You know, JMOO, but with my hubby, he started full guns, lost all his "quit smoking" weight, and I still have 15 more to go. he still does the powder and the EZ bread, and just in general he's adopted a lot of the healthy ways, so when I see him (like last night, and we're in maintence, having a honey and (lots of) p-nut butter sandwich (on EZ bread tho) at oh, 11 pm, I mentioned our starches are supposed to be before 3, and laughed, he's not eating a gallon of ice cream like he used to (yes in 1 nite), and its, just easier for men to lose weight than women, has been my experience allll my life. I would suggest you waiting until after thanks giving, b/c of that first week being so important, and then it might be fun. I know my H and I had fun with it, but he lost interest this last week or so, but it still has helped me, and he now (when he cooks) does so very healthy and gets the concept. anyway just some Friday thoughts.

That sounds like my dh! I would be thrilled if he was eating PB and honey on EZ bread instead of ice cream! Good for you guys, it's nice to have someone doing this WOE with you. I am looking forward to having my dh on this WOE soon!

Sorry I haven't responded lately, but I wanted to say congrats to Alissa! I am so excited for you!

I also wanted to tell Tam that I am so sorry for your loss . Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Jeanne, to you and your husband. We are so happy to have you here. I feel that people who find this thread who have started or are getting ready to start on CTFLC WOE will have a much greater chance of succeeding by coming here and getting the great advice from the people here. I know they have helped me tremendously!

Wow Jackie. I just checked out Georgetown Indiana and it looks like a great place to live. The party sounds great, but you should probably clear it with Ken. After all you have offered his massage services so freely.

Today is my day off and so far (it is almost noon) i have managed to do NOTHING so whoo hooo for me. That is exactly what i had planned for today!

I had the most wonderful cheat day yesterday (actually, last night), the only problem is that THERE IS NO CHEAT DAY IN WEEK 3! It started out as a carb up day and since i wasn't feeling well in the morning, totally missed my protein meals. You can guess what happened from there. I ended up having two bowls (yes 2) of raisin bran, a bag of 100 calorie chips and and english muffin with honey and butter and oh yes, i wasn't finished there, i had crackers with chipolte hummus (it is delicious). Ok, that was finally the end. But, i am learning, this only happens to me when i don't eat enough protein throughout the day. I did feel guilty enough to get out my old dusty tae bo tape and do 1/2 hour of exercise. I just cant believe i couldn't stop myself after working so hard to get where i am. So, i am just going to do a carb down today and maybe tomorrow and i will jump back on board. Everything is not lost, i just have to try to remember to eat my protein, even if i am not feeling well. oh yeah, TOM is around the corner so usually can tell when it is coming cause i crave starches but only for a couple of days. During and after, i am fine. ok, enough babbling but hoping that maybe my insight into why this happened can help someone else. I also have a workout at curves planned for today and then i will do tae-bo all weekend. it sure works the legs in ways that i never imagined!

As much as i miss having a baby around, it is nice when the kids get older and they do their own laundry and get their own snacks etc. My oldest is 20 and my youngest is 12 so I am hoping i planned it just right so that maybe i have a grandchild before the youngest one leaves home (that is if she stays until she is 18 - I am such a mean mom so who knows what will happen). My kids have been my whole life so i dont know how i will feel when they move out . . . on the upside, since the kids don't need me as much, me and DH have been doing alot more things together like quadding and snowmobiling. It is kind of nice for me and him to be able to do stuff together now.

Hi ladies!

I have been ill since Tuesday and have not logged on since. I have kept up with the program though (yay) and have a question!

Tomorrow I will be attending a cooking class. We are making a full thanksgiving meal (yikes!) and then we will likely be consuming said meal as well. Now, tomorrow will be my first day of week 3. Yesterday, was my first carb up day and today is supposed to be my baseline day, but I have only had one serving of carbs, so if need be, in preperation tomorrow I could make today a carb down day. Help!!! What do I do??

Natasha: If you are going to make tomorrow your carb up day, you definitely need to make today a carb down day! I believe you would then follow that with a baseline and then pick up with your week 3. The elders will chime in I hope!

What a sweet grandmother you are! I love that idea!

We had issues with my daughter for #2 as well. I read somewhere that someone told their child that when you flush, it goes out to the fish in the ocean and well....who knew, but it worked for her too!

Her daycare teacher also promised to come see her room, which helped since she really loves her.

Sounds like my household 16 (almost 17), 13 and 3! I got remarried and it took a while to convince him to have one more (then wanted me to get my tubes tied because he knows I'd likely beg for 'one more' about now ) Yes, I might be crazy. I love being a mom and love little ones so would have a houseful if I were able to financially. But like you, it'll be nice when they are older to get back to skydiving. It's too expensive a sport to do right now with the kids wanting food and shelter and stuff

Week 1 Day 6

Hi, everyone.

I've done okay so far on this deplete week. Not too difficult, except I sometimes forgot to eat my snack in the afternoon. I think I'm going to set up a reminder on my computer here at work so I don't end up eating my turkey/cheese roll in the car on the way home. Sheeesh..

I've been keeping myself busy by setting up my own menu planning charts in Excel. Now I want to add food lists to help with the shopping. I'll be shopping a bit on the way home today - found a store that carries Ezekiel Bread. Yay! Then tonight I'll be making out a menu and shopping list. I'll be starting Week 2 on Sunday, so want to be prepared - NO EXCUSES!

Well, you are such a chatty group there's no way I can do any personals right now. Just wanted you all to know that I appreciate all the good information here.

Still hanging In

Week 4 day 5
I still am struggling is anyone else having a hard time. I feel like a whiny baby I am still just hanging in I cant get my attitude wraped around this yet. I had a good carb up day did not stuff had spagetti and one cookie did pretty good . THE NEXT day was hell I wanted to eat everything in sight and wanted cookies cookies and more cookies. I am losing my motivation again. What is wrong with me I know this is a good way of eating but I get sooooo down and then dont want to plan anything and to be successful you have to meal plan and that is what gets to me.
desperate and whiny

I've been keeping myself busy by setting up my own menu planning charts in Excel. Now I want to add food lists to help with the shopping. I'll be shopping a bit on the way home today - found a store that carries Ezekiel Bread. Yay! Then tonight I'll be making out a menu and shopping list. I'll be starting Week 2 on Sunday, so want to be prepared - NO EXCUSES!

Well, you are such a chatty group there's no way I can do any personals right now. Just wanted you all to know that I appreciate all the good information here.
Linda: good to see you here. Planning is a great tool to use to stay on track. Good for you!

I am losing my motivation again. What is wrong with me I know this is a good way of eating but I get sooooo down and then dont want to plan anything and to be successful you have to meal plan and that is what gets to me.
desperate and whiny
Nina:

Sounds like you answered your own question. Girl, quit sabotaging yourself and start planning! Seriously, this is coming from a self-saboteur myself. I know all the ways to do it. Posting what I am eating on the menu thread really helps me, but do I do it? No. Am I going to start? Yes. Definitely.

How much water are you drinking? That is so important, and today I have made it a point to drink my water. I put 32 ounces of water into a quart mason jar and started drinking it with a straw. I had it all gone before I knew it. I have had a second one and am working on my 3rd one.

Seriously, the water truly does help. There is nothing wrong with you my dear, we all just have our things and you will find a way to work through yours.

We are here for you all the way!

Jackie Congratulations on your very long and successful marriage. Along with your cookbook and website you should give marriage counseling too.

Okay, HELP HELP HELP!!!!! I am on W2 D 5, and I gained a pound this week and I'm not happy!!!! I've been sticking to things, but tomorrow is a carb up day and I am afraid to CARB UP!!!!! I sure liked losing a lot of weight on week 1, but realize I canNOT eat like that forever. I did lose an inch off hip and waist, so I am thankful for that, but the weight thing is scaring me. I know. Don't weigh. I can't help it. I have to. Think of it as a sickness. I need a little encouragement. Carb Up Day is scaring me. . . .
