Good morning again,

Here we go with a new thread but the same darn old crappy weather. When will it end? Enough is enough!!!!
The thunder was booming over head this morning and lightening was striking at the same time.
It is still pouring right now. The only good thing is that our gutters are fixed and the rain isn't dripping down the house anymore.

Becky, I hope the doctor prescribes an antibiotic so you can get rid of your cough. Feel better soon!

Evon, I just sent you a regular email with what I think is the pizza you are looking for. It sounded familiar to me. You could try it and see if you like it.
The sound of the rain on my AC is so cool. See that, I found something positive about this crappy weather. I love the sound of it hitting tin or aluminum. It could put me to sleep.
My yard is flooded and my pool is overflowing and it's raining too hard to get out there and empty some of the water.
Have a great time at Bert's this weekend. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you no matter what time you arrive.

It is the July and it came in liike fireworks. Kaboom... Did it ever thunder.. I was afraid to get into the shower alone. I waited for Emile to get back from Cumberland... The rest of the day was a normal RAINY day.. I made a sheperd pie for Mandy for dinner with us.. I don't think we will be seeing her the rest of the week.. Her Dad is on vacation.. I am not working this week. So I guess it will be my vacation time.. I bet Lynn will be rather busy from now un til Sunday.. Hope the sun is out on Sunday.. All good things for Lynn and Bruce..

Good morning everyone,

It is nice out right n ow. Very humid and I think it will get hot enough to dry everything out today. My garden will love the relief from all this rain. Give them a chance to dry out their toes.

Claire, I hope you and Emile have plans to enjoy this day without rain. We are supposed to have more thunder and lightening but only later in the day and possibly only tonight. We are going to work our butts off trying to clean the yard, patio furniture and pool with our power washer.
We are going to have the grass cut today.
So we will be busy. I think we are going to wait till Sunday for our party now.
I will be thinking of Lynn and Bruce saying their "I Do's" and being so happy for them. I hope they have a wonderful wedding.

It's going to be quiet around here this weekend so I will wish everyone a Happy 4th of July now. I hope you all enjoy the holiday and think of and thank the thousands of men and women who died so we can celebrate this day.

Hi girls... I am feeling better. Felt so vad yesterday I didn't check any of my low carb threads. He gave me an antibiotic, a steroid, a cough med with codine and a shot (he calls them drpo shots and I said that once and a girl questioned me and said she that there's a birth control shot. I just know he always writes depo shot on the receipt. I'm feeling a little better but sure can't say I feel good yet, but I do feel better.

Hello my friends

What a busy day-began cleaning and cooking for the party after the wedding, than we had to meet one of Dee's friends from elementary school for lunch, finally off to Lone Tree to relax by the beach for a while and than home to baby sit for Amber while her parents went out on a date night. Tomorrow we have two family reunions, mine and Bruce's and than on to Sunday. I am sure this will be my last opportunity to check in with you all until at least Sunday night and probably Monday. I so appreciate all the well wishes and want you to know how fortunate I feel that I am to have you girls in my life-love you like sisters-many hugs my friends. I promise there will be pictures posted. Hope you all have a WONDERFUL Fourth and terrific weekend

Hi Girls, just too tired to talk tonight. We've been working on the pool and the yard for two days. We usually do this gradually but with the bad weather we've had for the past month we didn't do any of it.
Tomorrow the kids are coming so we wanted everything ship-shape.
I still have to make a large potato salad and a cake for my little Brendan. He just loves cake so much and he can't eat a lot of things because of his allergies so he is going to have cake and vanilla ice cream tomorrow for dessert.
It's hard when you have a child with so many allergies. I was sure to check the labels for anything he can't have.

Claire, Glad you enjoyed the beautiful weather today. Have a nice day tomorrow. I was too tired to cook tonight so we ordered one of the pasta meals with bread-sticks from Pizza Hut and it was so delicious. I was surprised at how good it was.

Becky glad you are feeling better. It sucks when you are feeling as lousy as you were a couple of days ago.

I hope you sweet babies are feeling okay and don't catch your virus or cold.

Lynn, Well this is it.............your last day to be Lynn Padula. This is awful but I can't remember Bruce's last name. So what will your new name be tomorrow?

thanks so much for the well wishes-it could not have been a more perfect day-all was wonderful the weather, the food, and the company. We had pictures taken and will be given the CD in a week and I will post pictures at that point so you all can see them. The baby was adorable and very good and it truelly was a wonderful day!!!! I am blessed to call you friends and so greatful for your affection throughout the year and your support in this decision!! My new last name is Pease but I do think I will hyphenate it quite the new last name Padula-Pease-guess it could be worse

Becky-congrats on your dear little Gracie christening and your new role as Godmother that is such an honor!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Lynn Padula-Pease and to Bruce as well! I'm so happoy that your day was beautiful!

John got his passport request sent off FINALLY for his trip to Canada. He was sippose to take the day off cuz he worked the whole weekend except for about 3 hrs that he took off to go to hos step-dads for the 4th and Gravelynns baptism and party, but he left the party early to go back to work. I talked to him when I was leaving work @ 1215 and he was on his way back. Tomorrow is his 51st birthday and I wish he would take off but I doubt that he will. if he was home he would just sot and fret so it never does him any good to take off work.

Hello everyone,

Shan and I are watching the Bachelorette. It is so good. I love all of these guys except for Wess. I think he is a liar. I hope she doesn't choose him.
Our day with the kids was great yesterday. Brendan is the shy one in the family. He is very shy compared to the 3 girls. If only he knew how much we adore him being our only little boy. I made cake just for him and he loved it. He had two pieces and ice cream. He is just the cutest little kid.
Jillian went in that cold water and loved it. She was just the life of the party. She is definitely the clown in the family.
The girls were like little water bugs. Gracie's lips were purple from the cold and she didn't want to come out. Hope swims really well this year and was demonstrating her back stroke for us.
All in all we all had a great time. The weather was perfect even if the water was a little cold. I have lots of pictures that I will have to post when I get a minute.

Lynn, I'm so happy your day was perfect. Your last name is very nice.
I'm sure Amber was a little doll and a very good little girl. You had a beautiful day for your wedding. I can't wait to see the pictures.

Becky, time for John's trip to Canada already? It seems like he just came home. I hope he doesn't get a speeding ticket this time. You'll have to make sure he wears his light weight shoes.

Well my wonderful visit with the kids and the baby is pretty much over with-they returne to TExas aat 6_00am tomorrow. I will definately miss them but am so thrilled that I got to spend such a long time with them and really enjoyed this visit with Amber. She is such a little character and definately makes "Ma" smile-that is what she began calling me while she was here and it touched my heart-especially since it is what I called my grandmother!!!

Congratulation Ms Pease. Atleast you wont have to get new initialed stuff. That is neat. Glad the day came off without a hitch, except for the one that was supposed to happen. Dont be sad because the baby is going home. Time to get used to picking up Bruces socks. Are you staying at your house, or moving to his, or getting a completely new house. Yours is so nice. But a new marriage might be even more special in a new place, without memories of your old lives.

Becky, congratulations on the baptism of the baby. Is she growing quickly? Hope you get some rain soon. We had some last night, but atleast it did not rain on us over the weekend. It did rain overnight, but not while we were out.

Claire, guess we know who your best friend is. I had a spat with mine this week. I might get into that later. Or maybe not.

Jan, glad your delayed Fathers day went well. I dont watch the bachelor or any of those stories like that. I dont watch much tv anymore, anyhow. I tried to call Frances today and both her numbers were out of order. Then Bev was called to the office. When she came back, she got her purse and left. stopped on the way by my desk and asked me to get her stuff and take it to my house. I started taking stuff off the wall. Then when I came back from lunch, bea told me she called, and she would be back on Thursday. Guess they just gave her time off. Evidently it was because they felt she did not give them the respect they deserve. I dont think they deserve much. You have to give respect to get it.

About my trip. Where do I start? Maybe at the end? I came home yesterday, and got here a little after 6. I was so tired. I was tempted to go straight to bed, but had a few things to do. So I went to bed around 10 and got up at 10:15 this morning. I dont know when I have slept 12 hours. I did change locations sometime. Woke up cold so went in the living room. We left about 3:00 Friday afternoon, after having a blowout at work. We all brought food, and eat and eat and eat. Had green bean, corn on the cob, baked in the oven, potatoe salad, squash, chicken wings, hot tiny weiners, and a bunch of other foods. Bev had switched shifts with me so I could leave at 5. Then things were so slow, Pam got off at 3. Told me to ask Marie if I could leave at 3 with her. She said she would have to see. So she let the temps go, and then at 2:57 I had to go potty and she was coming in as I was coming out and told me I could leave. So went to atm to get some money and then went to pams. She was driving. On the way to her house, I called and left bert a message that we were coming early. Then when we got to Durham, we stopped so Pam could change her shorts cause the ones she had changed to were too tight. She got up a tea. Then she figured out that she had left her atm card somewhere. So that is all I heard for a little while. Finally, she hushed about it. She wanted to stop and eat at the k& w and it seemed to take forever. But we finally found it, and it was good. There was a walmart right behind it, and we went to get a fan for her, since Bert does not have ac. Why, when it is in the 50's for a low, you dont really need one. I lost Pam somewhere, and walked all over that block for a long time. Finally she called me. but my phone did not have any signal. I tried to call her back, but she could not hear me. I figured she might be ready to go so went to the car, but she not there. So went back in. Finally we hooked up. And were soon back on the road. And it got darker and darker. So we decided we might not better try to go thru the mountains in the dark. So I tried to call Bert, and he could not hear me. I used Pams phone to call and I could not hear him on it. But he heard me and knew we were not coming. When we got there, he said he had cooked breakfast for us. It was dinner by that time. And Pam was ready to go. So he took us to Tennessee. We ate at the cracker barrell. Then went shopping most of the afternooon. When we got home, we wanted to go to the fire works. Dewayne came over and they were going to the fireworks at Hot springs so we decided to follow them. But they left us in the dust. Those roads were like a snake most of the way. But we made it and found them. Pam wanted a tee shirt with Hot spring on it, but did not buy it when we found it, so when we went back, they were closed. Not to fret, she did get 3 on the way home. They open on Sunday so they can take people white water rafting. Hot spring is a pretty little mountain town. They have therapeudic hot springs that attract a lot of people, There were around 1,000 at the fireworks and only 457 live there. We had a good time. We did find Dewayne and his group and we all sat together. When they were winding down, we decided to go find the car and maybe leave a little ahead of everybody. Not. about the time we got less than halfway, they started the finale and it was so mermerizing. And they were going off right over our heads. We were just fascinated. Never been that close to them before. By the time we got to the car, the road was already full, and we sat there 40 minutes trying to get out. When we finally made it out of the parking lot, everybody was going the other way, so we were on the way back by ourselves. But soon this truck got behind us. we had the windows down cause it was too cool to turn on the ac. And the truck got tired of following us because we were so slow. But her lights were not the best in the world. They finally went around us, and when they did, they threw something, and it hit pam in the face, and got on the car. The next time somebody got behind us, we pulled off and let them pass, but could not keep up with them. And we were soon alone again. I am so proud of us for even trying to go thru those curvy mountains in the middle of the night like that. We finally got home and Bert had gone to sleep in the chair, and locked the doors so we had to wake him up to get in. He said he did not like fire crackers, but we knew he did not want to leave rufus home alone. Went to bed around 11:30 and slept til 7:00 am. I woke up cold so finally could not get warm, so got up. It was raining when I got up. Pam was still asleep so spent some alone time with Bert listening to old country music and talking. Then he got up to fix breakfast and I got Pam up to eat. Then we packed, and got ready and left. It was around 10 am and we got home at 6. We stopped 7 times in that 8 hours. But we had a very good time. Pam asked Bert if he would be there for labor day so we could come back. Who knows, maybe we will. He said he would come back. We brought home some oranges, but I left them at her house.

I am a shmuck.....I went out this weekend a took pictures of my yard all in its splendor. ...and a lot of weeds.. I came in to put them on my PC.. My kodak printer had to go through loads of updates. When finshed..I put in my memory card.. It would not transfer to my PC.. My Pc does not detect my printer all of a sudden.. I can print from my PC on my Kodak esp5..but it will not transfer my pictures to Picasa. or even to my PC screen. That is the state of mind I have been in since Sunday.. Trying to get this straghtened out.. I didn't mean to shun any of my precious friends..
Jan, glad you enjoyed your kiddies....Evon, happy you had a safe and enjoyable trip to the mountains.. I love the mountains..So much closer to God.. Becky, you can renew your vows anytime.. I would like to renew mine.. But I am afraid Emile would not want to.. I don't think he is that sentimental.. after 50 years.. I am just a big mushy person and he is not.. I just don't wnat to ask and he say no.. I have been very touchy of late.. and I don't want to make waves.. stir the waters right now..

Well... Claire I asked John if we could renew our vows for iur 30th abbiversary and his answer to me was, "I took our vows seriously in front of God the day I married you, one vow for life". So... As much as I'm a romantic and want to renew them, I have to love his alnswer as much as I love him. And as much as I want to do that, he got MANY brownie points with that answer! Lol. I would love to plan a reception tho like what WE wanted and not what my mom and sister in law wanted. Our parish does a "marriage Mass" in May for milestone anniversaries. We had the 25th one (but we didn't go to the dinner) and the next one will be our 40th (9.5 years). Alyssa will be 12 so that will be nice for her, and Gracelynn will be 9. IF we don't do the dinner @ the church, we'll probably do something with kim's family. He did take me out to dinner the night of the Marriage Mass for our 25th, so its not that he's opposed to celebrations. He just knows what he feels in his heart. And I think I've mebtioned how very shy he is and doesn't like attention drawn to himself, I'm probably very lucky he agreed to a big wedding and not an elopement. Kik.

We got our car license for the 2 cars, John got his $208 passport (big dork. Lol. He took it down to the wire and had to expedite it) and now I have a whole $6 and he has $3 left til the 17th. We've been worse off than this before tho, so that's ok. Kim is making him a low sugar cake (pillsbury chocolate) with reduced Sugar frosting and red, white and blue sprinkles. He doesn't know about that tho.

Jan, when I got my BlackBerry, someone I had hit the button that sent everything of LCF to my junk mail, had to reset it. Maybe that's what happened, ????

I cracked the screen of my BlackBerry tonight. I was getting plates down for the cake that Kim made for John for his birthday and down came the salt shaker (glass) onto my phone. I hardly EVER have it out of the case but I had just talked to Mom (her fault. LOL) and didn't put it back in. THANK GOD I have insurance, but I have to wait til next Friday to get it. They took the order number and I have to call back with an echeck, we just dont have the $50 for the deposit (can't remember what it's actually called, dang, I hate it when I get brain farts!!!) and then when I call them back with the echeck, they'll Fed Ex it to me. I'll call next Friday morning and get it set up.

I'm tired, even though I took a nap between some of the coverage of the Michael Jackson funeral. Wasn't going to watch it but then I thought that I wasn't doing anything anyway, it was tastefully done but Al Sharpton had to make it a racial issue. Hope I didn't step on anyones toes with that comment. I felt so bad for MJ's daughter, she spoke at the end and just knowing what John has gone through the almost 32 years that I've known him and that "little inner boy" that has never healed from losing his only parent that truly cared about him (or that's how he and his siblings all feel, except for the youngest brother!) my heart just ached for her. I hope they find peace and that the media leaves them alone so they can heal. I'm a little tired of the hoopla though, time to let him rest in peace. I was never a big fan, but didn't dislike him either. I can't dislike someone that I don't personally know. It would be nice to know the truth behind the child molestation accusations though. We'll probably never know now, I guess. But I hope his family finds peace, even though he looked a little strange to me by my standards, he was still their loved one. I'm done now, off my soapbox.

Alyssa came in with a cake for Papa (she helped, she licked the beaters according to her. LOL) and a card from she and "Acewynn". LOL. We watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (that one and the Land Before Time is her new favorites at our house) and kim came into the bedroom where we were cuddled up and watching the show and she told Kim to "go back out with Daddy, we's ok". Kim laughed and said, " wow, maybe I want to spend the night with Mammaw and Papa if you have fun like this." She loves that song "You Two" that Dick Van **** sings with his two kids. We have to rewind it a few times when it gets to that part. She's really into acting things out now, it wouldn't surprise me if she wants to be part of a Drama Club when she gets into high school.

I too watched the memorial for MJ.. I was not an ardent fan of his but I did like some of his songs.. Like the one sang by Usher.. I thought it was a fitting memorial and all his friends were able to pay him homage..
I spent the day on the phone (all the way to India)with odak. Uninstalling and reinstalling this printer.. It still will not transfer my photos to my PC.. I guess I will have to try again today.. I went through the process 4 times.. At 8 lat night, I told the girl I was tired and would get back to them in the morning.. I am not staying on all day though..
Evon, I went to the CBS site and watched yesterdays Y&R show.. It was good.. Check it out.. We were preempted because of MJ.. I go to Sony soaps then at the bottom is a CBS spot to click.. them you can see the videos.. No commercials.. Thats good.. Big secret on yesterdays show.. Hope you get to see it.. I watched it at 3 in the nmorning..
Jan, another grey day.. Yesterday was something else.. But we did not get what the beaches got.. Lynn, did you have lots of wind and lightning? Last week I did not get email notices.. But I did get todays.. I go through my mail and look forward to the emails telling me I have posts waiting to be read..

Hello girls,

I had a busy day today. I had my mom's little deacon come over this afternoon. This morning I had a nurse come to take her vitals. She is doing well.
Then I had to go to BJ's for kitty litter and cat food. Picked up a lot of other stuff too. I spent over $100.00 today. It does add up quickly.

Claire, I had to call COX this morning. I had no Internet when we got up today. I had to unplug everything and plug it in again. I was crawling behind my armoire. Not an easy task. My back still hurts. I think I have a kidney stone coming down. I am in awful pain. Stabbing pain whenever I move suddenly or go over a bump in the road while in the car.
I hope you get your printer straightened out.
I finally posted a bunch of pictures on Facebook today. Cute pictures of my kids.

I have always been a big fan of Michael Jackson. I think his problem was trusting people too much. There are many people in this world that will do anything, even ruin a good person's reputation to make money. It's funny that none of the rich celebrity kids he hung around with ever accused him of anything. They didn't need his money so there were no lies.
He was a good person who genuinely loved people and wanted every child to have the childhood that he never had. He gave most of his fortune away to charities all over the world trying to help people.
The celebrities he befriended loved him like a member of the family.
I don't believe one word of the allegations made against him and I think it's tragic that they ruined the life of a person as good and as generous as he was.
I hope for his kids sake they stop all the bull***** about the dad they loved and they let him rest in peace.
That darn little Alyssa is a real trip. She is such a cute little kid. You guys must be cracking up all the time with her around.
I love little kids that say funny things like that. I love all kids!!!!

Bruce and I took the dogs out for a nice walk this morning-the poor things have been ignored since Dawn and the baby came in so they needed to get out and enjoy themselves. Than I hit Curves for a workout, came back and just relaxed-we are trying to think of something fun to do tomorrow but as of now stil have not come up with anything. Bruce has surgery on his foot Friday and I need to go into school to do some summer planning as summer school starts on Monday. He will be out of commission for the entire weekend with his foot in a boot for three weeks. My surgery for my deviated septum is at the end of August -and we are hoping that we both are in great shape for the cruise which is at the end of September!!

Evon-sounds like you folks had a really nice time-how nice that you could possibly plan to get away again for Labor Day-looking forward to seeing your blouse-it sounds very pretty. For now we are going to stay at my house and probably put up Bruce's place for sale-we may at a later date begin looking for something bigger for all the kids-but we shall see.


Becky-John's words are surely touching-you can not fight with that -it is evident he loves you adn is committed to your marriage and does not feel any need to prove that to anyone. I do understand your desire to renew your vows-woman are so different than men -we really are romantics and would love to be continually wisked off our feet-but you found yourself a wonderful man and it is great that you understand and accept him the way he is

Claire-sure do hope you get that printer issue solved-it is so frustrating to attempt to deal with computer things-it is like speaking another language to me for sure-hard enough to understand when the folks speak ENglish but when they are talking to you with an accent it is especially challenging. We got blasted with rain last night-there were also large lighting strikes and VERY gusty winds but fortunately did not cause us any damage!!


Jan-I LOVE the pictures of the family over on Facebook-I am going to try to get some of the pictures up tonight -we do not have them from the wedding yet but we do have hundreds of the baby I never get any notices about new posts here-I did not set up my account that way-I think it is how you set up your settings-maybe something changed there?

Boy you guys been busy today. Guess everybody is doing well.

Becky, I thought John was going to Canada this week. Must have misunderstood. Hope he had a very good birthday. Alyssa is so cute. I know you enjoy her. And wont be too long before Gracie starts talking, if Alyssa shuts up long enough. But she will do it. Madison talks a mile a minute and it took Dylan a little longer to start talking, but he learned to be loud. Sometiimes too loud. I miss them kids. Will have to go visit soon, whether I am invited or not.

Jan, better start drinking the water. Maybe take mega vitamin c. Did I tell you Jeff fell out yesterday? He had to have some bloodwork done and passed out and hit the corner of the counter on the side of his eye. I thought he would have a black eye today but it dont look that bad. He said when he came to, there were 3 nurses standing around him. Every mans dream. I said, but wont they old. He said when you are his age, all of them are beautiful. He will be 38 in december. Guess it could be a good fantasy though. Even for us ladies, as long as the nurses were guys. I have been a little lazy the last few days. Guess still recooping from the trip. I have to go shopping tomorrow. Guess I will get one of the little things to down load stuff on and put it in another computer. Then I can bring my files in here. I might just take my computer to the flea mall and get it checked out. Then I can use it again. It is so pretty and just sits there. Cant get anything to work.

Lynn, what is Bruce having done to his foot? Hope he gets along good. They had to open up my sil's knee cap and clean it out and take some stitches in it. She broke it. Now has to wear a stabilizer for 12 week and use a walker. It is always something. I got a picture with my shirt on today but got to get my flash drive before I can move it and see it. I dont know where the thing is that plugs into the computer. I cant keep up with squat. I managed to get a couple of ant bites today though. I was talking to this lady in Montana tonight and she said her chickens would eat the ants. Maybe I will get some. Would need a dozen or so, so they could protect each other. If I knew it would work, I would. She said they had grasshopper, but if she lets the chickens in her garden, they would eat her stuff. So atleast the grass hoppers dont eat as much. My cukes quit producing, but I got lots of tomatoes getting ready to start getting ripe. Can hardly wait.

Claire, I saw the young and restless yesterday. I had to tape it. I get it on 2 stations. It comes on at 12:30 and I usally tape it then, but it also comes on at 4:00 and if something is happening at 12:30, I tape it then. If you get soap network, it comes on 3 times a day, I think. I used to watch it at 11 pm when I went to spend the night at amys. I saw it today too. Think Sheila got caught. Victor did not look too happy with her.

No sun again today.. But no rain either..Just wait a minute....!
Evon, MJ is not Sheila.. It is Patti.. Paul crazy sister.. She was the one engaged to Jack.. But he was having an affair with I believe Jill...not sure on that one though.. Oh well things are coming to a head.. They do drag things out too long though.. We have had so much rain that we have some ants coming in the house ..Emile usually sprays around the foundation.. But with all the rain.. He cannot keep up with them.
Jan, I did get my printer straightenned out with the supervisor yesterday.. It only took about 2 hours.. I taught her things she did not know either that my son told me.. They sent me to my computer company saying it was their fault.. But it was theirs.. Their utility clear action was not clearing all before reinstalling the printer.. Oh by the way, I know what you mean about reaching all over to get things unplugged.. Emile put a power strip on the underside back wall of my desk. So if things have to be unplugged, I usually can get to them.. It is also a circuit breaker.. So far it has been better .
Lynn, I also have Dr.'s app. coming up.. Blood work this morning.. I just harte sitting a waiting in the waiting rooms. Hope Bruce's operation goes well. Take care of each other..
Becky, my Mandy is 12 now .. We usually have her every day in the summer.. But she has been spending most of this week at home with her brother and Dad. We certainly miss her.. But she will be back Monday. Her brother comes when he feels like it.. He is supposed to be doing shores at home instead of coming to our home.. but so far this summer all he has been doing is laying around watching TV or on the PC.. That will not work for his Mom all Summer for sure..She gets home so late now that she would like him to at least pick up around the house or start the laundry.. Emile tells him to get a routine going and thigs will get done and he still will have his time to relax.. But you cannot talk to a 114 year old all the time .. They shut you out most times.. Been there, done that with 6..
