Hi guys - I posted a while ago but have not updated as we've been traveling.

I would love to join this challenge - will change my sig to include my weight loss goals. I seem to do better when I have a set goal in mind.

This time, I plan to keep a food journal on Sparkpeople.com. Plan to set that up later.

It will take me awhile to get caught up on this thread but will try!

Welcome TherisaMarie and Portia!

VGrace, I tried the smoothie with 8 oz Almond Breeze, 1/4 C strawberries, a few ice cubes, scoop of protein powder and some Sweet & Low. It was good... pretty creamy. 153 calories, 7 carbs (5 Net). Not bad.

Do you think Almond Breeze would be ok for induction? I realize it's not on "the list" in DANDR, but it's a fairly new product to the market. It would be a great dessert with some Davinci's and flax seed, blended up.

Hmm, textbook Atkins says you aren't supposed to have nuts during induction and Almond Breeze is made from almonds but the counts are so much lower than eating a handful of almonds. Per Fitday, 22 almonds are 5.6 carbs and 164 calories and one 8 oz serving would be less than a third of that. It is really your call but I can't imagine why it would be an issue. Just make sure you get the one that says "Unsweetened" on the box.

Hello, I am new to low carb friends but I am hoping that it is not to late to join in on this challenge. It is just what I need to stay motivated and....... since I have such a long way to go this would be a great mini-goal to work toward.

I think exactly the same, i just count the amount of almonds, my serving says up to 24 almonds is 6g carb but minus 3g of fiber=3g net carb mines are Blue Diamond Almonds. But i always get 20 almonds "just to make sure"...

I think this is completely normal. But one thing I can tell you is that once you do it, you will feel better. It gets easier everyday and you will see so much better results then with just changing your eating habits.

I still don't love to exercise, but I know it is something that I just have to do. Try doing it first thing in the morning that way you cant make excuses for not doing it for the rest of the day.

Hang in there, it will get easier

Crap. All of the sudden today I have that gnawing want to cheat feeling. I haven't felt like this since the first weekend I got back on track with low carb. I think I must be pms'ing when I traditionally overeat and make bad choices.

OK, venting complete... I am just going to try to push through it. :-)

VGrace, do you have an Albertsons or an Albertson's owned chain? They should have it. Or, any asian market.

Welcome Humbledheart!

Welcome Therisa, Humbledheart and Portia! Lots of time to achieve great things before Dec. 25.

I got some 16's today. They fit. Well. It's been over four years since I could shop at The Gap. Or so I thought. The last time I went, they didn't carry 18s and 20s, which they do now. Which burns me; I didn't get the memo. But still, yay!

I can't wait until the Victoria Secret store carries my size. Or, rather, I can't wait until I carry their size...

awesome!

Diana- Yes I do have an Albertsons here,I have yet to check it but I will the weekend,I sure hope they have it!
We all get that urge from time to time, all I can suggest is to go all out and make you some great LC food, even if you go over your carbs limit a little its better then going off plan. I just made the 3-min flour less chocolate and I have to say I enjoyed it!

Luna- I was thinking the same thing too I am very excited to see all our stats around Xmas!

Goalachiever-I feel ya! You just got to get out there and try, maybe start with something simple like walking and then progress to something more challenging. I personally love strength training more then I do cardio, but its all about finding something you love!

Sorry if I missed anyone

I did well today, went over my carbs a little but nothing to worry about.
I need to stay away from the berries! haha

The tought of wearing Vicki's Secret again....oh the days.

I have two children, one adopted (11 yo son) and one biological (15 yo daughter) I love them both dearly.

I can not say this is baby fat...I lost all my baby weight right after having my dd. I've just been lazy and have packed it all on in the last 15 years...

Does this disqualify me from being in this thread?

My babies are 16, 12, and 9. They love me but I want them to be proud of me, and I want to be a good example to them, too.

OH, I am sooooo in! I just had a baby boy June 8th, got to 245!!! I'm down to 213 as of today, and I was going to do a six month thing. It would be a lot better if there were somewhere I could go for support.

Good Morning!!!

Hope everyone is doing well...I am absolutely exhausted. I have relatives coming in tomorrow and trying to get everything "in order" and doing the normal stuff too has left me with little time to sleep

I am on day 10 of induction and have not lost any more than I had the 3rd day??? I seem to have stalled. My cravings are pretty much non existant now though. Yipee! Anyone have that problem on induction? I thought it would go quickly when my carbs are this low Maybe lack of sleep has something to do with it. I'm getting about 5 hours lately???

Welcome to everyone joining! I am new too! This site has helped me so much...even when I'm not posting, I read and get recipe ideas and everyone is really helpful. You will like it here

Hope everyone has a great day!

I am going through that right now. Started at 198 and I'm only down to 194 =/ It hasn't changed since friday Take your measurements though...I didnt lose much weight but 10 inches!! I suspect it was b/c I started around when I ovulate and now I am about a week out from TOM so that's probably what my hold up is. Have you added anything back into your diet??

I am getting VERY little sleep too. I can say from personal experiance that no sleep + stress = no weight loss. Even without eating cr@p!

Morning ladies!

I am a walking zombie. Nothing like hardcore insomnia when you are sleep deprived to begin with!

Not sure what is on the menu today. Not sure what I am doing either.
