That sounds good too, Kathy.

Ken and I had a baked turkey fillet with Wildtree Lemon and Rosemary spice blend and Wildtree Roasted Garlic grapeseed oil (soooooooo good!) and steamed broccoli with lemon juice.

Loved it! I'm using up all the stuff in my freezer before our seminar this Saturday!

Zucchini Hummus

1 large zucchini in summer or 2 small zucchini in winter (at least in PA)
1/2 cup Tahini
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Cumin
1 Large Garlic Clove
Sprinkle of Paprika

Peel the zucchini until all the green skin is removed. This is very important! Not peeling the zucchini will make it chunky and green, not like hummus at all. Slice peeled zucchini into smaller pieces. Combine all ingredients except Paprika into food processor and blend until creamy and thick. If not desired consistency add a little bit of water while blending. Serve in a bowl or store Zucchini Hummus in a plastic container (I re-use a plastic store bought large hummus container) and sprinkle with paprika. Great garnishes or hummus variations can include other fresh or dried herbs, sun dried tomatoes, red peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, olives, or pine nuts.
this sounds great. How does it taste compared to regular hummus. Before going on this road, hummus was my staple!! I loved it.

It's a bit on the sweet side. It comes out like a nice big pancake, a bit on the crispy side.

However, I'm still really motivated to stick with it, since my total weight loss has been over 7 lbs!

Does anyone have a good substitute for Power Oats I could try? I would have replaced it with regular flavored Quaker Oats, but I was afraid that the sugar content would be too high. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Scarlett, I sometimes have Fiber One cereal (1/2 cup) with a scoop of protein and 2 tablespoons of ground golden flax seed. Then enough water to make the consistancy I like. You can use any flavor protein mix. I prefer strawberry or vanilla. EAS brand is my choice.

The "no energy" will pass. Last time I depleted it took my longer to "bounce back". I think was because I still had lots of stress in my life!

Keep up the good work...the WOE will work. Just watch your choices. I use Stevia, an all natural plant herb. No ill effects for most of us.

I'm a dairy lover, too and have it on my carb-up days. If I'm really wanting a glass of cold milk, I may have about 4 ozs...it hasn't hurt me, but it may slow the progress, but I want to be able to live with this WOE and not let it consume my every thought!!!!

No, it has more of a French Toast flavor. I put cinnamon on top.

Hi Crackers!
Great job everyone, I took the summer off and had lots of fun and food, so now its time to get serious. Good for all of you who kept on going you don't have to restart the struggle again, you kept up the good fight.
It time for me to get back on track, I have been so busy and have gained back almost all my weight, I have had to dig through the closet to find a few bigger things UGgg!I restarted today 1st day of Conquer and felt lousy all day.
My bP was up so Doc put me on meds and I don't think they like me.
I was online today and saw every other day diet has anyone heard of this one?
Sounded kind of similar to this.
Have a great evening Day 2 Week 1 tommorow.
It is good to get going again, Its been far too long.

Scarlett I'm with you those power oats are disgusting, I just ate the oatmeal and drank the shake.
Jackie how are doing on Jons program?
It was motivating to see some of you who started after me having lost and maintained way to go!!!!

Hi Crackers!

Just stopping in for a few minutes to say HI!!!

Again, we are trying really hard to stay healthy. Not sure if it's working. I put Collin to bed tonight with a headache and achy body. I gave him some tylenol so maybe that will do the trick. I have battled a headache all afternoon. I am feeling okay right now but I am reaaly tired (that's a regular thing). Had a rotten day with my group of kids. UGH! They were little pistols with NO listening ears! I hope to not relive a day like this again!

Eating wise, I did okay. know what I need to do to get back on track, it's just having the will power to actually do it and follow through. One of these days. I did try on a pair of my favorite fat girl jeans the other day and I still swim in them. YEAH!!! My problem area right now is my stomach and with no time to exercise,. that's not going anywhere! GRRR!

Okay, I need to check on a few other thigns yet efore heading to bed so I'll chat with you tomorrow.

BTW, my mom is now battling H1N1 too. Please send me some anti-sick prayers. I am going to need them!!!!! Maybe, the sickness could just hold off for a couple weeks! That would be awesome!!!!!

Take Care!
Penny

These can be had ANY day (except deplete) but must be counted as your starch.

Also there are variations of the crepes/pancakes that the ladies made here:

Week 1, Day 1 pretty much done! I have done well but feel tired right now. That is probably because the dogs had me up at 1:30 am and then hubby came home from working late at 2am. Needless to say, that is probably why I am tired. Although I am a little headachy too.
Managed to get to the gym too but doesn't look like I will tomorrow - DD is home sick with a sore throat and fever and she is just miserable .
Just finished my Atkins shake and it tasted good - just have to wait and see how my tummy handles it now Off to bed in 2 hours - just hope I can stay awake till then.

[quote=Kathy5066;12633130I did thanks

Despite my best efforts, even though I'm not a junk food or sweet eater, I kept adding weight each year. I had ordered Nutri-system the very end of July and PROMPTLY sent it back <QVC>. Yuck! But for the balance of August I just concentrated on smaller portions, frequent meals, EATING B-FAST and low glycemic (sp?) carbs. I lost about 10-11 lbs in August and didn't want to put it back on. Then I saw something about carb-cycling, found Wendy's books and started "crack" in September. My goal is pretty modest from this point. If I can lose 2 lbs a week I'll be just tickled In fact if I can maintain through December, I'll STILL be tickled!

This plan really seems like something I can live with.

TC,
