![]() ![]() No, Teri, you are are not being overly sensitive. It would have been much kinder to explain to you that they were going and that they realize you probably can't go right now, but if there is anyway you can work it out, they really want you to come. However, given everything you're going through, they took the easy way and just didn't say anything. It would havehurt my feelings too to overhear their trip planning. Sorry, you had a crappy birthday---you are not being selfish. Of course, you are glad to be with Taylor, but you need some "me" time too.![]() Teri that you entered the weight-loss contest and you're back on LC. I've been lazy this week, not really cheating, but not serious either. So, I'm ready to get down to business with ya, sister! Cindy, I hope things work out for DS3 and GF getting married, and that she's got a good living arrangement with her brother. However, it sure sounded like living in your home would have been good for she and her little girl. Do you think they'll set a date soon? Thanks for the advice on the fat---I'll do that. Sorry, that your sis and bro didn't even ask if you could go on the trip. Why do people just assume you can't do something---who knows, maybe you could have worked it out, but even if you couldn't, it would have meant a lot to be asked. As for your job application, maybe you should make a call to let them know you are still interested. It could be that they haven't even started interviews yet, but I don't think one call could hurt. All is good with me. DH and I are headed to the lake tomorrow to spend the night with my uncle. My aunt is on a cruise with her GD and friend, so he's up there alone. And yes, I was invited on the cruise, but it's a 2 week cruise, and expensive, so it was not an option for me, but still, they asked, so I totally get what you ladies are saying. Oops, it's time to get ready for work! Better run. Love you both! |

Cindy!! Sooo great to hear from you! So sorry to hear your dealing with siblings too. It just sucks. I'm to the point now that as long as I don't have to hear more about their little vacation, I'll live. Sounds like the kids are doing well and that's great to hear. Congrats on your free week.
Is DH going to be traveling a lot with this job? As far as your job goes, I hope you're not too disappointed if they don't call... you're such a busy lady already, I can't imagine having an outside job on top of it all. Hopefully you'll have a wedding to plan before long! :clapPattirene... where did you go? You'd better not be hiding in a corner munching on some carby somethin' or other! Isn't about time for some more house pics? I bet you've got it all decorated they way you want by now... I'd LOVE to see. Well, DHS will be here in an hr... gotta go get ready for them. HOPEFULLY next tues night will be last parenting class and last meeting with the worker that's coming today. We are getting close to being official foster parents. We do have a "family" (ha) mediation with Taylors mom next monday. I'd rather be tied naked in the town square!!, but guess I'll get through it. I just hope DH doesn't strangle her! Oh wait... ![]() When all this DHS stuff gets over with, I'd LOVE to schedule a chat night. It's been too long... Love you guys!! ![]()

Thanks for the wedding hopes, girls! I took Miss J to visit preschool for the morning yesterday - boy I forgot how tiring it is! She ended up taking a nice looooooong nap, and I wished I could have done it too, but ran around in the afternoon with my mom.
A chat night would be heaven Teri! BUT text me when you are free for one, cuz I will get to see it faster and be able to get there. I am really not on the puter a lot these days. Will keep on praying for you with all the DHS crap hanging over you. Patti, you and DH have a wonderful time with your uncle! Son#2 is looking at putting an offer on a house by a lake a few minutes north of here - he's been wanting to buy a home for a long time. It's an older, smaller home, and not right ON the lake, but he has access. And it's in his price range. Ok, off and running for the day! LOVE YOU!!! ![]()

I got some good news - son#2 did indeed put an offer in on the house we looked at with him! Other than that, it's been a pretty blah day here. Been doing some reading, and stitching. I hope your Mother's Day's were better than mine..... It was not great, to say the least.
I think DH didn't even realize what the day was - but he finally got up before I did and made breakfast. Then the kids argued before we even left for church. It took about 6 people at church wishing me 'Happy Mother's Day' before he put his hand on my shoulder and wished me one. At that point I was beginning to feel like 'So what? Big fat hairy deal!' So, got home, he disappeared to his barn, but took DD up to church where he stayed. DS9 just brought me the fry-pan and handed it to me..... ![]() ![]() ![]() BAD MOVE - I just totally LOST IT and EXPLODED all over him. My brain totally disengaged and I was insane....... son #4 had to finish fixing food cuz I told him that I was so mad I might hurt someone or myself. Put myself in time-out in my room for about an hour, cried on the phone to one of my BFF's. Let myself out and apologized to the boy, told him it was not all his fault - he was just the unlucky one to get it all cuz he was handy. Son #5 waltzed in with DH and DD about 8:30 coming home from church, and said he wanted to 'borrow the car to go get something for me since it is Mother's Day and all' ![]() I just told him 'Don't bother!! I give up! As far as I am concerned the day is CANCELLED!!!' And you know what? I meant it and I still do. So he brought me a card and some flowers, and wrote in the card that it 'had been bugging him all day'. Come to find out that it was my brother and his co-workers that had been bugging him all day about it. And that was not a surprise to me at all - sadly. Next year I will just have it be a business as usual day. I am sick and tired of having any expectations and hopes for anything concerning that day. DH is off on his work trip - and when he gets home we are gonna have a family sit-down and I am going to try and explain all this to all of them. I am getting to where I can be a tad more calm about it, but I haven't gotten to where I can laugh about it. Don't know if I ever will. Part of me wants to take revenge and cancel Father's Day as well.......still thinking about that. Thanks for listening to me spill my guts.....I love you! PS- the week so far has been MUCH better - just business as usual, and that's OK! ![]() |

I'm sorry I haven't been posting.
![]() Mother's day is tough for me, actually it sends me into a blue funk. Not only am I not a mother, but my mother is now deceased, and she passed away May 20th, five years ago. I get so tired of people at work saying "happy mother's day" to me. Since my mom passed, I always work, so others can be off. So the sweetest thing....a guy who did a lot of work on our house, called on mother's day to tell DH to wish me a happy mother's day. We have become friends with he and his wife and they are a nice young couple. Love them both! DH said "I'm not telling her because Mother's Day really upsets her." DH was right, it does upset me, but I still thought it was sweet. DH never told me about this, our friend did, and he thanked me for always feeding them when they were working here and for being in their corner. Silly, I know, but it meant a lot. Work is stressfull, lots of projects right now that involve traveling, but I'm hanging in there. I love you both. ![]() |

Oh my dear dear sisters.... so sorry to hear about such rotten mothers days for you both. I at least got cards and flowers from two sons, and a phone call from the other. Not too shabby. Wish you both had better mothers days.
![]() It's been really busy here. Finished parenting classes and attended dhs hearing. Got to see ds1 at one hearing. Only got to see him from a distance. I sat and waited for his hearing for an hour and a half, and figured since dh was waiting for me in the truck, I should call it a day and leave. At least I got to say I love you to ds1, even if he could only read my lips. At least it was something. The other bunch is on their cruise, so it's quiet at work. Yeah! Still pouting over the whole deal. Oh well, I'll get over it. LC is going great. Still having some moments where I just grab the nearest food and eat, but it's getting better. Someone else stuck with it for about a day, and now he's eating whatever. I told him I'm done trying to keep him on track. Not cooking for him anymore... he's on his own! Off to bed. You ladies don't work too hard... and please don't let things get you down. Love you both! |

Pattirene, I forgot how MD makes you sad - I'm sorry.
keep hanging in there! I really hope you get some enjoyment from work, even though it's stressful. Teri - so sad you didn't actually get to see DS1. Praying that all will go well for him! And YAY YAY that the parenting classes are over - now when are they gonna leave you alone? ever? LOL probably not....... Another fairly peaceful-business-as-usual week here. DH got to come home from Indiana early, cuz he didn't have to do the second planned part of his trip - the machines in Mississippi were taking too long to get installed. So now he and the kids are off on our church's yearly 'family camp' weekend. I opted to stay home for a quiet, relaxing weekend this year. Got my books, got my cross-stitching - I'll be a happy camper right in my own living room! They will be home Sunday afternoon, and I don't have to put up with all the food crap. It's an enjoyable weekend, but it really ruins it for me when I have to be the food police. Because of course - no one else even believes in low-carb, and the food reflects that. Update on DD - had an MRI to check her pituitary gland - it's within 'normal', another bone scan X-ray that shows her bone age is still about 12 (she's almost 15), today she had an ultrasound of her thyroid gland, and the doc has prescribed thyroid meds for her to start. I think the doc is hoping that supporting her thyroid will let her body do what it needs to with the growth hormone that she does have. So we have another appt in Sept, with more thyroid labs scheduled for when she's been taking it for 6 weeks. One thing I think is - the thyroid meds the doc prescribed are WAY too low - she's got the smallest dose possible. BUT I did insist on natural Armour for her, and the doc didn't argue *too* much. But what do I know - I am not a doc, right?? ![]() Back to stitching! Love you!! ![]() Last edited by Momlady; 05-25-2012 at 02:39 PM.. |

MD sends me into a blue funk. It's terrible and I can't control it. It's not just the MD crap, but the fact that my mom died on 5/20. It is a rough time for me, and you would think that it would get easier each year, but it doesn't. No kids, my mom's gone, my grandmas' are gone.....hate, hate, hate this time of year.Sending and to Llora.I love you both. |

Well....they're home! Pardon me if I am not jumping up and down for joy...... they had a good time (I guess - nobody has said anything), and I had a quiet weekend, I just wish it could be longer.
Finished one book, started another; finished a cross stitch pic and started the next. Didn't talk to a lot of people, didn't hear any complaints about food - so it was a good weekend for me. So now it's me on the 'puter, kids on the video games (poor deprived people) and DH snoozing on the couch. Life as usual! Hope you ladies have a great holiday! As far as I know, we aren't planning anything - at least we haven't made any decisions to get together with anyone. It looks like it is gonna be hot tomorrow, so I'll probably take them to my moms for swimming. Love you! ![]() |

Well, it's been a not too busy week - what have you ladies been up to? School is almost out here, they have to finish this week and then 3 1/2 days next week. The countdown is on my fridge door.....and crossed off everyday!
![]() DH is taking vacation the week of the 17th, and is wanting to go north to the 40 acres in the RV. I am sure he is gonna want all of us to come play in the woods with him, so....... maybe. 40 acres full of nothing but trees and mosquitoes - not really my thing. But we'll see..... ![]() My cousin from Alabama is coming up here this weekend for a visit. I haven't seen her for, OMG, at least 30 years. The last time I saw her, Son#1 (now 34) was about 3 years old and into rhyming words. He would rhyme her name and boy did it aggravate her! I'm thinking she's matured a bit since then, as he has! It will be good to see her. No news on the Son#3/GF front - although he's spending more time living at her place than here lately. I need to ask if she still wants MissJ in preschool, I know she's been conflicted over that. And if not, that needs to be taken care of cuz there would be holes to fill. So ladies - come on - fill me in! Love you! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hello lovely ladies!! My goodness how time flies!
Cindy.. I want you to know I haven't even had time to check out the youtube video links you sent.... but I WILL... I promise! Sounds like you both are as busy as ever. So glad you got a few days to yourself Cindy... everyone should get some "me" time. I know I'd give lots to have one whole day without ANYONE bothering me. Since Ms.T moved in, the only time I get without her is when she doesn't go to work with me. Oh well... it's worth it. I hate to even make this statement, but things have been fairly drama free lately. Guess I can expect something to hit now. lol I've been doing good on lc. I fell off the wagon over mothers day, but I'm back on track again. Of course I'm the ONLY one in the house that is Right now ds and both dbs are doing lc, so I don't feel all alone. lol My brother in FL is trying to do lc, but I'm not sure how well he understands it. Talked to him tonight and he was trying to make zero carb bread. He said he has a hard time finding lc stuff down there, which suprised me. Told him I'd mail him some lc bread from here if he wanted me to. My hat is off to him for trying. The company he has worked for, for forever got bought out and the new owners closed the doors. Now he's down there in FL with no job and no family. It really hit home to me how families end up living in their cars. He owns a house (he and the bank) and it may not be worth more than what he owes on it, due to the economy. His unemployment doesn't even come near what he made, and he can't even make his house payments on it. I hate to see him use up his retirement while he searches for a job. I'm trying to get him to come back to OK while he searches for a job. So far all I get is "I can't afford it".... he's such a man. Pattirene... are you ever going to post some more pics of your new home? I'd love to see it all decorated! Cindy... take a camera to the woods with you. You'll find all kinds of things to take pics of! I miss you ladies, but please know you're on my mind! ![]() Take care! ![]() |

Hi Girls, sorry I haven't posted in a while---no excuse. Teri, it was wonderful to hear from you via text Fri. I finally gave in on the texting thing.
Cindy, how exciting that you are going to have a visit with a cousin you haven't seen in 30 years! Hope you have fun. Teri, I'm so glad that things have been fairly drama-free and that you're doing lc! ![]() All is well with me. Here's the highpoints:

Good to see you both are still hanging in!
Teri - I just knew that DH would not stick to it, even for the potential reward. But YOU just keep on and get it done! Patti- are you enjoying the night shift? It does seem that it would make it a bit easier to help DH on the farm this way. Gratitude journals are a good thing aren't they? It is really good to be able to focus on those blessings instead of the pains. And sometimes if the only blessing of the day is that you WOKE UP BREATHING - that's still a blessing and worthy of thanks and praise. ![]() Good news here on DS2 - his home-buying adventure is going well! He made an offer - they counter offered, he accepted. His mortgage is conditionally approved, pending flood insurance certificate, and his potential closing date of June 30 is still on track. He HAS, however, had to deal with DS1 throwing MAJOR hissy fits and being an a$$wipe over stuff. But we all expected this behavior from him, unfortunately. So he moved all his stuff into the barn, and is camping in the RV for a couple weeks. DS2 spent the last two weeks making sure to NOT be there when DS1 was, and getting his stuff out when the house was unoccupied. DH and I have been making sure we stay OUT of the drama between them, and DS2 is understanding of that. DS3 has moved out and into GF's house, things are going quite well over there apparently. Which means that DS4 can take over the basement (again), and we can gut and re-hab the upstairs room for DS9 (almost 10!) DS4 is *almost* hired at Meijer - he's been working his way through the hiring process and he's almost there. And he swears he's going to save his money and get a place with his best bud, since the two of them can actually stand each other for more than two days. DD is officially moving on to high school, and is doing well. Her thyroid ultrasound came back fine, it's just enlarged but there are no other issues with it physically. So we wait till Sept and see what the next visit shows... DH's vacation has had to be postponed, they asked him to do some short trips and so he'll do his trip later in July, which is all good for DS1/DS2 reasons. And Teri, ALL that's up there on those properties IS trees...and I can live without tree pics... I've had an enjoyable time so far with my cousin. She's quite lonely for family, as her family in Alabama is quite fractured. Her parents have both passed on, as has her brother, and her sister has told her to her face that "I have no sister". This girl has always thought nothing she had was ever good enough and has spent her life leaving it all behind to climb the social status ladder. What a pity. So that's all the news from the not-so-frozen north...... Stay strong and on track sisters! Love you bunches!!! ![]() |

Hello ladies!
I swear it seems like I post more often than I do, but just now I looked at the date on Cindy's post and it was 5 days ago!! Where does time go? Cindy, glad to hear DD's thyroid ultrasound was fine. Hope the news continues to be good. Can't believe she's starting HS! Sure sounds like you have a full time job trying to keep peace and order among the masses. Glad it's you and not me.... one little tiny girl is enough for me. So does DS3 moving in with GF mean that you're officially grandma? Pattirene... I've been wondering about your work schedule. I realized after texting the other day that some people don't like getting texts at work! Sorry if that was a nono. Do you like the new hours? I need to ask you advice on how to get the best deals on airline tickets. I'm going to try to fly DB home and I have questions! lol Got all excited when I got a notice on fb that southwest was having a $99 sale, but after clicking on the link, found out it's not until fall and there's a bunch of other rules. Oh well. Do you get better deals booking one way or round trip? It would be kind of fun to have him stay for awhile, but if round trip is cheaper, I could look into that. Maybe just a booking flights 101 would be a great place to start IF you have the time. lol I'd be glad to teach you how to AI cows in exchange for your wisdom. I've been doing really well with my eating until today and I caved and had some fresh corn on the cob and some pasta and chicken. I promise to get back with it and not be naughty too long. Tomorrow might be tough with it being fathers day... but I promise by monday I'll be back on track! BTW... hope you had a great birthday today Cindy! Was great to hear your kids all remembered. That's at least a good start! Looking forward to hearing the details! Love you both! ![]() |

Details...details.....let's see.....
All of the kids were gone, either to work or a friends house, and DH was in Kentucky, so the day started very quietly! Great minds think alike! The other boys either texted or called to wish me a good one. Spent the bulk of the day enjoying the quiet - cross stitching and reading. Sis1 came and picked me up and took me to a lovely seafood dinner. Love crab legs - but got to thinking they are too much work....The menu trumpets how you're getting 1 1/4 pound, but of course, 3/4 of that weight is actually shell..... But it was good! DH called later in the evening, he worked till 11 that night, so he managed to take a few minutes and call. Son#5 took me out for dinner Monday night, and took me to a rather posh steakhouse downtown. so I got a very yummy gorgeous steak and a glass of wine, and really enjoyed that, and he felt so proud to be able to do that. DH got to come home last night, and tonight we are having family dinner at Son#1's restaurant. My cousin is leaving Sat, and we want to take her there to see where he works. It's gotta happen tonight since DH is leaving again tomorrow to do another trip. This time it's just 2 hours away north of Detroit - so not too far. And he'll be back Fri. So far summer vacation has been great! Love you! ![]() |

Wow Cindy... sounds like you had a really nice birthday. The only thing better than a big fuss is ALOT of quiet!
A day of me time sounds like heaven to me right now. Steak and crab legs... YUM. We are out of steak and boy oh boy do I miss it. I checked the price on steak at the store and about fell over! Over $10/lb. I gotta really be hard up for steak to pay that. My cows better be scared... one never knows when I won't be able to stand it anymore and will need to send one to butcher shop. lol Right now I have LOTS of hamburger to clean up before I can even think about butchering again. And I agree with you Cindy... crab legs are a lot of work for the amount of meat you get from them... but oh how good it is! I LOVE lobster too. If I lived close to the coast, I'd probably put out lobster traps so I could afford to eat it more often!I've been doing good on lc again. It gets hard some days. Just seems like I don't have much time to scrounge up something lc. (or maybe that's my excuse for wanting to cheat) It just seems like it would be so easy to grab a cookie or twelve. There are fresh veggies a plenty right now, so I eat some of those and go on. I haven't weighed, so I don't know if my efforts are being rewarded or not. I noticed Beth is doing very well on her weightloss. I need to message her and find out how well she is doing. How she can bake those tasty looking cakes and cookies and lose weight I'll never know. Still waiting to hear from you Miss Pattirene! Hope you're not working too hard! Talk to you soon. Love you! |

Well, DS is 10 today.....into the double digits we go!
![]() We are all still doing real well here, made it through the 100+ weather this week. Made me think of how much more miserable you ladies must be south of me. DH not only had to deal with the 100+ outside, but the trip (back again to north of Detroit) he's on, and the factory where they are working on machines that are spitting out and molding hot plastic..... I am glad Teri, that you are grabbing those veggies instead of cookies! And I can't imagine either how Beth does it! But she sure make beautiful cakes, doesn't she? And another grandbaby....which was wonderful news. My summer just got busier - my mom has decided she wants to get back to exercising 3 times a week. AND.....since she is still not driving, I get to do it. Yay me....... Truly, I don't mind, since I can run an errand or two, or sit and read/stitch while shes doing her thing with her buddies. I really think she probably missed the socializing more than the workout. It's probably a good thing that Costco (officially open as of yesterday) didn't hire me! So, other than driving around the world, I haven't been doing too much.... ![]() Son#4 has been officially hired at Meijer - finally! Something (to do with the system) kept messing up at the store getting his background check results. But it finally came through and he was hired and has started training. Not that there is too much - he's doing overnight restocking. But he's happy (I'm THRILLED) that he's got a job again. Now he can work on getting his car running and insured. Son#1 was laid off for the summer from the cab company, but he's getting it figured out, and has moved his GF's mom into his house, which fills the hole left by son#2. And son#2's house buying adventure is still clicking along, getting all the t's crossed and i's dotted..... Hopefully soon he can get a final approval and set a real closing date. DD has been taking her thyroid med for a month now, and she swears she's growing..... I can't say cuz I haven't measured her at all. It's almost time for her physical, I will see for sure then. Gotta get running now - see y'all later! Love you!! ![]() |

Well ladies - it's been a while since you checked in!
What have you been up to? C'mon - I miss you!! It's Vacation Bible Camp this week at church for us - keep us all in your prayers! Over 100 kids, 70+ volunteers, LOTS of fun! We are all grateful that the weather is cooperating this week - 80's instead of 100 degrees! ![]() |

Come on girls - am I talking to myself here? I sure hope not!
Well VBC has come and gone for another year, and I will miss it, but I am tired as all get out. We had 115 kids this year with 70 volunteers, more or less. It is so wonderful to hear all the fun they have learning all they do. It was so sweet today, when I asked them how they felt about today being Friday and the last day of the week - the unanimous answer (quite loudly) was "SAD!!!" We always have a great group of kids show up. News from the world of medicine...... SHE"S GROWING!!! She had me measure her at my moms, on her Dr type scale - and she has gotten to 5ft 1 1/4in! Wait - that means she will need new clothes..... I still think she needs a higher dose of thyroid, but will hopefully talk to her dr when the results of her blood level test comes in. We just did that yesterday. Right now she's taking 15mg of Armour, I would like her to have 30. Not only cuz I think it would help, but because it's damn near impossible to cut those 30mg pills in half! I was told when getting her refill that they weren't making the 15mg size anymore...... So - she's going on mission trip up north with her youth group for a week, leaving tomorrow. I told her that for the week she should just take a whole pill every day since I don't think anyone would be too happy with me sending a razor blade for cutting her pills in half. I have extras left from earlier prescriptions that I filled so I just added some to her bottle, and blocked out the 1/2 amount from the label. Shhhhhh don't tell anyone...... And now I am off to bed before i fall asleep on the computer..... Love you! ![]() |

WOW... that's great news Cindy!!! I bet she's one happy camper! Good to hear you found a dr. that will prescribe armour. When I suggested it to my dr. I got a little speech about...yadda yadda yadda.. I just told her I'd been there and done that and Armour worked better for me. Guess she'll have to be convinced when the stuff she has me one doesn't get the job done.
Glad to hear you made it through Bible School! I was so looking forward to taking Taylor to Bible School, only to find out they weren't having it this year.... typical! Thought I had another church lined out and found out they had to be 6 yo to attend. Oh well. Guess I can thank God that there are workers in other places that take the souls of our tiniest people seriously. Taylor turns 4 Aug 15th... just doesn't seem possible. She'll be starting pre-k a few days after that! I never thought I'd have to deal with the getting ready for school nightmare again, but here I am. And now I'm so out of touch with what is "cool" I'm scared to death of sending her to school in stuff the other kids will make fun of. lol Poor Taylor. My eating went haywire again.... pretty sure I know the major contributing factor, although it's a lousy excuse to blame someone else. Life just sucks right now and it's easier to feel sorry for myself and comfort (kill) myself with crappy food than to get over it and do what I know is right. I bet you guys get tired of hearing "I'm doing good!" oops, nope... "I'm doing bad!" Guess if I didn't believe I'll get it right someday, I'd quit coming here. That's really not true... I come here to talk to my sisters... not to get diet support, but please don't tell the administration!! SHhhhhhh I know I don't get on here and post often, but I check for messages from you and I think about you all the time. I should text once in awhile too, but I keep thinking, oh it's not a good time... they'll be busy... but I will keep trying. (I still post more often than the one who will remain nameless) YES YOU PATTIRENE!You ladies take care and stay safe! Talk to you soon. ![]() |

Thanks Teri, I am glad you popped in. It is hard when life sucks and blows big chunks, like it seems to do quite often. Even if you just say hi, I'm here and still alive - that would be good. Same for you Pattirene!
Right now life is kinda bumming me out...DS1 was here tonight for a good while, was in a pretty good mood, actually being helpful.... DS2 comes in and DS1 blows all to hell - starts ranting and raving about #2 returning all the 'stuff he stole' when he moved out! Threatening him over the phone to physically take it out on him, or mess up his car..... I am trying to not get in the middle of it all but it's HARD. Especially when the 'stuff' that's being referred to is crap like a can opener, or a plastic water pitcher, or a broken hard drive that wasn't even his to begin with. And DS1 is infuriated that he's being asked to make a list of all the stuff - he thinks that DS2 should know what it is he needs to return. What really burns me is that DS1 was ranting and raving like this with 3 sets of ears 10 and under listening! And all the cars seem to be breaking down all at once, falling like dominoes. DH has been up north, with the RV and the small car, and DS2's car broke (timing belt), sis2's car is broke (AC stuff), he's got a car in the barn he's been working on for a while, the bigger car is losing tail pipes, AND he has to leave the RV up north cuz he can't get it out through the mudpits from the rain. AND he broke the little car getting it out through the mudpits. So he's gonna fix that first so he can get home to fix everything else. At least its not broke too bad, but he does have his friend with the towtruck on standby for his drive home tomorrow. I am praying and keeping my fingers crossed! Told DS4 to drive the big car VERY GENTLY to work and back - we don't need that one breaking as well. I really don't want to lose that as well. It needs the AC fixed too, but the engine is doing pretty good. So sis1 is gonna pick me up in the mornings for a few days so I can use her car to drive my mom and sis2 around this week.....if I haven't gone totally insane, that is! OK pity/rant is done! Putting it in the past! So Miss T will be 4!!! How cool! Sloane has got to be getting big too! Time passes so much faster the older I get..... Don't know if that's a good thing or not. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I don't think you should worry overmuch about her clothes for school - I feel certain she will tell you what she wants given half a breath, right? So, wine is finished now, and I'm heading for bed. Love you! ![]() ![]() |

So...the little car is toast - a ford e*scort sport, 2 doors, 5 speeds - got DH within 4 miles of home before it overheated and he stopped and got off the expressway. Had it towed the last bit. It was fun while it lasted!
DS#2's car - exactly the same as above- is fixed and ready to go. Sis2's car is in the barn and waiting for some AC attention, and a few other minor things. AND....I get to drive a new-to-me minivan that we bought from the son of a good friend of mine. It's in really good shape, and I am quite happy now! I have missed having the space. And the AC works...... I am heading to Chicago on the bus for the weekend - to meet up with some friends who eat the way I do. There is a gathering there every year about now, and I was able to go 2 years ago - I am excited to be able to go again and see them again. Not gonna mention names so I don't get in trouble again........ I am planning to go to what used to be the Sears Tower and visit the sky deck, I hear they installed a clear platform you can stand on and look straight down... It's good I am not afraid of heights. Other than that I will just be walking around and window shopping! DH is now scrambling for weekend oversight for the kids - he was asked to work sat/sun in Toledo. That's only an hour away so he will not be totally gone, but at this point the kids are going to my moms for the night sat. But I am doing my best to not step in and fix it - cuz I will be gone and can't do anything about it anyway. So, Pattirene! What have you been doing and where have you been??? You know, I don't care if you have been eating off-plan (although I would prefer you stay on!), but I miss hearing from you! It makes me sad and worried when you don't at least stop and say hi.... Please stop in soon! Off to bed - Love you! ![]() ![]() |

Had a good weekend in Chicago! Renewed acquaintance with friends, got to know a new one, ate lots of meat, saw some sights! Walked my legs off, and my feet were a tiny bit swollen by the time I got home - but I had fun! DH had to stay home, with a cub scout thing for DS10, and he also had to go to work!
He's still running back and forth to Toledo this week, but it's only an hour away so he doesn't qualify for an overnight hotel. He's OK with that, he's doing all this running in a company van. And it lets him stop at the shop for stuff they forgot. I have discovered SHELLAC manicures! O.M.G. is it ever the best! My own nails are quite thin and prone to flake and break, but this stuff keeps them strong and it lasts for weeks. I just had one done that stayed for 3 weeks! I am calling it my nail armor.... so I got another today, and picked a dark vibrant pink that keeps catching my eye - it's not a color that I am used to - but it is really pretty! The lady who does it for me is really nice too. This is one thing that I plan to splurge on for a LONG time. I love having nails that stay log - it took forever for me to quit biting them to the quick. And I spent most of my life being jealous of sis1 with her easy, long hard nails...That's all the news for now! Love you! ![]() |

to me.....34 years ago today I had son#1. It's been a bumpy ride at times.... but he's always my first baby. Kinda bumpy right now as a matter of fact......DS10 is now wanting to stay up all night - cuz its summer and he doesn't NEED the sleep - AS IF!!!! He's pretty pissed that I won't let him do it. I need the sleep, I've had a migraine for two days now. It's a bit better tonight but my head still hurts. I *think* it's from all the decaf coffee I've had this past week - much more than usual. And yes - even decaf will affect me when I drink too much. Later - gonna get to bed and try and sleep the rest of this headache away! Love you! ![]() |

to me again! Son#2 was born 30 years ago today! Dad is taking him to the Maker's Fair at the Henry Ford Museum. It's an outdoor event where folks who invent/make things all get together and show off. I went last year with son#2, and I know that DH will really have a blast. It's right up his alley. It's birthday week, obviously - DD's b'day is this Fri. At least the rest of them are scattered thru the year! Headache is mostly gone, thank goodness. I've been dealing with some heartburn the past few days - don't know why. Not eating anything than my usual meat and water - but every once in a while it gets me. It's not bad, and it's not constant, just irritating. Not even worth taking anything for it. If you ladies are reading these ramblings - would you this week especially add prayers for Son#2? He is very close to closing on the house, but there have been some unexpected hoops he's needed to jump through. The sellers are 'getting tired' of being asked to postpone the closing and they have given him a final 10 days. Even though they have contributed to some of the delays... ... But we think that at this point everything is in place to cross the t's and dot the i's this week - just send up some for him! And of course Son#1 is still riding him about 'some stuff' he 'needs to return'.... Poor guy is just so stressed out right now! Later! ![]() |

for the last time for a couple months - DD is 15 today! Now if only her brain and body would catch up to her chronological age-we'd be good! I swear, sometimes she acts younger than DS10...... Talked with her therapist last week and we agreed that it would be good to have her tested for ADD/ADHD, to rule it OUT if nothing else. I've checked with the insurance company, and now it's a matter of finding a person to do it. So - it's been a GREAT week for news around here! All these lovely b'days, I met with a lawyer and started the process to have Son#1 formally adopted by DH, Son#2 gets to close on the house Monday, Son#3 and GF set a wedding date - Dec 21 2012! ![]() ![]() ![]() Son#4 is happily working pretty much full time at his new job, with small amounts of overtime regularly. #'s 5,6,7 are all doing well too! The biggest bummer is that you two haven't been in here for a while!! ![]() Come on in and lemme know what going on - I MISS YOU!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Dunno if this post will show up or not - but here goes!
Other than missing you ladies, things have been busy as usual here. I have come to the realization that at this point my mom and sis2 are my full time job. I leave in the am and don't generally get home till I pick the kids up from school. More another time! |
