Well, I may try to join this too. It'll be hard as our food budget is nearly non-existant, but with support, anything is possible.

Yes I will have a very tight food budget for an unknown amount of time too!

I did go price comparison shopping at Sam's Club and my local stores to get an idea of what to buy cheaper and where.

Chicken is on sale everywhere so we bought a bunch of that and grilled it up to eat over the next week. Hamburger is on sale at various stores too.

I am trying to mentally "pysch" myself up for a limited diet of choices, at least for awhile... until I am able to spend more on food.

So I am getting out all of my lowcarb books and I am browsing through all of them.

I am eating cottage cheese with a couple of cherry tomatoes for breakfast.

Yesterday I had mostly chicken and cottage cheese with cherry tomatoes.

Not sure what is on the menu later.

Sooooooo I went to do my BMI (yes I have issues with them... but its what is "official" ).

Calculate your BMI - Standard BMI Calculator

I need to be at 174 pounds to be "only" overweight. (Lose 65 lbs)

And I need to be at 145 pounds to be "normal". (Lose 94 lbs)

So if I lost 100 pounds I would be at a 23.9 BMI.

I would be thrilled to make it to a size 16 again!

I went to that BMI page.. ugh.. in order for me to be "normal"(24.9) I'd need to lose 88 pounds.. That is my "long term" goal - to be 150, but to see the number itself.. ouch.. one day at a time, one pound at a time - I'll get there...

Luna, *sigh* I would also love to be in a size 16 again..

Yes lucky number 16!

You know I don't think weightloss will be "real" until I see a size 16. My brain is having an issue believing it will happen.

I spent half my life very skinny and the other half "heavier". ANd my brain is all screwed up from that!

I have 5 kids, ages 16yo,14yo,12yo,2yo,9months old, only one of them is a girl (the 2yo) and she was the only planned one, lol.

Thanks for posting this challenge, its exactly the time frame I had in mind, my goal weight is 150, so 6 months to lose 60 pounds is perfect.

I have this evil monster that attacks my brain by the third day of good low carbing, begging me to cheat, and he's been very successful so far. Hopefully this challenge will keep the monster away
Blessings!

I have two kids. boy-7, girl-3.. I had dropped about 40 pounds doing low carb about 5 years ago, then got pregnant with my daughter and gained all of it back. I've been struggling to get back on track ever since she was born. I'm done with babies (had to have a hysterectomy back in Jan) so now I have to get focused and finish what I started years ago!!!

Katrin - wow! 5! I too have the evil monster.. he hits me about day 5.. I'm on day 2 today.. I do plan on beating him this time around! Fight him off. You can do it!

Oh oh, I'm the grandma here: We have two children; a daughter age 29 and a son age 27. Our son is married and has gifted us with the miracle of 3 grandchildren. Jonathon is 4, Madeline is 2, and Chase just turned 6 months. We're retired now and living each day in hugs and smooches (with the grandbabies!).
I was a size 12..............for a day................back about 25 years. Just really gained a lot before, during, and after hysterectomy in the '90s. Since January of 2008, I've been doing low carb. Lost nearly 50# but currently, and for the last year, been having problems with portion control.

Now, that I'm reminded that Christmas is exactly 6 months away, I'm hoping to not be the fattest person in the family and friends!!!!

We can do this if we stick together and be here for each other.
