Sorry I haven't been around! it has been kind of
Randy laid about 1/2 of the laminate flooring in the living room. We now have the front 1/2 of the living room to do (finish painting, flooring) and then I can figure out if I want to paint the kitchen or not. I think I do....Otherwise we have been ok and i hope everyone on here is too....not much activity on here last week. I hope to be on here more this week. Right now the house is quiet...everyone is still sleeping! I love this time of day.....

i dodn'tsleep well last night. My daughter flew to France, and l;anded at 3am our time. I could not sleep at all waiting for her texst that she had made it. Then I couldn't call her because something was messed up with the phone. We got that fixed though, and I have now talked with her. I know she is safe. I feel better.

Pam: Glad your daughter made it over there safe and sound...my youngest leaves for London 7/5 for about 3 weeks. She will be taking a class over there that counts toward her degree. Which cell phone does she have? My daughter was saying she'll have to get a different cell phone for over there. She will be doing 2 field trips while over there. I know one of them is a weekend in Paris but can't remember what the other one is.....

We ordered one through Piccell Wireless. you have to get a different sim card for each country. The total for ours was 48 dollars for both France and Spain. I think that if you have ATT service here you can use your phone over there, but we have cellular south.
They give you a virtual us (mississippi for us) number, so what we do is she can text me on the phone, then we call her on the virtual number, which is a local call from my cell phone so no long distance charges. Incoming calls for her are free in the home country, and then she will change the sim card when she goes to spain. Well worth it. We split the cost with her boyfriend, who is also on the trip. She can't get texts back from me though. I feel much better knowing that I can keep in touch with her.

Hi all, I've been having router/computer problems and need to call a tech tomorrow. Maybe it'll get fixed soon. I think me trying to fix it really messed it up good.

Hi all, I've been busy entertaining, limping around like a dork and working on my bird bath. Eating has been pretty good. I made a whole chicken for dinner last night and ended up making an awesome soup out of the broth. It's chuck full of veggies and very good. We're having it for dinner tonight.
When I'm finished with the bird bath, I'll post a picture of it. It's a lot of work, but I think it's coming out pretty good. I just hope being outside and filled with water won't ruin it. Lou |

Hi, Everyone. I am curious. Are you doing low-carb with WW? I am considering joining WW so that I will have the weekly meetings for accountability and support. But would like to keep it low carb....
Thanks, Kate |

I'm doing lowER carb, but low carb all the way. I don't count carbs, and if I want something high carb, I'll have it - I just count the points. I do try to stay away from unhealthy carbs, like white bread and stuff like that. I'll have whole grain most of the time, if I have bread or pasta at all. When I was most successful on WW, I did a protein / no carb day on Monday, kept it lower carb the rest of the week, and weigh-in day was the only day I allowed myself to have pasta or rice. The other days I had veggies and meat for dinner - same thing as I ate in Atkins, except I kept the meats lean.
Lou ETA. I do allow myself fruits whenever I want them and I do drink milk. |

I am back to trying to really calorie cycle., eating enough calories. I told my husband, who keeps saying that it is too many calories for him, that we have tried everything else. but don't stick to it or it doesn't seem to work anyway, so why not attempt something new? Many experts say that you need to eat to lose.

PUBLICALLY STATING MY GOAL:
I want to weigh 125 lbs. I want to lose 70 lbs. I want to lose 40 lbs by my anniversary, August 9, 2009. I want to have 25% body fat, maximum. There. I did it. The book says that you must have specific goals and state them out loud. I am reading the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle ny Tom Venuto. |

Me too. She and Liam Neeson had been married since 1994. A milestone in Hollywood. I feel sad for the family and her sons.

Here I am Pam!I meant to thank you for posting your goals. I think it makes a difference to say them out loud. Here's mine: I want to lose 30 pounds. I want to lose it by the end of the summer. I want to fit into my Lucky Jeans again. And I want to get rid of my gigantic fat belly. That's going to take exercise, which I did on Thursday. Now I just have to keep doing it. Lou |
