It sounds like you exercised your self control last night and as we all know that's one of the hardest exercises there is. The stair master should be a piece of cake after that, lol.

Good job Monika! It sounds like you stuck to plan and didn't suffer at all.

We are realizing that we have so much to do before we leave. And I have so much work to get done too. And packing and picking out clothes to wear....it's going to get busy around here! I've always know that if I forget something really important, the house is only a 5 minute drive from the port. So I can always go home and get it. This time we're leaving out of Florida so I better not forget anything!

I think my soup went bad. It tasted funky yesterday so I'm going to toss it, which is a shame. Instead I'll have meatballs or a frozen meal or something. I think next week I'll be inspired to make meatloaf muffins.

OK, gotta get ready for the day here...

got up early and dropped DH off at the trail head.. in Las Cruces.. for his over night hike.
the group was 13 hikers.. and 5 of them had ER experience.. Dr or Nurses! hahaha

so.. I just now had breakfast
oatmeal.. with xtra Fiber 1pt and
I will have my yogurt now too.. 0pts
Lunch.. yikes.. no clue yet...
soup with a grilled cheese sandwich. 1pt for the soup and 3pts for the sandwich.? maybe
and then some grapes this afternoon.
dinner.. spagetthi and meat ( lean-ground) and we will see and figure out the points.. I think at least 2 for the pasta... and I don't know how much for the ground/beef turkey in sauce?

so that is the plan.. and going to the gym this afternoon.
and get those xtra points...

Just stopped by to say

(((sigh))) Monika about Las Cruces - amazing how you have to leave a place to miss it...we will be back permanently late March/early Apr 2010...actually counting the days. Found out the hard way that the east coast is a good place to visit, but not live...oh well - lesson learned...

I want to thank you all for keeping this thread going - I know there were some lean times and I for one appreciate it so much. I peek in at least once a week but try for more. Just long days - up at 4AM, out by 5:45AM back home at 6:30 PM - bummer...but it is what I have to do for now. Lots of time commuting - bus mainly/some subway every day/both ways - we lost our car in April

We are hanging in there - DH is fully disabled now so kind of tough on everyone. Yesterday was 2 yrs that my Mom died so still struggle with that daily and have accepted it cuz it doesn't get better. But it is OK.

Miss you all and you all

Patty, good to see you posting. Just post when you can. I just wrote the check for my Mom's grave flowers for the year so of course I've been thinking about my mom a lot lately too. My dad and I sat down and picked out all the arrangements for 2010. The only comfort we can have is knowing they're looking down on us and watching over us. And that they're no longer in pain and sick.

I hope your move back to NM goes very smoothly for you and your family.

Monika, spaghetti sounds so yummy. That was my mom's very favorite food of all time. And it's my youngest granddaughter's too. So everytime we have it for a big family dinner, like just last Sunday, we always remember how much Grandma loved it too.

Monika: Great job on your eating yesterday.

Patty: Glad to see you posting.

Lou: When do you leave on your trip?

My eating today was good. It has helped that I have not had any choc or cola's for the last 2 days, the acid reflex is better.

It's back to work tonight for me 12pm-8am, so I will need to take a nap.

Have a great night ladies.

well.. first of all.. my thoughts and prayers go out to our military friends and families at Ft Hood. Thank good my son is home.. I would have been going crazy... He was stationed at Ft hood before coming home..
so.. we are greatful and thank the lord... that he is home.. with us.

otherwise.. I went to the gym.. I worked out hard.. but I was still up 1lb... I am sure from yesterdays dinner..
Hope I will be down tomorrow.
It is soooo hard for me to loose anything.. and it just showed me again.. that even one sinful dinner is costly for me...

So.. we had spaghetti dinner.. I had 1c of meat sauce.. and 1c of spaghetti.. so.. I am counting 10pts and a skinny cow.. for desert..
grapes for my afternoon snack.. and well.. I had some lean ham earlier.. in the afternoon.. when I was hungry.. LOL
soo I think I used up all my points for today... and I am done eating.

no.. we are on the other side of TX.. but my son was stationed there.. between his tours to Iraq. His unit is the 3rd cav.
He was in the excact building many many times.. last time 4 weeks ago when he got his finial clearing papers.
so.. he is a bit shaken up.. and of course we just have very close ties to the families there.
so.. we pray for the families and the whole community.

good morning my WW friends.. and TGIF.
almost feel like not posting.. because my daily struggles with weight seems to be so small and frivolous compared to real life. and real tragedies.

so.. anyway.. just because life is what it is... and we have to deal with every day.. and what comes ...
I am not happy with the scale. Actually very frustrated...seems I am still up 1lb from last week.. and I am working my butt of at the gym...and nothing to show for.
counting the points.. and keeping track of what I am eating.. staying with the points... maybe going 1-2pts into the flex points.. but.. nothing to show for... argh
I wish I would have have kept a weight loss journal.. from the last few years..I want to believe that I have a loss coming.. and my body is just trying to hang on to the fat for as long as it can.
so.. keeping my fingers crossed for the weight loss fairy.. I sure could use a little nudge. sigh
so.. breakfast.. again.. oatmeal.. xtra fiber... 1pt
lunch... left over soup 1pt and sandwich.3pts with tomato and olive oil. 2pts =6pts
snacks.. yogurt=0pt
apple 1pt
dinner.... challenge.. jambalya.. with shrimp and lean turkey.. and ham.. for meat.
got to look up the points to be sure... guessing 10pts? and that still would give me 5xtra points for snacks? sigh...
I will find ways to eat those points I am sure.

Monika, rest assured, when you're doing the program, it does work. Not near as fast as we'd like it to of course. Don't give up. Working out makes our muscles hold onto water for a cushion. It's just water; when your muscles figure out they don't need that cushion, out it will come. Just keep counting your points and don't let daily weighing distract you from your long term goal. Make sure you're not underestimating portion sizes so that your points are right on, but other than that it sounds like you're right on track. Keep on truckin' girlfriend!!

My weight is up to 214 lbs. I am really not eating that much. y metabolism is non-existant.

We walked last night for a mile. Starting somewhere I guess.

Just thinking – would it help if you just weighed at the meetings and not a home for a few weeks? It Is just such a mind game.

Monika: ME TOO, I must weigh myself every day. Also have you taken any body measurements? You have been working out so good, you must have gained "Muscle" which still weighs, but takes up less space then "fat". So I think your getting skinner in body size and the scale is just a little slow in showing you the number you want to see.

Keep up with what your doing, you inspire me my friend.

Monika, do u have the food book the sell at the meetings? It has virtually every food and drink that u could possibly use.

Going to Texas Roadhouse with Mom tomorrow, then to get groceries.

John and I have our 31st anniversary on wednesday. Don't know what were doing for it.

Tired, going to bed girls.

good morning my WW friends.. happy saturday to you all..
well... I downloaded some info from DWL onto my smart phone.. so.. I am sure I can find wine cooler there? I think.. LOL
Mybe I will look for the food companion next time I go to weigh in.

No LOSS again to report this morning... bummer...
I will have to ad some fish to my dinners.. and cut back on some of the carbs at dinner and in the afternoons> I think...
because I believe my mornings and lunch meals are ok.. my snacks are ok.. but.. I might have to many carbs at around dinner...
Maybe an evening walk would be a good thing too... on the days I am not working out at the gym?
I will try to make a real afford to get that in. even if it is just 1/2 mile around the block

so... breakfast.. I am sticking with the oatmeal.. just 1pts for that.. and it is filling
snack.. yogurt.. or apple
lunch... soup.. or salad.. with a light sandwich..
dinner.. light stir fry... with shrimp... steamed rice... I think just for the guys.. I will skip the rice... and stick with the veggies.
I might ad an extra glass of milk.. or juice.. as a snack.. late eve.
and then we will see how that works out for me.
breakfast.. 1pt, snack 1pts... lunch 5pts., dinner 10 pts..
xtra snack 2pts, good oils 2pts (stir fry)
= 21pts.. still have 2 left I am sure I am using right now for creamer in my coffee.. LOL

I will have this for my lunch!

HG's Spinach, Tomato, Feta 'n Egg Wrap Attack!
1

PER SERVING (entire wrap): 168 calories, 5.5g fat, 694mg sodium, 24g carbs, 15g fiber, 2g sugars, 20g protein -- POINTSŪ value 3*

Ingredients:

1 La Tortilla Factory Whole Wheat Low-Carb/Low-Fat Tortilla, Large (sometimes labeled Smart & Delicious Low Carb High Fiber)
1/2 cup chopped spinach
1/3 cup fat-free liquid egg substitute (like Egg Beaters)
1 1/2 tbsp. Athenos Reduced Fat Natural Feta Cheese, Crumbled with Basil & Tomato (or plain Reduced Fat Crumbled)
1 tbsp. Hunt’s Tomatoes, Fire Roasted Diced with Garlic
2 pieces sun-dried tomato in oil & spices, chopped

Directions:
Spray a small pan with nonstick spray, and bring to medium heat. Add egg substitute, and cook to form an egg patty (flipping and folding until firm). Remove egg patty and set aside.

Remove the pan from heat, re-spray, and then return to medium heat. Add chopped spinach and both types of tomatoes. Stirring occasionally, cook for about 1 minute (until spinach has wilted). Add the cheese to the pan and cook for an additional 30 seconds (cheese should be melt-y). Remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly. Meanwhile, heat tortilla in the microwave until slightly warm.

Place veggie/cheese mixture in the center of the tortilla. Place egg patty on top, and wrap the tortilla up envelope style (folding the sides in first, and then rolling it up from the bottom). Place wrap in the toaster oven (with the seam-side down) and bake for 1 - 2 minutes (until thoroughly heated). Enjoy!

MAKES 1 SERVING

Just wake up, so good morning!

Monika: I have a WW complete food companion book, it's about 2 yrs old, & wine coolers are not listed. You may want to take you point finder & look at s store were they sell then & check out the points that way.

DH is so sweet, he bought me new battries for my scale so I weighed in at 192 this morning. Not to bad, I ran out of my meds for one day & my weight that next day was 197, 5 lbs gain in 24 hours, my feet were so swollen I had a hard time getting my shoes on. So now I'm back on my meds and it took 3 days for all that water weight to level. I won't do that again.
Plus my blood pressure was out of sight do to the water gain. Maybe that is why I was not feeling so good.

Well it's a beautiful day here in WI, it's 70 and sunny, so I'm off to eat breakfast I will have Golean cereal with skim milk & berries.

to everyone

2 apples, cored and diced (leave skin on)
1 or 1 1/2 c. frozen blackberries or berry melange (no sugar added)
3/4 c. steel cut oats
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. sunflower oil (or other Core healthy oil)
cooking spray

Spray a 9x9 or 9x11 baking dish.
Place apples in dish. Add frozen berries.
Sprinkle oats evenly over fruit. Drizzle with oil. Add water.
Cover and bake at 400 for 20 min.
Uncover and stir well to moisten the oats and blend all juices.
Re-cover and continue baking until desired texture. The oats will form a yummy thick mixture with the juices from the fruit.

Serve with FF Cool Whip or use that frother!
