Renee I thought 20 minutes was 2 miles. Are you sure you only ran one mile? You may be cheating yourself. The podcast says 20 minutes or 2 miles.

Tam - it obviously hasn't impacted Kelley's weight loss and health! I don't believe it has impacted mine.

I bet its pretty. That is what I really miss especially around the holidays here in Florida. But it was in the high 30's low 40's last night here and we had all our windows open so it was pretty cold when I got up this morning. Didn't expect it to go that low. But it is beautiful outside now in the high 60's maybe low 70's.Kim |

I'm glad I made you happy.
I really respect your knowledge and expertise, and I'm so grateful for your support. I don't think I'd be making this progress without your support system! I couldn't wait to get home from school today to see how everyone is doing. I'm REALLY looking forward to dinner out tonight, too. I rarely eat out, and this will be fun. I looked up the restaurant's menu online and made some mental selections. Now I'm hungry for them! Oh, well....only 2 hours away!Julie (And I promise I won't weigh tomorrow! |
Three pages of dialog! Oh my...I have to catch up!!
EVERYBODY!!!!!Juile, Lovely Julie, don't make me post my lecture on the dastardly scale again ![]() Loose pants club!! That is what we are...I would rather have loose pants and SEE results in my physical form than watch the scale go down and not get any REAL results in the form of...well...in the form of my FORM! ![]() Glad your hanging up your scale...better yet...take the battery out!! ![]() p.s. My Americano's are 3 shots of espresso that is what I get for having three little ones around!THREE shots - one for each little blessing! I can only drink decaf, so I just drink them for the taste. I can't take the battery out yet. That will be my next big step to ignoring the scale. I'll get there, but in small steps. Now my favorite pants are starting to loosen, and I think when I drop down to the next few sizes, I'll have them altered so I can still wear them. I'll wait til I'm in a 10 again (long wait!!!!) They are a pair of Ralph Laurens I bought on the sale rack at Macy's for $10! I thought the price was wrong, but it wasn't! Thanks so much for your support and expertise. I wouldn't be making this progress without you and this support system!Julie |

Hi Alissa, Kelley, Renee, Connie, Tam and everyone else.
It's 12:44 on the West Coast and I just finished reading all the posts. I stopped at 5 p.m. yesterday, and there were 5 pages this morning. Wow. Of course I have to read in between doing work, but still a lot of movement here. I am glad everyone is having success with the program and enjoying discovering this new WOE. I am thinking of changing my high carb and cheat day to Friday and Saturday too. Maintenance is difficult because you miss your carb up Wednesday (Wine!!!!! ) Okay. Confession, although I am on Week 14? starting to lose track, I still want the scale to show a weight loss. Still scared this WOE won't work for me. If my waist measurement goes up 1/2 an inch, not sure if I am bloated or what. I definitely wish I was as self-assured as you Kelley and Alissa. Sara |

I'm sorry to ask another minute muffin question, but I get that it's a good oil and the protein is a obviously just that...so on a baseline day, do you add something else for breakfast to get your clean carb?

You can change your carb up day to one that suits your needs. so if friday is your big day go for it.
I had fun in the whole foods store. we even bought pumkins to sit around for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Last year we had a pumpking that lasted into middle of summer. It amazed us all. I bought different ez breads and pitas and english muffins. I'm replacing breads we all eat. Kids aren't sure they like a healthy mom they can see where this is leading. I also bought lots of different types of cheese from the deli. they cost a lot but I told my daughter when you can only use an ounce here an there or sprinkle it's nice to indulge in a variety. they can be small as I will only use a little at a time. My son says they are a mouthful for him. He's banned from eating the special ones as he has to learn to appreciate the value and how much a little goes a long way. ![]() both kids did say they are proud of me still going strong and they can see the difference. also my daughter likes to read over my shoulder and see who's doing what. It's nice to hear from those who haven't been on awhile and those just stopping by to check. Heading to work and trying to figure out what I want my to go crazy meals to be. I look at food now and wonder how healthy is it? ![]() |

I think I love you for sharing this! Is it two tortillas for a serving like the EZ bread?Quote:
I seriously get teary-eyed I get so excited over this WOE. I've never been so pleased with my 'diet' -- ever! Being able to enjoy it so much, have it be absolutely 'do-able' and get results?! I will continue this regardless because it FEELS good and HOT DAMN if I actually get to a weight I haven't seen since before my three children (the oldest of which is 16!!) I just hope that I can inspire my 16 yr old daughter to do it. She's VERY picky but I think she could learn to love veggies and this way of eatting too. She's overweight and has diabetes in her family tree so it concerns me. I'm glad she's happy with herself, but she's 5'0 flat and about 160. I want her to learn how to eat before she goes to college. She's brilliant, she can do it if I can! Pam |

Hi Pam. Sorry but only 1 tortilla is equal to the serving. One EZ tortillas has double the calories, etc of 1 slice of EZ Bread. They are large though, so that's a plus.

So last two meals could be pasta and/or a sub or pizza. Why do we do this is it to make the body think that it is not starving for carbs. Confirming no fruit, milk or yougurt until after week three. Nina |

week 3 day 3
Hey guys! What I can't figure out is how in the heck do you all work and keep up with all these posts! It's getting very difficult to come home from work and catch up on all the pages before I have to start dinner and do other various household chores. I feel like I'm a bad Cracker! ha!
I did want to report that I measured,(not weighed),today and am happy to say that I've lost 1&1/2" around my bust and 2" from my waist. YEA! Didn't measure any of the other parts yet. I am curious about something. On Carb up days it mentions to control the fats yet you can have things like ice cream, pizza etc. That doesn't sound like controlling your fats. What exactly does it mean? dede |

Read about your "nightmare". I also had a dream about messing up the program. I was pouring sugary hot chocolate powder into my mouth. Weird! Don't even like instant hot chocolate. Ya think we might be obsessed a little with cracking the code?! hehe dede

Sorry, Dede, that was not me. I did read the post and it sounded really good. I would like to try the muffin too, but I noticed some put in baking powder and others don't. You can search within this thread at the top of the board. Hope that helps.

Renee's Mom here, back from the cruise. I haven't checked my weight since coming home and I am not until next week. I really didn't go "overboard" eating. Ate in the dining room, so portions were smaller, rather than eating at the buffet. I did have dessert every night, but probably walked it off. Snorkeling was awesome and yes I didn't even mind putting on the dreaded bathing suit. Now back to starting with carb down days and start week 3, second round on Monday. I would not have been able to keep up with all the activities on the cruise had I not lost the 13 lbs. What a difference it made.
So to all you newbies, stick to it, you can do it. It's worth the effort. Julie D |
