Sides for the prime rib - I'll make creamed corn for the carb eaters (my DH and Mom), and for me, either roasted brussels or green beans, probably green beans because they like them too. Maybe this year, I'll dress them up with bacon as a garnish. I love bacon on my green beans!
me too! i can eat bacon and green beans for a meal and have! lol

What's your name? Hi,I'm Layla, nice to meet you all!

Where are you from? I'm from CAli(love the lakers TOO!)and I had a cat named Vlade Divac..Lol!...I now live in Illinois for the next 6 months.

Do you like to exercise? NOPE!..but I will.I am currently training for a half marathon. We start training tomorrow morning...That's 16 DEGREES...I'm so serious about this marathon business.

Is this your first time losing or your 59th? Closer to 59 than 1...

What's your goal for this 8 week challenge? I would like to lose 40 pounds.I HAVE to make big goals that's how my brain works,I would also like to be commited to my training schedule.

What are you going to do to ensure you reach this goal!?!?....I have a couple of support groups.I have the running group,a few exercise buddies,2 weight loss groups,LCF,WW(just 4 the meetings and they are free through work)..basically I am the type that needs support because everyone(friends/family) around me have no interest in being healthy. When I'm feeeling low or I don't want to exercise I know that i have people depending on me so I will show up......

Anything else you'd like to add....feel free ....My greatest challenge will be giving up alcohol.I usually have "vodka Friday" at my house and we drink and make different kinds of tacos...good fun but it must end.I need to find new ways to have fun socially without alcohol, before I was obese I went to poetry and exibits but I became comfortable in my home,it became easier to stay home and drink and not have to find "club clothes" that fit......

Wow you ladies are posting like crazy. I am having a hard time keeping up! Lol.

Cle and Chantyl I must say I like the intensity of Jillian and would pick her in a heartbeat if I was on the show. She does have her moments when she gets in touch with her peeps.

Layla, that is funny about your cat's name. I had a cat once for a little while (before he got shipped off because he was a wild cat and I tried to tame him). I named him Barkley after Sir Charles. Yes I am old school. I used to watch the NBA in the Pippen, Jordan, Malone days.

Well for New Years I am going to the casino with a bunch of girls but I am not drinking because I have to drive. I usually go to a house party but this year the invite came after my casino invite. But that's another story. I am like the rest of you try to keep it close to home to avoid the idiots on the road.

Talk to you later.

It doesn't get more old school than having cats named Magic and A.C.! We enjoy the commentary by Sir Charles on TNT when they broadcast the games. One of the biggest disappointments for me was when the Lakers lost Karl Malone.

What is your name: Jennifer

Where are you from? Missouri

Do you like to exercise? Um no....really wish I did though...

Is this your first time losing or your 59th? Is that max number allowed ???

What's your goal for this 8 week challenge? Stay on plan, Stay on plan, Stay on Plan....no straying away...no giving up! Weight loss goal of 16 pounds ( would love it to be more, but I am trying to set realistic goals this time around!)

What are you going to do to ensure you reach this goal!?!? Check this thread daily, or hourly...whatever the need be that day! Keep food prep and ready, plan meals, do NOT sample any foods made for the kids....possibly join a gym if funds allow....

Anything else you'd like to add....feel free I am a SAHM mom to two wonderful children (1 is special needs) they keep me busy....but I really need to learn to put myself on the to do list. I ALWAYS put them, hubby, heck even the dog gets done for before I do for myself...so this will be something else I work on through this challenge. I do look foward to get to meet you all.

Hi all
Not a bad day today. Not enough movement, but I'm on track for food and water, though I'm craving dh's perogies and cabbage rolls...
I still have some crack slaw left so I'll eat that for dinner.
Happy New Years - let's make this one OURS!!!

Jenger, I would love to have a Wii so I could get the Wii fit. I think I would be addicted to playing the other games though. :thud:

Well happy new year everyone. Yes its 12:51 a.m. in Vancouver and I just got home and logged in. Lol. I was good and only had one glass of wine cut with perrier and then at the casino I split a stir fry chicken in black bean sauce with a friend. Last hoorah before knuckling down to business today.

Well I will weigh tomorrow a.m. for the official stats for this 8 week challenge to myself.

What's your name?
Sunny

Where are you from?
Houston, Texas

Do you like to exercise?
I love it once I get out of the door with my workout clothes on. I hate procrastinating, and I have to fight myself everyday to get out of the house to exercise. I love the high I get after walking/running. I wish that I belonged to a gym.

Is this your first time losing or your 59th?
I've been working hard at losing weight for the past year. I lost 30 lbs in 2009, and I have kept it off. Now, I want to lose at least another 40-50 lbs this year! I'm so ready to do this!

What's your goal for this 8 week challenge?
To lose at least 20-30 lbs.
To get fit.
To reach my mini goal of Onederland.
To feel great about being in my skin!

What are you going to do to ensure you reach this goal!?!?
Stick to my eating and workout plan.
Journal my journey.
Prepare and plan meals ahead of time.
Log onto this site and be held accountable.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

It is way better than Wii Fit, you can do the exercises at your own pace such as the running at a more normal speed instead of a crawl like on Wii Fit. Better workouts too.

Hey Ladies! I have been cooking all morning. I got a really good deal on ground round for 1.99 a pound so I stocked up! I have been cooking meatballs, meatloaf, premaking burger patties, browned lots up for tacos and chili makes it super easy when the meat is already cooked. I made linda sues Whitecastle Pie. I think I am going to make her taco bake too if I have time. For supper tonight I think we will have meatload, scalloped turnips, and roasted brussel sprouts. Hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year so far!

Well I decided to wait on rejoining my club as the manager is out sick til Monday....uh huh. Sure. And he was the one that said he would waive a month or two.

Whatever ~

I hope he got coal for Christmas.

My daughter and I are going to start running down our block. From one end to the other. I jog very slow though.

I want to do this every day. Just one way ~ then eventually back again. We are going in a half hour ~ first we will drive to see how far it actually is.

I hope my feet and legs fair okay running on cement.
