unfortunately, i'm obsessive over the scale too. i weigh myself several times a day and it drives me nuts cuz i can flutuate up to 4 pounds per day. when i'm up like that over the course of one day, it really puts me down. last week my bf threw my scale out the back door cuz i was trying to weigh myself and he said it would ruin our night. That's pretty bad that he has to feel the effects of my weight fluctuations too. i feel like that commercial (i think it's weight watchers or low fat oatmeal or something) where the girl drags the scale around all day by a chain on her ankle. I just had a mini binge and went and weighed myself and i was up 4 pounds from this morning, which if that weight sticks would mean i undid the last 2 weeks. ugh. bf is out riding for the night and unfortunately when i find myself alone i find myself stuffing my face. it was all low carb food but still had some carbs. gosh i just introduced myself and i already sound like a train wreck! oh well, what 20something girl isn't a little nutty or infatuated with her own insecurities?

I was 191.4 today.... I was "194ish" last monday (I totally did a fake weigh in and didn't record the number because I was sad it was so high). So I'd say almost 3 pounds this week? I'm doing great. Food is not controlling my life and I am a new person! No more nuts and cheese this weekend! And yes, I still drank, but I drank lower carbed drinks and stayed on plan and still managed to lose. I hope this feeling never leaves!

Christi-- I can totally relate to feeling like you were fat when you were not fat. When I was in high school I was 145lbs and I thought I was huge. I WAS SO NORMAL. I had like, a perfect figure. But I started dieting (LCing), got to 125 and went off plan. Right at that point I went to college, and I never stopped gaining! Since then, I gained 75 pounds. Now I would give my left nut sack (kidding, obv) to be 145. OR 165!!!! I feel like I would appreciate it so much more, and be SO confident, that in the long run, maybe this period of time in my life will be worth it. Right now it seems like all misery, but if it could secure me a lifetime of being "comfortable" with myself in the 125-160 pounds range, I think it could be worth it. I miss that feeling.

Also, I'm so sorry to hear about losing your BF at such a young age... it sounds like it was terrible. I am so glad to see you have found someone (plus, that means there is hope for me! ) So welcome to our group!

hey christi, i'm at the summer challenge too, welcome! you are such a strong person, you will kick those pounds in no time! i'm also scale obsessed. although i was always overweight, it sounds like all of us felt the same way about our bodies. for me it's been hard to see the changes as i started losing weight... i was so excited for onederland, and was kinda sad with what i saw at that point. it was a big hurdle in my journey, to be disappointed in such a huge accomplishment... but it fueled the fire!

i pretty much maintained this week, my grandpa passed away on saturday and so far this week has been topsy turvy. every night we've been at my grandma's and i haven't slept well. i'm trying hard to stay on plan, but at this point it's more about being with family. a few off days in the long run are not gonna change my dedication to this woe and i'm fine with that.

thx everyone for the welcomes and support!

lil3- very sorry for your loss. celebrating a long lived life will come easier in time.

I'll check back in later, i'm busy at work but i just wanted to say i'm pissed! this morning i was 187.5. up 2.5 pounds from yesterday morning! i don't think it's just a fluctuation either, as i got the same figure last night.

I think i'm gonna try a couple days of meat and eggs only. I love cheese tho so i'll have to see if i can go without that. Also, I've never made any attempt to give of caffeine or AS drinks. What are your experiences with this stuff?

i'm doing this in the other thread i'm in and anyone is welcome to join in a lil mini challenge with me.

Now until Sat... meat, eggs, limited cheese, 0 carb condiments, and diet pop/crystal light only.

I need to work on limiting my cheese intake anyways, but i think it's time to put the LC treats, veggies, and dressings on hold for a few days and knock off a couple pounds. Any takers?

little3-- I'm sorry to hear about your Grandpa Honestly, just maintaining this week is a huge accomplishment. What was it about getting in onederland that you felt disappointed by? Did you look different than you imagined you would?

thanks guys, i want this week to end, but it feels like time is passing slower lately.

samantha - i set onederland as my first major goal and it was, i had lost 69 pounds from my highest (recorded - probably not actual highest) weight... but i don't remember being that weight in my life... i probably weighed that much when i was in 5th or 6th grade, so i had no idea what i'd look like. it was built up so much in my mind as a milestone, i wanted to suddenly feel better in my skin and obviously that takes time... probably more time than losing the weight will. so it was a reality check that losing the weight won't change the mindset, i have to work on both simultaneously. i wasn't disappointed with how i looked, i just was hoping to feel different and i really didn't at that point.

hey ladies! wake up out there! how's everyone doing?

This is day 3 of meat eggs and cheese only and i've lost 5lbs so far! i dunno how long that loss will stick, or it may even be gone tomorrow. i needed a little kickstart though after a couple weeks of discouraging negligable weight loss while staying between 15-30 carbs per day. I did level 2 of jillian michaels shred last night. it wasn't as scary as i thought it may be, but i did do the "modified" moves half the time. It was kinda hard on my wrists.

Thought I'd say hey and check in. Have a good one.

Good for you! I still haven't tried that video but it's sitting here on my TV. What has your menu been for the past 3 days?

I'm doing GREAT. Still in ketosis, no dairy and no nuts. I've lost like 5 pounds over the past week or two and I'm back in the 180s!!! Was 189.6 today. I cannot wait to continue on like this. I have no second thoughts and no plans to cheat. Maybe some drinking plans this weekend, but I drank last weekend too and still lost weight and didn't get silly drunk.

Where are the other Stillman's people? I've switched over b/c I was GAINING on Atkins! I know its due to my medication, but things were getting ridiculous! Now I've lost about 3lb in the last 3 days...I'm so glad to finally see the scale move in the right direction for once!

Samantha- great job on ur loss! Here's what i've had over the last 2.5 days leading up to my (hopefully Not short lived) 5 pd loss

M&E(+C) Day 1..
b:4 microwave sausage links
l: a few pieces of lunch meat
D: 4 pcs bacon, 2 fried eggs, 2 scrambled eggs (no milk) with some cheddar

M&E(+C) Day 2..
b: ham and some cheddar
l: skipped
s: a few pepperoni
d: 3 pcs of grilled KFC chicken with one packet of hot sauce
s: cubes of muenster cheese
s: 4 pcs bacon
s: melted cheddar cheese
(I was really bad about limiting my cheese and night snacking cuz bf wasn't home and i always end up pigging out when i'm home alone)

Day 3..
B: a few pcs of ham lunchmeat
L: ham with with melted cheddar
D: i think i'm going to make baked chicken breasts. I will prolly dip them in egg then into 0carb sprinkle parm with some other spices. I might hardboil a few eggs tonight too.

I really need to go grocery shopping. I'm bored with my lunchmeat and out of food. Cmon payday!

jupiter- what r the limitations on stillmans? i know its a stricter leaner LC WOE, but what kind of things have u been eating?

Christi,
Stillman's emphasizes lean meats...you can also have a limited amount of cheese (farmers or cottage), a limited amount of vegetables, and a couple of eggs. I think you can have a few other things, but these are what I've been focusing on. I've been sticking to eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, mahi mahi, and veggies. They say you'll lose faster if you drop the cheese and veggies, but this WOE is so restricted as it is, and I'm losing just fine, so I keep them in my foods list. I'm not always on plan...sometimes I'll have a low carb/low fat/high protein shake, and it doesn't seem to affect me. There's a full list of allowable foods in the Stillman's forum.

thanks for the info. one thing i've discovered about myself is that i can't succeed on any diet plan if i feel deprived for any extended period of time. That diet sounds too restrictive for me, but definitely sounds like it works! good luck to you

Christi,
I hear ya on that! I've gotten to the point where I have no other choice but to restrict fats as well b/c of my medication causing weight gain. I'm so frustrated with gaining that a restricted diet really isn't all that bad....especially when I think of the alternative. I'm so tired of being overweight, and my medication does not help!

Stillman's girlie - right here! I am dropping about a pound to a half pound a day. The faster the loss the harder it is for it to stick so I am pretty worried about KEEPING it off. I am fairly close to goal so when I reach that I am just going to SLOWLY add back in my carbs and keep up with my excercise program. Speaking of which I need to go on a bike ride TONIGHT!

Howdy!

Just thought I would check in with everyone and it looks like you guys are doing well. I am still plugging and chugging away at Stillman's, although I am still having problems with it on the weekends.

I just booked a cruise to Mexico for myself and my husband. My birthday will be that same week on October 7. I know I will have reached goal by then but the thought of looking hot in a bikini in Cabo is really motivating me right now. There is not much bikini weather in Washington State. It is few and far between.

It's funny - I am really starting to feel comfortable again with myself and my body and it shows. My husband was saying that he notices when I feel "fat" I don't wear any makeup and look "dumpy" - wear sweats and baggy stuff and I try to hide. I think he likes the new and improved me because now that I am feeling better I actually try to look good! I love low carbing. This is the only diet that has really worked for me.

I was 187.6 today. I cannot even put in words how miraculous this is. I have that concert today and I remember a week or two ago I was wishing a ridiculous thought that I could be 187 by the show because something about that number makes me feel good. And here I am!!! I haven't been below 187 in a good year or two.

I slipped last night after going drinking and had a chicken quesadilla... something about this slip is proving to me that I am on a roll because 1) I feel guilty today, like real regret, not just oops shouldn't have done that regret. And 2) I am still in ketosis, and have zero intention to eat off plan today. ZEEEEEEERO. I am in this to win this! Hahaha. How lame am I?

paperthin--- I do the same thing!!! You'd think when I feel fat I'd try to compensate by wearing makeup, cute clothes etc, but instead it all turns to sh&t. When I'm on plan I take care of myself so much better. I love it. What a good goal you have! I think we need pics of you in a bikini. HAHA is that totally creepy that I just wrote that?! You can be our thinspiration.

Heyjupiter-- Can I ask what meds you're taking that make you gain? I'm a medical student, so just wondering! Perhaps I may have a nugget of advice for you

Christi-- Your menu looks good.... I don't think I can eat cheese. I'm jealous that you can eat munster and still lose. WAHHHHHH. Have you lost anymore since you last posted?

i did four days of m&e and am letting some carbs back in. i just needed a kickstart. i was 183 this morning, so if that sticks then that's down 4.5 since tues.. but i was up on tues. weekends are usually tough though. 183 was my goal this week, so hopefully i can maintain (or lose) til monday. i really wanna see 170s by month end, so i gotta try to be good. i wouldn't mind a low carb beer or 4 though lol, and i know how that tends to stall. cheating hasnt really been a problem for me, but overindulging in low carb foods is pretty much the same thing. grocery tomorrow to stock up on good choices and prep for the week. i'm going to try some linda sue recipes!

so to answer ur questions sam, i think last time i checked in i was 182.5, the following day up to 184, and now this morning 183.

good luck this weekend ladies!... especially those of u who tend to get the drunk munchies

great job to everyone

Samantha, congrats for hitting your short term goal. Your dedication has paid off have fun at the concert.

I'm doing well, still sticking to plan as usual, but I've been drinking more diet pop and some of those crystal light type drinks, so once I finish the box today I'm not buying them again. I have a date with a good friend today roaming the city and we plan on eating at in n out...yum! then I'll be spending the night with my boyfriend watching movies so it should be a fun day

Samantha, I am taking Geodon for PTSD. I am currently on the lowest dose (20mg/day), and its still a struggle. The medication works better at 40mg/day, but I gained about 10lb in 2 weeks. I was not willing to deal with such an extreme side effect, so I lowered my dose back to 20mg/day. I'm considering going off of the medication b/c it is said that it messes with your blood sugar. I have a feeling that's what its doing to me. I'm just so frustrated!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You are doing awesome. Just remember how great it feels to reach your goal and don't let the food distract you from that. I feel like when we screw up (my screw ups are candy, chocolate and desserts) that taste of candy or whatever is SO not worth it. You are on your way to looking hot cha cha, woman! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Hey Guys...

Just checking in from the weekend. The weekends always suck for me, but I am pretty happy because I didn't go to far from plan. I stick with Stillman's during the weekdays so by the time the weekend rolls around and I am eating things like salad, nuts, beef and low carb ice cream.

The major challenge is that I go too far with it and start eating everything - not stuff like rice and bread, but this weekend I had an apple, nectarine, too much peanut butter (on my apple) and an iced coffee from Jack in the Box which I KNOW was full of sugar. Instead of going right back to plan, I finished up the rest of my Easter candy because I didn't want to throw it out and just wanted it out of the house so it would quit tormenting me...

Good bye Easter Candy - GOOD RIDDANCE!

So back on plan for Monday - WHOO HOO!

Okay I clicked on it too and apparently they are "awaiting approval". Someone has to check out the pics and make sure I am not posting up my "fat chick porn"!?! :P

I read that the pictures should be approved in 24 hours or so...

hey all!

paperthin, cheers to a clean stillman's monday! kudos to you, stillman's is always harder for me, so go you!! s/f candy always does me in too. i'm fine with a few pieces, but then i always crave other things! durn.

samantha, aaah!! 187 is brilliant, i'm so happy that you were able to reach it by the concert. how was it!?

lalala, i am addicted to snapple diet peach iced tea packets... for serious. i'm gonna try and take your lead... and not buy them after they are gone this time. it's gonna be tough!

christi, how'd the weekend go? i hope the m&e loss stuck and you lost more!

as for me, i weighed in this morning at 174.0. that's 1.6 for the last 2 weeks. not a lot, but the small loss and then the ability to maintain it means a lot. the last week was overwhelming, and with all the family dinners (one everyday since my grandpa past away) i am impressed. i had pasta 3 times this past week.

explanation: my aunt is from italy and when she visits she always brings pesto and different pastas. i wasn't about to decline her special meals this week, so i decided to just deal with it later. i was very happy that the servings i had did not make me sick at all (that was my major worry). i was thrilled that 1. it did not make me crave more carbs 2. i was able to enjoy it without freaking out about it and 3. i maintained (well even lost half a pound this week).

and to top the week off i completed week 5 of couch to 5k, which is a 20 minute run. straight! no stopping. i can't believe it still. i jogged 20 minutes straight, very slow just about 1.5 miles. but aah! i'm happy about it.

as for me, i weighed in this morning at 174.0. that's 1.6 for the last 2 weeks. not a lot, but the small loss and then the ability to maintain it means a lot. the last week was overwhelming, and with all the family dinners (one everyday since my grandpa past away) i am impressed. i had pasta 3 times this past week.

explanation: my aunt is from italy and when she visits she always brings pesto and different pastas. i wasn't about to decline her special meals this week, so i decided to just deal with it later. i was very happy that the servings i had did not make me sick at all (that was my major worry). i was thrilled that 1. it did not make me crave more carbs 2. i was able to enjoy it without freaking out about it and 3. i maintained (well even lost half a pound this week).

and to top the week off i completed week 5 of couch to 5k, which is a 20 minute run. straight! no stopping. i can't believe it still. i jogged 20 minutes straight, very slow just about 1.5 miles. but aah! i'm happy about it.
Hey, awesome job on doing the c25k. I'd love to get into it, but my biggest challenge is just getting to the gym regularly. I use to go daily when I had a free membership. Then I had to pay almost $700 last year and since then I've only gone like 6-8 times

And regarding the little powdered drinks, I don't know if you've tried the new ocean spray ones but they taste too good to not drink like 3 or 4 in a row. The cran-grape flavor and white cran-peach are awesome so if you get addicted to things quickly, don't buy these!!

I had a good weekend. I ate a lot, especially on saturday, so as a result I kept it a bit lighter yesterday. I'm down 1 lb this morning to 157 lbs. I set a short term goal of 155 by the end of June and I just may be able to make it.

Today I start my summer school class. Then I'm meeting up with my boyfriend so we can go bike-riding and we'll be riding over the Golden Gate Bridge. Dinner will probably be Chipotle since I've been craving it like crazy

Everyone have a great day and keep working towards your goals.
