I just looked at week 3. If you do that you won't have a low carb day before a carb up day, which, unless you get to the special menus for holidays, including cheat days and deplete days w/ several days of planning ahead, really IS the norm. But heck, try it. See what your body does and if it doesn't work, no biggie, just go back to the plan.

Mary and I were typing at the same time
![]() Hey, you know what I just noticed???? Looking at pg 166 of Crack...weeks 3-4-5-6 are IDENTICAL. Then if you look over to pg 167, it lists week 5 and week 6, and they are the same (although different from weeks 4-6 at the bottom of page 166.) Then I remembered we shouldn't do more than 2 weeks the same.... So I went back through the chapters...the error is on the bottom of page 166, Cross off where it says Weeks 4-6. That should say "week 4" (only). I can't look at this anymore, lol! Have a good night all ![]() Kathy |

I did not have cream cheese until I had been in the WOE for about 6 months. I can do it on a carb-up day. Just watch the calories in your dairy products! |

Here it is, Scarlette!
"I'm a dairy lover, too and have it on my carb-up days. If I'm really wanting a glass of cold milk, I may have about 4 ozs...it hasn't hurt me, but it may slow the progress, but I want to be able to live with this WOE and not let it consume my every thought!!!!" |

You are welcome. Sometimes we just need to take a deep breath and "try" something. Your clothes/scale will let you know if it is good for you. If not, then eliminate it until later in the program and then try it again. Our bodies are constantly changing and adapting to this cycling. I know that if I do too many carbs on carb-up or "free" day, I will gain, as I am very carb sensitive. Some on this WOE are not. You will learn how your body responds in a short time.
One thing I did learn... I didn't make too many tweaks in the first 6-7 months. And my results have been very good overall! So glad you are here with us! WTG!

Like Cindi and Mary said, milk is on carb up days only. Unless you want to make it a tweak and see if it hurts you. Quote:

question about wendy chant's diet
Hello all,
I just recieved the 2nd book, Conquer the Weight loss and just wondering about the 1 week of the diet. Is it different from the 1st book? I saw on some of the threads about not eating carbs at all the first week, but in the Conquer book you can have a starch with one meal on the carb down days. is this correct for the 1st week. I am confused, if anyone can help me, I would appreciate your advice..Thanks Jen |

Thanks for that post, i also bought Conquer instead of Crack and I did not see a full week depleted of carbs, but now I understand, thank you. Also, just wondering about nuts and avocados? Can you have them if you add them in your count?
Thanks, Jen |

That's exactly how I had my biggest success- 8.5 lbs in 6 weeks- doesn't seem like alot, but for me it is, and I was actually sane and satisfied while doing it. Because I have that weekly Sabbath Saturdays, which is like 3 Thanksgivings , and can't seem to deplete (or even carbdown easily)I was stalling, so I had only one carb-up a week, (Sabbath)- and the rest of the time had B days, mostly, but with only one small starch - using very little wheat and grains.Bottom line is , we have to see what's good for each of us- what's good for one may not be for the other- the idea is the same- to cycle carbs- and their types, up and down, within our comfort zones. Good luck to all!!!

I was better with my Deplete menu yesterday and stuck to the plan.
B ne whole egg and egg whitw from another egg, a little shredded cheddar, broccoliL:spinach, parmesean on top, chicken breast S: chicken breast cut up, a little mayo (like chicken salad) D: salmon, broccoli, about 8 cups herbal tea (because I was hungry!) So, I weighed this morning and I had lost 2 pounds. Probably water weight but still.... ![]() Have a great day everyone! |

![]() The next time you are in a store pick up the flavored egg beaters I should work for them, but they've come a long way ![]() Re cream cheese...I had it in omlettes during deplete week. The book says "cheese" / one serving of fat at each meal and the texture as it melts is really satisfying. Cream cheese and spinach in a small pocket cut into a chicken breast and roasted would be a good thing too ![]() Have a super day all... Kathy |

)That's wonderful- yes, it may be mostly water weight, but who wants water weight?? I was kinda fine about the mayo- just a bit though- though after W1 we have to stick to 20gr of bad fat a day, so if it's not a good fat based mayo I would call it that.... We need the fat W1, as we are slashing carbs, and don't want to go overboard w/ proteins. Same w/ cream cheese- I would count it into the 20 gr of "bad fats", but only after W1 because of the carbs. |

Morning Tam. Jackie, Kathy and anyone else I might have missed.
Kathy, I don't like egg beaters BUT you have convinced me to try again. Lindagem and Vladis, MADE me do green tea and it wasn't sooo bad. |
