Welcome Jamie!! Things can be tough when you have a family...heck I just have a DBF and I find this is sometimes challenging...but sooo worth the benfits... I look forward to seeing you here! I have said it before, but just the free Mind space you get from this WOE is worth its weight in gold for me!!

If you need any more encouragement- just take a looksie at Afuentes avatar- did you see the one in the bikini? She looks great and healthy!!

Yesterday was a great day for me! I got up went to the gym (1st trip there in too long). I did my hour of Step with no problem! I didn't eat quite enough - as I worked that evening doing some freelance Bartending... so just gobbled down two pieces of BBQ Chix and 1 piece of corn on the cob- at about 9 pm... I had the headache to prove it... but this morning I feel good!

Today will be a big challenge, I have a graduation party and a birthday party to attend.

Happy Sunday morning all!

Natasha, good luck with your challenges!
Jaime, welcome home!

I am in the two meal a day groove. It's going great. On Friday, I had a bagel with cream cheese for lunch about 1. My boyfriend took me out for dinner about 7 and we had drinks, appetizers, and split desert.

On Saturday, we slept in and wound up talking until 1. I had two waffles with peanut butter for lunch. We went out for dinner about 6 and I had salad, soup, and a small desert.

I am getting in a good groove of skipping breakfast, having a small lunch, and then just enjoying what I want for dinner. I'm finding myself pretty easily satisfied at dinner and am doing well at stopping when I'm full. Don't feel like I am overeating at the evening meal at all--just enjoying it.

I can't scroll back to say to everyone, but I am enjoying all of your posts!

Have a great day!
Rachel

I love this board and hearing what everyone has to say.

I am still deciding what my "window of eating" will be when I go back to work. I think 3-8pm is good or 12pm to 5pm.

I know some are eating naturally - 2 times a day - I do this naturally too. But.....I truly want to try having a window of eating time.

Do any of you have a "window of eating"?

I've sat here for the past hour or so reading through this thread. Totally fascinating! The past week I have been eating dinner only for the most part and have dropped 2 pounds. I might try the 1 meal a day for awhile. I am busy at work and don't have time for lunch anyhow. If I drink an Atkins shake in the morning I find myself feeling super hungry in about 2 hours. But if I only have coffee I don't really feel hungry. Maybe I should save the shake till about noon or so. I drink the shakes for the vitamin and mineral content.

I don't buy into all of the diet myths either. Mostly the starvation mode one and the 4-5 mini meals will keep your metabolism burning. I lost about 50 pounds years ago by eating low calorie (1000 cals. or less) and running on a treadmill. No starvation mode there! It started to come back on when I upped my calories.

Hi DaniMae!

I am just eating one meal a day. I have been having dinner with my family in the early evening. Tonight will be interesting...we are having some friends over for dinner AFTER my sons' baseball games...so we won't be eating until after 8pm...that is WAY later than I have been eating, so we shall see if it causes a problem. We have been eating around 6pm in general.

I sometimes have a coffee in the morning, 2 or 3 litres of water/seltzer, and we eat LC for dinner. Yesterday I had some cabbage around lunch time as I was starving!! It was probably about 1/4 or 1/2 cup. Sat, Sun and Monday though, I only had 1 meal.

My DH has recently started LC with me, and my kids eat whatever I give them...so it works for us. For instance, even with company coming, we will stay fairly LC...grilled London broil, mashed cauliflower and some sliced garden tomatoes with mozzarella.

Have a wonderful day

Finally motivated to exercise

Hey Everybody

Rachel, thanks for the encouragement, but I did crash and burn- not to a crisp, but still burnt around the edges- so dusted myself off and move on.

I am finding that I do need a little something during the day, so I have been having a couple of boiled eggs somewhere between 10-2.. then my LC dinner.

Last night's dinner was awesome: Lobster & Mushroom Alfredo over Zoodles!! You can find this on LindaSue's site. I really love Zoodles.

Back up to my title, I actually feel like exercising again- this is soooo important to me as I LOVE to workout, but I guess I was over taxing my body with sooo much food that I just didn't have the get up and go of the past. It feels wonderful to start feeling like my "old" self...

Livywilltim- So So Happy for you! Your reports are inspirational keep them coming!

Natasha,

I am so happy for you that you are feeling motivated to exercise again! That's such a good point...having re-newed energy is a great side effect of this LC WOE.

Hi everyone,

Just when I posted that I was in the groove, I got out of it. But the good news is that I figured out why. I have mastered skipping breakfast...but I want to eat at night after my boyfriend goes home. So, I think it's because I feel lonely when he's not there (my daughter has been visiting her grandparents.) The last couple of nights when he left, I went to the kitchen and ate chips, but I will have a better plan tonight. I will go to the kitchen and make a cup of tea instead.

Lunch this week is full-fat plain yogurt with nuts and berries stirred into it.

Oh, and I didn't weigh before I started (don't like the scale) but I can tell today that I have lost weight. I am wearing one of my favorite dresses, and it's a bit looser.

Happy Wednesday all,
Rachel

Am diabetic so not such a good idea to skip meals but only when I cut my calories down do I lose weight. I ate Pb toast on ezekiel bread, half cup yougurt with blueberries and davinci blue berries and a scrambled egg with toast for dinner. Hubyy came home starving and didnt want anything I had and I had just bought groceries so we went to Mexican restaurant where I got the taco salad and he wanted guacamole and I ate half that. yikes I was up a pound got to figure out how to be stronger. Today I had a breakfast bar may try a shake and cheese stick for lunch .

Soon- it is sooo tough to work around Hubbies, DBF, DGF, Wives, etc.... I know its one of my biggest challenges- as meal time is sometimes the only time we share during the day. I am lucky my DBF will eat just about anything. My only suggestion is to maybe check in with him before you eat your dinner so you can better plan your calories for the day?

As for me, although I don't feel I over ate, I did eat (2) small meals and then dinner- I am not happy with that and I did feel bloated throughout the day... my problem is I have A LOT of down time at work, so I get bored and my thoughts turn to - what else- FOOD....

Today is another day!

When I was at my happiest, least food-obesessed, (and not to mention, thinnest) I ate two meals a day of whatever I wanted- which actually was relatively healthy. After reading over this thread, I'm going to go back to that. The best thing about it was I just never worried about what I was eating. I felt healthy and looked great and my mind was so free to focus on other things in life.

The main thing I like about this is that it seems no matter WHAT I eat for breakfast- if I eat in the morning my stomach feels bloated and horrible all day. I guess my body likes meals really spaced out. I usually eat at 1pm & 7:30pm or so.

When I did this before I ate my 2 meals of whatever I pleased. Does anyone else do this- or is it just low carb? Just curious?

Back from vacation after last week, no oss or gain, only ate one meal per day but it wasn't lowcarb.
However on Monday and Tuesday nites I had dessert both evening! Scared me so I put a stop to that quick like
I thought I did well to stay on the one meal a day during a 7 day away from home vacation. I'd have a snack, like a pkg of almonds though.

I ate one meal yesterday (pork chop/green beans) and some bacon in the evening (just a couple of slices so I didn't call it a meal).

Today I started my day with 4 slices of bacon on the way to work then I had a pretty big greek salad for lunch so I am done for today.

Challenging myself to walk 6 days in a row with no excuses! I walked last night and it's scheduled for tonight again.

I naturally eat 2 meals a day too. It is mostly low carb but that is b/c I think it is the healthier way to eat. I do love to bake and cook daily so yes.....I will have a bite or two of something naughty.

But I like to have full fat yogurts w/almonds/berries/etc, salads w/fatty dressings and protein, and non starchy casseroles.

Hey All it is FRIDAY!!

Yesterday - perfect IMO! My meal for the day was a late lunch:

Bowl of Portuguese Kale Soup
Large Sweet Potato-Bacon, Sour Cream, Small Amt Cheese/Broccoli

Kettleball class at the gym- then an ice coffee, 1tbl protein power, chocolate almond milk, splash of cream.

Today is going great, I've been sipping my coffee and water all day - not sure what's happening for dinner yet

Hi all,
Well, I'm more committed than ever. I have been having some high blood pressure, and my doctor told me that I need to lose some weight, exercise daily, and eat healthier. My eating isn't bad, and I'm a size 6/8...but if losing even 10 will help me, then I am going to go for it.

I have ear infections in both ears, which is why I went in, so as soon as I feel better, I am going to recommit to the exercise.

I did good with two meals yesterday (no eating at night after my boyfriend left) and am set for another successful day. That and the exercise will hopefully help me lose those ten pounds.

Anyway, just checking in.

Good afternoon

I have one more week of hCG!!!!!!! Then I will be onto my normal eating again. Intuitive low carbing - I like the way that sounds. I eat when I am hungry and that is it.

I am going to try this tomorrow. I might have to do two meals a day though. I wake up starving in the morning. I usually don't eat after 7 the night before. I have been stuck at 122 and I would like to get to goal before Labor Day. These last 2 pounds are going to kill me! Interesting thread.

Hi Jamie!! Great going!!

As for me..I am going to start this week. I have lost over 120 lb on LC in the past 2 years. About a month ago I started gaining weight back even staying VLC. I have noticed if I am busy and just eat 1 meal a day I drop pounds the next morning. I found out that I am in Per menopause and that could be making me gain weight. 5 lbs in a month. and making me crave LC sweets like crazy!!

Time for me to try this! I think I will drink a protein shake in the morning and then just 1 LC meal in the afternoon. If that dont work I will go to 1 meal a day.

Posting to keep up with this thread!! TY ALL!
HUGS

I am trying to eat in a 4 hour window of 2pm until 5pm six days a week. I like doing this but I have just started it on Aug. 6th. I have read some of the e book FAST FIVE which is a 5 hour window but am drinking coffee with heavy cream in the mornings. I am starving at 12 until 2 but it feels good to feel this way. I have lost 2 pounds but am really looking for leaness over weight loss. I am maybe 5 or 10 pounds from what I should weigh for my height and build. Want to lose the roll of fat around waist!!

Yes I do have my coffee w/cream in the morning too. That is why I guess I can't call it Intermittent Fasting. I don't feel hungry though until hours later. Maybe I will have a snack around lunch time but my window will be more like 3-8pm after I am done w/hCG. I am also keeping it lowcarb.
