Round 3 - Woo Hoo!!

Hay girls! So many pages since I was last here - I don' think I will be able to catch up , so I'll just move ahead from here. I'm starting round 3 this week, so I'm carb downing it for a few days and then I'll pick up the cycle on Friday. (after the day I had yesterday, I NEED to carb down!) Off to read some posts...............
XOXO
P.S. I just realized Connie left for Hawaii yesterday and I didn't get to tell her bye Geez, did miss anything else?

I just got off the phone from Wendy and she would love to include some of you in the new book. She really is appreciative of all of your support and wants to acknowledge you publically. Is that cool or what!!! Problem is, the book needs to be COMPLETE by 12/15/08 for a March 2009 release so we need these right away. That's just crazy! So far, the name of the book may be something like, "Crack the fat loss code II - plan, organize & design your Ultimate body, health & life".

What she requests is:
1. Before and after photos. Real photos, not digital. McGraw Hill says that they're easier to work with and I suspect that they may think that some people might digitally enhance photes. Please note that they may not be returned.
2. Stories. What your life was like before and how this has changed your life or accomplishments, or whatever you may deem appropriate. Don't worry if you can't write well. The editors can massage your words without changing any of your message.
3. Recipes. I've seen some in here and they're fabulous. We would love for you to share them.

McGraw Hill will ask for a release to be signed by anybody that is used in the book noting that you are not expecting anything in return and probably something to the effect that you can't sue anybody for anything. There is no compensation for this because the stories are less believable if you get paid to do them. She mentioned getting some
t-shirts made for you, but this is coming up so quickly that we're not sure about anything.

Unfortunately, not everybody can be chosen to be in the book. Be sure to put your LCF.com sign in names tho just so I can put your names with real names and faces.

Hi ladies!

Week 2 day 3 here. This is my first baseline day, and I just want to say coming off of last week...it is amazing! I haven't started exercise yet, and I think I am going to start later this week. I am just trying to get a feel for the different days and how my body will respond to them. You know?

Linda- Love the Tattoo! Looks great!

Kelley- I am so sorry! Having your baby girl sick is torture! My girl has a runny nose and I'm kinda flipping out over here, so I can imagine what you are going through. Pretty pitiful. I hope she gets better soon.

That is correct. On High carb days, you have a "clean carb" at B,L,&D. That means a carb from your list, not sweets, alchohol, chips, or anything like that.
Carb up days have no restrictions to the type of carbs.

"Cheat days" is anything you want that you might not have normally on any other day. If you want to have a fluffernutter sandwich with hot fudge and potato chips on soft white bread (trust me...it's good) or Popeye's Fried Chicken, you can have it.

Jerri - How exciting!!! One problem, I don't own a "real film" camera anymore, nor do I know anyone with one either LOL!! Oh well.....Maybe I'll just write a passionate letter to the editor proclaiming my love for this WOE! I'm sure they'll be getting tons of letters from our Crackers. We're all so happy for Wendy - please share our love with her

Hi Jerri! Thanks for chiming in! I'm not an oldtimer yet but I've read the book MANY times and thanks to the wonderful folks on this thread,I feel that I can answer some of the simple questions. I can't wait til the new book comes out. I just wish I had started this WOE sooner and could be in the book.

Hello ladies,

Confession time for me.

Last week I started my 2nd round. Carb down for a week was a walk in park. I lost about 1.5- 2 lbs (probably just water) but by the end of the week I was crashed, has to study for my Saturday Final, full time job, in the middle of the budget, had to pull a whole nighter on Friday so I can be ready for my final on Saturday. Anyway I CHEATED big time.

So I figured I will start all over again on Monday, and this time I will do carb deplete right from the begining, 20 grams of carbs and all that because I really want a good start.

So here I am. The good thing was that carb down week was easy, so lets hope this weeks stays as good.

Enjoy your day and I am off to eat my tuna with salade.

Have a great lunch!

Dede, Had this saved in my notes from a previous post. I think Jerri had given us this advice based on someone else's question on holiday eating.

Holidays:

"I got the scoop last night on the holiday meal. Do a "no starch" the day before and after and cheat on the holiday. By no starch, I mean it's like a deplete day but you can have the tomatoes and onions and stuff like that. By cheat, I mean WHATEVER you want."

Thanks Jerri- I am sold on this WOE- it's helped my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, and general inflammation immensely, and though I have only lost a bit under 6 lbs, I am feeling so great, and in control, that I have adopted it as a way of life. Holidays this year meant sane , controlled eating, and no guilt!!! I have lost loads of inches, and my clothes fit so much better. I am in this for the long run!!
SO, now after almost 2.5 months on this wonderful WOE, I need your advice urgently- did you see my other question further back in the thread?
I started Aug31, and am only starting W6 now, as even though I was pretty "good" during the Jewish holiday season, I just maintained (though I did lose inches!!), so I counted only whole "clean" weeks, so I am now starting W6.
Question is- what do I do next week- maintenance (I feel maybe those holidays were kind of maintenancey....), or start over at W2, after carbing down 4 days....
I would really appreciate your professional input and advice, so I can continue succeeding, and maybe be one of Wendy's and your next big success stories!!.

Wow! You guys have been very busy ... So many posts. Cool news, too, about the new book. I bet there's lots of inspiration to be found on these boards.

I'm on Week 2, Day 3 -- my first baseline day -- and feeling great! Happy too to be back in the 120s. This seems very doable long term, especially now that I'm past Week 1. My biggest accomplishment so far is that I haven't had any desserts. I'm a complete chocoholic. I didn't pick up any premade Atkins shake until last Friday and those are a godsend. (Btw, here in Michigan anyway, they are a lot cheaper at Meijers than at Kroger. Meijer has a 12 pack for $17.99 and Kroger has a 4 pack for $9.96. )

We'll I'm off to do some housework and get some bulk cooking done, to make the rest of the week easier.

Hope that everyone has a great day, a hug for anyone who is discouraged and, Kelley, I hope that your little one feels better soon ...

Jassy, don't be so hard on yourself! Carb deplete is not the answer (and is not the solution for cheating!) Carb down today and pick up your week according to your schedule.
From Wendy herself:
If I mess up a day, what do I do? The best thing to do if you mess up or get off track is to just pick up the plan with the next day as written. Don't get in the habit of fixing mistakes by going back to the first week. If you do mess up in the first week you will have to start over, it is the only time you will have to start over because the first week must be exact. Remember life does happen and sometimes getting off track does occur. If you have fat to lose, own the mistake and just get back on the program.

BTW - I went to my WalMart yesterday and they FINALLY had some Atkins shakes on the shelf. I was able to find the 4 pack + 2 free shakes, so ya'll keep your eyes open for them. The price was still $6.50, but I least I got 2 reebies - Yea!

Go ahead and do your maintenence weeks and then the 4 carb downs (which may be 5, depending which days you use) and start week 2 again. So, if your cheat is on Saturday, 4 carb down would be Sun thru Thurs. To pick back up on Friday, is a normal down day, meaning 5 down days in a row and then back to your Saturday carb up. This is how I did it.

Only problem, I have a closet FULL of size larges - coats I LOVE - now I'll have to start buying mediums or else I'm gonna freeze my buns off this winter LOL!!!

Yeah! Book two! I'm an avid reader so ready for the next one. I've read 2 of the 3 running books so have my podcast downloaded. Ready to go! Julie when your knee is ready let us know. We have 4 starting the couch to 5k so if anyone else wants to jump on the running wheel let us know.

There is another exercise thread just like this to jot your comments and accomplishments and you know how well this works. I've got to go grocery shopping because having everything ready for the week really helps. See you all later.

Hey, Jerri, just to make sure I'm doing this right...

... I'm a bit dense, and still feel a bit guilty about those holiday weeks...

This is how I did it.
So, if I understood you correctly, even though it took me 11 weeks to finish 6 weeks of "clean" eating, I should still do 2 maintenance weeks?
Can I switch around my High carb and cheat days, to make Friday my high carb day? I have a Sabbath meal Friday night at which I have to have 1 slice of challah bread, or does the cheat day have to be first?
Also, do I HAVE to cheat? The way I eat happily is more carb-up than cheat....

Hi All.

Alissa I got that email too but mine does not say there is an internet class only that there is a new boot camp in Florida. Must not be the same as yours.

ANOTHER great thing with this program is it keeps me focused on the day. saturday was cheat day and my mom's 80th bday surprise party. she was honestly soo surprised. we had kareokee and she sang I sang, much fun. yesterday was suposed to not have sugar, but my day did
However, I get to work and everytime I hear water, i pick up my glass and drink. weekends I am not good on water. i finally got my second book (lost the first one somewhere, so it will be nice to go back and read again. this is week 8 day 1 WOW
