Here in Anderson where most of the GM retires live they decide to go out at 8AM no matter what the weather and OMG, they can not drive even on dry roads! Alittle snow and they freak out, but feel the need to be on the roads!

Joined WW (again) and was doing well until I got sick. Got a case of cellulitis on my face last Friday which took off like gangbusters. Went to Patient's First on Sunday because of the swelling and they gave me an antibiotic which didn't do stop the swelling/spreading. After two days, I went to the ER where they promptly admitted me to stay over night so they could ensure the IV antibiotic was the correct treatment. Everything worked out well and they sent me home after 3 does of IV antibiotics with an oral script to take for ten days. It's clearing up nicely.

Boys are good. Oldest DS is doing well in school, joined the Jr. ROTC program, and has his first girlfriend which has been nothing but drama. He's getting a little promotion today to a higher ROTC rank, no ceremony just new pins.

Little guy is doing well. So big now, he's almost 5ft and he'll be 8 in January. He's not chunky just big/tall/huge. He's gonna out grow us all. He received an Merit Certificate yesterday for getting As and Bs on his report card.

That's about the extent of what is going on around here, just trying to keep up with what life throws at us!
Hope it clears up soon! How do you get cellulitis? I am too lazy to look it up! LOL

The broke the window on the front door, unlocked and came in. They didn't take alot but I was so freaked out we got a new solid front door which cost us $2,000 so all in all it cost us alot. We liVe in a really safe neighbourhood and a cop lives 2 doors from us and even he was surprised because our neighbourhood never has crime. There was a bunch of people on the street doing work on their house and I assume it was one of the workers that broke in.
That is scarey! I mean relly we don't have much in the house good luck getting our TV out, it's an ancient 52" screen TV on wheels! You remember the big boxes before they came out with LCD screens you can hang. We have our own little neighborhood watch but you can't watch the homes every second of every day. Thisd is why when we leave on trips we always have someone stay in our home. Yeah, a security system maybe better but I don't worry when my neighbor stays over! heck I even tell her, eat whatever you want, use the phone, TV whatever! Enjoy!

We won't be having fish. There isn't going to be a pond. The waterfall will cascade over the retaining wall and seemingly disappear into the ground. Actually, it will go into a pit filled with rocks with a recirculating pump at the bottom.

Stormy, no news about the biopsy yet. He said four days, and I think Tuesday was the first day, so no word until tomorrow at the soonest.

Well, the doctor said this morning that the hemodialisis does not look like it's working well enough. He said that we should know for sure by Saturday. He also said that if there is no improvement by Saturday, we should look into moving him out of ICU and onto a Hospice floor. Looks like we will be planning a Thanksgiving week funeral. I can't imagine that he will live long with the Sepsis and lung failure once they remove life support.

We used Hospice when my MIL passed away, and they are wonderful. We brought her home to die, but because my brother is going to be struggling with his breathing, I think a hospital setting will be better for him. His passing should be quick and Hospice will help regulate his pain. I just want him to be able to pass quickly and without fear or suffering.

After seeing him suffer so much in ICU over the past week, I'm OK with letting him go. He has worked at the same job for 30 years, and he is leaving his 21 year old daughter well-set financially. She has been working full-time and trying to put herself through college, so I'm glad to see some good coming from this otherwise sad situation. I'll keep you all posted.

Stormy, I'm so sorry about your brother.

Good news - we have waterfall!!! They don't have the final wiring done, but it's running with the aid of an extension cord. Once they've finished everything and we have a nice day weather-wise, I'll post pics.

popping in after the dinner. It was fun, a bit too long for D though - we left before the "entertainment" because he was starting to hurt too badly. I ate the salad, veggies, chicken and pork. Skipped the potatoes, roll and cake.

Stormy - I'm so sorry about your brother and my heart goes out to you and your family and . The Hospice doesn't have a care center? We have a 12 bed free standing unit and I hear from families all the time how much better it is there than watching their loved ones die in a hospital setting.

off to bed early again ... we have site visitors coming tomorrow so I want to be fresh and rested for that. We get reference points from Cerner for showing people from other agencies how we use the software but it sure takes up most of our day and keeps us from our normal work. We will have a working lunch, so maybe I can sneak out early.

all around

OK, back online with my laptop....first talked to Andy....(in India) and then got turned over to Earl (sounded like an Asian man). He was kind of funny, giggly! My problems ended up being my free zonealarm firewall. I ended up downloading it again to the desktop, uninstalling the one on my laptop and installing the newly downloaded one. We are ok now.

Hi all and good evening.

Today was very busy and I had a dull ache of a headace that I think is almost gone.

I didn't go into work today and focused on the dog shop. Setting up a shop is much harder than I thought. I don't have any one to delegate or boss around.

I have so much office work - Yuk! And I cannot believe tomorrow is Friday. Oh, yeah, there's my headache.

Stormy, I don't know what to say other than I'll pray for you and I'm sorry.

And that picture, my goodness, you haven't changed a bit. Love that hair do.

I noticed that my fish in my tank were all hanging out on one end above a huge carpet anenome. This is not like them. My carpet anenome is about 12" in diameter and is very toxic. So, I got closer and I noticed right above the anenome underneath some rock are baby clown fish eggs. Aww! I am so excited. I sat and watched one clown fish lay the eggs and the other go over and turned upside down and fertilize the eggs. I have no idea what to do now. I think I have about 5 - 8 days to figure out if I have to do anything in order that my other fish do't gobble the babies up.

Today, one of DHMike's workers brought me an ice cream cone. It was a chocolate dipped vanilla cone. Ugg! I licked off all of the chocolate and then went into the bathroom and put the rest in the sink. I don't know why I didn't have the umph to say I can't eat that. So I pretended to eat it.

Bonnie, great job on staying away from the potatoes.

Marie, that's just nerve racking about the lay offs. I sometimes wonder if I am doing the right thing in opening up a store in these times.

Diana - that is so scarey - the break-ins. We have had so much stuff stolen from us on the job site, tools and such that I got an extra policy on our items on the home. I just had the charger stolen off my carr in broad day light and get this...the benches that were around the apartment complex here are missing. No Joke! I figured that people will start to get desperate as the job market dwindles even more.

Rufus is watching T.V.

I'm not sure what the "Hospice floor" of the hospital looks like. I don't think that they really expect him to live long enough to transfer anywhere else, though. He's still on a breathing tube because his lungs are so full of fluids, so I think he will pass quickly once they remove him from that machine.

It's a really nice hospital in New Orleans, so I would think that since they have a dedicated "Hospice floor", it's probably a home-like atmosphere. I hope so, anyway.

Thanks so much for the hugs and prayers.

Thanks so much Susan, Tina, Terry, Marie, and everyone else for the thoughts and prayers. I truly do appreciate the good thoughts.

He's always been my "favorite" brother (I have six). He stood with me when I was going through the guardianship fight for my Grandmother. He's really the only family that I have, so I'm really going to miss him. I know he'll be in a better place, though. Some people are just better at living life than others are. He's never really seemed happy in life, so I pray that he will find peace in death.

Thanks again for your prayers.

Morning!!!

Well the cookie dough monster was screaming my name last night! At one point 9PM I thought I was going to fall prey to it, but talked myself out of it!
Ken is heading home today and should be here around 5 or 6pm. I am alittle upset with him, taking this trip before the Holidays and taking another co-worker so that I got stuck with their work too. All they do is drive to Chicago, Missouri, TN and Georgia and take some customers out to expensive restuarants and that's it! The past few days have been overwhelming, but the VP will never see that, he just expects more from me while others read X rated comics online and another CNN all day online. Such is life, I'll do the best I can and I need to not stress about the rest. I'll get over it I suppose
Later for now...

Morning all!!

Dh and I splurged a little last night because the food bank was low (i.e. the fridge.) But today is payday!! So we're going grocery shopping tonight. I have a list all made out. I'm sooo excited!!! Tomorrow is the thanksgiving shopping day. I don't know what it is, but I'm just not all that excited about it this year. Maybe food has lost its hold on me! (At least a little)

Well I'm getting hungry so I'm gonna snack on some cheese and read my book

Good morning!
Zoned out last night working on my laptop so this a.m. I had to clean up the kitchen, etc. Randy is off today so he is still sleeping.
He will work on drywall today. With the way the economy is we will put up the drywall (already have it), mud and tape and take it one week at a time. If things don't look up painting and new flooring will be put off for awhile. At least my walls and attic now have decent insulation so I should see lower heating/cooling cost.
Today is my last day at work for 9 days. I don't know if they will be enjoyable. I know worrying doesn't solve everything but I will try not to worry. Won't be as much quiet time as I thought though. Randy works Monday and is off the rest of the week....he will get 3 days pay for next week.
