Me too! I hate it! I could at least get used to ONE or the OTHER of them, but this switching back and forth really messes me up. I didn't go to bed until midnight last night then woke at 6:30 only to realize that it was actually 7:30 and I forgot to change the clock on my nightstand.
Didn't help my mood at all.But I really have no excuse for walking in the afternoons now (except for stalker neighbor and he's left me alone for a while now ). |

Good morning all - here is a pic of Ellie with her new haircut. She looks SO grown up! Looks like she is going to come spend the weekend with us in June - JUST ELLIE! I can hardly wait. Kyle is coming to stay with Katy for the weekend to go to the Dave Matthews concert, so I suggested she bring Ellie so she can have her first weekend with Grammie. I am SO excited!
Kinda quiet around here today - we are just recovering from losing Nick last night (Charlie's parrot, long post on playground) I have my first "on my own " Yale interview tomorrow so that job is finally off the ground. Other than that it will be a pretty quiet week. Hope everyone has a good one too. ![]() Oh yea, here's a good Monday smile pic, too! ![]()

Oh, my, what sweet kiddies! They are growing fast, aren't they?
I woke up late today, too! We were getting snow! Has stopped now, though, and just a little slush left. Finished my taxes and we owe the feds but are getting a big refund from the state. Obviously I need to adjust the withholding there! |

So much cuteness!!!
And all that snow! Wow, I've never seen so much snow. Linda, lucky you! I haven't had my taxes done yet but I've had to pay for the last several years. I had my withholdings changed last year but it wasn't until after tax time, so nearly half the year had gone by. ![]() Lisa, was it you who fixed up my avatar picture for me? Do you happen to still have it? I can't see where I saved it on my computer. ![]() Hi, JRod. ![]() |

JRod!Great pics, Celeste! Thanks for sharing -- I didn't have a lot of down time today but when I finally did, it was nice to escape for a few minutes back to Christmas time, looking at pics of the really important people at Christmas -- the KIDS!! Even though we're all kids at Christmas - it looks like you all had a great time! Lisa, Linda and Susan! |

it has been a crazy loooooooooooooooooong day. At least the brownies enjoyed decorating cupcakes for girl scouts birthday week.

Kim - I hate DST too (especially when I get to work and the clock says 5:48 a.m.). I noticed Binxie drooling last night too! Since everything is in bloom in Texas, I figure it may be allergies but that wouldn't/couldn't be the case for Miley. Congrats on losing 9 lbs this past month! That really is very good!
Celeste - those kids are just too cute! I don't think I've ever seen that much snow either. JRod - welcome! Linda - we owe alot in taxes this year too but it's from selling stock before the bottom fell out so I really can't complain too much. How's the job hunt going for your kiddos? BBG - so glad to see you have joined the group! I hope you are feeling better and the docs get to the bottom of your health issues. Bridget - so glad that ya'll had a good time on your cruise. Now share some pictures please. Susan - ditto above. So did you walk last night? I got this bright idea that I wanted to lay bricks/stones around my flowerbeds in the front yard. Had them delivered Friday with plans to lay them on Saturday. But somehow Jim and I ended up laying them Friday night after dark. Saturday morning both of us had a hard time moving as every single muscle was screaming. But the bricks looked good! Sunday all I was planning to do was trim a bush or two and ended up digging up and moving a bunch so yesterday both of us had a hard time moving again (must have used different muscles). Yard is looking good. Jim's mom came for the long weekend and was so weak, she fell Luckily she wasn't hurt. Hard to believe how quickly she is declining. It was good for Jim to see how much work is involved in caring for her. Chelsey got a minature schnauser - Levi Hunter. He wakes her up several times every night. I pointed out that she did the same when she was a baby. I'm down 6 lbs since the beginning of the year with a long way to go. |

Karen! I cannot wait to see pictures!!!!! So sorry about Jim's mom
![]() brownies went well. I know I stress too much about it. Both kids are sick though allen just doesn;t feel well and is coughing but Syd was throwing up all night. Ed has shift 1 and then I guess I get shift 2. Really really bad day to have to take off from work as our IRB is being audited today and I really need to be available to answer questions. |

Hi
Hello, can't even recall if I made it in here last week. Not sure where I am with the weight. I know I hit 134.5 after being down with the flu but also know that I climbed back up to 136.5 yesterday. Shall see.
Work is stressful - nothing new there. My husbands grandmother died Sunday - very grateful we saw her in FL! Assigned my husband to fight the county today on health care issues. ![]() Same ol' same ol'! Patty - good to see you on Facebook! JRodCeleste - those kids are nothing but completely adorable! Kim - hope the kids feel better soon. My little one tossed it at midnight one night last week and was fine from there on out. Hi to everyone else!!!! Renee |

I only took a few pictures (mostly of the water
) and don't even know how to upload them to my computer yet. Ryan was over last night but we went out to dinner and I forgot to ask him to do it for me. Maybe I'll see if Grant knows how later today. I think Mary accidentally deleted some of hers trying to figure out how to use her son's camera. ![]() Bridget, work has been slammed for me, too. BIG meeting on Friday (Friday the 13th! ) that I will be so glad to have behind me.Kim, I think nine pounds in a month is great!!! I know you want it to come off faster but that's really good. I have no idea why Miley would be drooling but GROSS!!! Sorry the kids aren't feeling well. Can you call in from home and be part of the meeting via speaker-phone?Karen, me tooooo! I forgot to reset my clock again and went to bed late again so I had deja vu all over again this morning. And poor Grant has had a bit of a cold and sore throat for several days and isn't sleeping well, either; I heard him knocking around upstairs at 5:30, which is unheard of for him!Renee, so sorry to hear about your DH's grandmother. What a blessing that you were able to see her before. |

Susan, no, it wasn't me. It might have been Drew. Sorry!
Karen, thanks. I have another doc appt next Monday to discuss Mirena. I'm not sure what I think about that option yet. I haven't fully researched everything yet. I just want it to stop. I'm sorry about Jim's mom. It's hard to care for aging parents. ![]() Kim, I'll tell you like Tim tells me - losing 9 pounds is better than losing only 8, right? ![]() Hi Bridget and Renee |

Again....thanks to the rest of you... ( Kaelnp, Winterstale, Rhundt67 ) for the warm
welcome......!! I think my mind is beginning to change to the correct time... I just dont like it still dark at 7 am..... haha... ( Noooo.. I am not afraid of the dark ) just I like to see the sun shining up on my drive to work after the gym... Well I have dabbled with Flax bread buns and mini flax muffins..... has anyone used or heard of the Joseph's Lavash Bread ?? the only place I have seen it locally sold here in Houston is at the Deli area in Wal-Mart ( by the Hawiian bread ) I seen it here on Netrition.com ( Joseph's Middle East Bakery Lavash Bread ) Now this is reaalllllly good... Low carb high fiber perfect for wraps or anything really. 1 big piece has 100 cal and 4 net carbs....All fiber no sugar. now...... here is my delima.... I use 1/2 of these each day for lunch recently that going straight meat and cheese wraps... I now use a lil mayo and the 1/2 wrap.. So 50 cals and 2 net carbs..... it is made of flax, oat bran and whole wheat. My days of makin flax muffins or buns are over !! haha..... Just passing on some info in case no one has heard of them... now....my down fall ( cuz of the sodium ) is the 2 hand fulls of plain pork rinds I eat along to get "my crunch" factor w/ the wrap...... I THINK......though this new routine has slowed my losing..... I have been staying at the 25-26 lb loss mark ( in 50 days ( since Jan 18th ) for about 8 days.... but the logic is 2 net carbs and the 1 for the cheese slice and the 1 for the meat I am at 4 for lunch.... dinner is meat and salad.... breakfast is 2 boiled eggs and snack is a atkins choc protein shake.. soooo why my stall.......!! Hmmmmmm I suppose I shouldnt put this last part on this thread..... I should put it on my journal.....hmmmm just venting....sorry Ya'll.............. |

Hi
JRod - good luck with it all, many of us have been on these boards for years and in this particular group, a couple of years for me, but overall it's "Let's Lose 5" - if we're lucky.
I've gained and lost the whole time in here. Currently heading downward but it's been many months of no certain plan but aiming to lose another 10 - 15 by July 25th! Renee |

Well, it would appear that we were WAAAAY too busy having fun on the cruise to take pictures!
I think I counted about six total on my camera -- I will see if any of them are fit to put on the computer Lisa -- Hope you get to the bottom of everything! ![]() Kim - hope the kids feel better soon - doesn't it always happen that way? It's always the wrong time for that sort of thing! JRod - I will have to look for that stuff! I like to make wraps but they are definitely NOT low-carb friendly for the most part! I am trying to get over the fact that your handle rhymes with ARod Susan - I will email the pics to you first unless they are just of the Flying Dutchman -- I think I have two of those -- and I have one of Serenity Bay that's quite pretty as well - I could go for being in a lounger there right about now!Renee -- Trying to get down below 135 myself...I am DETERMINED that 2009 is the year I get under 130 again! Even if it's just for a day! ![]()

So...its Not Gain 5 then Renee?? Hmmmmm.. Oh....I get it...haha..
well thanks for the encouragement.. I know stalls happen... and this is my 2nd time on Low Carb WOE.... ( first time was 2000....in 18 mo lost 160 lbs ( from 360 to 200) I had to work out 6 days a week and hard and eat perfect to keep 200 ( at 6'2" ) but.... if I maintained and worked out 5 days... my body stayed 220 ...perfect for my structure and size.... for 5 yrs I did that... but.......well.....biking accident.... back surgeries... physical therapy.... it was a 2 yr recovery with weight gain... depression...and EATING BADLY. 2 more yrs of that cycle....got me almost right back there..... So now it is harder...and it is a LIFELONG journey I know...Lesson learned. haha...and for you other 2....( Lisa ( Big Braves Girl ) and Winterstale..) hmmmmm... My screen name ( and nick name ) JRod does rhyme with ARod.. Thank you for bringing that to my Attention...... haha.... My name is Jarrod..... ( No...not the Subway sandwhich Jared ) but.... friends and some co-workers call me J-Rod... dont know why.... we are in a Non-Yankee friendly area.. ( This is Astros territory there Braves Girl...! ) Well as the saying goes... you can call me anything...as long as you dont call "me late for dinner.!" haha.. |

Prayers, please. My mother is going in for double knee replacement tomorrow. She's already had ankle surgery on both of her ankles (one of them twice, just a few months ago). She will be in the hospital for four days then in a rehab facility (small town...the rehab "facility" is down the hall from her hospital room
) for a week. I can't go visit her tomorrow (or until Saturday) because I have meetings the lead up to the one on Friday. I just talked to my dad and he said get over it because she won't even know if I'm there or not (but I'll know). My middle sister will be there (other sister has class). I feel bad for not being there but I guess my dad is right. They can call me if they need me and if it's an emergency I can hightail it up there. Then my dad launched into his own knee ordeal; he thought he needed double knee replacement, too, and when he went to the doc (same guy as my mom's) the guy said "suck it up, buddy, you just have arthritis and since you have glaucoma you can't take the meds so you'll just have to quit yer whining and deal with it". This is what I have to look forward to. I won't even go into the things I've already inherited from them. ![]() Bridget, oh yes, please, send me the pics first, ROFL! The only ones I have are us at Chili's in Orlando (with Margaritas front and center ), us at Signals and I look even fatter than I THOUGHT I did in that all-white outfit (note to self: stick with black), some "at sea, pulling into Nassau" pics, also two of the Flying Dutchman, more of Serenity Cay than anything (probably six) and one each of Mickey and Minnie in the gift shop area (those area actually my favorites! ). You know, JRod, I have no idea! I swear sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to why I lose or gain. I can eat exactly the same thing and one time lose two pounds and the next time gain a pound. All I can tell you is to listen to your body, tweak if you think something isn't working for you (like try a day without the bread then add back one piece instaed of two, etc.) and see what happens. Oh, and congratulations on the loss! You really are doing great. ![]() |

Oh, your poor mom, Susana ... that sounds like a tough road. Sorry to hear about Jim's mom, Karen. And your DH's grandmother, Renee. 6 pounds sounds good! 9 pounds sounds good! Any pounds sounds good! Good luck with your dr appt, Lisa. Waiting on those pix, WT!
Welcome, JRod.We actually did play golf this afternoon. My group ended up one under par ... thanks to my brilliant birdie putt on #17. No we have dinner together in the lounge at the lodge. Small group today. Maybe I'll go for the chicken wings tonight ... yum! |

Wow Susan- Charlie's Dr would not even talk about doing both knees at once, but I wish he had! Just make sure they don't send her home too soon. Charlie was in rehab for 2 whole weeks, and was working HARD, and that was with just one knee. She is lucky that she will only have to go thru it once though...we are still facing doing it again, but not signing up for it any time soon.
Hi to everyone else. Nothing new here. Did my first Yale interview on my own- good to know I can successfully read questions off a sheet |

Susana - prayers going up for your mom. I've heard that is a really tough surgery to go through and recover from but in the end she'll be so much better off. I know it must be hard not to be there for her surgery but she will need you more later on. I had to laugh at your dad's doc's comments.
Linda - I'm not sure what a birdie is but congrats for getting one. Kim - do you need a used flag for the Boy Scout's? After almost 7 years of living in this house, I realized there is a flag holder on my front porch that I can use instead of the one that's out in the open. Hope the kiddos are doing better today and you don't catch what they had. Nice of Ed to step up to the plate. Celeste - glad you made it through your first solo interview. There definitely are sad situations out there which remind me how lucky I really am. Your planned one-on-one time with Ellie will be fun. I've apparently turned Kaitlyn (5) into a shoe lover! JRod - hope the scale was nice to you today. Rene - I can't believe you are the mother of an almost 14 year old. WT - having too good of a time to take pictures sounds like a really good excuse. Please tell Mary to come back and join us. BBG - your cake post yesterday made me drool! I bet you are a wonderful cook. Has Tim found a job? Last night was bunco and I ate like a pig. The homemade yeast rolls with homemade lasagna with homemade apple pie just did me in. I got home at 10:00 and jumped on the gazelle for thirty minutes (trying to work off the carb high I was on and maybe reduce the damage). It didn't work. I was awake until the wee hours of the morning and the scale punished me badly this morning. Today is another day. |
