Wheeeeee!
What a fab idea. I am in. My goal body/hero for a while has been Lisa Lyon so this suits me down to the ground.
I have a long long ways to go (starting at just a squeak under 200 pounds) but that is the sort of shape I ideally want to get into.

I was, many years ago, a nude life model and it was awesome fun, it would be great to have the option to go back to that too.

I'm in! I need a challenge...

By October 13, 2010, I will
  • Run 5K in under 30 minutes
  • Fit back into all my cute clothes
  • Take a picture that doesn't make me cringe
  • Have a body good enough for a magazine cover, even if it never appears on one
I guess I'd better start setting the alarm a little earlier...

I'm in as well...actually Oxygen magazine has an issue out right now..called "Get off the Couch." Inside there is a transformation contest where you would take a before and after picture. It lasts to Feb 2010. Prize is $1000. Robert Kennedy, the publisher, says let all hang out basically...no holding in the tummy...

I decided to give it a try..

Ok so yesterday my exercise not so great... as I was getting ready to start my tape my 3yr old decided to have a sevire tantrum cause she didn't want mommy exercising..
Well I did an upper body work out instead with my 3lb weights. Since I only have such light weights right now and moneys super tight I actually am trying something new to me, I'm doing each exercise untill I can no longer do that exercise anymore, then I take a few min rest and move on to the next.
My location at work has changed too so my every day walking has increased too, my jobs about 6 nice sized blocks from the train station, sometimes I take a long way when I have enough time to get 7/11 coffee...
I am very excited for this, I think we can all do it, and we should all do it.
I really need to concentrate on getting my exercise up. What is everyone doing? I have a few dvds and my wii (which I like never use anymore)
I have 10 in 10 callanetics, am pm, and evolution
30 day shred, biggest loser yoga, and cardio max

I have a wii, the ballance board, 3lb weights, exercise bands, a giant ball to do situps on...

I know I'm limited but that's what makes this challenge more fun

In the Off the Couch issue from Oxygen..Tosca Reno mentions about Sabotage. Kids, spouses, boyfriends, friends, parents, relatives, co-workers, etc., are trying to distract you from your goal. They aren't being mean but they aren't used to the driven and determined you.

I'm going to focus on my goal and nothing is going to stop me.

It is a special edition. They have an abs, glutes, Lose the Fat, issues that come out every so often, too.

Check your bookstore...like Barnes and Noble or Borders.

Now you'll find all the good articles! My trainer laughed at the 21 day diet. One of the snacks suggested was a small jar of fruit baby food! I think I'll stick with what I'm doing now.

I get so upset that I can't follow those diets in the magazines! I know if I followed that diet i'd gain weight like an idiot...
What I dont get is why is it that the chick on the cover is that heavy and has no cellulite.. if I was that big and didnt have cellulite I would have never dieted? lmao

Count me in. I am doing the countdown to my 50th birthday, just about a year and a half from now. Tosca Reno is one of my heroes because she was about my age when she started her fitness routines.

I am planning 7 workouts/week. Sometimes I do two in a day.
  • Bar method class (3or more/week)
  • Running to prepare for 5K (2 or 3/week)
  • Workout with trainer (2/week)

My eating plan is Weight Watchers because I find that I need the really strict guidelines.

Thanks for starting this!!!

Is it too late to get in on this. I am going to work on running and callanetics. Eventually (probably early next year) i'd like to start a weight program like p90x or something similar. I can commit to 4 days a week of exercise. I run 4 times a week. And would like to get back in the swing of doing callanetics 3 times a week.

(I'm not entering the contest but i'd love to look as good as a fitness model)

I'd like to join in, despite the fact that I'll look like a really fit Shar-Pei when nekkid. But I'll look like a 54-year-old hottie with clothes on, which is tres cool, and wanna be in prime shape when my family from Atlanta comes to visit in February. So I'll buy the magazine and *gulp* consider entering the actual contest. (I wonder if they accept Canadians?)

ok so today I was so sore, like take asprin sore....
so instead of just not exercising, I dusted off my wii fit and did 30 minutes...
I have decided that will be my am exercise before work.. I use to do it all the time, then I stopped doing it for a long time, now im going to start doing it again in the morning before work, then my exercise dvds and such at night..
along with my blocks of walking back and fowarth to work I think I'll be on my way to be fit in no time!

oh btw I made yocheese for the first time, mixed a few table spoons with some splenda, vanilla and banana extract OMG YUMMMMMO!

hey I was thinking of trying that diet in the oxygen thing.. but my question is since
I dont eat carbs, what does everyone think I could replace all the carbs with? I see they say you can replace the oatmeal with a protein shake, but like the rice and stuff? a veggie like cauliflower or maybe cabbage?

The first step to getting up early to exercise is getting to bed early enough - didn't happen last night and not happening tonight... I love my job and I'm glad to be working for a company that's doing well, but it hasn't been very good for my health. My routine before I started there was jog 3x/week and upper body weights at the gym 3x/week and that's what I want to get back to. So - I've gotten back in the groove for eating well, Sunday will re-start Couch to 5K, Monday will be back in the gym.

Fruit baby food as a snack? Really, how satisfying would a little jar of that be?

Currently I walk 60 min 5 days per week (to and from work) and train with a personal trainer for 2 hours per week. I want to start using that same timeslot on my non-training days to do either a workout DVD, or use my elliptical machine or even go to the gym on my own and lift.

I don't follow low carb, I have been doing really well on Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin program and plan to keep doing that, but more to the letter than I have been of late.

Today is my first day back at work after my honeymooon so I had all kinds of resistance going on to getting out of bed this morning - I am easing back in and hope that I can settle into a good routine of exercise next week.

I have my personal training session tomorrow morning and I am looking forward to it. It is a HUGE workout that damn near kills me and I LOVE it.
