Checking in.....right on plan for food and for exercise..AND, as I told my partner Fonda, this morning, there's a shirt in my closet that's an absolute gain/lose shirt........IT FIT this morning and it was comfortable. And when I was in church this morning raising my arms, it was STILL comfortable!!! YAYYYYYYYYY!!

Custard? yum! I'm making THAT! It's perfect for when the sweet thing hits.

Food today? - left over hamburger patty with a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Two broccoli crowns, one cooked from last night with mozzerella cheese on top, the other one raw with ranch dressing. Four cherry tomatoes......can you believe how expensive those are? $2.89 for a basket! That's insane. I'm gonna grow my own this year.

Tonight - carne asada cut into thin strips, stir fried with onion, mushrooms and bell pepper, and celery sticks with cream cheese........mmmm......and mashed cauliflower with cheese and sour cream. yum!

Lucy

Yes, the custard is just the thing for when you want something sweet, and the best part is, you get protein with it too. Win-win! I often will finish off my evening meal with a cup of custard. Made the way I put it in the recipe (with Calorie Countdown milk), here's what it figures up to be:

Calories: 79
Carbs: 1.8 g
Fat: 4.5 g
Protein: 10 g

They don't make Calorie Countdown here anymore...I used to find it in Stop and Shop...

Yeah, I know it's getting hard to find. I hate it when that happens!

Today's eats so far:

Just been grazing as I prepare foods.

B: coffee w/HWC
Lunch (of sorts): 10 slices dried beef, 3 slices of bacon, 1 cup of custard
Cup of decaf cappucino
Dinner will be another one of those grazing things, as we go to the home of another church member on Sunday night. They always serve a dessert of some sort, which I always decline, then I just eat dinner after I get home.

Hey partner

Woohoo for being on plan and for also planning ahead and prepping food for the week!

Wow, $500 is quite the motivator! What do you do in the ICU? I'm an x-ray tech working at an urgent care clinic. You'd think working in healthcare it wouldn't be a problem eating healthy but the amount of carbage in our breakroom is incredible.

I got the ingredients to make a couple of the dishes from Linda Sue's recipe collection: the Ro-Tel dish and Enchilada Bake. Also got a chicken to roast so I'll have chicken salad fixin's.

I've been on plan today (I'm generic low carb, btw, no particular plan)

B - 2 HB eggs, cheese stick, coffee w/ cream
L - 2 Hebrew National hot dogs, about 3/4 c sauerkraut, iced tea
D - to be determined

Today was a traveling day for us, so I was not able to exercise. Food was on plan though. I have a total of only four points so far for the week, but I am hitting it HARD starting tomorrow now that I am back home.

I got my BODY BUGG (actually, it is a GoFIT which is a Body Bugg clone) today and have it on and activated. It is SO COOL! I really am enjoying it even though I have had several heart rate monitors before. This is different so far.

Anyway - my goal is to just track my intake, keep it low carb, get into ketosis and make sure my calories burned exceed what I am taking in. Sounds easy - right???

Sorry, but I got stuck here......1.8 carbs for the custard......? I hate to admit that the first thought in my head was "HOLY MOLY, I could eat a CRAPLOAD of THAT!!!!"

And then I took a breath and regained composure. Sorry.

I can not believe that I have been missing this.....I have been reading all these different threads on the boards about chicken wings. I have never ate them because they grossed me out....all meat on the bone grosses me out.....Well I gave in and tried some tonight at home.

I fried them and then rolled them around in hot sauce, butter, splash of vinegar.....OMG!

They were amazing!!!!

I will be eating these again! Yummy!

What foods have you guys thought you could never eat only to come to realize you really like it?

Does anyone have any alternative moves for planks and/or side planks when doing a video? I can't put my full weight on my hands due to surgery a few months ago, but I really want to make a go of this yoga dvd. Any suggestions????

Hmmm I heard that people who can't handle planks and push-ups should do them standing/on the wall. Maybe that could work...alot less pressure on the wrists/hands

I do love hot wings! Yesterday I had them at a local restaurant, and they do it right. They're especially tasty dipped in blue cheese dressing to mitigate the heat.

I am glad you got a grip Lucy! And like you, I could eat a LOT of it in one day, but I normally hold myself to two unless I'm making a meal out of it, which I have been known to do. It's a great way to eat eggs!

Awwww...I'm not an animal lover...not a hater either but I'm allergic...so I mostly stay away..

Have a good bible study!
