Yep, after week 1 you are going to start counting your total fat grams towards you daily allowance of 20g. You only count the grams in your "B" list fats (mayo, salad dressings, cheeses) your "A"fat grams are not counted but you should limit your servings to 1 or 2 a day.

Hi Sara!!
Good job finishing the run! I have also learned that I need a good amount of time (1hour plus) between a larger meal and running...ugh... Other than that how was it?
A big welcome to your daughter! She has an awesome resource in you Maybe I should call you from the grocery store as well...you can talk me away from the "samples"!! Kidding...I went to Costco yesterday...I was floored by the amount of samples doled out They had sample coffee so I just walked around with that! ![]() Man, I have TONS of reading here to catch up on...I just glanced over a few and I know I am missing stuff...sorry. I see lots of LOSERS!!! YAY LADIES!!! See, we told you, hu?? It works ![]() I want to get packed in Connie's suitcase ![]() Quote:

Back from wedding and mom....
A bummer with the food. Had a T. of PB to tide me over (at 6pm) till the wedding- my luck, first course was burekas and blintzes- no fish- had some eggplant salad-oy- no protein... and went off to my mom, and just got home now. All I've eaten since lunch (finished at 1:30) is the PB, and now it's almost 11. Believe it or not, I am fine.
In the old days I would eat at the wedding, thinking I have "no choice"- but we make our own choices!!! Whipped up a hot chocolate protein shake, and put some gelatin in it- It didn't gel!!! Can anyone tell me how much to put in? Usually I use 1 packet for 2 cups liquid- so I used 1/2, and nothing happened.... Oh well... I know it's less than 2 hours til bedtime, but it's 9 hours at least til breakfast, so I guess the shake is OK... ![]() Quote:
Connie, it's "only" 11pm here- not asleep yet.. will be soon, I hope, or at least in bed with my IPOD catching onto the voting news. I didn't vote- too much of a bother here in Israel- anyone wanna not go to make it even? ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:
As for my DS11 who is so thin- we got a letter from his school to see a doctor as his BMI is too low- he's put on afew lbs since then, and I just ignored it. My kids are soooo healthy, thank G-d, and they eat pretty healthy, so leave me alone with BMIs- my DH was the same , he's still on the thin side, but bigger bones, so the kids that have my bone structure are real "lightweights". I have a DDIL who is 5'7" and weighs 88 lbs- nobody believes she's not anorexic- she's not- I feed her all the time ![]() She's just verry small bones, and has very little muscle- but I wish I had her energy!!I'm rambling, totally off subject.... Gotta go to sleep- my contact's sticking to me eyelid (I wear only one- monovision- good for us old ladies- beats reading specs on the end of my nose... Will I EVER shut up? Oy, tomorrow morning I weigh in..... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If someone could tell me this? I lost my book and have ordered another (used) one, but I just discovered from Kelly that I can eat fruit on maintenance!! In the little cheat sheet if just has 5 Baseline days (2 starches) and then a cheat day and high carb. so are there any other differences between baseline days and maintenance days? also, is there a difference in high carb day and carb up day?
thanks so much!! |

On maintenace you can have fruit every day. At meal 1 have a protein with a starch or fruit, not both. If you have a starch at meal 1, then you may have a fruit without a protein at meal 2. If you have a fruit with your protein at meal 1, then have just a protein at meal 2. High carb goes like this: M1 P/S or A M2 P or A M3 P/S/V M4 P/O M5 P/S/V M6 FF Notice there are no SA selections in a high carb day where as a carb up day has 2. Baseline days during maintenace are the same as baseline days during the other weeks in the cycle. The only difference is that there are 5 baselines in a row , whcih is why she says it's possible to eat fruit every day during maintenance.

Hello All...So I am on day 2 and so far I feel pretty good. I have a head ache now but I think it because I had all my hair up (I have a lot of hair and if I keep it up to long I get headaches, stupid huh?)
So I will probably take something for it if it doesn't go away. Yes I called my mom at least 8 times from the store, just wanted to make sure what I was buying was okay. This is really new to me and I have yet to read the book (lazy/busy). I am really excited I hope this is the WOE for me. I am going to refrain from weighing my self (maybe) because I am a scaleaholic. I also took some measurements, so whether it's weight or inches I DON'T CARE...loss is loss for me. Just curious if you could all post how much you gals have lost so far??

Sarena ask all you want your mom wants to be supportive and she knows the questions you have when you start.
I'm week 4 day 2 I've lost 10 week 1, 2 on week 2 and 1 on week 3. I think i didn't eat enough, silly as that sounds. Reading what everyone else is eating and I look like I'm on a diet but the thing is I'm not hungry and junk is off my list the entire 8 weeks, I don't care if I can have it, I want to eat healthy for once and see the results. hard to believe it but I'm gonna have to force myself to add a bit if that's gonna hold me back. i'm off to work but will check in tonight.

Did I read somewhere on this thread that you also have to count the fats in eggs and such in your bad fats or is it only the exact stuff on her B list? |

Do you teach dancing? I want to take some ballroom dancing lessons for my daughter's wedding because her future father in law and future grandpa in law dance, and I know they would dance with me since I'm single and have no partner. Her fiance's grandma and grandpa were ballroom dancers and teachers in the 70's - 90's, but they live 2 hours away from me. I just don't know which dances to learn for a wedding.

Week 4, day 2
Hi All! Pretty much just wanted to say hello. I experimented with the one minute muffin tonight. Left out the cinnamon, put in a little salt and some cheese...yummy! Cooked it in a saucer-like bowl and split it for a hamburg bun (get very lean burger from meat packing place). If I remember, in the morning I'll play with it a little more. I like fast and quick! I have already premixed 2 cups of flax meal for the regular muffins, but I'd like to try it with maybe chopped turkey sausage and a little cheese. Grab and go!
![]() ![]() For exercise tonight, I ran around my lawn ...it's largish....then when it got darker and it's hunting season her, I ran around the house. No time before dark to get it done! Wendy

Today was a C day for me, Week 3 day 2 and here is what I fixed for dinner. It had Low-fat turkey smoked sausage, asparagus, yellow squash and my one-cup of broccoli, all stir-fried together. It was so delicious. I put a couple drops of Bragg's Liquid Aminos on a few pieces, but then ended up eating the rest without anything. It was really good. Again, I just cooked the veggies to al dente, not mushy. Yum Yum
I'll post it on Recipe thread. |

I have a question for the Cracker veterans
:Tomorrow is my carb up day. I read in Wendy's book (p.111,#3) that if you are not exercising, you should only do the last meal as a carb up meal. I would like to do this tomorrow because I'm pretty sedentary with healing the knee. How do you pattern the day for that? Thanks! |

Week 2 Day 2
I had a good day today. I wore a new skirt and felt awesome. Got my hair done this afternoon. I will have to post a picture. I went darker and shorter. I ate an omelet for breakfast, a sandwich and salad for lunch and 2 snacks and chicken and green beans for dinner. Tomorrow is my first B day. I am trying to decide if I want a baked potato or a sweet potato at lunch. I haven't had either in about a year and a half. I can't wait. ![]() I start back on my weight training tomorrow afternoon and I downloaded the first podcast for C25K to start on Thursday. I figure since I am starting in the middle of the week I will do week 1 on Thursday and Saturday and 3 days next week. I am enjoying this board. It is going to take me a while to get to know everyone and remember names. |

week three loss so far
Sarena
I lost 9lbs on week one and gained 3 week two so if you average it out I have lost 3lbs a week over the two weeks. I was freakin about the 3lbs gain but the girls assure me that it sometimes happens and to keep going the eight weeks So I am still here. Nina Quote:
