Julie,
I'm the place in the plan you are. Last night I tried the one-minute muffie. Not bad! I have it for snack this morning or afternoon. I probably should try it for the afternoon to see if it will get me through til supper without being hungry.

I have a 6in subway sandwhich (if I can remember to buy it on the way home) planned for tomorrow and pizza with the dh for supper!

week 12 day 2 trying to hang on! HELP.

Hi everyone.

HELP

I've been mopey because I can't seem to do this right lately! I am so worried I will regain my hard won 10lbs down!!! I don't think I will weigh myself until after my birthday next week. A week from tomorrow I will weigh in. Anyway, according to the calendar I should be getting my "monthly visitor" anyday now but I am so off, being 44 you know, that I never have a clue. When i feel all puffy, like now, it could be my 2 week warning! (Of course it could also be the sodium in all the food I've been eating...) I just take it a day at a time BUT I have been eating so much. Too much. And stress eating at that. Hoo boy.
If I stick to the plan the weight doesn't stick to me so I have to put an OP day under my belt today. Had an eating fest weekend and it spilled over into having too much food at every meal yesterday. I'm not craving I am just stuffing feelings down. Using food to avoid my work. Using food to hide out. Been eating to way past stuffed for three days. I have decided that whenever I get home this evening I will do the 1 mile WATP dvd I have. I need to do something to feel I am helping myself and not hurting myself! I just need a few words of encouragement today. I so don't want to lose the ground I've gained. I can't stop before I get below 250 can I? I have not been able to do that in over a year of trying! What's up with that? I have to let that 250 GO!
ugh.
SO frustrated.

I definitely want to hear sometime your story. I've become a prayer cynic unfortunately and am trying hard to overcome that feeling.

What's considered a winter squash? I bought a spaghetti squash and was planning on making that this week sometime with scallops?

Thank you! I used just a tablespoon last night in my broccoli slaw recipe. We'll see!

I'm skimming through because apparently my work is getting a little peeved at how much time we're all spending on the internet so won't be around as much as I had been last week. I wanted to say, though, that I showed a 4 pound weight loss this morning!! I was so surprised after it being absolutely level Monday morning that I did that get off, get back on thing just to make sure. LOL! I also worked out last night although I was totally feeling tired and it felt harder than usual. I kept reminding myself that it always seems hard at first then gets a little easier as I get warmed up or something. Maybe those natural endorphins? But did the elliptical rather than outside even though I'm doing the C25K because it was sleeting a bit. Just set it on 'fat burner' which has a lot of 'hills'.

Have a great day ladies and I will check back occasionally

Alissa, MaryMac and I had this discussion a few months ago. We both agreed that we weren't sure what the answer should be. She referred to old Atkins ways and knew it was a startchy veg. I thought the opposite, being that winter squashes weren't on the naughty carb list in Wendy's book. I've been eating canned pumpkin and spaghetti squash (is that a winter squash?) this whole plan with no impact, sooooo I guess it would have to be up to you to use it or not. I say eat the soup - it's a soup day down here! I made your cauliflower soup the other day - YUMMY!!!! XOXO!

Hi dear Onex
I am so sorry you are going through a rough patch
Your feelings are way too familiar to me. The good news is that you recognize them for what they are. When we are out of the fog and see that train coming it's easier to avoid it
Keep thinking about all hard work you put into losing those 10 pounds - keep up the good work. If you can - get out of the house or even just away from any "food source" when you have those cravings. If you are saying you are not hungry - you just ("JUST" ) need to say "no". You can do it - hey, you did week carb-deplete day, for Pete's sake! Now you can do anything!!! remember, just a little, tiny victory every time you avoid that train will make you so much stronger. And know - we all are here for you and we support you all the way!!! YOU CAN DO IT

Hi Pam,
CONGRATULATIONS on your success!!!!!!!!!
Way to go! Don't tell Allissa and Kelley but I bought a new scale last night - digital. It calculates everything - body fat, muscle mass, water, etc. (probably sends the info directly to the government files (along with eye color) ). Trouble is - I can't get it to work I think Allissa and Kelley rigged the scale industry

Hey, buddy, check in later - I enjoy your posts

good morning everyone well i made it through day 1 of wk 1. i feel sooo great cause i did not give in to any cravings. actually i really didn't crave anything---good sign--- my husband even refained from "feeding me" he loves to feed people and animals. i told hime to give my share to the dog. he was drinking a cup of hot chocolate and i asked if it was good and i could see him wanting to say "want a swig" but then he must have changed his mind b4the words got out. this is also a big change for him. he is so skinny and can eat ANYTHING>>> i gain 5 ponds watching him eat.
this morn i made the muffin. i added 1 egg white. it was pretty yummy but would taste alot better if it had some nuts and maybe some dried fruit in it.
i think i did a no no yesterday. i have some adkins shakes (only one i could find at the store i was at) i looked at them this morn and saw that they have soy protein in them (not good) i am going to the health food store to try and find the right kind today.my question is: can i finish up the ones i have? if i find the powder then i could rotate until the adkins ones are gone. will that be aproblem? so far i am loving this/real food/and stuff i like. it doesn't even feel like you are dieting. i know i know this is not a diet BUT A WAY OF LIFE you all have a great day and many congrats to the ones who are losing

It is AWSOME I love the predictability and flexibility.
I made up a calendar for the rest of the year. I know what day Thanksgiving, Christmas and some going out with friends are. I will be fully prepared

Glad you are here.

Week 1 Day 2

I made it though Day 1 and felt like I did good the first day. I won't say perfect because I think I had over a cup of broccoli last night and more lettuce at noon. Today I packed up all my food I need for working hours and I am all prepared for the day. I think I will have to start doing that in the evenings, there's a lot of food!! Seems weird to have all this food. I didn't have chicken to make this morning quick so I put some tuna on my salad for my protein. Still a little nervous about changing from the plan written in the book, but everyday is a new understanding and knowing what you can swap out or exchange.

Here's to another successful day!!!

Carla, you're still OP - you can have unlimited broc and lettuce DURING meals on week one - I had about an extra half cup of broc myself last night, and wendy did say LARGE salad.... winkwink.

this morn i made the muffin. i added 1 egg white. it was pretty yummy but would taste alot better if it had some nuts and maybe some dried fruit in it.
i think i did a no no yesterday. i have some adkins shakes (only one i could find at the store i was at) i looked at them this morn and saw that they have soy protein in them (not good) i am going to the health food store to try and find the right kind today.my question is: can i finish up the ones i have? if i find the powder then i could rotate until the adkins ones are gone. will that be aproblem? so far i am loving this/real food/and stuff i like. it doesn't even feel like you are dieting. i know i know this is not a diet BUT A WAY OF LIFE you all have a great day and many congrats to the ones who are losing
Darn, I had a whole page in reply to your post and my stinking computer kicked me offline - UGH!!!!

Summarizing what I typed before:
Atkins shakes are fine! I use them and love them - use them as a quick grab and go meal when you're pressed for time. Just limit your soy intake, Wendy is not a fan and neither am I.

One minute muffins: I use Kate's recipe - 2T milled falx, 1 egg, Splenda and cinnamon. I did add banana extract and nutmeg for a little extra flavor. When it was cooked, I poured 1T half and half in the mug - Yummy!!

My hubby and I were codependant junk food eaters. Now he's adjusted to my WOE and is so supportive!!! Your hubby sounds like he'll be just as helpful for you. Keep it up - your firlst week will be your worst, but it is SOOOO worth it!!

Week 3 Day 2

Goodmorning!!
Well I survived the night with no food. I had 3 sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello and a cup of chicken broth. I went and swallowed the capsule camera which was the size of a horse PILL!! I have this big belt with electrodes all over my stomach and I have to wear until 4:30 this afternoon. I can have something to drink at 11:00 and then I can have lunch at 1:00. Today was suppose to be my carb down day but I think I will do it again tomorrow because I want my D day to be on Thursday anyway so I guess I will make the switch now. So then how should I eat tonight like a baseline?

Oh I walked for one hour last night and now my hip feels out of place! I'm getting old.

Kim

Hey Rhonda!! Mom got back yesterday and she's exhausted! She gave a brief summary of her trip which included snorkeling in Cozumel! She's been dying to do that forever and with her new figure, I know she strutted her stuff in her new bathing suit LOL!!! It's kind of hard to look sexy with flippers on though, but I know she did her best!!! I'm sure she'll be back on here whenever she gets back to work. I'm curious to see how she did on plan too! My hubby went back to work this morning, so here I sit - it's too cold for me to go outside. We freeze down here if the temps drop below 50 and this morning it was 35!!! I'm such a wimp

Seems weird to have all this food. I didn't have chicken to make this morning quick so I put some tuna on my salad for my protein. Still a little nervous about changing from the plan written in the book, but everyday is a new understanding and knowing what you can swap out or exchange.

Here's to another successful day!!!

don't worry i DIDN'T i know these girls sound like they mean business. i am just thrilled that this seems so easy. everyone says week 1 is the worst. maybe not for me cause like i said b4 i always ate healthy just too much. when should i start exersising? i do some now ride a stationery bike bcause i had a knee replacement and have to keep my knee from tightning up. maybe i should vary it (do at different times) seems like i do it at the same time every day

Morning to everyone. I ditto everything you're saying, Vicki Lynn. My hubby is the same way. His whole family is always wanting to feed you when you visit. I think it's in their genes, they're Italian. And he doesn't gain weight!

I'm going to try the muffins this morning too. I'll check back on the board later to see if anyone answers your questions about the Adkins Shakes because I have a few left also. I thought I had read that they are OK to use. I already have the EAS protein powder.

I'll be weighing myself on Wednesday, I can't believe I held out that long. I hear it calling to me. I haven't even used my half bath downstairs because the scale monster is in there.

I love all the support and ideas that everyone has posted. This is the best group and plan ever!!

[COLOR="SeaGreen"]Hi everyone! Hopefully the third time is the charm! I had a bad week with my dd -15 last week and never completed my carb down week. We are working with a homeopathic/md she reacted to some of the new supplemens we added in and were dealing with some tough behavior issues. I could go on and on but....

I did follow a low carb of my own but had some fruit with my veggies and protein. Then on Sun. I added in some junk and it continued yesterday. So for the experts out there here is what I was thinking- 2 carb deplete days/2carb down/carb up/baseline-then week three starts Monday.

I also considered 4 carb deplete but not sure what to do on Sat./Sun. I thought a carb deplete may be too much but I will take the advice of the very wise ladies here.

I also looked at the menu thread and realized when I was on plan I was not eating enough. I my diet history is restrict/binge and I still count darn calories and points in my head. I need to trust this program as Wendy has done all the research for me. I really need to get out of mu own way.

I have been reading all the posts and you guys are amazing. I really want this to work and it has for so many on these boards. I saw the Oprah thing and was like OMG-love Oprah!!!

Welcome to all the newbies! Thanks for all the great support here!!

Vicki,
Wendy suggests re-starting your exercise routine in week 2. I don't remember where it is in the book, but she says that during week 1 your body has a lot to deal with so leave out your exercise during this week. I personally kept walking because I have THE DOG and he demands walking or else. Good luck!
