Morning ladies.

The "cholesterol" issue. Depending on what you believe... but alot of lowcarb people do not think "fat" has anything to do with it and many people lower their cholesterol for the first time ever while eating lc.

I am off to eat some eggs.

Beth-Thats great on the loss!woohoo!

lemonmama- I tried doing low carb when I was breastfeeding my last baby and my milk supply quickly started vanishing so I stopped and went to a higher carb intake.

Heidi and Sharon-I think your goals are totally doable! I bet we will all be at goal or very close to it!

Adrielle-Thats one of my fears too but not with exercise haha, this time on Atkins its seems like I have been doing this my entire life..I dont want to lose that.

Sorry if I missed anyone! Night ladies!
Yeah, momentum is key for me with the whole thing, exercise, diet, motivation. Right now, I am at that place too where it seems like I've always eaten this way, and I have to keep it going. It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to go to the gym today, but maybe I'll do some Wii Fit at least. Food today so far has been coffee, 1/2 & 1/2, and 1 Fage yogurt. I'll probably grill up some burgers later. I hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Well I was going to weigh in today but it will have to wait till tomorrow. Our airconditioner broke yersterday the copasitor melted along with some other parts, so my hubbie had to run to ok city to get the parts cause enid didn't have any for our system, they guys said they sold us an odd ball unit. Nice. So Me and the baby and the 3year old stayed at my moms lastnight. He found a window unit at my sis house and borrowed that then took off work today to go get the parts we are waiting now for the house to cool down. Im eating left overs from last night. But ill weigh in tomorrow morning.

Nothing too exciting for me.

Had eggs and mayo for breakfast. Three fresh strawberries. Some watered down tea and a diet coke so far today.

I need to eat some lunch.

Lori.. You can cook for me, too. Those wings look delicious! I feel for you not having an A/C. It's been only in the 70s here, but soon enough it will warm up. I'm glad you get to have a cooler home today.

Adrielle.. How do you like the Wii Fit? The extent of my exercise on the Wii is playing Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, or creating Miis for contests. lol. I've been debating getting it for a while, but I don't know.

I came this close to eating some whole wheat pasta today, but I didn't. I know what will happen if I let myself eat it. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I started. I don't want to start over again. I seem to fall into that same trap... but not this time.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday.

I need a new scale.

My digital one says I have lost 30 pounds since yesterday. Hubby kept saying he was not losing... so I got on yesterday and today.

Uh yeah... it's broken.

Luna, I need a new scale too! I bought a fancy Taylor digital one only about a year ago and now the stupid thing won't even come on. It never did work quite right...

I went to Target and bought a new scale tonight. All I could find was the Taylor brand, but I just got the regular old scale, not the fancy one with the body fat stuff. That's the one I had before that doesn't work. The new one works. I will weigh myself in the morning.

I had some chicken with lemon juice and capers with some freshly grated romano cheese on it for dinner, so that plus 1 Fage yogurt, plus coffee w/ 1/2 & 1/2 for the day. I haven't been using FitDay or anything, just trying to keep the carbs low. I have big plans to go to the gym tomorrow. DH will be home so I can ditch the kids and go!

That's great that you made it back to Curves, Deb!!

Let's see, we have how many weeks left until Thanksgiving? (about 19 and 1/2)
About 23 and 1/2 until Christmas Day.

It's hardly likely for me to get to onederland by then, but that would be my ultimate dream. That'd be averaging OMG at least 4 pounds per week~~ewww. Considering it's been months since I lost ANYTHING, I'll have to rethink my goal. It's humanly possible but since when am I normal.?!$%^&*...................When I lost this first 50 pounds, I know we had a pool membership. It's just hard to physically get TO the pool (far end of the Motel) and BACK to the car!!!! Plus the cost is so prohibitive right now. It does seem the best way for me to get a good workout, since nothing hurts in the water!!!!

I started back exactly 2 weeks ago today. So far I've lost 18 pounds. I'm hoping to lose about 2 pounds per week from now on.

I got up early to get produce at the grocery store this morning. My "m" key broke off my laptop this morning. I'm not sure how. It just popped off and the part under the key was broken. Hmmm. Now I have to push really hard on the little rubber thing that the M key used to sit on. I've had this computer for 2-1/2 years. This is the first time I had any problem with it.

Well, off to make breakfast.

Have a great Tuesday!!!

Good morning ladies!

Wow, great job Heidi! I have a key popped off on my home laptop as well and I keep having to stick it back in, it drives me nuts. Good luck with that. :-)

Adrielle, do you put anything in your Fage or do you eat it plain? Sometimes I will throw a couple of blueberries in it but I need to think of some other ideas because I can rarely finish it plain.

I have a digital scale from Target too and I often wonder how accurate it is which is irritating when you are looking for every little bit down. I wonder if there is a consumer report somewhere on inexpensive scales to show ones that are more accurate.

OK, I have to share what I made for dinner last night because it was fantastic. I cook quite a bit so I often just create something with no recipe so I will have to give you my version versus an actual recipe because I made it up as I went. It is individual portions of eggplant lasagna.

Started with a medium size eggplant (4-5 in tall) and sliced into 6 slices. I peel the eggplant with a carrot peeler, but it is personal taste whether or not you like the peel. I put a very light coat of olive oil on both sides along with a little dusting of salt and fresh ground pepper and arranged them all flat on a baking sheet and baked at 350 for about 20 minutes. This both cooks the eggplant and draws out the excess liquid so they aren't soggy.

While these were in the oven, I browned a pound of ground beef, drained it and then added italian seasoning (quite a bit), a little minced garlic, a little salt and a drained can of diced tomatoes.

Took out a small bowl and mixed about a cup (maybe a little more) of ricotta with a little red pepper flakes and a lot of oregano.

I took out one corning ware dish and two freezer dishes and assembled three servings from this.

In each dish I layered in this order:
-Eggplant slice
-ground beef/tomato mixture
-scoop of ricotta mixture
-Eggplant slice
-ground beef/tomato mixture

and then I grated a little mozzarella over the top, less than a 1/4 cup.

One I put in the oven, the other two I put in the freezer for other evenings.

It was ridiculous good. I calculated each dish at about 11 carbs.

Thought I would share in case anyone has a taste for something Italian-esque.

Great recipe, gk! Too many carbs for me right now. I have to, HAVE TO BEHAVE!

Thinking of budgeting for pool membership after figuring out that's what helped me lose and feel great last year!

Hi everyone! I weighed myself this morning and I'm down 7 pounds from when I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago, although that was in the afternoon and I was wearing jeans, so it's probably more like a 5 pound loss. I'm so excited that I have a working scale now, because seeing the pounds come off is a HUGE motivator for me.

To answer a couple questions, yes, the Wii Fit is cool! It keeps track of your stats, how much you use it, your BMI, etc. Some of the exercises are easy but some are challenging. You unlock more things the more you use it. My biggest problem is that I'm not good with gaming systems and it's kind of overwhelming for me to set up, so I only use it if DH (or my kids, lol) set it up for me.

The Fage yogurt I get is the "total", whole fat kind which has 6 carbs for the container.
I like it plain. It's not as tart as regular plain yogurt because it's strained, like yocheese. I get it at either Target, Publix, or Wholefoods. Walmart doesn't carry it, and I don't know about Albertson's. They are kind of pricey (around $1.99 for 1), but I eat them as a meal, so really it evens out...it's a lot less than a combo meal at Wendy's! I seem to lose ok while eating them, but I lose the best with just meat/eggs, of course.

I hope everyone is having a great day so far!

Today all I've eaten so far is a Fage yogurt and coffee. I went to the gym and did 45 minutes/4.5 miles on the elliptical. I have some steaks on the grill right now, so that will be dinner. I have to say that I am truly hungry right now. Looking forward to eating something!

Worked my tail off today, peeps! We just got a chipper/shredder (machine that you put tree branches into and it turns them to mulch), and it's like playing with a new toy. :-) I used it for over an hour. So, I'm counting that as a workout no doubt.

It seems like many of us have not been hungry today, including me. I am up to a grand total of 8 grams of carbs for the day.

Hope the whoosh fairy visits everyone in their sleep tonight.
