Good news for me at least! I'm down another 2 lbs for an even 20! I'm so happy!!!!! Bad new is...Pete needs the surgery on his knee. He has a piece of torn cartilage that they will remove Laproscopically. He should be back on his feet in a couple of days and able to work in a couple of weeks, Hopefully he will be motivated to find a new job. There hasn't been much out there tho I'll tell ya! He's also lost about 30 lbs himself or more. He has to get below 330 for it to register on our scale

Nat - Yeah I get that "I'm taller than you" from my girls all the time! My eldest DD is about 4 inches taller me - but the little ones aren't - they just like to dream! And thanks for the compliment!

Yep my first born will 22 in October - hard for me to believe!

Brazilian was a huge hit if anyone wants to super chicken recipe!!!!!! Going to in-laws tonight so I'm not cooking!

hi all..... mitz wowza on the 20~~ good girl. hope all goes well for pete. i had the same surgery 20 yrs ago. got just 2 little scars on either side of the knee... dont remember though how long i was out. then again, i was a 20 yr old hormone raging kid....so i wanted to walk and go out!!

pat...you too losing like a madwoman!

blondie...enjoy the InLaws dinner!

i am hoping for a noing weekend here. going to stock up though on sat at the mega liquor depot...having a party on the 5th....long weekend and it looks like so far we are at about 38 peeps!!

lets hope its nice outside!

Iftar at the In-laws was great. Nice to see everyone. Loads of kids running everywhere! And food was wonderful! The enchiladas were a huge hit! Tonight is Colorado Night - and the dd's are doing the cooking! Rocky Mountain Stew, Green Salad, Tortilla Chips and Cold Melon Salsa!

This is a Sad Day.

My nephew Jason's baby died last night. I just found out this morning. He was 2.5mo/old.
It's all speculation on the Why rt. now. It could have been by natural causes or not. Perhaps neglect...

Apparently, 911 wasn't called rt. away. And...EMT's/Coroner are saying it looks like the baby passed 3 or 4 hrs before the call.

no words! just wish them peace and that everything gets sorted out. losing a baby is sad no matter the circumstances! maybe they were just inexperienced?

Eyes are really puffy from crying last night. I used some hot packs that I use for dry eye syndrome and they seemed to help w/the redness/swelling.
It's sounding like it may have been SIDS. They aren't sure yet.

Pat is Safe.

Nah...fires aren't near us. But, we did get lots of smoke for a few days when the wind direction changed on us from other fires west of us.
Today, is very windy w/blue sky. Winds aren't helping the fires in Los Angeles areas.

aw man! i think pat needs hugs all around!!! how are the parents? how are the grandparents? i guess your sis or bro or DH's sis or bro?... my cousin's daughter lost her baby last year...she was due any day and 3 days before her due date, she went for a stress test and nada! nothing! she felt the baby move that morning...looks like he died a couple of hours before she arrived for her test! i had seen her a month before and rubbed that belly like crazy. its a sad thing when a baby/child dies! keep those puffy eyes at bay...i will say a prayer for your family tonite.

and yeah! those darn fires scare the crap out of me!!!and i am far far away!

Yeah...losing a baby/child has to be the most sad and painful thing to go through.

My nephew is my Houston-Sis' son.
Sounds like coroner is calling the death a SIDS event.
They finally released the baby to the funeral home. Viewing is today and funeral is tomorrow.

My yoga instructor and classmates including myself gave them a spiritual-meditative session on Tues. And...we are packing up a box of 'natural 'tokens from Tahoe and notes of support to them today. It was my instructor's idea.
I put some adler pines cones in a bottle w/some lavender oil. And...I made a pair of garnet earrings for nephew's dw.

not going to be warm enough for a pool party though, but lets hope its warm enough to eat outside! got the firpit all set up to sit by the fire at night! here is to a nice looooooooooong weekend!!! if i dont make it back, have a good one!!!

For all you NOT on Facebook, jere's a quick update - the A/C in our building quit completely - Last Thursday! Yep that's right - no a/c at all. It's as hot and humid inside as it outside, making anything beyond getting up off the bed almost unthinkable! DH went and got fans for all the room just so we can live there. But yesterday we noticed - FUNGUS groing on the furniture and throw pillows!!!!!!

Now I'm going to have to have the furniture re-covered and probably just throw out the throw pillows. Like I can afford that - but we can't even do do that until the A/C works again. A couple of my kids are coughing horribly and sound awful and I suspect it is related to the fungus.

Oh yeah - trying to cook for Iftar is REALLY fun!!!!!! Never the less, tonight is Peru Night. Chicken Peruano, Red Salad, Aji Sauce and Fruit Espuma

I think you're right Nat! Pretty much all of us, except DD who has been staying with SIL and DH who is in Saudi are sick now! Even our housemaid seems out of sorts, poor thing. And still no A/C
