This gives me hope. I started it about 2 months ago. I ended up getting sick and having major bouts of heartburn/indigestion constantly and I've had a hard time getting back to it. This gives me hope that I CAN get past the minute marks.

Keep up the great work girls.

Thank you Renee. I'll ignore the scale. I did take all my measurements prior to starting because I know that is more important than the weight. I'll come back to the board later and be inspried again. You gals are too funny. Everyone is very positive and upbeat. I love that!

If you are carb sensitive you might want to avoid this but I remember way back in the beginning someone asking about brunch and having both carbs together and got the go ahead either from Jerri or Wendy

Just let me tell you and KELLEY can back me up. I, seriously, wanted to bag the program at 3/4 weeks because I still ONLY showed the 10# loss from week one. I was bouncing up and down in the weight area and was so annoyed. I tracked all my calories and was regularly under 1500...closer to 1300 on most days (bear in mind that I burn upwards of 600 calories a day with cardio and weights near 6 times a week). I was so frustrated, I asked Kelley for some help (knowing her success on this program and high exercise similar to my own) and she actually recommended I eat MORE! So, I started eating more and bagged tracking all my calories (I had been using sparkpeople). I started losing again...just a little bit at a time...but losing...then gaining...then I shrank so much I was floored...I was literally losing my pants while running at my gym. Now, after my fit test...yes down nicely 15# (see only 5 more that after that first week) and the inches down...those are the numbers that floor me. 16.5 inches. You see the scale is only ONE measure of progress...there are so many more things we could look at to gauge progress. I call them Non-Scale Victories (NSVs). Making a better food choice, clothes fitting looser, getting a compliment, noticing yourself in the mirror different, clothes getting too big...on and on...so PLEASE keep making the mental shift AWAY from the scale.

Kelley got me to look beyond the scale (ok, I had to do it myself, she just helped get me to realize it ), even though I knew my body was shrinking...dang it the scale was not cooperating. It will, it will, give it time and keep doing the program...you WILL loose and you WILL shrink when you work the program. If we remind you all to skip the weighing and look to other measures of success it is because we have been there and know that success will happen you just need to give it time.

OK...lecture over...I only do it cause I care about y'all

~Alissa
What an AWESOME lecture... I need to remember this. Thanks

We can have fruit just not every day and not w/out measure. I used to have grapes just about every day by a pound!!! Not a good thing. I am not sure what's the deal with milk (I can't drink it anyway) but, as someone pointed out, there's a mention of ice-cream on carb-up days so I would think that on baseline you can have some milk.

Gerri, if you stop by - please clarify this one for us!!!

Main thing is this is the least restrictive program I've ever heard of or been on. If not this one, then what? AND, you have all of us here to help you thru!!! If you made a mistake, the beauty of this program is that you can fix it and move on! Stay with us, Nina!

Hey guys, Jerri did clarify this way back in July - Milk is ok for carb up days only. You can have your cereal and milk as your starch for breakfast on those days. I remember because many people raved about having a bowl of cereal like they were eating ice cream

You can toatlly get back on the program! I swear to you - I could not run 30 seconds!!! I was completely out of breath!!! Just build up ypur run times by about 10-15 seconds each cycle. You'll start to see your "recovery" time gets shorter and shorter and before you know it, your jog time is longer than your walk time. Know what works for you. I couldn't follow the C25K chart when I first started. I wasn't even able to start with the week 1 guidelines in the chart!

I mean like moving everything out of the closets, painting them, then installing new racks and putting everything back that I'm keeping. My husband will be painting all the rooms this winter and at least that part will be done. I guess I should have taken the time to take a walk and do some strength exercises.

I stopped writing down what I was eating on Sunday and going to the Football game that day messed me up too. I had a protein drink when I got there and later a piece of grilled chicken w/o the roll, condiments, etc. It will be easier the next game because I will plan and take something I CAN eat!

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed but know I need to move my body more this week and journal my food intake.

Hopefully, I don't have to start week 2 again!! Any thoughts on that??

Linda - you are officially on my voodoo scale list! What are you talking about doing week 2 over? What for? You didn't do anything wrong. You have got to quit beating yourself up. I think it is mental block you are having.

Just try and get more exercise, drink your water, and use the menu thread to track your food intake and see what others are eating! Plus STAY AWAY FROM YOUR SCALE

Week 3 Day 3 minus 12lbs

good morning!

Did I have some catching up to do, can't leave this site for a minute! I like seeing the questions then strolling down and seeing if my answers would have been the same. Most of the time. so getting the hang of it.

I loved the chicken chili receipe. I told my daughter I was making chili tonight It's D day but might as well stick with the chicken and can have it with my ez bread.

I was looking for more stuff by ez and could only find cereal. they had several varieties. so looking forward to that. My class last night surprised me with another cake, this will happen all week till I get through them all. But getting good at the slight of hand. I cut the cake and made them large pieces. none left for me and went an washed my hands so the icing wouldn't tempt me. everybody happy.

Wanna know what motivated me even more last night?????????

I went down a pants size! I saw some pants hanging in my closet that wouldn't even go over my big butt and thought well, hell let's see how much further I need to go. they slipped right up and zipped no problem. I was a proud peacock let me tell you. Thought about sleeping in them. I'm going through my whole closet to see what else does and getting rid of the ones I started this with. Well maybe save one pair for the Oprah show...

Ladies run to your closets you might be there already for the next size if not you can see how close you are. I have arrands to run but be back later.

This program works , by new years we are gonna be looking good!

Hello... GOOD MORNING! I haven't had breakfast yet. I am not one to eat when I first get up. Breakfast is usually around 10am and I eat while I have my first conference call. (the benefits of telecommuting)

It did dawn on me about 15 minutes ago that today is a B day and I can have cinnamon raisin french toast. WOOHOO! That sounds heavenly.

How did you do yesterday?

We ended up going to my favorite italian restaurant after open house last night. I was dying... but I passed on the bread and ended up ordering a grilled chicken breast over a bed of spinach with a side of steamed veggies rather than pasta. We go there often and love the staff, so the manager brings out our food and asks, "who had the healthy plate" I was pleased that I'd made the right choice. It was REALLLY good. I ate about 1/2 of it and got the rest to go. Tonight is biblestudy so I'll feed the kids before I go and have leftovers when I get back. WOOHOO!

One thing that shocked me, they have awesome iced tea. The best. In the past I'd put 2 splendas in one glass. So I do the same last night and it was terribly sweet, I ended up sipping about 1/2 of it and asked for a refill, it was perfect then. It was shocking how sweet something is when you haven't had sugar/sweets in a while. I thought it was a good sign that I may not over do it on Friday (my carb up day).

caprese - LOVE IT - I had my love affair with brie and french bread last weekend. Waiting for the wine was the hardest part for me. I love my wine on my carb up days

My favorite is AM/PM work out. Do you, girls, have that one? It's only 20 min in the morning and then 20 Min in the evening. I like it because it's a mix of various exercises so your whole body gets a work out in 20 min. Did it now for two days and can barely walk today Everything looks so "easy" but it's not

Thank you, ladies, for reminding me about this great workout!!!
I think I'm going to get that one next. Sometimes I want to stretch because I'm stiff but don't want to do the full hour tape. Thanks for reminding me about that one! Great Job starting that exercise program.

AWESOME JOB! WOOHOO! I have a HUGE laundry pile and I pulled out a clean pair of capris from my closet on Monday that i don't think I've worn in about 3-4 years..... They fit and I had room in them. it was sooooo exhilerating (sp?). WOOHOO!

I need to go find my "skinny" jeans. My DH bought me a pair of Green Rockies in 1996 (we used to go country dancing all the time - that's how we met). I was able to get into them 6 years ago when I did atkins. I think I tried them on, got them zipped, couldn't barely breathe and that was it. I'd love to get into my green rockies again... sounds like it is truely an attainable goal.

You'll start to see your "recovery" time gets shorter and shorter and before you know it, your jog time is longer than your walk time. Know what works for you. I couldn't follow the C25K chart when I first started. I wasn't even able to start with the week 1 guidelines in the chart!

So agree - I was ready to give up in week 2 and just kept at it and I actually enjoyed my last run! I've been doing an extra days rest in between and that seems to have helped me a lot.
