I made Scotch Eggs this morning for breaky but used Farmland pork sausage instead of the usual local store brand turkey breakfast sausage. EWWW. As I was shaping the patties around the eggs, it sure looked grissily and fatty and gross. Then, after they were cooked, the eggs were swimming in grease DUH! Even my son, who usually likes them, didn't care for the pork sausage. It may be the brand and maybe Jimmy Dean would be a better choice, but from now on, I am sticking to my usual.

Hi all!

Good job, Misty! Keep up the good work!

Sometimes I think we believe we should lose a lot of weight quickly like when we are on induction or like people on TV shows using extreme measures. But a weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week is healthy and good. Slow and steady wins the race - I think that's how that saying goes!

Hi Lizzie! I'm 5'3-1/2 (don't forget the 1/2) and am 61 years old. I don't know if you all remember but Vicki is my niece - I'm her old aunt

Vicki, you are our inspiration and I know you can get those 10 pounds off in no time.

For the last two days, I've been battling stomach flu. I've eaten a lot of toast so I haven't weighed. I'm probably up, but that's the breaks! It will come off.

Have a great day everyone!

Welcome back Linda!
Hi Groovy!
Hi Sam - let us know how the match up goes

Aww, thanks guys!

Slimliz-- I hope it still happens for me! I feel so very far away from 150. But look at you, you go girl!

Groovy-- thanks

I was close with her, too, and it was very sad. But, my eating is good now so at least that is in check. I think it helps me mourn, too. Carbs made me fuzzy and numb, or super emotional and unstable.

I'm so sorry, Sam! I totally forgot to extend my sympathies for the loss of your grandmother. It is always so sad to lose someone we love.

May be you should try adding some carbs. Some people find that doing that helps them "jump start" their weight loss.

It couldn't hurt!

Cute video, Vicki! And I love that song. I listen to it all the time. It's from the O Brother Where Art Thou movie and soundtrack.

WELL!! Yesterday was match day!!! And I got my #1 choice!!! Which I will tell you about if you PM me, but I think I'd rather not post it here!

I'm happy, but it's bittersweet since I'm leaving most of my friends and family in Chicago.

Eating is good. In the 180s. Lost 4-5 pounds this past week. WOOWOO.

Classic Almond Flour Pound Cake

Ingredients

˝ Cup butter (1 stick) softened at room temperature
˝ Cup full fat cream cheese
1Cup Splenda…. ( ˝ C slenda brown )
5 large eggs
2 Cups Almond Flour or Hazelnut Flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cream butter, cream cheese and Splenda together,
mixing well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. In a separate bowl mix almond flour with baking powder.
Add flour mix.. to egg and butter a little at a time while beating. Add extracts
Pour into 9-10 “ spring form pan, bundt or 9” round pan. Bake at 350 F for 55-65 minutes ( 35-40 min RV oven )

You can change flavors for this cake by using different extracts and even add food coloring if you like.

I used 1/2 cup Splenda brown , a bit more baking powder and a tablespoon of vanilla

Great for Resurrection Day!!

Thanks Lizzie. Where do you get Splenda Brown, all I see is the stuff that is half splenda half sugar.

Walmart....you are right!! just checked my package..2 sugars..I will use it anyway it tastes better than all splenda.
Better than a full sugar dessert and there will be plenty of that.. and eating like 45-50 carbs a slice

Yea! It's great to break a stall!

Well, I've been pretty faithful to my NS program. I started it on 3/2 and I'm not going to make my weight "official" until the end of the month. Last time I checked I was down 7 pounds (it had been 10, but you know how things fluctuate!). I'd be happy with anything over 8....

What is everyone doing for Easter, if it is a holiday you celebrate?

Hey ladies.

This past weekend was a splurge. It was our anniverary and we went to the coast for a few days. Not so bad with the eating but the drinks were fun.

I've been good this week and am down 4.4 lbs. lol yes, I have to add the .4 lol.

Of course. I plan on staying on course this weekend --- no big plans. Just maybe check out a swap meet and a few yard sales, lol.

I have a confession: I ate crap yesterday in the hospitality rooms of the conference I went too. Crackers, cookies, bars ARGH <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<beating myself up. I have noticed that when I graze on junk, even nuts and cheese, I bite my nails, weird huh?
