WENDY CHANT CRACK THE FAT LOSS CODE FOR OCTOBER 12, 2009

Welcome to the Code Cracker Challenge Board!!!

Please look over this post for helpful links and suggestions!

This is a continuation of the Wendy Chant “Crack the Fat-Loss Code” WOE Challenge Board! Please refer to prior challenge threads and the Other Diets board for general diet information and pick up the book, "Crack the Fat-Loss Code" for full diet information, guidelines, cycling schedules, sample menus, menu logs and more!

Whether you are just starting with the Cycle 1, Week 1 Carb Deplete or you are somewhere along the way, jump on in!! There are people at all levels of the Wendy Chant Way in here. This is a great group of helpful people who will be a great resource and support group for you.

Remember to weigh and measure yourself or select a pair of slacks to judge your losses by – you can choose whether you want to report your stats to the group or not … up to you … but you definitely need a measure of your progress.

Since we have so many levels, it's helpful when you ask questions or claim braggin' rights, if you mention in your postings what cycle, week and day you are on! Especially since the first weeks do have some restrictions that the latter weeks don’t.

Be sure to post tips and such too – especially if you’ve already been doing CTFLC for awhile now! And don't forget to share your menus! That is helpful for others, but also a good measure for others to help you should you encounter any problems yourself!

This is the place to share your weight loss successes, your personal story, your mistakes, grab some support, give some support ... whatever it is. We're here for you and each other. It really is a great group
Sooooo, how 'bout we get Crackin'?! LET'S DO THIS!!!

Crack The Fat Loss Code - Recipes

~CRACKERS LEARNING TO CRACK THE EXERCISE CODE~

This challenge is based on the 8-week program from "Crack the Fat Loss Code" by Wendy Chant. This challenge is open to any and all “Code Crackers” who are at any Cycle, any Week of the CTFLC program, whether it’s Cycle 1, Week 1 or Cycle 4, Week 8 or somewhere in between, and to those who are curious to watch and learn.

In brief, the 8 week program is divided into four cycles.

Cycle 1: Carb-Deplete Cycle – WEEK 1
This is the toughest week! For 7 days you will be restricting certain foods – mostly carbs – in order to manipulate the glycogen stored in the muscle. During this cycle you’ll be shutting off the body’s dependence on sugar and also teach it where to find the fat stores for energy! This week you will be counting carbs very closely so your veggies are somewhat limited and fats are more focused on the good fats. But, if you carefully follow the cycle you will never have to count carbs again!

Cycle 2: Macro-Patterning Cycle – WEEKS 2-4

Now you’ll move into what is called the Macro-Patterning Cycle. This is where you begin to slowly re-introduce carbs into your life, teaching the body to burn fat while slowing down the adaptive response. During week 2, you will begin to bring most of the foods that you consume regularly back into your daily meals. You will see less rigidity in the meal plans—and more substitutions. For best results, it is recommended that you continue to abstain from alcohol on carb-up days during Week 2. During Week 3, you will have two carb-up days, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. After this week is the best time to add in sweets and alcohol on your carb-up days.

*There are 3 kinds of days in Cycle 2.

Baseline Days

This is where you are teaching your body to adapt. You will be taking in the basic nutrients your body needs through proteins, you’ll take in good fats, but you’ll be adding in one starchy food at two different meals in your day, so long as you eat them before 3:00 p.m.

Carb-Down Days

These are days where you will have a more minimal starch intake to force your body to use fat as an energy source. One these days you will still get your fats from good fat sources, and you will consume one starch before 3:00 p.m.

Carb-Up Days

This is where you will increase your starches to stoke the metabolic rate and give the body what it needs for repair and growth. Your last 2 meals on this day will be primarily carbs! Yes, you can splurge on those usual forbidden foods – bread, desserts, pizza and even alcohol. We call these days Food Passes and you have two of them a week, typically on Wednesdays and Sundays, but the beauty of this plan is that you can adjust these Carb Up Days as needed for special occasions, making it very convenient and totally interchangeable.

Cycle 3: Accelerated Fat-Loss Cycle – WEEKS 5 & 6

For the 3rd cycle, you will begin to pick up the pace! You will continue to follow the same types of days that you did with the Macro-Patterning Cycle, but you will change how they are cycled in order to increase the body’s use of fat stores.

Cycle 4: Maintenance Cycle – WEEKS 7 & 8

The 4th cycle is all about teaching your body to reset back to a higher nutrient profile in favor of carbohydrates and fats. During this cycle you will get 2 new days – a cheat day where you can have any food you like – including any carbs you’ve missed, and you’ll also get a High-Carb Day where you have clean starches all throughout your day. If you have made your goal by this week, you will use this cycle to maintain. If you seek to continue your weight loss, you will restart your program at Cycle 2.

Let's get crackin'!!

I found quite a few things today to make a fireman costume. Very exciting. I spent 1 1/2 hours in Goodwill this morning and then sent my mom back to pick up three things Idecided not to get the first time. Thank G*D the cashier remembered me and was able to pull the things right back out and bag them up for her. I have decided against the R2D2 costume as I can't find a round garbage can. Every one I was today was oval! UGH!!! Maybe I will keep looking and one of the boys can be that next year. I found a great find at Goodwill (mom picked up), a three piece set of clothing nbasically that I will use to make a Yoda costume for Collin. I will need to make a hat with green pointy ears, a set of Yoda glove hands and find a lightsaber! Ought to be interesting. I can't wait to get them dne so I can show you guys. I hope the kids like them!!
Whew you are quick- you're almost finished w/ the costume by now!
I just can't keep up with the thread here!
Whadja do with the other one?

The couple that wants to buy the retreat has offered us a lower offer, since the last contract fell through. We may take it and do owner financing with a 5 year balloon...with property prices still sinking in FL, and with DH at 67 we want to live in a motorhome and travel, ministering along the way as the LORD gives opportunity. This couople will continue to run the retreat which will make our church groups happy!

Agree with others that Cracking is my WOE, too. Welcome to the Newbies and the (as LindaGem said) the returnees! Good to see the thread running active! Means that we older ones need to stay on our toes!!!!

Night to ALL!
Can't imagine you w/o your retreat! Good luck! I can comiserate w/ wanting to downsize at some point!

Sorry to have gone AWOL on you. It's been busy here. Like Dede, I see all the newbies asking questions, and just can't get to answer- thanks to all the faithful oldies that took care of it all so thoroughly!
STILL no baby news- DDIL went back to work after the holiday, and DD is once again doing laundry to keep up for when she "dissapears"- the monitors have shown all is well w/ the babies- hope nobody has to be induced.
All the guests have left, and though they cleaned up after themselves b4 they left, the house looks like a tornado hit. Piles of laundry, clean and yet to be washed in the laundry room, and the floors need some TLC.
Got to go get dressed pronto- the dishwasher's leaking and the guy's coming soon to take a look. I have to empty it out also b4 he comes....
DS12 is a mess, he had to get up at 6:45AM this morning, and his big brothers are still asleep- they go back to school next week. He chewed off my ear, and will be back from prayers in 45 minutes to get a bite and go off to school. The next few days will be rough until he gets back on schedule... tomorrow he has to be out the door at 7:10 AM for the whole day- prayers will be at school again. No hot lunches at his school, so I have to pack food for the day.
I must must get back on the wagon- I am feeling absolutely lousy, and should do a deplete, but am not sure I can survive it. Started easing back in to healthy eating yesterday- it was a relief to go to bed with an almost empty stomach for a change... Last year's holidays were so much more successful WOE wise- this year the damages must be simply horrendouss- I'm afraid to get back on the scale.... I'm the only one in this giant household (sans DH who's put on afew lbs lately...) that has to watch what I eat, and it's hard to be the one who puts all that food on the table!

Better run- hope to have some time to give Y'all some attention later!!

Mornin Crackers!

I'm off today and will be cleaning a bit. Then going to shop for a couple of pairs of nice slacks. Badly in need of some. My eating was not very good over the weekend,(with the football party and all),then ate the leftovers yesterday.I'm going to do a 3 day deplete to get back on track and exercise for at least an hour this morning.

Tam-why don't you join me in a 'mini deplete'? That and plenty of water will make you feel lighter quickly.

Suanne-Just keep up the good work. Don't be afraid of adding the carbs back. It is a necessary part of the plan so that your body doesn't get used to the pattern you've been following. As Mary said, some people gain a pound or 2 that second week but I think it is just some of the water lost during the deplete. I lost 18 pounds my first 8 weeks.

Vladis-Did you have fun with your company? I know you're excited about your trip this Friday. Are you all ready?

Okay, going to walk and ride my bike. Check back in later.

Hi dede and Tam~~I'll be more than happy to join you in a mini deplete. I gave up trying to stick to my plan last wednesday. I need it badly. Thank G** I walked a lot on Saturday at the faire and yesterday we parked at a building that DH is working at and walked to the football stadium from there. I even used the steps instead of the elevator when we got there

dede~~I was stunned about the loss. DH and I headed out of the stadium 2 min before the game ended. We were standing near the concession booths watching that last 30 sec. I kept saying all through the game, that they seem to be out of sync. Just going through the motions but it felt like they lost their oomph.

to all the newbies. I am so glad you found us. You have no idea how much your enthusiam means to me. I need it right now to get ME back on track.

Good morning, Ladies!

Another busy day ahead as I have to get a lot done to be ready to leave on Friday.

I am happy to report that my weight stays stable (even though I would love to shed another 10 pounds). I am just done with tom and no exercise all week (except for free weights) and, of course, some extra curricular recreational eating as well. So, overall not a bad outcome.

Hi Dede I will do all days carb downs before my trip to CA on Friday. AND, I am planning on going to the gym every day till Friday

I can't wait to go. It's been 20 years since I saw some of my friends last. It will also be great to get away from here even if just for a few days.

Hey Gemi ! I am also happy to see all the newbies here. I just hope they know to follow us here from the previous thread.

Linda, I don't remember if I mentioned that, I made no-bake power bars from Tosca's new book - GRRRREAT! Especially if you are on the go and need a quick snack. I am planning to make a few to take with us on the plane (if they let me) so we can avoid eating all that foul food.

MARY!!! Thank you for starting the thread!!!

Posting for Tonia

I answered on last week's thread.

Like others, I saw the Oct. 26 article on CTFLC on the cover of FIRST and was intrigued. I am going to turn 59 next week, I'm only 5'2", and in spite of being active and doing a regular workout since my 30's, I slowly packed on an extra 30 pounds. Between trying many diets and doing a fair amount of fasting (for spiritual and health reasons) over the years, I know my metabolism is about dead in the water.
Five years ago I did lose 22 pounds wonderfully and easily on the Lean Bodies Plan, but have slowly put that back on too. However, I can't seem to even get that going again; not enough resolve perhaps! Wendy's program looks perfect for me to get going again.
I join others in thanking you for all the work in posting these helpful things. I do have one question: do your posts reflect the changes (or is it additions) Wendy made in her second book? (I ordered the first book, apparently).
Thanks, Tonia

Hey guys. Got called into work for a few hours due to a call in.

Vladis-sounds like a good plan. Can you post or just send me the recipe for those bars?

Mary-forgot to say thanks also for the new link. You are so good to us!

I'll check back in later this afternoon. Hopefully won't have to work all day. I did have a few plans.

Yes, you did mention it. Can you post the recipe sometime this week? I would love to make them. So much better than buying the junk ones out there. I could take them to the football game or on the drive to NY. I always need something and end up eating badly.

It doesn't have the 'Deplete' 1st week, but for me, it seems very clear cut and organized. I like the exercise piece as well, as I know this is part of my weight challenge.
And btw...HI from Texas...Georgetown, just North of Austin. My background: Age 50 in years, but spirit is very young and very sassy! Single mom of 2, divorced and focused on career and kids for 12 years. Just not focused on me. I have real bad knees from years of athletics and then years of being overweight. I will figure out how to get around that with this program. I have always struggled with my weight due to thyroid disease, which I finally had removed in '06. All other health is GREAT, but have a jacked up metabolism due to all the dieting, no exercising, comfort eating, no exercising, age, peri-menopausal, etc. As I am sure with a lot of you 'crackers' you have jumped on Atkins, Zone, Jenny Craig, Optifast, Medifast, etc. and in all cases had some real success, but got bored or my busy lifestyle kept derailing me (or did I just use that as an excuse). I am really just so tired in having to think about it, etc. I am about a step away into looking at the lap band procedure, but want to dig in and do this from here until the end of the year..an honest, 100% effort. I have between 80-100 lbs to lose, but would really just like to get 10% of my weight off my body as a starting goal (about 30lbs).
Ladies...I promise I will be here to post, ask questions, etc. I am a 'newbie' to the program, but not a newbie to nutrition and low-carb livestyle. I have read a looked at both books; have them here side-by-side, and have decided to follow the conquer plan and also to journal. In the past when I have journaled and wrote things down, it really help hold myself accountable.
Does anyone know what is going on with Wendy? Her website goes to another site and then when I did find her website, it is way, way out of date. The phone number of her business is not being answered...and I hear...she is very ill???
Whatever is going on with Wendy and her business...hope it gets resolved quickly--my prayers for her...
Heading out to the Vitamin Store now to get the L-Carnitine, Liptropics, Protein Powder and some additional multi-vitamins. I do believe in supplements since so much of our food has been depleted---and besides, it can't hurt.
Thanks so much for all the great info!
Lori
Hi, Lori, and welcome to this group! The more the merrier! We love newbies! Y'all keep us on our toes! And, I'm from Georgetown, Indiana!

Exercise is important. I do the principles of "Crack", through food combining, and I use Leslie Sansone's Walk DVD's. They really have changed my exercise perspective!

Also, many of us on here use a product called "Baxyl". GO the the website by that same name and read about it. It has totally taken away all my knee pain. Penguin, Sara and Lindagem use it. Dede uses it....still liking it dede? It is an amazing product. If you want to try it, there is a website where you can get it cheapest. It is simply a plant-based form of hyalluronic acid.

I have numerous health issues which includes the inability to exercise. I visited the suggested website in the article and, once again, there's the issue of exercise. I'm (frankly) "age enhanced", have very bad knees, but the main issue is a damaged diaphragm (the scar tissue slides out from under my rib cage). Does this diet depend on doing exercises?

Also, does this plan work well in households where your SO/hubby/wife don't need to lose weight? I'm "old school" (pre-women's lib) and plan evening meals my hubby will eat (he's picky).

So, in other words...HELP!

And, BTW, glad to meet 'cha...
It does work well with split households. My husband is mostly vegan, definitely vegetarian, and Crack is not very vegetarian friendly. So, I make the stuff for me and he eats the parts he can, or when I cook what he wants, I eat the parts of it I can and stay away from what I shouldn't. You will really enjoy it. On Crack, exercise is not promoted like it is in Conquer. Like everyone said, Carol has enjoyed tremendous weight loss and is not able to exercise alot. She does do some water exercise. Are you able to do that?

Welcome to the group. We are happy to have you here.

Yogamom: Welcome! I use full-fat 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee, but have cut down to about 1 tsp. and a serving is 2 Tablespoons. My findings have been that fat-free products have sugar added to help change the taste and texture since the fat has been removed. Our body turns sugar into fat, so I just go ahead and use the full fat. Just not as much. It hasn't hurt me.

My advice for week 1 is to do it exactly as written. Use only the substitution list that is in the book for week 1. It is more than just keeping your carbs below 20 grams this week. It is only eating specific carbs in order to fully deplete your glycogen. Very important that you do it exact. IF not, you have to do it over until you do it exactly. That's the only thing about week 1.

You can do it!

Penquin~~The festival was great. Food, music and shows were a lot of fun. Lots of vendors also. parenfaire.com......if you purchase your tickets online they are $5.00 cheaper per person and no waiting in line to get in. This is the first time for me ever and I really did enjoy it.

Ok got to get in the shower, put dinner in the crockpot and get to the game. Eating is totally off and I will be depleting starting tomorrow. Isn't that just wonderful!!!
Depleting, Linda! So sorry! Although, really I do enjoy a deplete week sometimes!

I am in Indy, taking care of 2 very sick granddaughters. I'm suspecting they probably have the swine flu, they have fever, sneezing, coughing, chills, bodyaches........I'm giving them Tylenol to help with the fever and Emergen-C. They are very healthy kids as they have always used the liquid vitamins I use and it helps to keep them in shape!

The one thing I am going to do for the Protein Shake in the afternoons---since I am at work, I am going to bring the Atkins ready made. They taste good and meet Wendy's requirements: <1g sugar, <6g of carb, close to 25g of protein. I have to keep everything easy and convenient or I will find a way to sabatodge myself (I am my own worst enemy).
Lori
Oh, dear Lori, please do not let Kelley hear you say you are going to weigh in weekly! She will voodoo your scales.. and post the most horrific picture on here! I'm serious, look out!!!! Don't get Kelley going on this! Lori, many of us used the Atkins shakes. If you want a specialty coffee, go get an Americano at Starbucks, have them put in some SF Syrup and then a little cream. It is wonderful! Alissa also puts a Atkins Strawberry protein shake in her oatmeal for breakfast!

I join others in thanking you for all the work in posting these helpful things. I do have one question: do your posts reflect the changes (or is it additions) Wendy made in her second book? (I ordered the first book, apparently).
Thanks, Tonia
Welcome, Tonia! We love answering questions here, we love welcoming new people to our group! It keeps us going! Crack is a great plan. Many of us do modified versions, I do food combining with her principles, others do not use the artificial sweetners, etc.. As with any plan, you have to make it your own. The only stipulation is that Crack first week, must be done exactly as written. Substitutions used are the ones for week 1 only! Just let us know if you have any questions.

Hi to all my crack buddies! Love you all!

Hi mycattaz!! Just one question. Was last week deplete week? If it was, you'll have to restart and do the deplete week just right. I know, it is a pain but once you do it right you never have to do it again. I'm doing a few depletes this week also to clean out the junk in my body.

Hi "nurse" Jackie~~I would love to be taking care of sick grandchildren. They are in very good hands. I did not know that Ken is still Vegan. You handle your meals perfectly. Yes, I am doing a few depletes. If you knew what I ate (and drank) since last Wednesday, you would be standing there wagging your finger at me and saying, "bad girl." I know I will feel much better.

Hey Crackalakkers

Good morning my Crackalakkers!

and Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian Crackalakkers! I believe it is Columbus Day south of the border so Happy Columbus Day too!

Hope everyone is well - very chilly up here today. We went and saw that comedy with Vince Vaughn, I think it's called Couples Retreat?

I wishes half way through the movie that I could just press a button and be in Bali Bali - it looked so beautiful and WARM!

Anyway, we are having turkey feast (in a Crackalakker friendly kind of way) so better get crackalakking... have a great day everyone!

Me again.

OK, here's the recipe. It is not for every day on Crack diet but could be a great one for your carb up days. Now that I don't quite follow Wendy's plan, I do have it sometimes for breakfast with my coffee or, as I mentioned, if I have to be in a car and I still want to eat healthy. Anyway, you'll figure it out. Here it is:

No-Bake Nut Butter Energy Bars

1/2 cup agave nectar (or pure maple syrup)
2 TBSP coconut butter /oil
1 1/2 cup nut butter (I use almond)
3 cups oatmeal (NOT steel cut)
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup raisins, OR cranberries, OR coarsely chopped dried apple
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds (raw, unsalted)

1. Warm the agave (maple syrup) nectar, coconut butter and nut butter in a saucepan until ingredients are soft enough to combine easily when mixed. remove from heat.

2. Add oatmeal and protein powder and mix well. Then, add dried fruit, almonds and seeds. Mix well.

3. Press into 9-inch square pan. Let cool in the fridge and cut into squares.

1/16 of recipe:
Calories - 218
Protein - 7g
Carbs - 30g
Fat - 10g (sat fat - 2g, no trans fats)
Fiber - 4g
Sugar - 9g

No cholesterol.

Enjoy - KEEP IN THE FRIDGE!

I really should- not sure I am ready yet- I am in a foul mood today, very tired and stressed out. Haven't felt the sun on my skin for 1.5 weeks. During the holiday I left the house once- in the evening, and last night also. This is very bad for me. This morning was a disaster- I was planning an errand run- which would have quadruple effect- I would get moving- (pedometor is clipped on), get things done, and get out of the house, which means I would get away from the kitchen (too many leftovers in there- and morning is my hardest part) until lunch, and that would help me get back on track. The dishwasher guy finally showed up at 11AM, and by the time he left I was stressed out mess- I just don't want to go into it again, and ended up eating naughty leftovers. Had a nap this afternoon , but don't feel much better.
I wiped down the downstairs while I waited for him this morning, but the laundry is waiting, the house is still a mess, and I am in no mood to do any more housework. Aaargh.....
This is a very vicious cycle.... when I eat starch and sugar I feel much worse, but when I feel bad, I eat starch and sugar..... I'm reading a book about diet and fibromyalgia now, and am worried about allergies to eggs and dairy- a mainstay on our WOE... also, I am hungry all morning and don't have enough sources of good protein- last time I depleted I was still using protein powder- I can't tolerate the sweeteners in it, and have gone off of it- can't find any here w/o it. The only one I could find is soybased
I know I am ranting and raving- I am just in a very bad place right now, and am convinced that until I break w/ the bad stuff I won't feel any better.
Tomorrow I will spend the morning out- errands and supermarket order, and hopefully rejoin the gym on Wed.
My biggest goal right now is to get more sleep (Sat nite I barely slept- I was still up at 5:15AM- last night was better)
I've been trying melatonin supplements to get more sleep at night- DH tripped on the idea- so far- nada- it's supposed to be very helpful for FMSers.
Next goal is to get moving again- hopefully that will happen tomorrow and Wed....
I am so sorry for all this- I know you guys think I am some kind of superwoman- problem is, everyone in my house also thinks so, and right now I am depleted. DH is being super sweet to me- he hates when I get like this, but there's not much he can do for me-which frustrates him also.

Tam, knowing you, I am sure you will pull it off. You are a very strong woman all around.

Sorry Vladis, but this strong woman is NOT feeling strong, just "round"
I'd love to get away for afew days- I often do it after the holidays, but this year it's not going to happen- for financial and logistic reasons... If I can get the house back in order this week while the big boys are still home, next week I will be able to take it easy a bit, as we will be down to the three of us, and DS12 is out from 7AM til after 5PM.

Sorry guys- I'm a real "*****" right now- just ignore me....

Depleting, Linda! So sorry! Although, really I do enjoy a deplete week sometimes!

Just marking my spot for the week. I'll check in/out as I can. As before, good days/ bad days with my brother. Why is it that family has to "show themselves" during these difficult times? His wife is showing a really, really bad side of herself. She isn't making it very easy for me to visit right now. I had a long talk with by brother yesterday and sobbed the entire time. He is aware of the "mess" going on. This just breaks my heart. A snake in the grass family member has emerged and is stirring stuff up. Some things you cannot forgive people for and this is one of them. This should not be happening. Life should not be this way. Thank you for listening my friends. Take care all..

Wendy Chant's condition

Hello, responding to a poster's question about Wendy Chant's condition. In doing my first research on the CTFLC this weekend, I listened to the video that comes up on the alternate website when you try to go to Wendy's. The alternate website is "Get Lean in 12" and the video was posted just a few days ago by Shaun Hadsell, a colleague of Wendy's. He says she has Stage 4 colon cancer and is fighting for her life. Very sad, and we need to pray for her. A picture of her and Shaun is posted there that he indicates is fairly recent.

BTW, Thanks to Vladis for that recipe! I have been looking for a great home made energy bar to try when I'm past week 1. However, I have a ton of flaxmeal to use up and will probably incorporate that into it, since I like the nutty flavor of flax seed.

Thank you, Tonia. Sometimes Jerri comes in here and updates us, sometimes we get an email from Wendy with an update and whoever gets it posts it here. I think Mary did last time. I use flaxmeal all the time. I usually buy the whole flax seeds and then grind them up with a coffee grinder every day. I don't buy the flax meal because they say it goes rancid very quickly and loses it's nutrition as quickly. So I just keep the seeds in my refrigerator and grind them as I use them. I use them in my smoothie and also on Salads, on baked potatoes, the possibilities are endless!

NOt much to say - other than we are all with you, and you are in our prayers. It's good that you can continue being close to your DB, even though it's hard, and that she hasn't pushed you away.
It's hard, if not impossible, to understand the "why"s at times like this.
We don't choose the trials dealt to us, but we do choose our response and the way we deal with them. KUTGW, and may G-d be with you all.

Aw, T**, I'm sorry you are not feeling up to your old self right now! You are a strong woman though, you might be round too, but you are strong! And, I'm sure you are not as round as you feel! Love you, T**!

As for your daughters- one of them just went through a divorce, right? Maybe the other one can give her some slack... but go get them to listen...
Life isn't pretty sometimes, is it??

Going to get a giant glass of water, and dive into the unfolded wash.

I'm a Newbie

I just started today and I am not hungry but not really satisfied at all.
This is what I had so far:
Breakfast: Protein Shake (Americas WheY) Banana flavor, UGH
Snack: Hard boiled egg
Lunch: Romaine lettuce with lean turkey and pepper Jack cheese (2 slices)
rolled the meat and cheese in the romaine.

Thats where I am now and I am still hungry!

Hello Everyone.

I was just lurking last week. Tam I too have been in a big funk. Eating out of control and not sure what I am doing. Therefore, I thought it best not to pollute the thread and be a downer to all the newbies. I have been reading all the posts and it is wonderful to see 5 pages from last week. All the enthusiasm for the plan breathes new life into the group.

Well, I am back to feeling positive and ready to move on. Interestingly my issues are also dealing with the change of life issues. So a lot of confusion.

It's always good to read all the posts, and I have been doing that.

So, new week, new day, new resolve.

Love you guys.

Sara
