Suanne, DO NOT get on the scale. Most people have had a slight gain in week 2. You get to have CARBS this week and a carb up day. You don't count carbs anymore just fats.

Starting today!

I am starting today, but doing so based on the helpful posts you have put here for the first week because my book won't be here for a few days!
Like others, I saw the Oct. 26 article on CTFLC on the cover of FIRST and was intrigued. I am going to turn 59 next week, I'm only 5'2", and in spite of being active and doing a regular workout since my 30's, I slowly packed on an extra 30 pounds. Between trying many diets and doing a fair amount of fasting (for spiritual and health reasons) over the years, I know my metabolism is about dead in the water.
Five years ago I did lose 22 pounds wonderfully and easily on the Lean Bodies Plan, but have slowly put that back on too. However, I can't seem to even get that going again; not enough resolve perhaps! Wendy's program looks perfect for me to get going again.
I join others in thanking you for all the work in posting these helpful things. I do have one question: do your posts reflect the changes (or is it additions) Wendy made in her second book? (I ordered the first book, apparently).
Thanks, Tonia

Tonia~~Cindi and I are probably the oldest. I am 58 and Cindi is 62. Both of us prefer book 1. At our age, depleting our body of all the bad stuff was very important. I lost 16 lbs but have slacked off and will be doing a few deplete days this week. Cindi, dede, Sophia, Carol and a few others have had great success. We start a new thread each week and Mary posts a link every Sunday evening. Click on the link above to join us for this week.

I'll go ahead and post your message on the other board.

Thanks, Cindi. So I gather the second book does not have the first week of total carb depletion in it? I really do appreciate communicating with others my age about this eating plan. I will have to start tomorrow after all, forgot a social engagement this evening I can't change. But it includes Western Swing Dance lessons, so I'll get a little workout when I'm usually in my armchair reading.

I've never participated in any posting on websites like this, so thanks for the help out on getting me on the right thread.

G'Morning everyone!
Well day 1 of week 1 is done-beginning day 2 and eating my spinach omelet as i type to you.

Day 1 wasn't too bad. I am trying to get used to the olive oil/apple cidar dressing for the salad. I am sure I will get used to it.

Have you seen those 'Protein Shots' at Walmart? They come in like a giant plastic test tube and have less than 1 g of carb in them and 0 sugar. Would this be ok to do instead of the protein shakes?

What else can i do to tuna to make it taste better? I had that last night instead of salmon.

Hey snowbunny glad day 1 went well. I haven't seen the protein shots so idk.
I guess they would be okay with the info you put here.

Not a tuna fan so I can't answer.
