Hello Ladies, I'd like to join this challenge. I'm usually a challenge failure ie: I never make it to the end. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to embrace this way of life for health reasons. My attenpts previously, try everyday since oh about 2000, were pure vanity. In the last 30 days I have been diagnosed with HBP and have had my meds changed three times is in that period. My body is not tolerating the meds well. After running a battery of tests my Physician concluded my pressure is high for no medical reason he could. His conclusion, my excessively high sodium diet, obesity, stress, and being sedintary lifestyle is killing me. Basically my lifestyle sucks! I have been low-carbing "in my head" on and off for the last 10 yrs. More off then on judging from my 205 lbs weigh-in this morning. So there's my story that's why I'm here, well I'm here for moral support (to give it and get it) and to finally get the weight off and stop taking these dam- meds. The sad part is as I type this I'm not convienced my new dx is going to be enough to keep me on the straight and narrow. Its not like I haven't had a foreshadowing of this to come watching the women in my family go through the similar Health issues at my age. I'll take things meal by meal and come here often.
My birthday is November 5th so it would be good to give myself the gift of better health and shed 20 lbs by October 31st-thats my goal. That should be obtainable as I usually shed 8 lbs of water during one clean week of eating. |

blew it
Totally blew my diet. Since friday night. Entirely disgusted with myself. You know, I am a stress eater for sure. Friday my manager got the boot, totally unexpected. I showed up for work,..kinda felt something was off,..but everyone was acting like things were just peachy. I sort of poked my head in and out to see if my feelin was unfounded,..and it sure seemed like I was just being paranoid, about two hours later my manager started carrying out his belongings. I figured I was just dealing with it, I was even asked if I wanted to throw my name into the mix for replacement. I got home from work and the kids do homemade pizza on fridays, I ate some,..Saturday I worked all day, forgot to eat breakfast, by the time I got home....chinese food,...then big breakfast sunday morning,...just a whole slew of bad. I realize I am trying to eat away my dislike for unexpected changes, excuses excuses,..Well tommorow is a new day. I will weigh in and get back on the horse. I hope I haven't caused too much damage.

Wannabastar- I sure think you can do it. Seems we have to hit rock bottom sometimes before we finally give in and change. Stay with us. I was in a challenge once before too and let life get to me. It happens, its just time to finally do this thing and move on. I hope getting the weight off will get you off those pills once and for all.
Lisa- It's not the end of the world. You are here and that's what matters. Sometimes just logging on and reading is enough to get rid of the cheat mindset. It's when we disappear that all the damage gets done. For the weekend I didn't do the fat fast but i've been doing induction. My weight is the same as it was Friday but i'm ready to get back on FF to shed hopefully 3 this week like last week. Seems the only way I can get it to budge is to keep going back to FF for weight loss induction for maintenance. Sometimes I can get away with a few more carbs but not many for sure! Ok gang weekend Holiday is ovah time to crack down.

Hi Kim and Wannabe!! Welcome.
So the 160 are apparently an exclusive club that i was kicked out of. After thinking i was solid with 2 days there, thelast 3 have been 170.5. I had a major sweet tooth yesterday that i had a hard time satiating. 2 carb smart ice cream bars, spoonful pb, lc yogurt, and some LC trail mix later i tied my hands behin my back and went to bed. can't be surprised about no loss there, but i want to make sure i have one to post for this week's weigh in. it'll be easier now that i have a routine again.... and i won't be tempted to make carbquik pancakes with pb and sf syrup. had those 2x this wkd. small portions tho. back to the grind ladies... have a good one!

Dragging my carb laden butt back in here! Man did I crash over the weekend! I will TOTALLY have to start over! It was the parades... the festivals... and ME! I feel like crap and I'm very disappointed in my Coke guzzling escapades! (at least they were caffeine free... does that count?)... I can't explain what happened to me. But, I am back and kicking in gear for Friday's WI... Just praying there isn't too much of a gain and moving on from here!
Great to see all of the new losers joining us!~ I will try to catch up on all of the posts later this evening!

What are menus like this week? i'm guilty of not planning which makes things a little harder sometimes. went to eat with bf this weekend and walking in i said OOooh i really want a milkshake, his typical response: then get one. Mental smackdown: But I really want a to be size 9. Bf: Then don't get one. It isn't always that easy, but i've actually managed not to cheat so far just some overeating from time to frequent time... |

todays menu so far
b- string cheese l- yogurt and strong cheese... tryin to plan dinner. maybe cooked cabbage and or green beans and whatever meat i can cook from frozen.... JTM burgers maybe... anywho since this is a halloween thread n all i wanted to share the costume idea i just had for my dog (still no progress on my own). my dog is an english bulldog who is technically named izzy but goes by a vast array of nicknames, one of which is Stinkerbelle. I'm getting her a skunk costume on ebay and one of those stretchy tutu/fairy skirts to put around her waist. I'm going to write with a fabric marker on the skunk costume *StinkerBelle*. obviously, i have no chidlren and am tickled pink at this idea lol. I will have to search one of those costme stores for my own inspiration, but i like more original outfits typically. Don't get me wrong, i would love to fit into one of those cheaply made cheeks out outfits... but it's not particularly my style. i hate that the only costumes that aren't so scandalous are like a pirate, a gypsy, or a giant gorilla costume. ![]() Anywho, thought i'd share. I'm excited about all the people here for the challenge. It makes it fun to get different ideas, menus, etc. |

Wow, it's quiet in here!! I have to get back to posting my menu's! Not yesterdays that was a mess of legal crap and way to much of it!! PMS munchies have gotten ahold of me plus I've been eating the Atkins bars and I think they have been causing cravings for sweet stuff!

Christi- I love the doggie costume idea. Now you have to post pics though.
Lots of restarts lol Friday should be interesting. I'm still 203 blah. I think i'm overdoing the cream but it was that or a total disaster sooooo cream won. My calories were probably through the roof today though. Friday is coming up....i gotta show a loss of some sort or i'll feel like i wasted an entire week. |

I'm definitely having a hard time getting re-started... think it has alot to do with getting ready for TOM! CRAVINGS are driving me crazy! What happened to my motivation?!? Poured it down the drain when I had that first Coke! I KNOW BETTER! Guess Friday will be a new start for me!

will definitely post izzy's costume once i get it. i haven't had pop for 1.5 days... just water and crystal light. woohoo go me. That's not entirely me tho. I'm trying out a diet supplement that has had crazy good consumer reviews and is popular among body builders when "cutting". Don't get me wrong, i don't believe in a magic pill. It is a slight thermogenic but also provides energy and appetitie suppression (and insomnia if not taken early enough). The pill itself has 100 mg of natural caffeine, so i didn't cold turkey it. (mmm... turkey) anyways, it's giving me dry mouth from hades so i'm chumming up with my water bottle again. I don't feel jittery and it seems to give me some more energy. i don't even remember the last time i wasn't at least a little bit tired. i have felt like i've been dragging lately and when i get off work i just wanna sleep. i was hoping (placebo effect or not) it would give me the energy and motivation to work out. Maybe tonight... maybe. iz had class last night so i was busy all night. well i finally found the 160s again... 168.5 to be exact! no miraculous pill to thank for going from 171 yesterday morning to 168.5 this morning, but it did seem to (ahem... TMI) regulate me quite a bit so i think therein lies my loss. i was going to post my menu until i realized all i've had is a piece of pumpkin bake (1/16th of recipe) this morning. i am not the kind of person who forgets to eat. hmm... maybe the appetite supression is working or maybe there's a binge coming on... anywho that's all for now. i think i'm gonna go make a 2 wheeled purchase mistake now. geesh that's scarier in writing. i'm about to give a whole new truth to the have to fall on ur face to learn a lesson motto. later girlies |

Losing it- Have you tried coke zero with some cherry davinci? it's sooo good. Kills coke cravings for me....
I let myself be a little hungry today. All i've had is half an avocado, one slice of provolone, jello with cream, and coffee. I wasn't starving or anything but a little hunger every now and then won't kill me. lol Hoping for a loss tomorrow.... No more 203 dangit! |

congrats on those losses. 40 pounds is amazing! i lost again this morning, but i think these pills are having a diuretic effect (been 4 times this morning). Drinking plenty of water tho. guess i shouldn't complain tho, if i actually took my morning weight (butt nakee after peeing) i would be 167. that would be 25 lbs since end of may! but there i go counting chickens... I think we go through phases....I sat at 239 for a long time. Then I bounced between 239 and 237 for a long time. I didnt think I would ever get past it.
I think we each have small plateaus that we hit. Perhaps it is a weight that our body remembers from a time past that we were at for a long time. Im not sure. But it will move. Just stay on plan, get the exercise in and it will have to move. Perhaps after TOM you will have a nice woosh. And on the plus side, at least you arent gaining! Maintaining is far better than having it creep up again! |

i agree with the unfortunate phases. It took me 10 weeks to get thru the 170's and after i eat dinner i'll prolly be back there tonight lol. I didn't cheat during that time either. My strictness may have fluctuated and exercise wasn't a factor so... i figure i can't get to frustrated when i'm stuck for a little while because i'm not really going out of my way, staying hungry, or eating things i don't like. Knowing that the stall will eventually be broken if i just keep doing what i'm doing, or manage to kick it up a notch, keeps me from reverting during those frustrating times. I've said before though, i think i have an unhealthy fascination with weighing myself too much. I wish i could just do what i'm doing, not worry about weight, and wait for clothes to get bigger. I can't tho, just not me. Speaking of which, still wearing the same size pants as 25 pounds ago. I must have been airbrushing them on. They're comfortable and not too baggy now. my belt notches have changed, i was just really looking forward to buyign a smaller size especially since i'm more than half way to goal. Perhaps goal needs to change. I thought i remembered liking the way i looked at 150... oh who knows, distant memory!
