Welcome new moms!

Today is the BIG day!!!!!

This morning I had a couple of scrambled eggs. Tonight we will do another big walk when it cools down.

I am going to let myself have some diet pop this first couple of weeks when any "bad" cravings hit. And then I am going to drop it. I figured it might help this time around.

I was thinking the same thing about the diet pop... It helps with the cravings... I would truely love to be able to stop drinking pop, in the near future and see if it helps my results... Im just ready to see the scale move again...lol

Luna- Actually nothing severe at all! Luckily. My hubby constantly eats crappy foods in front of me and when I get an urge to grab something of his I either think of myself necked or I make me some yummy flavored with tea with CO in it,it hits the spot and the CO helps me stay full.

Katrin- Good for you,I really need to get more creative in the kitchen!

I worked out to Jillian Michaels and could only handle 15mins I am SOO out of shape!

Well I finished the other half of my salad and I had 3 hamburger patties with cheese for dinner. I was REALLY hungry! LOL

I have some frozen berries and heavy cream for later *IF* I "need" them. So far I am ok though.

I feel like my biggest challenge is how to feed the whole family something they will like, on budget, filling and satisfying, without putting myself into too much temptation.

For instance, a juicy steak would be nice for me at dinner, but I can't feed the whole family steak except on a rare occasion. They always want chocolate chip cookies. Fresh bread from the bread machine makes a handy side dish.

Count me in!

hello and thanks for the invite
182 this morning only lost half a pound. But down is good.
trying to decide what to have for breakfast.

Only had 1 glass of Publix diet black cherry yesterday (caffeine free) that is a big deal for me.

Difficulty falling asleep last night, mild headache this am...normal for day 3 I assume.

Mindy, saw your reply to my other post but someone says I am too new to do a private message....I don't know how long you have to be a member to do that....

Looking for ideas of what food to pack for a beach day on Saturday with skinny girlfriends and our families. Welcoming ideas girls!!

I hope that I develop healthy eating habits that will help me to maintain my weightloss. I have realized that I'll more than likely have to always watch what i eat. I hope that knowing that & through exercise I'll be able to stay healthy.

Does anyone do exercise? If so, what are you doing? I thought I'd start out just walking.

To be honest the answer seems to be one (or more) of these three:

1. Find more money.

2. Everyone lowcarbs, but keeps it lower cost.

3. We just HAVE to have better willpower.

In the end there is always going to be crap to eat. We can't blame our kids as it is us who put that crap in our mouths. Though they are handy for that.

It does require we find that inner core of strength to go off of, and it requires thinking outside the box. And it requires everything to NOT be perfect for us. But then again we are moms... when is it ever perfect for us?

I cannot make everyone in my family the same meal. I have never been able to and never will be able to. Out of the five of us... two are autistic with sensory food issues, four have medical conditions, and one had anaphylactic food allergies that could kill him.

Needless to say I will never have my "dream" of it all being "easy" for me. I had to mourn that loss and let it go. And then accept that I could not change it.

My best advice is to try to tweak your overall budget to free up a bit more for food. Then go and read my two threads in my siggy and all the other good "frugal" threads posted on page one. Figure out a way to make it a family process. Then if you have to "fluff" it up with something carby.... try to make it plain (like plain noodles and rice).... ANYTHING that is not a serious trigger food for you. Even if your family does not need to lose weight, no family or kid needs to eat empty carbs and sugar every day!

It's hard.... but mourn the "loss" and accept and move on. It's the only way, and it was a hard lesson for me to learn!

Well as a family we started doing power walking at least once a day for at least 1/2 a mile.

I also have many dvd's and a Wii + board.

Good morning!

to the new moms!

day 7 here for me. down 7 lbs. Feeling good.

I realized yesterday that I do have the willpower... Had to go to Costco, and the kids usually want the pizza slice, etc. I was hungry and usually would just give in and eat whatever. BUT-I got a hot dog and didn't touch the bun! I also got the kids cookies and have not touched them! Normally, I would have just eaten them and rationalized why...
HUGE step for me.. It is possible!!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Christy, I did the same thing at Sams club, got their two giant hot dogs with no bun, it was yummy and cheap!
As of yesterday July 1st, down 2 lbs by this morning, but probably water

We don't have health issues regarding food but I do have very picky teens & crazy schedules to deal with. Here's what I do: when chicken quarters are on sale I buy alot & freeze them in family serving sizes. I roast them with sugar free spices, add a veggie like broccoli or salad & fix the kids pasta. They like the pasta with just butter & cheese & I'm not tempted. DH is out of the country for 3 mos at a time so I don't have to worry about him. What's left over in the chicken I put in a container in the fridge & we can snack on it when we're hungry.
