I've been browsing several of the CFLC boards and have found plenty of valuable info there. I'll keep coming back.
I think I'll take another posters advice and measure my success by the fit of my jeans. (that are too tight right now!)

Trisha and did i scare you??? I'm a little rigid when it comes to the scale thing, but it is because you will see your body shrink and get lean because you will lose fat NOT water weight and muscle like so many other diets. Make sure you get the book because the magazine doesn't do this WOE justice! Be sure to ask any and all questions you may have

Thanks, Jackie, it's so good to be missed
I had a dentist app-t in the morning and that sort of left me a bit out for the rest of the day. Just kind of groggy - nothing more (I am not complaining about anything after hearing what some of our friends had to go thru!!!)

We don't have kids (either yet or never - depends on my attitude). I asked my husband if we can avoid the temptations and NOT have any candy lying around the house. I didn't eat a single one . We went out to dinner and then on to see a movie.

I got mine at Kohl's last year the day after Thanksgiving. It was on sale with $10/rebate. You may want to check sales that day. Mine sat in the box for probably 6 months, I debated about returning it. I use it all the time now. I need to find out if I can get replacement rings... I've lost 2 of the 4. Either the dishwasher monster has them or my kids thought they were toys and they are hiding in their room.

They are SUPER easy to clean and I mix up alot of things in it. I wished I'd had this when I was making babyfood.

Oh, I forgot! I might not be able to make that Wednesday. It's the day after my surgery and I don't know how long I'll be able to stand in the kitchen to cook. I might just have to use my leftover lasagne and lamb stew for meals. I'll try the pizza Saturday next week.
I'm sure everything will go smoothly but will keep you in my prayers! I like WW stuff better too, but with Pizza I'm a thin crust girl and i haven't found WW thin crust that I like.

Hey Kelly
How are you doing? Why was your carb up disappointing?
I did OK yesterday. My husband and I went out for dinner last night to an Italian restaurant. I was soooooo good - had their signature salad (lettuce, bacon pieces, crumbles of blue cheese, ton of garlic) w/shrimp and broccoli on the side (broccoli looked like an oak tree in my yard - it was HUGE!!!). I had club soda to drink and refused any bread (DH did the same out of solidarity)

Today is my first carb up. We are having dinner at our friends house. The girl is a professional cook. She asked me what we'd like to eat and I said anything should be great but please not be offended if I don't have any dessert and wine. So I am pretty much set up to behave

I have to say - it was a bit scary to eat out last night but I was amazed how easy for me it was to make a good choice and just stick to it. I am a bit worried about tonight - just hope I don't lose it and say, "Well, just one glass of wine" (and I know it will never be "just one").

I hope your day is good, my buddy

Work was semi busy in the morning and I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast. By the time I ran my errands and got Chipotle for lunch and ate it was nearly 2pm. WAY too long without food. Chipotle was WONDERFUL. I didn't eat the whole bowl, I did stop when I was full. So that was a NSV for sure.

We were going with friends trick or treating, I suggested one of the local churches, they wanted to go door to door. DH was going to meet us out after work. He ended up getting out of work 3 hours later than normal. I had 2 OVER sugared but HUNGRY for real food, OVER tired, EXTREMELY cranky kids walking around a neighborhood I didn't know. The houses were far apart, no sidewalks, crazy drivers FLYING down the street, and every 8-10 houses had it's light on. There was alot of walking with those same kids. grrr.... I'm never going to that neighborhood again.

Then for dinner, we'd been planning to go to steak and shake. I wanted their fries and milkshake with dinner soooo badly. Drooling about it for a week. It gave me motivation all week not to cheat. On the way there, our friends thought it was getting to late to drive there (it was about 15 minutes in the opposite direction from home), they wanted to go towards home to find food. Now I've got tired, cranky, hungry kids whining about not getting milkshakes with dinner. We went to IHOP, but the manager said he couldn't seat 11 of us together and we'd have to split up. Then they decided on Denny's, in the parking lot they said they were just going home. GRRRR.... We ended up eating at Denny's by ourselves. I'm not a fan of Denny's. If I'd known they were going to bail on us, we'd have gone to S&S ourselves.

Sorry this got long and sounds trivial written out, it was just a disappointing carb up day. Here's to a new week...

WOOHOO to you for eating out. It's so hard to think about, but I figure in a boring sense usually get a salad and chicken no matter where we go and if I find something more exciting all the better. There are sooo many temptations in an italian restaurant. Good for you for making it thru. Seeing that light at the end of the tunnel helps.

Hope dinner tonight is wonderful too. Can't wait to hear all about it.

We are getting ready to run some errands and then to the park. Have a good day too, chat with you soon.

It was a NSV last night, my kids were getting candy and even ate a lollipop or 2. The smell of the sugar and the looks of the candy wasnt' enticing at all. I think I am driven by salty/crunchy things more than sweets. And I'm noticing that 1 splenda will sweeten up a glass of tea nicely rather than 2.

I'll take the small victories, one at a time.

Bet you could go to the website and order the rings for the magic bullet. My husband does that for everything. Even things you wouldn't think you could do it for. Glad he's like that cuz I'd probably just throw stuff out and buy them again,ha!

hey all - wish me luck - today is my first 5mile day in exactly 6 years. I'm a little nervous about the distance (with my leg and all), but I'm going to do it.

I'm headed out now to buy new running shoes... never hurts to hedge your bets.

Quick Tip: put a little baking powder into the Wendy's crepes. Makes all the difference in the world.

For Carb Deplete, I made 'pancakes' using pea protein isolate (1 scoop), eggs and baking powder. Tasted just like pancakes and didn't have that gummy/tough texture...

Back in my old week 2/3 days (my first go round) I did this with the Wendy's Crepes and it's a lifesaver.

:-)

Everyone have a great day. I'm going to go out and do a little shopping, myself. Going to see if I can find solar powered window candles for Christmas. I found them online but I need to see them in person before I buy.

For all the 2 week day 6ers, I hope you have a great carb up (healthy) day!

Hi,

Does anyone have a good broccoli soup recipe. We will have snow here soon and some nice hot soup for lunch would be good.

I Val,

I make a broccoli pureed soup...I just steam (until squishy soft ) about 2-3 cups of broccoli, add about 12 oz water and 2 veggie bouillon cubes, 1/4 onion and 1/2 garlic clove...and puree (I have a cuisinart blend stick I swear by)...then add more water, pepper, and I always add a dash (or two) of parmesan cheese...yum...I like mine really thick! Make sure to get your protein in with this soup! I sometimes add chopped (Or I puree it with the rest of the ingredients) chicken breast.

Have a wonderful day and to our little (but growing ) group!

Hi Ladies!

I'm just sitting with my coffee enjoying a relatively relaxing and quiet morning Now that I have some time to catch up, it seems that all issues have been covered and I'm just going to say GREAT JOB LADIES!

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments about my story. I learned that Mr. Abe Linclon was so right in his famous statement..."Most folks are as happy as they make themselves up to be". It is always helpful for me to be mindful of the notion that no matter how difficult I think my circumstances may be...there are those out there who have it far worse and are surviving and thriving in their lives...THRIVING ...so I press on, take my moment to fuss then move along...smiling

Happy November Ladies!! WOW NOVEMBER!!!

Hi Connie,

I am a bit stuck on breakfast ideas. I am getting sick of the scrambles egg whites this week. I am very limited in my starch because I can not get EZ bread here so it is either oatmeal, rice or potatoes for breakfast. I am the only one that eats turkey bacon in my house so if I buy it, I have to plan my meals to eat it. Maybe I can have scrambled eggs and rice for breakfast one morning, that might me good. Any other ideas?

I can spray the potatoes with Pam and roast them in my Nuwave oven until they are brown and crispy without using a lot of fat, does that sound all right? I have one cheese string a day and if I have eggs, I use about 2 tbsp of shredded cheese. Is that much cheese in one day too much? For my broccoli, I dip it in a scant amount of thinned Ranch dressing. I am a little leary of cutting my fat too much because I had a bad experience on KK from doing that. In week two it says that I can have two serving of fat, do you guys stick to that or cut that down further?

I have another question, are there any KK survivors here who stalled for a long time after leaving KK but are now losing pounds or inches on this plan? That is where I am coming from and I have tried so many things to break my stall but nothing else seems to work. I know that in time I will see if this works for me but I would love to know about the experience of others in the same boat as me.

Hi Val
How about just adding a few egg variations? I have scrambled one day, mushroom and spinach omelet (or any other omelet) another day, deviled eggs next day...
If you don't have EZ bread, do you think there's another brand of milled bread available? Did you check your local store freezer section - that's where they usually have it?
Oh, you can also do some "fried rice" for breakfast (f course, the healthy variation)

Week 1 Day 6

Hello Everyone -

Question - as you can see I am in week 1 on day 6.. question is that if you have something that is not on the acceptable list but still don't go over 20 gms of carbs is it ok to keep going or do you repeat the same week starting on monday.

All these inspirational stories are wonderful and show the power of Faith. I dont like to run, but you even have me thinking about starting to try it.

I did get on the scale this morning, it wasn't nice to me, but I just disregarded it and said can't believe you. I had already drank lots of water and had breakfast then weighed. I think I should put my scale in the barn. On the up side I didn't believe it.
