You got it. I keep it right on my desk next to my computer. As you might have noticed from my numerous whining posts (), I am a tough loser and I keep re-reading it hoping for a line or two I overlooked.

I am convinced that, as our elders said, one day/week the flood gates will open and inches will come off.

Yep, I am carbing down today. I had a carb up last night (switched from Saturday). The highlight of the day was my first glass of wine in a month. The food (we ate out) was blah... It was OK but not a carb-up day OK, if you know what I mean. Oh well...

I did have a pumpkin cheesecake (shared with DH) and more than one glass of wine () so, per Wendy's instructions, I am carbing myself down today. And you know what? I don't mind that at all. I find baseline and Carb down days be as comfortable as my favorite pair of PJs.

Dede, I forgot - are we on the same week or you are one week ahead? It's my week 4.

Sherrie, Wow! Great job on the weight loss and the inches gone! I wish I had measured myself. I think I will do that right now. Better late than never right? I am on week 6, day 1 today. At week 5 I was down 17 lbs. and stayed the same as of this morning (start of week 6). This was the first week I hadn't lost. I am on the accelerated fat loss weeks so hopefully by next Monday I will have lost more. I remember someone here saying that on week 5 they didn't lose but on week six they lost 3 lbs. Anyway, I've dropped a couple sizes in clothes so I'm very happy. I use my treadmill faithfully. This is the easiest plan to stick to that I have ever been on. I love this WOE!!!

Lynda~~
Wow, great results
Do you mind my asking - how much you lost after week 1 and how much after that one?

Hey there spydermonekeyIn the book, page 97, where Wendy talks about food passes, she advises to carb down the day before and, in case of over-indulging, carb down the day after. I would consider your friend's slip up as an overindulgence on her free pass day and carb down. Maybe the elders can chime in...

P.S. That's what I am doing today - had too much fun last night with my carb-up

Wishing everyone a good week!
Update your stats! It'll make you feel even better about the loss. I can't wait to update mine!!!!

Not only the routine will make exercise easier, but also those 10 lbs and 5.5 inches! As you get lighter and leaner it gets easier to move.

Advice you got sounds great- my two pence: Tell her to keep an eye on her carb-up day- either she's overdoing it, or had that candy on an empty tummy- I never have sweets by themselves- preferably after protein/fat- otherwise they cause a blood sugar drop- and that causes CRAVINGS the next day!!!
If you already have cravings, keep the protein/fats up, and drink alot- don't ever let yourself get hungry!!!

Multi quoting from last thread:
Multiquote on the old thread, push reply, and then cut and paste it all onto a reply on the new thread. Works like a charm!!

Very worried about Kelley- she went off to the doctor with her baby, and never came back- not like her..... Hope all's OK over there...

Feeling frustrated

week 4 day 1

I am not having the great success that I feel I should. I lost great in week one 9lbs. I am sooooo carb sensitive I know if I delete them I lose weight. Then week two I gained 3lbs and week three no loss at all.
How do I tweak this to get results, I need some results it is too hard to stay motivated.
I am following the plan. I have not gone down in pant size. I did measure myself at the begining at Curves but havent remeasured as of yet.
I am realistic I know a 1 - 2 lbs loss weekly is the best for lasting weight loss.
But that is not happening.
I am still on the plan but feelilng discouraged.

Frozen Banana Cream

Howdy ladies

I thought this recipe might be good for when we can finally have fruit and it can masquerade as a "dessert". I will post it on the recipe thread as well.

Frozen Banana Cream

1 Serving

This is an old restaurant trick that has been around for years. Use this delightfully simple "sorbet" wherever you would use ice cream. Try it sprinkled with chopped nuts, or on a bed of pureed raspberries or strawberries. We can also add nutmeg and cinnamon to give our metabolism and extra kick in the butt

Ingredients:
1 very ripe banana

Instructions:
Peel the banana and cut it into chunks. Put the chunks, uncovered, on a plate in the freezer, and freeze for at least an hour. (They can stay overnight.) When you're ready to serve, take out the banana and put the frozen pieces in a blender or food processor, and process until smooth, scraping down the sides of the container as needed. As the bananas thaw slightly, the texture will become smooth and creamy.

Nutritional Information:

Per serving:
92 calories
0 g total fat (0 g sat)
0 mg cholesterol
23 g carbohydrate
1 g protein
2 g fiber
1 mg sodium

Vladis, I lost 12 lbs. the first week, 2 lbs. the second week, 2 lbs. the 3rd week and 1 lb. the 4th week. Week 5 I stayed the same but I've also stepped up my time on the treadmill because I've felt so good so I'm thinking I'm gaining muscle which I needed to do.

Nina: Don't be discouraged. I lost 10.5 pounds the first week, 1/2 pound the second week, and 1 pound the third week. Look at it as if you have had a 6 pound weight loss over the past 3 weeks. That's great! Your body is adjusting. Are you posting your daily intake on the menu thread? That could be important. Are you getting in all your water every day? That's very important. I know I am not getting enough water in. I think my loss would be greater if I would get my water in. If you are not posting your daily intake, go ahead. Kelley and Alissa are on over there and there might be some things they can help you tweak. You're still on plan, so keep smiling!

Too funny, Vladis. You really make my day most days. I love reading your posts! I didn't overindulge on carbup Saturday, but my choice of foods (Chinese) left me feeling less than desirable! I drank some water, took my cal/mag and extra magnesium (to help clean me out) and went to bed. Woke up the next morning feeling brand new, fit as a fiddle, and discovered I'd lost 1 pound! YAY!!! It's still going down!

Oh one more think. I think that Kelley17 would look at what you ate on your carb up and say that you did nothing wrong. She swears that that is what it is for and that unless you absolutely stuffed yourself, that you were within limits. She says,(can you tell that I think she and Alissa are great),that we have to stop feeling guilty about the treats we have on carb up.You might want to just do a baseline today. My 2 cents for what it's worth. dede

NO TWEAKING to lose faster- this is what it's all about - you are repairing your body and metabolism, preparing it for a great new way of life.
You will become less carb reactive over time (I have, immensely), and will break free from the shackles of carb cravings and emotional eating!!
Nina, 6 lbs in 3 weeks is GREAT!!!!! Don't forget you are also shrinking.
See this as an 8 week project, and don't even think about it til you finish, weigh and MEASURE. I haven't lost weight in weeks (had a Jewish holiday month in the middle, and this WOE helped me not gain any back, and continue shrinking through the whole thing, while enjoying the holidays more than usual) so I am technically starting W6 now, with under 6 lbs lost, but many inches- but am sticking it out til the end- the benefits outweigh the fact the scale isn't budging.
Just go on autopilot for the next 5 weeks- when you surface you will be ecstatic!!!

You can do it!! Just read the threads when you get discouraged!!!

Hey, Jackie, you are NOT talking to yourself- I heard it all! Kudos on the smaller size clothes- flat pockets and all!!!
It's just impossible to keep up with this all.
I'm not shopping this winter- decided to shop my closet instead! I feel so much better in last winter's clothes (most of my stuff is much older than that....I buy good classic stuff) that I want to revel in that.
End of season sales are very early here (some have started already) that I may just pick up something then. Meanwhile, I am enjoying my new body instead of the new clothes!!

Hiya, Dede!
I'm enjoying my plain 2 minute muffin every morning! 1/2 t. cinnamon, and a bit of splenda in it, and 1/2 t. honey and some cottage cheese spread on it. Yum!!
My DS11 eats it every morning with honey and butter.

BTW- put a bit of butter in my hot chocolate shake last night, instead of a bit of half and half (not available here) and it was delish - more chocolatey than cocoaey, if you know what I mean- that will be an occasional splurge!
Thanks for the advice about the almonds, guys and Jerri- they have saved my life!!!

Nina

I'm with the others-6lbs in 3 week is really is great! If you had done any other plan,it couldn't have been better. I have been very fortunate to have lost quite a bit in the first 3 weeks but I would bet that when I weigh tomorrow, that I will have either stayed the same,(which I will be happy about),or maybe gained a little. The thing I'm happiest about is that I feel good and I have finally gotten a grip on my carbfest eating. The more carbs I ate,the more I wanted. I was a puffy, irritable, unhappy mess! Please don't give up. Give it the whole 8 weeks. Oh and as others have said-water,water,water!
