Hi everyone - nope, not saying much. I can't seem to beat the carb cravings and I'm very disappointed in myself. The last of the pasta is gone as of last night, so the house is "clean".

I do have a question - what is considered "low carb" - under 100? under 50? you get the idea.

Vicki, I almost called you this weekend because you've been kind of quiet, too! You can call me any time - home or work.

Take care everyone!!!! It's a very rainy week here in Phoenix and I love it!

Aw, everyone. We can do this!

I didn't weigh in today because I'm at home in the suburbs. I had a minor blip on Sunday night-- fell off plan with chips and peanuts, but got back on plan yesterday and feeling better. Not sure how much damage on the scale yet! I didn't get out of ketosis, I don't think, but maybe that's from working out a whole bunch yesterday, too.

Didn't drink yesterday either Haha, should I be proud of that? Not really, but if you saw my track score for 2010 you'd see it was semi-miraculous!

How are you all doing??

Hi guys, quick check in to update stats. I'm up 1.5 lb. since starting P90X. People on the *********** P90X message board said that it is not unsual when starting, hoever, several people I started with dropped 5-7 lb. this week so that's not the most encouragement for me to work this hard with no weight loss. I do feel I'm getting strong though except for today. I had a rough day at work and came home and did my cardio X workout and am drained today. I couldn't even read the posts sorry.

I am sitting at home with another day cancelled due to an ice storm. Thankfully, I have technology and an online class management system (WebCT) to use in order to communicate with students on how they can complete the information that was going to be covered today in class.

The public and private schools around here are on day #5 or 6 for makeup due to the storms we have had so far. My 4th grader will be going well into the first week of June so far.

A suggestion made by the dietician that was at our TOPS meeting last night suggested not eating until you experience actual hunger. Now, it isn't as though I haven't heard this before LOL. So, I am waiting to feel hunger before I eat breakfast. She said to imagine that your hunger level could be rated on a scale of 0-10. 0 being famished, starving, feeling light headed etc. (I have never, ever felt this way :-/ ) and 10 would be like after stuffing yourself at Thanksgiving and having to unbutton your pants (been there though). So, eating should occur at around a 3-4 and end when you get to a 5-6.

So, here we go with experimentation. I am not sure how this would work at the workplace environment for me. I have classes that extend anywhere from 2-4 hours at a time. Granted, I do have 10 minute breaks in there though. I will let you know what happens. Just trying to get in touch with my eating: intuitive eating.

Vicki-- that's interesting what your TOPS woman told you. I'm not sure how that works with ketosis, because that definitely changes my hunger scale. I think sometimes I make myself eat at a 2 or 3 even though I'm not truly hunger, just because it's meal time of because I "know I should eat something".

Ugh. I have gained weight from last week. Was 183 this morning! EW! It could be so many things--- lifting weights last night, dinner at 8pm, the carb up 2 days ago....

All I can say is that I'm frustrated! I would hate to weigh more on Friday than I did last Friday. But oh well, right? I'm doing what I can, I think. Haven't drank in 2 days.

I'm putting my food into ****** right now... I'm not sure how my calories and ratios have been. I suspect too carby from vegetables, and maybe even too much protein.

BLAHHH.

What have you changed in your daily routine since you have started your WOE plan.

1. I noticed I have stopped driving thru the fast food places to pick up something on the
way for breakfast on my way to work or a quick Lg. Fries and drink while out shopping.
2. I dont stop in at the ice cream place for a cone when I go to Jo Anns for my crafts.
3. I dont snack at night at all anymore.
4. I am drinking more water each day for I am not a water person.
5. I dont fear the scales any more for I know that I am working hard on my WOE plan faithfully.
6. I take time to talk with the Lord more each day....at home, in my car, where ever I might be.
7. I enjoy going out to eat knowing I will enjoy my meal without ordering the old way of eating...and really feel good ....
8. I know now that even though my mind still sometimes has pictures of food that I still would enjoy they are not a temptation to me. I am in control.

I know that this is a journey taken one day at a time .
When the bumps in the road come I will be in control of my eating.
I will learn new things at my age to be healthy.
I will trust the Lord to handle problems that I can not fix....for he is there for me.
I will not forget that I am a woman that needs time for myself.

I only know what is the best for Mary...
One day at a time.
One meal at a time.
One exercise step at a time.
One prayer at a time.
One smile at a time.

Sometimes you need to just write it down.

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain!!!!!

My break a record today in rainfall. Washes are running, streets are flooded, streets are closed. At one of our buildings where I work the roof collapsed yesterday morning due to the weight of the water. Our roof here leaked so badly that the receptionist area on the first floor (we have two floors) was drenched in water and soaked her computer, etc. I didn't go upstairs to see what it was like - it obviously had to be bad to soak through the floor to hit the first floor!

Anyway.....I'm here. Breakfast is turkey ham - yum!!!!! I wanted to get here early today due to traffic so I didn't have breakfast at home.

Have a great day!!

Sam, yep, post it to be accountable as much as it hurts. I only say it because I didn't want to post my gain either ARGH.

Mary and Gibby, if you guys are getting rain, it is probably coming our way. In fact, it is this wknd. We are supposed to have temps in the 40s and thunderstorms. This coming from a state that a mere 2 weeks ago was -20s!

Mary, I love your one at a time mantra. One meal, one exercise session etc.

Hi guys, I'm going strong with P90X. Today is week 2 day 4. I'm sticking with it and still doing my spinning. Today was Yoga X, ninety minutes and I'll tell you this is no sissy workout. Then tonight I had to practice Spinning with other instructors so no slacking off there either.I can't even do every yoga move so I modify and do my best. Tony's saying is "do your best and forget the rest". That's what I do. Off to bed now. Yawnnnnnn.

Hi everybody. Still wet - more rain predicted, but I think the worst is over. I have a flat roof and I had my fingers crossed that it wouldn't leak or collapse So far so good! My cats were a little antsy - living in the desert they aren't used to 3 days of rain.

Still struggling to get back on LC. I don't know what's wrong with me - I've lost the desire. Feeling hopeless - like "here we go again - I've been battling this for over 20 years - what's the point? I'm just going to fail anyway". I'm going to spend this weekend smacking myself around and straighten up. I call it having a "come to Jesus meeting" with myself

Take care

184. SHOOT ME.

Gibby-- the best motivation is ketosis. Force yourself to get there, in 3 days, and your outlook, motivation and energy will completely change. It's the 2 day hurdle that's the worst.... but you can do it!!

OK Sam, you are shot. Now, Sam and Gibby, pick yourselves up and try, try again. You CAN do this. Imagine all of us standing on the side lines with pom poms rustling. Bright pretty ones, you pick the colors.

Thanks, Vicki!

The problem is that my eating has not been that bad! And my workouts have been amazing! So I'm not quite sure what more I can do.... but I'm working on it. Always, always working on it.

Out of town until Monday night-- will try to check in if possible, but if not, have a good weekend everyone!

I don't use the sticks. They never turn darker than the lightest shade and it is very discouraging especially when you've been on strict induction for a month and the sticks don't show it. I can tell when I'min ketosis by my breath - pardon me, but it's bad!!!!
