Let's Get to Onderland! 2009
I thought I'd start a new thread for us and anyone who wants to join. We're people trying to break the Onederland barrier. We each do our own plan as best we can. My goal is to get there by the end of the year!

I am here. I'm taking a few days to reanalyze, reorganize and figure out some things. I'm looking at the EFGT forum. Since fat is really keeps me satisfied - boy that seems like an oxymoron since fat is what I need to lose! - and I might be eating too much protein, I may try that. Whatever I decide, it's onward to Onderland by November ...

Well I've just calculated my calorie intake for the past 80 days and averaged it. Eighty days ago I weighed what I did this morning. I figure this would be an approximation of how many calories I need to maintain my present weight. It wasn't good news for me. I only need 1,700 calories to maintain my weight! It's little wonder I'm not losing weight. I need to get to 1,200 calories a day consistently to lose 1 pound a week. I'm going to try that and up my activity as well. Good news is I now have a plan. I wish us all success this month!

Well, I was hoping I wouldn't need to be on the "Let's Get To Wonderland" thread this month, but here I am. Actually, I had a fried fish meal for 2 days (with the best gall darn hush puppies I have EVER ate). Needless to say, I'm up a few pounds. Oh well, i've got 30 days to get rid of them.

SlimMoeDee...It seems for me those few days I don't eat on plan or eat too much are what undoes all my 'good' days. I hope this is not the same for you. You're close and you'll get there! So will I. I don't need a lot to maintain so I can't expect to lose quickly. Lately I'm eating maybe 100 cals under maintenence...not enough. I have to get down to 1,200 a day consistantly. I do well and then get 'hungry' in the evening. Grrr to me.
I'll never give up though 'cause that just ensures gain. |

![]() Great job!I've decided to try the Eat Fat Get Thin approach. Upping the fats a bit, lowering the protein. I tell ya .. I feel like on the Low Carb Merryground trying to find which approach might work for me. ![]() Haven't weighed yet. I think I'll do that in the morning and see how far from Onderland I am. |

Are you kidding?? A loss is a loss is a loss!!
You're a couple lbs. closer than I am.I weighed yesterday and was actually pleased since I did indulge in a few carbs over the weekend. Yesterday, I ended up with almost 2000 calories , a little high on the protein, but kept the fat up, carbs down and lost a little over a pound.I'm back to weighing daily to see how this is going to work .. so I'm on your tail! |

Had another high calorie/low carb/low protein/high fat day yesterday and stayed the same, which is cool.
You ladies have a great weekend! |

I'll say! I semi-did the plan over the weekend (trying to stretch out the fasting time) and this morning was down 2 lbs.! I finally got .4 lb. lower than my siggy
. I'd been up a couple pounds and did NOT want to change it until I broke through it. Getting so close to Onderland I can taste it (no pun intended!). |

Hi.
Do you think 24lbs is to much to lose to make it to onderland by the end of the year? If not, count me in. That would be 2lbs a week, starting today (I'm re-inducting). Getting my butt back in gear because I am a mess. |

AS for me, I am going to start working on my Christmas goal ... Unfortunately, I didn't make my mini goal for September and still haven't reached it even though we are at the half-way point for October. Probably going to have to adjust those some...

Thanks for the welcome, ladies! Lora, it's great to see you here! Did you get your L-Glutamine yet? I tell you, it's like a miracle to get you past the craving stage.
My strategy is to do meat and eggs Monday through Friday, and basically Atkins '72 induction on weekends. Doing Atkins all the time wasn't controlling my cravings, but meat and eggs does. I think my body is very resistant to get into ketosis. It takes a lot to get me there. I joined the Biggest Loser contest at my gym and I am not in it to win it, I'm in it to motivate myself to stay the heck on plan. I have been goofing around way too much this year. I could have been a lot closer to goal if I had stuck with it. ![]() Anyway, at the gym, I'm competing with women much younger than I am (I'll be 57 in a couple of weeks), so I don't really think that I can win. But I'll lose weight every week and I'll not cheat.

Lora...Welcome here! If you're a good loser you can make it by the new year. We all lose at different rates but it seems to me 2 pounds a week is doable.
lawmom...That would be so great if you could make that Christmas goal! Boy would I love to be there, too. Magicsmom...Sounds like a plan. Meat and egg rocks the pounds off! As for me I'm taking it one day at a time and doing the best I can each day. I'm still hovering around my siggy weight. So what else is new! lol |

Magicsmom, you are too funny! I have a job that affords me lots of freedom to do different things, so Tuesday I spent the day organizing my iTunes folder here at work to match mine at home. I also have a graphics website, so yesterday I spent most of it designing a new webset. Never made it here.
I went up a lb. on Tuesday but I REFUSE to change my siggy as I expect a loss soon (how's that for optimistic?!). Despite that, my clothes feel better and although the tape measure only shows a teeny tiny change, I see major changes in the mirror. So far, doing the Fast 5 with the low carb is going good. lawsmom - I hope once I break the big barrier, the weight will come off. I've been inputing my weight everyday into Weight Commander to see exactly this ol' body loses. If I can get a handle on it and see the way I lose, maybe I won't get so disheartened at my "stalls".
