I am fine in a room full of 5 year olds, but I am about in a panic about having to talk to 4 adults. I always feel like everyone else is smarter than me.

Please keep me in your thoughts that the interview will be over quickly and I won't make a fool of myself by not being able to answer their questions intelligently. Well going to bed to read and try to relax. Have a great evening.
YOU'LL do great tomorrow... CHIN UP!

I am having a pretty darn good day - a LOT of energy. I mean, I know myself and I am days from TOM and I should be totally wiped out BUT ....I have a LOT of energy.

When I started the program I could barely do my stationary bike (15-20 min on NO level - just pedaling). Today I did 30 min and 30 min later in the day - 12 miles altogether (albeit on level 1).

I had two carb downs and tomorrow is my carb up. I am actually liking my carb downs and baseline days much better - less stress. We are going to a function tomorrow so God only knows what we'll be eating .

OK, glad everybody's having fun. Just wanted to say howdy and let you know that I don't complain ALL the time.

to all!
I'd like to call the the "muffin scandal", thank you very much...
I lost a job once over the brownie scandal, so I think we need to have a muffin scandal.

Sounds like you are doing awesome... keep up the great work. I've fallen off the wagon, not badly, but I have a question on where to go from here, so I'll post about it separately.

Hope your function goes well tomorrow.... remember, no guilt.

Where do I go back to????

So we've been sick since Saturday which was a carb up day. Had the chuch festival Sunday, and didn't eat B day like I should have, I just didn't plan very well. Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday are all messed up too. At this point, I'm not even sure where I am supposed to be. I haven't been hungry and have been eating what I felt like eating when I could eat. I can say that I haven't TOTALLY fallen off the wagon, but could have made a few better choices. I haven't gone hog wild crazy eating carbs or sweets. TOM started this morning, so that explains some of the sweet cravings I've been having. I dont' necessarily want anything sweet, but have that sweet feeling. I have been trying to do protein shakes for those moments. A sugar free fudgesicle tonight helped. One minute muffin today for snack, salads when I can stomach them. I did have a biscuit and about 3 bites of mashed potatoes last night with dinner.

So where do I go from here? Now that I'm starting to feel a little better I need to get back on track, but not sure where to start.

Sara... You figured it out before I could reply! Once you begin to add weight training...you may see a weight gain and feel an increase in thirst...then you will start to see the muscle development under the skin.

THAT is a cool sight

Kelley...BIG HUG...darling...NO GUILT Just carb down tomorrow and proceed as you would through a regular week. I am always cautions when I start thinking...maybe I need a "X" number of carb down days to "correct" slips (and the like)...you know this WOE is about ridding ourselves of that guilt. Life happens, if we treat this like a "diet" we will always "fall off the wagon"...if we treat it like a WOL/WOE then we succeed no matter how many slips You KNOW what you can do to get back on track IF you feel "cravings" pop back up, then there is a prescribed course of action but you are not there...YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!

AND I KNOW THE MUFFIN MAN
Do YOU know the Muffin Man?
Who started this scandle anyway?? And where is that Dough Boy anyway??

Oh my...I am slap happy...I need some sleep uninterrupted...no sick kiddies tomorrow PLEASE?!?

MY HOUSE :)

Dear Ladies,

My realtor called me, the other party "The Seller" has agreed to "re-consider" my price. My realtor asked me to change the inspection clause to read 5 days with a close on Nov 28 and to change the price back...initial the changes, sign and send it back!!

I will know at about noon tomorrow as we have an appointment to see house #2 at 1, which will not be necessary if the sellers fax back their acceptance by noon

WOW. I am so excited Where is the little yellow face doing the "shopping cart" happy dance??

Life is beautiful

Happy day, night, morning...where ever your time zone has your lovely souls

I am forever and eternally gratefully His! Thank you Jesus!

Your blissfully and happy friend,

Alissa

1/4 c ground flaxseed
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 packet of splenda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 whole egg
1 tblsp butter

microwave 1 min.

tweak it anyway you want. Enjoy!

This looks a bit dry- with 15 gr. B fat (out of the 20 allowed the whole day).
I do it this way:
3 T. ground flax
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. cinnamon
splenda/stevia to taste
2 eggs
Mix dry ingredients in big coffee mug, add eggs, zap for 2 minutes. It fills the mug- very light and fluffy!(As it bakes it looks like it's going to overflow, but then it settles down....)

I slice it lengthwise into 3- top it with a bit of cottage cheese...
Every day for breakfast- sets me up for the day!
DS11 has it also for breakfast, with butter and honey- yum!

Interesting link- look how healthy our WOE and the muffin is!!!!

Should I, may I , say "I told you so"? (Did you see that post?)- Can't blame them for trying to get more these days, but it's a common move, and you handled it beautifully by walking away!
Good luck- go to sleep- I'll stay up and pray!

Yes my friend, you in fact did "say so". With an MBA in my pocket and 12 years as a business development director, I understand how to negotiate Thanks for all the prayers...and honestly...house #2 is a great house! I'd be happy in either one AND I found house #3 today Sooo...if things work out...they do, otherwise I am very OK with moving on!

Thank you dear friend...I am so excited to share this news with the kids If it works out, I will be moving the week after Thanksgiving!!!!!!

Heeeyyyyyy Alissa!!!

I fell asleep on the couch for about 2 hours and now sleep is messed up again! My alarm is going off at 5:00am, and I'm not tired! Thought I'd say hello quickly.

What great news on the house! In this market, especially if the seller really wants to sell, I'm not surprised that they would do a turn-around and really consider your offer. You were accepting of the idea that the house probably would not be yours, and moved on to thinking about house #2. The Lord knows which house is best for you and how much you can afford, and He will work in the hearts and minds of the people that need to make the decisions about your offers. It's a bit of a roller coaster, isn't it?

Well, sweetie, off to bed, Anxious to hear further updates about the house and all!

(My kids don't live at home, and it's still insane with their adult life drama. Well, I like to know I'm still needed by them!!!

I dont think creative cooking is Wendy's expertise.(sorry Wendy no offense) I find you have to be creative with the menu's

Baseline days - 2 "S" servings before 3 pm

Carb Down days - 1 "S" serving before 3 pm

Carb Up days - 1 "S" serving before 3pm, followed by 2 "SA" servings after 3 at you 2 last meals of the day.

High Carb day -(weeks 7 &8) 3 "S" servings during the course of the day - no time rule.

Cheat Day - (weeks 7 &8) eat what you want when you want - YAY!

Make sure to read the notes on each suggested menu day. Baseline days you can have "FF" foods at the end of the day. On maintenance cycle you can have fruit. On carb up days, be sure you excercise or else you can only have 1 "SA" meal after 3. You'll get the hang of this soon enough, I promise

It would do Wendy a world of good to hook up with a creative team (nutritionist/chef and graphic designer) for her next book. So many of us are confused and the layout of the book is really bad! Thank goodness for this board. Also, the menu's are so limited (cavemen didn't eat 2 protein shakes a day!) and boring. And the recipes...c'maaan! Maybe she will check these boards and get some good ideas from us gals...especially a Val type menu layout. It would be great if we could download blank menu planners from her site so each week we could slap it on the fridge and fill it out ahead of time (better meal planning), or at least fill it out as we go. I was thinking about designing a magnetic menu system with a dry erase surface for myself that would help keep me organized and on track.

Alissa...
I have been following your house story in the background here and when I read they wanted you to raise your offer I was thinking in my head...WALK! I am so happy for you that you did...this is a buyers market after all! Kudos to you for having the faith to know that if it was meant to be it would be...and it was! I was also going to put my two cents in and mention that you could have offered to give them the extra 9k, finance that into your mortgage (it would only add up to a few extra dollars a month) in exchange for a "seller concession" where they would pay some or all of your closing costs, cutting down the initial capital you would have to come up with. but then I thought...this day is really about 1 minute muffins.
Good luck tomorrow!

I made cards in MS Word like the meal planners for each different type of day, write my planned meals for each type of day, and post one day at a time on my fridge. It makes it so easy to know what I need to fix for each meal. Then I change the card each day according to the plan. Sometimes I just put the card from another day (already filled out) on the fridge because I don't have time to plan out the meals and I know I have everything on hand for that card. It really helps!

Yes, Linda JUP ...I did the math...crunched the numbers...it would be about $53 more dollars per month. Honestly, that does not sound like a lot BUT I maxed out at my initial offer. I was resolute and prayed and stuck to my figure. If it does not work out, I really am OK with it! House #2 is 2 block away so I'm good either way!

I thought about all those scenarios...really...why play a game? So, I will be delighted to see their signatures accepting my price and order the inspection straight away I'll let you all know tomorrow!!!

It's a scandal I tell ya those gosh darn muffins!!!

Thank you Kelly, Kate, and Tam! Ok, so what exactly is this? A protein Is it ok to have on carb down? I seem to be having a brain fart, it's 2am and I've been up ALL night , I have no idea how to categorize the muffin. Thanks!

Oh, and what is this muffin scandal? Can someone point me to the page it's on, I am very curious

Mornin Crackers

Up and ready for my walk. Baseline day today.

Renee-congratulations on your wonderful award! I have such admiration for teachers!

Alissa-I knew you hadn't heard the last about the #1 house. Good-luck!

Who mentioned Amish friendship bread? The recipe I had was one you had to 'feed' the yeasty batter every few days with sugar.I LOVE that stuff. Really good with chocolate chips! I bet it could be googled. Only problem,it is addictive! Think I'll leave well enough alone!

Going for my walk. dede

Seriously, I am going to do some serious planning for my next carb up day which is Saturday. Doing the baseline day tomorrow. Gotta make something I can take a picture of for Alissa and Kelley! I love to make Kelley drool!
No picture needed, I just drooled over your chicken cutlets recipe.
Yummy.

Did you see my chicken cutlets with wheat germ? They are pretty good and a good substitution when you want fried chicken. You know not quite the same but hits the spot kind of thing.

Yep - makes a huge difference when you add in the exercise! And see most people restrict themselves to 1200 calories and under - UGH!

Me too. I'm trying to buy all organic meat and dairy too. If the economy keeps up the way it is i will have to go back to regular meat

Kelley17– sorry to hear about the major ear infection but glad they are giving her stronger antibiotics; hope she gets better soon! Thanks for the bmr calculator. Without even knowing it, I am eating right on track for most days.

Alissa – sorry the first house didn’t work out but God will lead you to the right one for you. Too bad Megs isn’t feeling good, sort of funny, buy my Megs is getting a bad cold and I told her she is working too many hours. Did you know the fumes from vomit can cause hallucinations??? (NOT). Not sure why you are nutso, maybe you spend too much time on this board!!!

Sara– OH MY GOSH! She is sooooo cute!

Dede– I lost 3 lbs in week 8 of maintenance. Boy was I surprised. I thought in maintenance that I wouldn’t lose weight because I was maintaining but not the case (for me anyway – everyone will be different I suppose). Thanks for the toasting the minute muffin idea, never thought of that, I bet it is good.

Kellycarbaddict – I LOVE the minute muffin. I see that some of the recipes posted have baking powder but I don’t use it and it still raises up like a muffin. I have it almost every day and it is like a dessert for breakfast!

Hi ya Kate! Carli is much better thanks. I hope you took into consideration all that physical activity you do daily! You are one hard working woman

I then pour 1/2 and 1/2 over it (1oz) and eat it hot. it reminds me of bread pudding and since it is a bit sweeter, it is a real treat. some people add baking powder or pumpkin so i guess my recipe is just a basic one.

Kelly - you guys are messing with me now

I wouldn't worry to much about your week and just start on the 4th day of whatever week you are supposed to be on and go from there.
