I put curry in tuna with eggs and celery, then serve it on a leaf of lettuce. Celery seed is also good with it as is poppy seeds. I make a tuna burger out of it. Since you can't have bread crumbs this week, grind up a few almonds to use as a binder along with an egg white. Put in the seasoning of your choice, hot sauce is good. THen either pan fry in a non-stick pan or bake in the oven on 350 until it crisps up. They're really good. I still serve it with lettuce (as the bread) and mustard.

Has snowbunny found her way here yet this week?
I haven't seen her yet. I also no nothing about the protein shots.
The tuna burger sounds good!

I had already been on a week of 'Whole Body cleanse' before yesterday..so this morning I woke up feeling much, much less bloated and the scale says I am already down 2 lbs. I know, I know--won't let the scale head fake me, but just feeling better. I had been watching it go up and up and up for so long, it is nice to have a morning of going the other way.
Made the egg poppers you guys posted last night and had 2 at 7am---before leaving for work YUMMY!!! Wow...held me until 9:30am when I had my cottage cheese. (back at work today---so I planned and packed my lunch/snacks last night)---Not sure who reminded us Newbies...but planning is KEY!
I am also keeping up and using the success planner that the majority of the Conquer book has --- 56 days. Helps to keep track of my eating and my water intake. I like being accountable AND it helps you to make sure you are eating enough throughout the day.
Had my delicious Lemon Pepper Grilled chicken breast with 1/2 cup of brown rice (Day 2 of conquer, P/S) for lunch today at my desk...
And have had lots water....
I am like another poster who said they were not into sweets/sugar etc..but the breads, pastas...yeah, my 'addiction or weakness' is CHEESE and really rich breads...so, I really have to watch the cheese intake... Love, love full rich foods and in Texas it's Mexican food --- all S/O ---
Planning on my Turkey Burger tonight after my DD High School Volleyball match....
Checking out the receipe thread today---please keep posting your favorites for us Newbies! It helps so much!
Kathy---congrats on your success! I am looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish after 5 weeks...I am just on day 2. Have you been exercising at all? If so--what and when?
Going to get a walk in later tonight...and then back to the gym tomorrow after work. That really seems to be the missing piece for me...
Thanks again ladies...I will continue to read every day!

Hey Lori,

<Hope I have the quoting thing right, lol>

I'm usually pretty active w/ the house, dogs, gardens, chores etc., but I haven't been doing anything structured. I thought I'd get through "Crack" then change to the second book and add something structured then...or if I'm not losing 2-3 lbs per week, pay more attention.

Good luck

Kathy

It appears that it would be okay but, frankly I don't think that would "fill me up". I don't like to "drink" my meals or snacks, I have to "think" I ate something. I think I may try it though to see what it does.

The next time I go to Walmart I'll pick up some. I thought I read somewhere that Costco had them also. I may need to put it in the blender, add ice and make a slushy if it's too concentrated.

2nd day of my deplete and it's going ok. I was a bit tired today and had a mild headache. Closed my eyes for 20 min and took some ibuprofen. I did get on the treadmill but only lasted 30 min. Yesterday I was better and did Leslie Sansone 3 mile walk. Tomorrow should be better.

Jackie - I will avert my eyes! I will have to admit I too was a sucker for the scales at the start of the program!

Lori sounds like yoiu are doing great! I'm glad you liked the popovers. I took them from the Atkins low carb board and made them more healthy - You know they go for the full fat everything!

Off to workout - I'm feeling lazy and it will be hard, but I know I will feel so much better afterwards!

how about taking the tuna, hard boiled eggs and you could use some cheese as a binder. I am making chicken breast stuffed with laughing cow cheese. I surrounded it with broccoli and but a little olive oil on it and then put montreal seasoning . Baking it @ 350 degrees.

Boy this sounds good to. I am going to have to jot this one down also.

Well when i went to the fitness center last night, I went ahead and jumped on the scale. It said 211.4. Tonight I got on-just because i was curious and it said 209.2. Could that really be right? So far I have done exactly like week 1 is suppose to go. I was a little tired today-but wasn't sure if it was because of the diet or else i could be coming down with something.....hope not.

Thanks for the encouragement. My name is Lisa (lmblitz). I am almost thru Deplete Week Day 2 on Crack the Code. It is interesting coming up w/different combinations of food to eat. I know Judy and I are on our way. I am w/WW also for last 21 months. Lost 50#s there and w/exercise. Had my knee replaced this past June and gained some of it back due to no exercise and recoup. Talked w/my doctor about "jump starting" w/Crack the Code. He was all for it. Depending on how I do in next 8 weeks, I may just stick w/plan. Still going to WW meetings for the discussions and to weigh in. I am looking for a larger than usual loss this Sat. morning! Thanks again!

I would think so. Especially if the carbs are as low as you said.

That sounds good. I could probably put it in my fruit smoothie every morning!

Lisa: Welcome! KUTGW! You will do very well on this plan as long as you stick to it! Some of us are now doing modified versions, but are doing very well. Some are even using WW too!

Once I posted the above message, I could go to the next page. That was weird!

Not hungry but seem to want something sweet

Had a successful day today, but now for the first time today I want something sweet. It is like I have a funny taste in my mouth. Guess its not bad since it is 9:42pm and almost time to go to sleep. Just finished knitting my afgan so trying to keep my mind off of it. Husband had some ice cream, but went into the other room to eat it. Sweet heart that he is!! Any suggestions to combat that sweet craving? Have a good night Judy

I am a newbie here, need advice!

I just read about the conquer the fat loss code in WW magazine and I am anxious to give it a try. I Just turned 50 in May, and went through menopause a couple of years ago. I have probaly gained about 40 pounds since then, and a lot of belly fat. Please tell me this plan will help me with this, I am very desperate, and miserable. Nothing I have tried seems to work. I just ordered the crack the fat loss book through amazon a few minutes ago, because the conquer book is not available until december. Does anyone have a short way of telling me how to get started before this book gets here. Is week 1 pretty much all carbs, and if so how much comsumption? Any help appreciated. I would love to hear any success stories of women close to my age who have dealt with the whole menopause, weight gain cycle. I never thought I would be this deperate even though I have always, had to work to keep my weight off.

Hi Taho...
I am a Day 2 newbie on the Conquer the Fat Loss Code...ordered off Barnes and Noble and it got here in 2 days...I have both books; read both and started with the conquer. I can totally and completely relate to the whole menopause thing...Turned 50 in May myself. I have been in perimenopause for almost a decade now and went full out rabid 'mad/depressed', etc about 18 months ago. I get it...had gained about 40 pounds and had just about given up until I found this plan. I will tell you, I did go to a very open and honest OB-GYN who discussed hormone therapy with me including synthetic, bio-identical and homopathic. I am doing a combo on several things under the Dr's supervision and it was a life changing move. Weight, mood, sleep, etc. all stablized, so now I am here and diving in 100% with this WOE (way of eating) and WOE (way of exercising).
I am a tall woman, 5'11" who can carry a lot of weight, but now I am between 80-110 lbs above my correct weight. I have fought and fought for 10 years, but have finally decided it is this or lap band and I am not ready for surgery.
I will make one comment about all these fabulous 'crackers' on this thread...I honestly don't want to offend at all---just a 'newbie's observation. I know Wendy uses the work 'deplete'...but eeewww, I don't like the sound of it...and everyone who is 'depleting' sounds so unhappy and deprived? Not so. It should be referred to as 'cleaning', 're-energizing',
metabo-lifting'..but not depleting. I am on my 2nd carb down day, and tired---but I will take this feeling over the bloated, foggy-headed feeling I had been chosing for myself for months/years.
This is a great place for celebration, venting, honesty and support...it is anything but depleting...
Sorry for the soapbox...deplete should not = sad...
I am too much of a newbie to quickly explain the cracker lifestyle...but one of these SR Crackers sure can. I know JoJomom is completing around week 6 of Conquer and has been quite successful.
All of the 'Crackers' here have been successful.
I have challenged myself to take 10% of my current weight off by the 1st of the new year-about 30 lbs. Stablize and then do another 10%...I like small chunks---easier to deal with.
Had a great 2nd day...looking forward to my 3rd day...Carb up!
Have a wonderful Wednesday Crackers!
Lori

T**, completely agree with you about the friends' trust issue. Things seem to be better today with my daughter. She is getting ready as we speak without any protest or tears about the fickleness of human nature. What hurt her the most is that her best friend proved to be not a friend at all and full of serious problems. The school suspended the friend for three days because she stole DD's idea, used it as her own and when confronted by the teacher of the class for not giving credit to DD, she attacked DD verbally and physically..(threw pencils at her that narrowly missed her eyes, sent hate mail and kicked DD during art class)...Not pleasant, not easy to be a teenager nowadays.

Anyway thanks for the support from all of you and the shared stories, you are all great..

Let you know how the anti-bloating days go.

I did also. I have the URL saved on my screen always- the latest page- it wouldn't work- I had to go into lowcarbfriends and get to it through there- my URL still doesn't work, so I saved a new one, which does. Could be it got corrupted- Glad I could get in in the end..

You're better off starting with Crack- it's much more "life friendly"- and the deplete week is a powerful tool that seems to "fix our metabolism" and makes the whole program work better, though afew are swearing by Conquer.
The first week is mostly protein, with 20 gr of carbs a day, counted Wendy's way- a bit different than regular tables, and lower in fat than Atkins.
See the first post on page one of the thread to get more details.
Good luck!!

Good luck debloating!

I am so so happy your daughter is feeling better, though. I am sure your caring and support are very important to her.
Sounds like her "best" friend is having issues of her own.... the fact she was punished is a big validation for your daughter.
I just heard about a study- that we act in certain ways with certain people because we feel we can "get away with it"- like raising our voice on a spouse or child (in this case a "best" friend), but never on an employer, as the consequenses are much worse. This is bad to start with, but this friend hasn't even learned the boundaries of that yet.... some people never learn.

My son12 kvetched himself out the door this morning- tired, cranky, and misplaced a paper that belongs to his friend.... I could only sympathise, but couldn'thelp him- he'll learn....I'm happy he comes home happy though. He's not happy his brothers can sleep in, and he has to be at school at 7:30AM. Neither am I- I get up earlier especially for him, and the first thing I have to deal with is his foul mood, and packing his food.... I'm on my second cup of coffee now, and have to get moving so I get myself out on time.

I'm supposed to rejoin the gym today- I still have to call and see if my Pilates instructor is working this week- if not, I will put this off until next week. She's supposed to move about now, and may take some time off- I need her to "get back into things", and don't feel like paying for a half baked workout. Usually I go anyways when she's not there, but right now I am so "out of it" that it's not worth it, and I start paying again the day I start. Also have some shopping to do with the boys b4 they go back to school , so I would do that this morning... I'll see at 8AM when the gym opens.

SLeeping a bit better, though I just can't get more than 6-6.5 hours in.... 2 hours after I awake, I am tired again. This fatigue business is really messing me up... Hopefully as I "clean up my act" things will get better.....

Have a great day, everyone!!
