Everyone is welcome in this challenge. Since you are all in charge of keeping your own scores, its a lot less work for me this go around and more ppl can play! Just keep it honest.

Just follow the rules at the top and you'll be fine.

Ways to make exercise a habit:

Your best bet for health is to start a lifelong fitness habit. But you may find yourself breaking that habit unless you find ways to keep it fun, fresh, and energizing. So, what gets in the way of lifelong fitness? Most people cite boredom, lack of time, and no motivation as reasons why they stop working out. Here, we've got ten great tips for making exercise a habit you'll never want to break.

Make it fun. You're more likely to exercise if it's enjoyable. Choose sports you love or want to learn. Work out with friends. Blast your favorite music.

Put your health first. Take yourself off the bottom of your to-do list and give your health the #1 position it deserves. Making exercise a habit means you'll be around longer for all the people who depend on you.

Save the date. Make a daily appointment with yourself for fitness. Treating exercise like you would a business meeting, dinner date, or medical appointment will help you take it seriously.

Mix it up. Nobody wants to do the same old thing every day. Cross train or engage in multiple sports or exercises to keep your mind and body interested.

Keep a diary. Write down what you did, or didn't do for fitness each day, and review it weekly. If you find you're skipping certain days or taking shortcuts, evaluate what might be standing in your way. Were you too busy, tired, or bored? Consider more convenient times of day or locations for exercise.

Pick the right time. Most people who successfully make exercise a habit work out out either first thing in the morning or on their way home from work before other commitments and responsibilities take over their schedule.

Get involved. Sign up for a 5K, tennis tournament, volleyball competition, or commit to some other sports event. You're more likely to work out regularly when you know you'll have to perform at your best (and in front of other people) in the future.

Hire a task master. Hiring a personal trainer is a sure-fire way to make exercise a habit. Not only will your trainer make sure you show up and do the right thing, but the money you're spending will be an extra motivator.

Get a buddy. Find a workout partner who shares your fitness goals and interests-and hold each other accountable. It's harder to break the exercise habit if you know someone else is depending on you.

Positive reinforcement. Reward yourself for making exercise a habit. Made it to the gym every day for a week? Treat yourself to a movie. Finally completed 20 laps in the pool without stopping? Get a pedicure.

Cut the crap and get it cracking! No excuses!

What's your name? Terry

Where are you from? Born in Illinois, and now live in Washington by way of Phoenix and Laguna Beach, CA

Do you like to exercise? I hate it so much, it should be a four-letter word, but I do it because I like how it makes me feel and I need it.

Is this your first time losing or your 59th? This is my second really serious go-around with low carbing. And my last.

What's your goal for this 8 week challenge? To be well into onederland - like around 190.

What are you going to do to ensure you reach this goal!?!? Eat squeaky clean and get my butt to the gym!

What's my name: Angela but most of my friends call me Ang.

Where are you from: Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada.

Do you like to exercise?: Yes actually I love it. I sporadically weight train. I play flag football in the spring and fall, softball on two teams in the spring, this year I may take up dragon boating and I am going to join a running clinic in Feb to train for a 10k run (running is my demisis - can't do it very well even though I wish I could run like a track athlete). Lol

Is this your first time losing weight: Gawd no. I always have to watch my weight. I am regrouping after regaining 25 pounds over the last three years.

What are your goals for this 8 week challenge?: To prove to myself that I can stick to a plan for a measley 8 weeks because I am worth it and fit into all the clothes in my closet and my bikini.

What am I going to do?: Check in here and accumulate all the points I can by staying lc and exercising.

Anything else?: Unlike Chantyl I am competitive which would explain all the team sports I am involved in and betting on the NFL games. I love the NFL and everyone knows that is where I will be on a Sunday. Sitting in front of the tv flipping back and forth through three games at once.

Hiya Everyone - Nice to meetcha

What's your name? Diane

Where are you from? Tennessee

Do you like to exercise? I like the "idea" of exercise. I have visions of myself as an athlete. Reality however, is quite different----I hate exercise!

Is this your first time losing or your 59th? I think it's my 1,000,000,059th time.

What's your goal for this 8 week challenge? Lose at least 16 pounds. Get to Onederland.

What are you going to do to ensure you reach this goal!?!?
I am going to do cardio 5 times a week, strength training 3 times a week and eat totally on plan.

So what are all these questions?

Name: They call me Lucy
Location: California
Do I like to excercise? Sure, when I'm not fat. EVERYTHING is easy when I'm not fat. I've just been fat for the last 20 years, putting on a couple (or 10-20) pounds every year.

This is my second time REALLY doing the low carb thing. Last time I lost maybe 65 pounds and felt really good. Adn then I think I had a chips and salsa meltdown. I don't know what happenedbut I put everything I lost back on and it was all mushy, cheesy, fluffy fat. Gross.

My goal? Is to be able to make it through this 8 week challenge to see if I can really give myself this gift of self discipline. Will I decide that I'm important enough .....or do I really not give a crap about myself?

How will I ensure that? By being prepared! I plan to be prepared! To have the right things around me. To have my vegetables prepared, my meat thawed, my zillion glasses of water ready! Oh and to walk out of the room when warm, fresh bread is in the room.
And I WILL NOT make mashed potatoes and gravy for my family!!!

What else? What else do you wanna know?

Luce

Hi Diane and Lucy! Well.........I actually laughed out loud 1,000,000,059th time....that was too funny!!!

Lucy...I like polls thanks for playing along...it makes these challenges much more fun when we learn about each other then we're able to stalk each other (in an encouraging way) and not let each other quit!

Okay. You play the polls......and I want to get a petition going on being able to deduct calories/carbs/whatever, for all those things you DON'T eat in a day! I think I should be given a 20 carb handicap because I didn't eat garlic bread and spaghetti and instead ate my salad, and carne asada with 1/3 cup of sauce on it. That's what I want!
