Yeah, it's not just what the gift costs, but the cost of sending it.

I'm going to have to pass on the Secret Santa also. I'm so busy lately that I'm afraid I would forget, plus I have no clue when Jay's getting laid-off and money is always tight around that time.

I'd really love to, but I just can't commit to it right now.

hey guys- what's OP mean? i'm usually good with abbreviations and such, but i just can't get this one figured out. i know it usually stands for 'original poster' but obvi that's not the case

since you asked, i'll tell you a little about myself
i'm 18, and a college freshman. i was supposed to go away to school, but i ended up staying home (and that means living at home, too) at the last minute, and attending the local university (UNC Charlotte). i really don't like it, and my grades have suffered a lot. but it's ok, i'm not going to complain about it on here! i'm working on bringing my grades back up so i can transfer.

the reason i'm going LC is because well.. i'm in college and i'm supposed to be looking my best right now.. everyone wants to look like how they did in college! so, i want to look my absolute best while i still can :P

oh, and by the way- i work at starbucks.. so if y'all ever have any questions about our recipes, LC options (not many), etc,.. fire away!

Morning all!!

Rough night for me....baby was restless all night and awake from 3-5 am. Puked 3 times all over me and some how my CD drive got opened (my CPU is on the floor) and so I got up from the computer and dug a chunk out of my knee. Still hurts. Imagine me at 4 am holding a 22 lb, cranky, 9 month old fumbling with one hand in the linen closet in the first aid kit to find a big bandaid while the baby pukes all over me....I had puke all down my front and blood dripping down my leg....*sigh* I know there is humor in this and I'll know I'll find it later, but right now I'm just tired. Of course thankfully the toddler slept through the night last night *miracle of miracles*

Scale says 195.2 this morning!!! Woo Woo!!! Still on plan! DH is too. We had bacon cheddar stuffed burgers for dinner last night with broccoli on the side. Mmmmmm. I'm having one for breakfast!! I might crumble one up and add it to some eggs for a yummy scrambler....Cool thing is our local publix sells a low sodium no added sugar bacon that DH and I like much better than any other kind!

Morning!!!!

Another rainy day, and they are talking Temps dropping and that this may go into snow showers. I bought 8 packs of LED Multi Christmas lights last night. I was hoping to get started on getting them up. All the bushes, the roof, the tree, the porch area. My brother who is just like Clark Griswald goes all out. This year he is going for 30,000 lights. Each year his neighborhood votes for the best decorated house and they usually win. The past few years he has been switching over to the LED lights which 1 set of 69 is only 1 Watt!!! it's unreal! I regular night light in your house runs 4 watts! So this way the electric bill wont be affected at all. I am thinking about getting a timer and doing it that way, much easier!

Anyway- I need to run to the Library and then straighten up a bit.. may veg out and read my book some.

I have had stuffed chicken *drool*!! I'm also excited because my pants just don't fit anymore and I have had an add on freecycle for clothes ( I decided not to buy new until I hit close to goal) for a month and I finally had a lady who has 2 big bags of assorted size 16-18 clothes for me Hopefully she'll call and I can pick up today.

Good morning ladies..............

Stopping by on this dreary wet morning but I'm not complaining. We really really need the rain. Like Diana, we are supposed to see colder temperatures by late afternoon and perhaps some flurries over nite or tomorrow. We are supposed to have the family come up for dinner tomorrow so we are hoping for at least decent driving conditions.

Sorry for your rough evening (early morning) Sarah. I was up at 5 so I could have helped

Thinking of Stormy & her brother & her family

Thinking of Mendocito

Trying now to get my eating under control and make the best choices I can. This weight battle has been pretty much a life long project

Where's Lori? Hope she is okay.

Went to Sam's yesterday and couldn't help to think of Terry

Annie from the west. Where are you planning to transfer? (WCU or Appalachia or out of state)

I think I smell my coffee ready................leaving some & before I get back

Annie...I couldn't work at Starbucks....I am a javaholic You are wise to work at eating healthy when you are young

Diana....I can't wait to see pics of the house when you guys are done! Casey must be in heaven....we are babies and don't put lights on the house. It is a two story house (actually 3 on the garage side as the garage is under the house) and we've had one ladder accident already I always wanted lights though....candles in the window is as close as we've gotten

Sarah Lynn, I'm sorry the baby was sick, and your knee. Ouch! You're right, some day you will look back and laugh. I was watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 this week, and it was an episode in which the flu was making the rounds at their house. I felt so bad for her! As soon as she got one cleaned up, another one would get sick.

to Jamie, my coffeholic friend! My DH is the same way. He could never control himself working at Starbucks!

Wow snow flurries already? I personally think we're going to have an extra cold, nasty winter this year, except California of course. When we get a lot of rain up here, they stay dry. It seems like the storm track either goes north and hits us, or it goes south and hits them. So far this season, it's gone north, which is why they're having those hot winds. for them!

Annie

Am I the only person in the world who doesn't like Starbucks? I think it is the worst (and overpriced) coffee I had a favorite mom and pop stand that I stopped at every day when I was still drinking lattes but now I make my own coffee from fresh ground beans, DaVinci's and a dash of HWC.

I don't know what's on the agenda today .... I know I need to get my hair cut soon so maybe I will venture out and do that. Maybe go to Rainier and then stop at Goodwill - we haven't been there for awhile. D went grocery shopping yesterday so I don't need to do that

off to get a 2nd cup of coffee and see what is going on in the world ... all around

Hi all,

How is every one?

It's a beautiful day here and DH and I might just get in the truck and go until Sunday night. Who knows where? Those seem to be our best trips, the one's unplanned.

Sarah on the weight loss!
for your knee.
for your little one getting sick.

DH is up at around 3 every morning. So from 3 on I don't seem to get much sleep. I should just get up but I try to force myself to sleep.

DS is spending the weekend at a friends house. The boys are all gamers and when we went to buy the new version of World of Warcraft the other day, my son reminding me that it was better than him taking drugs. That's how he justifies the hundreds of hours sitting in front of that screen.

I too wonder where Lori is. And Stormy.
Goodness, I hope that Stormy's brother is okay, the last she said was that he was going to the er.

I too coffee. Pete's Coffee!
I used to go to SB all the time, but found out that their coffee was giving me a headache. I never found out why. Maybe it was the mocha I was putting in it. DH was never a coffee drinker until he met me. Neither is his family. My family centered around a pot of coffee and scrabble. Boy I miss my grandma and those days.

This time last year I weighed what I weigh now. My mind is doing a number on me again. I know I'm doing great but I sometimes can't seem to get my mind wrapped around it. I have worked so hard the past two months. MDH & MDM supports me and all I can think is yeah, yeah.

I told this to my DM yesterday and she explains it to me that we as humans do not really ever take on a task that lasts so long so therefore we don't know how to get our arms wrapped around it. My end goal if I keep plugging away like I am will be May 15th of next year. In a way, I can't believe it - May 15, 2009 and I will have lost 75 pounds. In the meantime I struggle everyday to keep on keeping on. I think part of it is because my pants even after a loss of 26 pounds still fit the same. However, I am really thiankful that I mentally made the decision to start.

We don't have a DD in town or I probably would be. Years ago my sis and I used to stop at one in Vancouver on the way home from the Portland Trailblazer games (we had season tickets) and fill up our thermos for the drive home. We loved that coffee even back then - and of course the donuts. I always had to have a toasted coconut one. I forget what sis's favorite was.

Thank you, Jamie! I think I'm still riding the wave of the last Prednisone I had, along with the slow release cortisone shot they gave me a week ago Thursday. I am feeling the difference since I stopped the Prednisone, though. Increase of the symptoms and all that jazz.

Yup I have heard we are suppose to have a dry winter.

More high winds in the 70 mph and temps are up in the 90's with very little humidity today - another fire broke out over night in the LA area and many houses have been lost!

Terry: I know you know the area - this fire is in Sylmar and the 5 is now closed.

Keep this area in your prayers as these high winds and high temps are suppose to continue this weekend and that combo is hard for firefighters.

to everyone!

I have had MSNBC on all morning watching this. for those who have lost their homes, and for those fighting the fires.

The 5 ... is that I-5?

Yes the I-5. For those who know So Cal it is closed between the 126 and the 405 whuich is a pretty long stretch.

Another fire in Anaheim Hills and Yorba Linda now. So many homes lost.
