lil miss, good point about the fat in the BK meal.
Adi, haha, you could start a new plan. Adi's BurgerKing "chicken" diet. I can't help but wonder what's in those formed chicken things, heehee. And don't forget that Elly May was super strong and could womp Jethro! I love Granny. Makes me wish I had appreciated my grandmother when she was here. I wish I had her around me after I'd reached adulthood. Dak, groundhogs look like they get to about 20 pounds. They burrow and create tunnels so I think farmers and golf courses aren't fond of them. But they love weeds and he's clearing my yard of dandelion greens, so I don't mind him. The funny thing is my husband asks about him and likes watching him. This is the man who never thought twice about animals until he met me. I think I read once that one of the first ice cream flavors was tomato. I guess it wasn't served as a dessert. Probably just a way of serving something cold in the heat of the summer, way back when. I went for a 3 mile walk tonight on the new trail. It was great. I bought salad greens and am going to try to have salads this week, starting with dinner tonght. Oh, I forgot to tell you about my Dad's gun. He was a cop and still had his gun. Well, we weren't sure what he did with it. We didn't know where he hid it in his little apartment. Well when the guys were demolishing the apartment on Monday, they found the gun in the drop ceiling and the d@mn thing was loaded! I'm so relieved that it was found because I dreaded selling the house and having the new owner or one of their kids find it. DH turned it in to the police station. OMG was my father a trial! |

Morning!
Nice walk, Kritter! I know shopping always feels like it's a workout, it will be interesting to see how many steps it really it. I don't want to go anywhere today. This was my busy week, coming right from my long drive back from LA. Told DH he should go to farmers market, LOL. Don't laugh. I'm trying a new diet, it's called the Belly Fat Cure. It's similar to Atkins, but allows you more carbs. The evil thing to avoid is sugar. No more than 15 g of sugar a day. An apple has 14. Any carb below 5 is free, otherwise 2 carbs per meal, each carb between 5 and 20. Shoot for high fiber. Supposedly it will help you target belly fat. My nemosis. What I don't like about it is that most people use it for processed foods, California Pizza kitchen stuff. I'm trying to do it with whole foods. I'll keep you posted. Here's the ebook if anyone wants to look at it. jorgecruise.com/report_download.php |

Dak, I'm very interested in that plan because that is my problem area too. I didn't feel like doing anything yesterday either. Did you have a nice relaxing day? I'm being a slug today.
We're expecting some very stormy weather today so if I do manage a walk, I'm going to stick close to the home or car. Off to read about the Belly Fat Cure! |

I did have a good day yesterday. I worked on my garden yesterday, being gone last weekend, the tomatoes seriously needed restaking. Planning on more work out there today.
I saw a promo for the movie "Moon," it looked really interesting, I love scifi, but in actuality it was pretty predictable and depressing. DH & I met up with DS afterwards at Evo's (do you guys have Evo's on the east coast? They have great salads) then DH & I went to bed early. Down 2 pounds so far! So far I'm liking the plan, 120 carb limit per day, much more generous than induction. Seems like I remember diets my mom did that restricted sugars, so kinda old school. Fitday doesn't track sugars, I found an online diet diary called myfitnesspal.com that does. It also seems to have a much more broader food database. Rain? Wow, can't hardly imagine it, we sure could use some here. Hope you don't get caught in a downpour. |

Hi all!
DH and I are back from our weekend get away. It was beyond wonderful! On Friday I had lunch on the terrace and read my book while DH golfed with friends. Friday night we had nice dinner then met friends for drinks. Oh, I also went to the spa and got a massage! Sat we slept in [!] and went to Biltmore and had lunch at the winery. We spoke to them about some bad bottles of wine we bought there last time and they were very apologetic and replaced them! Then we read, attended a wine tasting with friends, had dinner on terrace and drinks on another balcony and watched the most beautiful fireworks display! I hated to come home! Friday night I ate way off plan, but ate LC yesterday with the exception [or addition] of chocolate plus I had a LOT of wine. Back on track 100% today. Exhausted. Dak-that diet sounds GREAT! I need the belly fat gone too, it is by far my most troubled area. Hope you had a relaxing weekend and DH got to the farmers market for you ![]() Adi-You been selling this weekend? How are your beautiful cows? heh heh Still enjoying time with DS? Kritter-so how much walking did you do while shopping? Its so fun to count shopping as exercise! Did you enjoy your dinner out with your sibs? We leave on Friday for the beach!

D'oh! I forgot to wear my pedometer yesterday. I didn't feel well when we were at the mall. I was very tired, my throat was sore and my stomach was queasy. Dinner with the sibs was nice but I ate too much! I got fettucine alfredo. OMG was it good! I still have some leftovers in the fridge but I'm throwing them out. I need to get back to low carb!
lil miss, your weekend sounds wonderful! Lunch on the terrace and cocktails on the balcony. How great to have all of that "grown up" time without the kiddies. Dak, I never heard of Evo's? DH said he saw "Moon" and didn't like it either. Your Saturday sounded nice and relaxing. Hi Adi! I got up this morning at around 6, sis left at 7 and I went back to bed and slept until 10. Boy was I tired. I've been slug all day. I'm thinking of eating seafood again, especially clams because they're very high in iron and B12 and of course protein. I haven't gotten my B12 retested but I still feel so tired. And I'm gaining weight. And I don't think I'm getting enough good quality protein. |

Morning!
Your trip sounded just perfect, Lil Miss! And you got a massage! Who were you able to find to watch your children? Family? You seems to have such a great extended family. Kritter, I hope you're feeling better. Not a great way to walk around a mall! I should warn you about that ebook, there really isn't much in it, short of 15 max sugar & 2 carbs per meal. I guess I've been on enough plans that I just fill the rest in. Off to get the car tuned up. |

Dak, yeah, the plan seems very simple. And the thing is, I never looked much at sugar but man I was eating a lot with all of the onions and tomatoes I was eating. I need to be more aware of what I'm eating!
lil miss, I've been taking supplements but they're such a pain because you have to let them slowly disolve under your tongue, which takes about 1/2 hour! So I forget them a lot. I had a trailer hitch installed on my car tonight, now I just need to figure out how to install the bike rack. I know it'll be a battle so I'll wait until tomorrow to tackle that ![]() |

Hmm I am frustrated. I dont get "me"
Today: B egg, coffee L turkey pastrami, saurkraut, LC thousand island S sf jello D wings, then pizza top that ended up in me destroying the slice and basically eating the crust. WHY cant I do better? I DO want this. I do. I dont look good. I have so many reasons to do this, how I look but also the abuse my body will endure while running hundreds of miles in preparation for marathon.... So, WHY do I do well all day long until evening and then cave?Kids even have a friend over for a sleep over and I talked myself out of buying them ice cream as a treat bc I suspected I would take a taste.... I just dont get why I cant recommit like I did a few years ago when I even committed maybe too strongly, yanno? I was TOO anal about it. ![]() |

lilmiss - I find that I cave in the evening if I don't eat a big breakfast. You will commit when it is time. I can talk becasue I am not doing anything but eating whatever fruits and veggies I want. I love fresh stuff and I am going to eat it while it is available.

Morning!
Lil Miss, Is it because it the easiest thing to eat? Would it help if you prepared your dinners earlier in the day? Could the jello be triggering you to eat more? Real estate agents all doing a walk through this morning. Got to clean up more. |

lil miss, I agree maybe you need to eat more during the day and maybe include some high fat snacks.
Yesterday, I brought a salad for b and l and after breakfast I didn't feel so hot. The breakfast salad kind of went right through me. So for lunch I had a blob of tuna and a pickle and felt better. For some reason, sometimes I can't digest raw salad greens, but other times they don't bother me. Anyway, I ate kind of light and on the way home from getting the trailer hitch, I was so hungry. Wound up stopping at McDonald's for french fries. . I think if I'd eaten more during the day I wouldn't have craved the french fries.Doing good today so far. I had some roasted broccoli and green beans for breakfast, am munching on sunflower seeds and am planning on tuna for lunch, with lots of mayo. |

I DO think you guys are right - I think I do need to eat more during the day.... If I could just get a few good, high fat clean days under my belt I think I would be better able to resist any goodies.
ugh dak, I hated having to keep the house picked up for realtors.... krit-hope youre feeling better! McD's fries are too darn good... Hi adi! |

lil miss, I was having wicked M&M cravings last night and this morning. I'm hoping that eating high fat and staying full will help get rid of them too.

Dak, according to NutritionData dot com, popcorn has no sugar. Do you think that's accurate? I found some other sites that give it .1 g of sugar per cup. Not bad!

Hey.
So...Have to tell you guys, we have been buying these PURPLE sweet potatoes from Whole Foods that come from a local farmer and they are SO good. We had leftovers so we made some "chips" tonite...OMG. SO good. We had LindaSue's tuna melts and sweet potato chips. Carbs are coming out to about 45 for the day due to that. I will take that I dont care, the sweet potatoes are so worth it! |

Oh man that meal sounds delish! Hey, 45 carbs of sweet potatoes is way better than 45 carbs of M&Ms
Think of all of that fiber! Whenever I eat sweet potatoes I gain and when I eat them, I feel so full. They seem to sit in my belly like lead.I got in a 2 mile walk tonight. It felt great to walk and I had good energy, considering it was bloody awful humid. |

Hey Guys,
Kritter, myfitnesspal gives it a zero sugar too, I had popcorn at the movies on Sunday, still lost on Monday, maybe because I'm in that magic first week of weight loss. I love sweet potatoes! Wow, 17 mgs of sugar, I can believe it. Anyway, too hot around here to want to cook them right now. Maybe in the fall. Way to go, Lil Miss! One day under your belt and you will feel like you have momentum behind you. |

I'm so mad I didn't get weighed on Monday because my stomach feels/looks like it's way down. Nutritiondata dot com says clams are anti-inflammatory. Wonder if that's why I felt so good yesterday. I think I could have walked the whole trail, which would have totaled 5 miles, but it was getting late and dark and a little spooky so stopped after 2 miles.
menu today will be tuna salad, Claussen pickles, roasted veggies(broc., caul. and green beans), sunflower seeds and maybe some popcorn. |

You're doing great, Lil Miss! No sugar does work.
Kritter, are you trying to avoid sugar too? I've actually lost 4 inches already from my stomach, it's like my waistline has lowered, (measuring at my navel, when I started, the narrowest part of my waist was above my navel). It's definitely motivation! Though yesterday I went over, I had three pieces of dark chocolate after dinner & lentil soup for lunch, went over by 17 g. No loss this morning, but down 4 pounds since Saturday. I also didn't drink all my water yesterday. Were you walking with your dog last night? When I was down in LA, I would walk my sisters dog right before bed, around 10pm & felt OK, that dog would wake up the neighborhood if anyone bothered us. Though I guess if you weren't in a neighborhood..... |

Dak,no it's too hot for Meg to walk too long. So I do my long walks alone when it's hot and then take her for a shorty. Oh and she never barks. It's kind of bizarre. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather so I can take her for long walks.
Yep, I'm trying to avoid sugar too. Doing really well so far. lil miss, exactly! Celebrate how good you're doing because you are. Hi adi! No walking tonight. We're getting lots of rain. It's so hot here and our air conditioner seems to be broken. I'm guessing something got disconnected when the waterproofers were here today. Can't anyone do a good job and not screw up something. Ugh. |
