You know as I look at it myself- I am seeing that I just didn't have enough protein at my meals. Guess that is what my problem is. Bet I do tomorrow!
And- I am sooooooooooooooo afraid of gaining! These carbs are really scary ya'll to someone who has been low carbing for so long.
Thanks for all of the help on here.
Have a great night all!

Susi - YOU MUST EAT to LOSE FAT! If you eat at 530 you must eat by 930 and so on until 2 hours before you go to bed. I usually eat 5-6 meals everyday. Don't be afraid to eat. Remember you are slowly adding starches back to your diet. Just follow the rules and you will be fine!

Congrats Vicki Lynn on your blood pressure. I have successfully lowered my nightly dose of Lantus from 12 to 7 U with this WOE. I also take less of one of my two oral meds. To me, that is the most important thing - my health is improving!

Sarena - I started guessing with your first post that based on where you lived and Sarena vs Sara that SaraB might be Mom! We love her! And I am sure we will love you too!
Good job Trish! You had a tough day one and you made good decisions for yourself! The rest of the week should be a breeze!

Naomi, just keep on truckin' on. Life happens. If you let this mistake get in your way and say to heck with it, I can't do it, then you lose. Don't worry about the apple bar, just keep on doing what you should do![

Julie, we will all have you in our prayers tomorrow. You will be fine! Go to sleep with positive thoughts and God's love in your heart! Have fun knitting and enjoy watching that yarn become something! I crochet, but knitting is not in me! Love seeing something come together!

You guys get so far ahead of me it is hard to get caught up! Hope you all have a great day tomorrow!

Kelley - thanks for the advice. i will do what you and Alissa say since i trust you and i know you know what you are doing.

When i went into curves today, the manager said to me "Wow, you just keep getting slimmer everytime i see you". I guess i am getting used to pulling down my pants without undoing them now and i honestly haven't been thinking about my size as much. I do have a pair of 'goal' jeans but i might have picked too small of a pair since i still can't get them past my hips! (these are now the hips of a mom that had four 10lb and over babies in 8 years). i know i feel better and that is important to me. I think after 8 weeks, i am finally getting it! SCALES ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!

Just want to let the newbies know that i thought i would never get here, finished my first 8 weeks, and now i have done it. NSV! i am wanting more than ever now to keep going and see where it takes me . . . hopefully it will bring me to a whole new person . . . a whole new way of living . . . YES, I CAN DO IT!
Kate - I had those jeans too! Only 3 babies in 6 years - but my jeans would not go up my hips until after the full 8 weeks. I can now get them buttoned but they are a little too uncomfortable to wear - I'm so passed being uncomfortable for fashion now a days! It will happen!

I also checked out the site you gave me, and am going to do one of the programs! I did a 1/2 marathon 2 years ago, I would like to do another in the spring...this will get me in gear!!

Susi so glad you are here!! I agree, drink your water and add more protein, that will sustain you longer!

Kellie! I need to get on the new Callanetics thread - I've done it twice already this month that is after only 4 or 5 times in October!

I also did a 1/2 marathon a little over a year ago. I walked it as it was only 4 1/2 months after I had my daughter Emerson. I did it in 3 hours 15 mins. My girlfriend wants me to do another one with her so if I like this running stuff I might be up for another one.

4.5 pounds is a huge loss. Congratulations! I think you will see that your clothes start to fit you looser, that's what I have really seen.

Good morning everyone!

Julie~~I'm just reading through everything this morning. I'll be praying for you.

I've got a busy day today. My husband and I will be leaving today for our house in upstate NY, a 4.5 hour drive. We don't usually stop, but with me drinking water all day, I think I might need a pit stop. Going to pack something to eat so I don't screw up my "C" day. First thing I have to do before we leave is VOTE! Second is don't forget to take my CTFLD book!!

week 7 day 2

well here's what happened to me. yesterday I went to my moms. I've been doing 98% good, and I saw a reeces p-nut pumpkin. I ate 2 bites and a handful of candy corn. Last night just had chicken. This morning I woke up and I had woken up to go to the bathroom a couple of times and I just "felt" like I had lost weight and I weighed myself. I had lost 2.5 more pounds for a total of 15 in 6 weeks. I think the difference is that I didn't feel like I had blown it and start eating everything in sight. I will probably do a carb down today. and thats it. I am enormously excited. its true that this plan is very very forgiving, and b/c of that I'm even more committed to this WOE. Its absolutely incredible!!!! NOW i have to change my stats!!!

wendys crepes

Week 3 day 2

I tried the crepes this morning I added vanila and used stevia as my sugar subsitute (tastes better than splenda) The taste was good but the were way too dry. Any suggestions to moisten them up. Also I could'nt eat them all I ate some and brought the rest to work to finish them. I used a 1/2 cup oatmeal I will try 1/4 cup next time. Could we use some applesauce or is that a no no.

Lani -

I too had the battle with my kid's candy last night and lost. But I also started my TOM last night so I hoping to settle down and get back on track this morning. I am in my Second Round of the Cycle Week 8.

I am currently eating my EZ cinnamon raisin toast w/ PB and Banana and my Chocolate protein shake - how decadent! Yummy - that is one reason I love maintenance - I get to have fruit everyday!

apple sauce is a no-no! Definitely go for 1/4 cup of oats and use a tad of butter and you can use low sugar jam or sugar free maple syrup to moisten them up a bit. I love them with chocolate protein powder and banana extract - just like chocolate banana pancakes - YUMMY!

Congrats! That's fantastic! That's really a very decent loss...1/2 pound more than I did in TWO weeks

What kind of pup do you have? I have three adopted, a rott/dane mix, black lab mix and a Mastiff we just got last January that is also about 130'ish. She was only 109 and underweight when we got her from the pound. I adore them all but she's a huge huggy bear. I'm getting ready to do another training class so she can be a therapy dog

This recipe is from The Whole Foods Market Cookbook (love it!!!)

4 cups broccoli florets
2 med red peppers, seeded and thinly sliced
2 med green peppers, seeded and thinly sliced
1 large red onion, thinly sliced
1/8 cup olive oil
1/8 cup tamari
2 tsp dried Italian herbs
1/4 tsp ground pepper
pinch of salt
1 whole garlic, cloves separated and peeled
1 TBSP olive oil
4 plum tomatoes, quartered

Preheat oven to 400F.
Steam broccoli 2 min then chill in a bowl of ice water for another 2 min. Drain and dry on paper towels.

In a large bowl, place broccoli, red & green peppers, onion, olive oil, tamari, Italian herbs, pepper & salt. Toss to combine.

Place veggies in a baking pan and roast for 8-10 min until broccoli is tender yet firm.

In the meantime, toss garlic cloves with oil and roast them separately for 10 min (just on a separate rack) until golden and tender. Add tomato quarters to the broccoli pan and roast for additional 4 minutes until tomatoes begin to soften. Remove the veggies from the oven. Add roasted garlic and toss lightly.

Enjoy!!!

Per 1 cup serving:

Fat 5 g
saturated fat - 0.5 g

Sounds fabulous! I am going to have to look up that book!

I have also been very inspired by all of the people doing the running program. I have never ran in my life, but I always wanted to be able to do it. I went and paid my gym membership today so I can get back into my exercise.
I have never every 'got' running but am in week 6 of the program and love it now. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I'd rather sit on the couch and watch TV, and it's still hard sometimes, but I love how it makes me feel. It takes 5-10 mins to get warmed up then it actually gets easier for a bit then hard again right at the end for me. I figure that's about right for being challenging but not TOO challenging.

Congratulations! My husband and I both agree we've never done a plan that we love so much as this. (Believe me, I've drug him through a lot of them!) It works, yet is forgiving. How amazing is that?!

As for me....I'm actually wearing some pants that I usually don't wear because they are so tight it's inappropriate to wear them You know what I'm talking about. LOL! They fit perfectly now.

Little one is sick again. Not sure what's up with her as my family is lucky enough to hardly ever get sick - we're blessed with strong immune systems. But she has a truly nasty cough and her temp is holding steady since yesterday at about 100. Hubby took his turn home with her today. She's still acting crazy and wild but I'm watching her to make sure it doesn't turn into something worse.

Have a great day everyone!!

15 lbs in 6 weeks is awesome. KUTGW!

I am currently eating my EZ cinnamon raisin toast w/ PB and Banana and my Chocolate protein shake - how decadent! Yummy - that is one reason I love maintenance - I get to have fruit everyday!
Glad to hear that you hoped back on the wagon, it can be done. A little slip, but right back on track.

I miss fruit..... 6 more days.

It seems candy corns get the best of you. Pam glad to hear your feeling a change in your pants, just needed time. I'm excited to hear of the ladies losing 3 or 4 pounds even in week 3 so it just goes to show you never know what to expect. Keep plugging away and get a surprise.

I'm going to go plant some flowers and then hit the gym so I'll probably check in before I head to work tonight. Later.

Congrats, Dede! People like you and their achievements make me going! Thank you for sharing

Kelley, How often do you do callanetics? Is it getting easier for you? I try to do at least 20 min a day, sometimes 40.

Pam,

LOVE your pups!!! They are so adorable. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog. If I can figure out how to post a picture I would. I don't know how

And congrats on your pants fitting better!!!

Lani, great job on the loss

Kelly (carbaddict), How did you do last night?

GREAT JOB

I also just finished Week 1 and am in day 2 of week 2. I lost 4 pounds on week one, but as you I was doing LC before that some so think the same as you. My body already was used to not eating the carbs.

I mentioned the Baked Oatmeal - I have to look at my recipe and see if I can tweek it to fit in to this.

Will look at that tonight when I get home. And let you know.
