My daddy bought it and said if I used it responsibility, didn't get in any trouble and didn't wreck, then the next year he'd help me buy a better car.

Yes, I was a little spoiled But somehow they found a balance with me, despite spoiling me rotten on some counts.

We drive our cars to death too.

Literally to the point where we break down somewhere and end up calling a junk yard to get it for scrap

Thinking back, this is weird actually, I have only SOLD one car when I've been done with it....the rest we drove to death (or were wrecked...not by me). The one car I sold was my 77 t-bird. I sold it to my next door neighbor. It got 4 miles to a gallon so literally an emergency car.

Get OUT! Mine was a B210 hatchback!!! It was white and I thought it was the most wonderful car ever! Mine was a 76 and I paid every cent of it in payments but my Mom did carry my insurance.

Stews, so sorry about your van. You just never know when you get some miles huh? I am driving mine and praying as it has almost 100,000 miles on it. I admit I have almost always bought new cars except for the first one but I don't think I will do that from now on. As much as I LOVE my SUV also I probably will buy a small car next that gets great gas mileage just because that is where the government will be forcing us to go anyway with gas prices going up due to environmental regulations. I am not picky on cars at all just want them to look decent and get good gas mileage. for you I know how awful it is to get stuck somewhere!

Peskie, have you decided what to do yet about the furniture? I am sure the cherry will be perfect honestly but do what you have peace about. I tell you she will be happy just BEING there, no telling what kind of unstable life she has had before. She JUST NEEDS LOVE AND SECURITY! I love her already!

Signed,
Aunt Lucy

Busy day, making my list and won't be here much. Dusty is coming at 11 and then everyone else around 3, still have LOTS to do. Have a wonderful Independence Day and

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Aunt Lucy

You're so sweet!!

Yes, we're going to stick with the cherry. It's more challenging with space. BUT....we can sit on the corner of her bed AND when she grows up and moves out all we have to do is change the bed...the rest is suitable for grown ups.

DH got me up and told me to EAT. He fixed breakfast

Morning. I didnt sleep well so I woke up with DH about 2 hours ago and came and fell asleep on the couch. 11am- probably should make breakfast.

Me and DH are putting together the dresser/changing table today and are going to dinner and a movie.

I want pictures!!

We're taking apart one of the bedrooms today to put the guest bed there and make room for our daughters bed in her room. It's suppose to be delivered Tuesday. So, when you show up, expect the house to be in disarray.

my first car that I owned was a datsun 310 gx hatchback. I swore I was not going to buy the first car I looked at, was not going to buy a stick shift and was not going to buy a black car. guess what I ended up with

our van has a LOT of miles. can't remember how many but well over 100,000.

yeah, us too. the only reason we sold the big boat of a car was because I was pregnant and we wanted a van rather than a car at that point. we were going to have 2 kids in car seats plus one more kid back there. would have been pretty squished for him. even in the big boat of a car, lol.

Makes sense to me.

We'll definitely have to buy another car if I decide to take my former boss up on his offer and make a move.

Our personal cars are a pickup and a 2 seater convertible, neither are family friendly. The bulk of our driving is in the G6, the company car.

Nobody knows except by facebook. He asked if I wanted a lifeline and I'm VERY tempted to say yes.

Not really an "offer" so much as a temptation. I know he'd take me

pros:
I'd *probably* have more time with my kiddo
It'd be a TON of fun

cons:
I'd probably make less
I'd have to buy a car
I'd have to work longer
my current stock...what to do with it
not as highly visible

But my part of the company is up for sale anyway, so I don't KNOW that it'd be to my advantage or disadvantage to stay or leave.

I'll figure it out, I'm sure. Hopefully it will not really be open until after finishing the adoption. I really don't want to change until I get her here.....after all I get 8 weeks paid time off with my current company for bonding time

Lucy, when you get here.....

will you tell me approximately what time you'll be here? I'm making a rough plan of where to fit in certain "must do" things.

DH wants to take us all for lunch Friday at a really nice place...his treat, but I wasn't sure what time you'd get here to tell him if it was okay or not.

The time depends on whether we can go there. Either way.

Hi again. Break time. Actually I'm mostly done now. Dh went to the alarm call and found the front showroom open and those real expensive stamp collection posters missing. Ugh. It took him about 90 minutes for which he doesn't get paid---grrrr and on a holiday too. Stinky P.O.

The good news is my house is all clean except the patio but it's raining very hard and windy so it's getting wet. Luckily dh saw the clouds and the boys grabbed all the pool towels and stuff to bring in. Parents are coming at 5 cause they'll be staying late for dh's fireworks show.
