I measured and weight out 5 oz of corned beef.. 8pts
I am sure I ate to much cabbage... and I had 1/2 potato. 3pts
for desert I had a yoplait delight yogurt.. 2pts and I guess it counts for me milk
so... 13pts for dinner..and that will do it for me today.
done with all my points. well. I had 16 left over.. minus 13!
oh my... I still have 3pts left.. LOL
I can have something else.. later.. LOL

Liver once a week.

I suddenly feel awful tonight. Head achy, fluffy. I really hope I'm not coming down with something. It'll be an early to bed night for sure.

good morning my WW friends.
Hope you are not getting sick Lou! I am sorry to hear you are not feeling well.
and yes.. I remember ... liver.. ones a week.. and I remember when my leader almost fainted.. because I had liverwurst, which of course was like 100% FAT! ahahahahahah.
the good old days! NOT! LOL

scale is moving downwards for me... saw the 170lb mark again this morning.
I know it will be going back up again during the day.. but... there is this glimpse of the 160's ... coming soon... so.. I am happy this morning...

I have to run my elderly friends around this morning... it kinda sorta irritates me.. because they did not mention it last night.. when I talked to them.. and this morning.. she said..she has to go to the VA... It will take me several hours away from home... and.. well we see what other places I have to drive them too.. she has not mentioned this morning.
I told her I have to be home by 1PM... because I need to go to the gym and work out today... I just have to .. I did not go all last week.. and got things to do. sigh.
so.. I be gone all morning... Hope to be home by lunch time. but.. packing a protein shake.. just in case. do not want to mess up my weigh in for tonight.

Lou, I hope you feel better today.

Monika, you're such a good friend to your elderly friends. My dad will do the same thing, forget to tell me what he needs me to do until the last minute. And he'll get dropped off at home by my brother and THEN call ME to tell me he needs groceries. Uh, why can't he ask my brother to stop on the way to get them???

Good luck on your weigh in!!

I don't know what it was, but I feel better this morning.

I am also looking to see the 160's by the time I leave for vacation, Monika. We can do it!!!!!

You know what I hate? That you can't wear deodorant when you get a mammo. My mammo is today and I just got out of the shower and I feel like I already have BO. Of course, I am constantly sniffing to see, and I'm good so far. I feel a haiku brewing.....

No deodorant,
My armpits feel so stinky.
I sniff, there's no smell.

And I have a pap smear today too. JOY.

If only I could round the day out with a root canal, that would be the trifecta. I did that once on my birthday. Mammo, pap smear, root canal - back to back. That wasn't a good birthday.

I suppose I should try and get some work done...

Lou

I DO remember those old days, I was in 9th grade when I joined the first time, 72 for me, too! Some girl (her name was Cindy Bir) came back from the summer vacation and she gad lost 35 lbs. She had been chunky but not fat. I went home and BEGGED Mom and Dad to let me do it. Dad told Mom to call and make sure it wasn't some fad diet and how much it costed, etc. It was $5 to join and $3 per week, $2 for youths. Mom and I went together, and I would eat my lunch outside so no one would tempt me (or make fun of me for being fat!). I can't tell u guys how many times I rejoined after that, finally reached goal and became lifetime on April 3, 1979. I do all kinds of fad diets but when it comes down to it, WW is my tried and true success and where my heart lies. Remember too, if I ate cheese with your fish you were NOT allowed to count it as a FISH meal? No potatoes, had to use cauliflower as a substitute, no real butter, only diet margarine, no pork ever? WW had their own tv dinners (were ok at the very most) and they had "frozen desert" (ice cream) and wasn't good, but I suffered through it just to have it! And EVERYTHING was pink in the beginning for their "colors"! Ah yes, those were the good ol' days!

Lou, I feel the same qway, always checking to see if there's a smell... My Sister in law (the one from australia) doesn't shave or use deo (grosses John OUT!!!) And his bro doesn't either, their daughter is OPPOSITE! SIL wears no make up, does no crafts, etc. SIL told me once that Nicole would do better as my daughter cuz she had no desire to do "girlie" things and couldn't relate to her at all. Nicole loved to spend the night cuz she and Kim would use my makeup and I allowed them to.

good luck my friend... and here is something for you all

I was due later that week for an appointment with the gynecologist when early one morning I received a call from his office: I had been rescheduled for early that morning at 9:30am. I has just packed everyone off to work and school and it was around 8:45 already. The trip usually took about 35 minutes so I didn't have any time to spare. As most women do, I'm sure, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So I rushed upstairs, threw off my dressing gown, wet the washcloth and gave myself a wash in "that area" in front of the sink, taking extra care to make sure that I was presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment. I was in the waiting room only a few minutes when he called me in.
Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure all women do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended I was in Hawaii or some other place a million miles away from here. I was surprised when he said: "My...we have taken a little extra effort this morning, haven't we?" but I didn't respond. The appointment over, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day went as normal, some shopping, cleaning and the evening meal, etc.
At 8:30 that evening my 14 year old daughter was getting ready for a school dance, when she called down from the bathroom, "Mom, where's my washcloth?"
I called back for her to get another from the cabinet. She called back, "No, I need that one that was here by the sink. It had all my glitter and sparkles in it."

Monika, I didn't realize this til this week that you're from Germany. As in, you were born there? When did u come to the U.S.? My mother's Grandfather was from Germany (mom's gramdma too). Their last name was Hausenstaub. Mom said they both had a beautiful german accent. My Dad's father was from Ireland (he died when Dad was in WWII and grandma Dillon said he had the Irish broge, grandma Dillon had german/french ancestors but she was born in the US.

Ok, we got the test results back and everything is totally normal. No Crohn's, no nothing!! So praise God. I prayed for total healing and I'm believing my prayers were answered. The Dr. told her to stop all the meds and live her life as normal. They said it could've been a long lived virus that finally ran it's course or a bacteria that they didn't test for or missed. Or whatever. They really don't know what it was. They said the total cleanse probably cleaned out any residual leftovers and that at this point she was fine. They did about 15 biopsies and they were all normal. So now my prayer is that she continues to feel good and be healthy. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

oh sandy.. that is wonderful news! I am so happy for your DGD and the family.
I married my DH in 1978, in germany.. got to the US.. for the first time 1979 went back to germany in 81-84 and have been here in El Paso, TX ever since. this is my home now.. and I love it here... Became a US citizen a few years ago. I was raised in a small town called Schweinfurt.. that is pretty much dead center germany.. along the Main River.

well.. got back from the gym and got my work out in.. and I am beat! I always feel it.. after not going for a few days... and well.. .. LOL... like I said. I am worn out! hahaha

so going to hop in the show now.. and get dress for the weigh-in tonight.. of corse I am 2-3lbs heavier now.. then I was this morning.. but I hope to still show a loss for this week.. at tonight's weigh-in. I will be missing the first few min of Bl tonight.. but.. I have to say.. what I saw in the preview was not to exciting... and entertaining.. so.. it will be ok...

so... TTYS

I have an old letter written in German by my great-great grandmother and she mentions the Main in her letter. I ought to try to find it and send you a copy Monika and see if you can totally translate it for me. I'm sure it's in the box of my mom's family stuff. I'll check next time I go up to see Dad.

Good luck on your weigh in! I know you're going to do well.

Carol... I'm just a little behind u ao don't fret, sweetie. I was about 199 at weigh in yesterday, so u and I will just get to goal together, ok?

Monika, so u and DH must talk with that beautiful accent! I have to go back and look at when u said u married your hubby. I got married in 78, I'm 53 and John's 51. Are u and DH anywhere close to us? Kim turned 27 in August and she's our only one. U tipped me off when u said last week that "in Germany we call it rumkopf" and then the little lights went off for me.

So happy u will be with us here for a long time.

well.. I don't think I have that much of an accent.. Marie will tell you that I often get confused with a Canadian! LOL

No weigh in loss!
but I was wearing my heavier clothing.. jeans.. and a sweater.. sooo maybe an xtra .5lb
and I worked out.. and drank a lot of fluids..soooo.. it will be better next weigh in! LOL

and BL well.. just like I thought.. now they are bringing politics in ..with their infomercials. I am not watching it until the end... the last 30 min when their weigh in starts. I don't know if you all aware that... GE ( the big company) owns NBC and MSNBC and is also one of the white house economic advisers.. soooo.. it pretty much spoiled this entire episode for me.

Monika: You had a great week, the scale will be good to you next weigh in.
I didn't even think about the politices, but your right, now we can't even enjoy a TV program without them getting into our heads.

Rebecca: Thanks I need a buddy to cross the finish line with. I'm haveing a hard time with this, not sure when to eat & when to sleep. DH & I were married in 74, I think most of us here are around the same age group.

I have the night off and tomorrow night, 2 nights of sleep, maybe I will better tomorrow.

to everyone & good night

hey... it was not to long ago I was right around the 200lb mark! LOL
We all can do it.. as I said.. I have been at this now for almost 5 years! LOL
5 years... .. yikes... LOL
but.. well.. again.. this is not a sprint.. this a marathon.. and I am taking my time.. making sure that I am making healthy lifelong changes.
this is not a phase this time.. this is it.. for me...
I might not loose the weight fast.. but I am losing.. and I am taking every day as it comes.
sometimes there are good days and well sometimes not so good.. but .. then there is always the next day.. and we can try try again.

If we all could lose the weight.. as fast as we gain it.. nobody here would be overweight!

good morning my WW friends.. happy Wednesday to you all.
Hope Carol is feeling better... and Rebecca got some rest and a good nights sleep. I remember those days when I was working graveyard.. and.. had two little kids.. and ... and.. and I was a lot younger then! LOL I don't think I could do it anymore now.
It takes everything I have right now to focus on the things I do .. as a stay at home mom and wife.

so... hope everyone is doing better this morning.
I have a sore throat.. but I think that is from breathing heavy... at the gym.. during my workout.
I will go again today... and I am hoping to get at least 4 days of workout in this week.

I will have oatmeal with xtra fiber this morning...
1pt
snacks.. apple.. 1pt.. and yogurt 0pt
lunch... I have a burger patty left.6pts. I will put that on the thin round bread.1pt.. with ff cheese..1pt and some salad 0pt = 8pts for lunch

Dinner..ww. spagetthi.. with meat sauce...I will have to figure out the points...later.. because I don't know excactly how I will make the meat sauce.. with Turkey or lean ground beef?
and we will have a side salad.
sooooooo.. I should be able to fix something up for 13pts. and the biggest challenge will be as usual.. portion control.. .argh.

Good morning everyone!

Monika, you've had great success so far. You can't have that every week. I know it's a bummer, but you're probably right. I bet it's the heavier clothes. That's why I always weighed in exactly the same outfit.

I am also Irish and German. And Hungarian. But I have German from both sides of my family. So I guess I'm half German.

The mammo and pap smear were uneventful. I could bust out a haiku:

My nipple stickers,
Left there for the breast exam
Festive, the doc said.

Yeah, I forgot to take off the metal nipple stickers. I always do that. It's usually me who finds them though.

Sandy I'm so glad your DGD is feeling better. I would hate not knowing what it was though.

So, my doctor told me that they ordered 2000 flu shots for her office and got 200. So, I couldn't get one. She strongly advised that I get one at the drug store before getting on a germ ridden plane and a pietri dish cruise ship. So, that's what we'll do.

I have a ton of work to catch up on here....gotta run.

I am having my lunch now.
burger from last night and lettuce and tomato
and then I got to get myself to the gym and work out.

Its a beautiful day here.. sunny and blue skies.. and it must be close to 80F
Just a gorgeous day.
Went to Sam's and stocked up on FISh! I only had one tiny piece of salmon left at home.. now.. I have a good variety again and ready to eat some fish! LOL
Dh is going on an overnight hike tomorrow.. so just me and DS at home.. and we will come up with a good small meal for the two of us. It will be pork of something! LOL

Yes another day!! I'm feeling better, sleeping all night helped & I get to sleep again tonight.
Acid reflex is a kicker, my new meds. for my blood pressure has made the reflex worse. So I need to try not to have any cola's or choc. this has helped, also I need to try and stay away from tomato products.

So my diet will be very simple:
Breakfast: oatmeal with skim milk & some berries
Lunch: arnold wheat bun, fat free deli turkey lunch meat on lettuce, & fruit
Dinner: 4oz skin less grilled chicken, side salad, steamed vegs."carrots, cauliflower, broccoli" glass of skim milk.
Snack: fat free yogurt & fiber bar.

I have not check out the WW daily points, but it must be around 24?

Well my knitting is calling for me, have a great night ladies.

awww.. my god! dinner was soooo goooood! sigh.
I had some of the apetizers.. we had a combo plate.. and DS, DH and I split that.. so.. it was not to evil.. don't ask me what it all was, but the reg stuffl.. like grape leaves and flafel? sp etc.. humus and chickpeas.. lots of good stuff.. but I had very little.
for the main course.. I had a gyro sandwich.. and it was plenty...
everyone else had baklava for desert.. but I passed..
I came home and had a skinny cow.. yeah!
so.. it was a very very good dinner. I think I did pretty good and still had a lovely meal. I had water.. with crystal light..
so... not excactly WW friendly.. but.. .. another day tomorrow.. and I can already hear the stairmaster screaming my name! LOL
