Hey there Kim, my moms body couldn't make iron or hold iron, they told her one time if she had lost all that blood at once she wouldn't be here...thank-god she is here. She was taking iron pills cooking with iron skillets, 4 hour blood transfusions and had to get them every 3-4 months. They did every kind of test possible and couldn't find anything wrong with. They would blow her viens and cause hematomas(huge ones) then she went in for a port in her chest for easier transfusion. She would get to the point that she couldn't walk without holding on to something and getting dizzy, she looked gray all the time. Her insurance changed and she had to go to a different doctor, he put her on smalller doses closer together and it finally took and she is all better.

I hope they can find something or figure things out. Our bodies do weird things....good luck!!!

Visit the excercise board to get more details in the program as well as any excercise tips/questions you might have. Alissa gave me some good ponters on breathing excercises for my jogging. I'm usually there once a week or so. Head over there

Renee,
I am in week 1 day 2 - can I have that one minute muffin or should I leave it for week 2 (3,4...)? Also, how many carbs? Thank you in advance.

I am sorry I am so late with the Zuchinni Chips recipe. Yes, it is chips, not fries. It is on page 253 in the book. I am going to add my brocoli to mine tonight. I just went and bought 2 more zuchinni so I can have it again tonight.

For those who don't have the book:
2 Lg. Zuychinni
1 T. extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Preheat oven to 400. Spray baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Slice zuchinni's 1/8" thick. Place slices in a lg. bowl, and toss with olive oil, salt, and garlic powder. Arrange on a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake, turning often for 25 mins. Reduce temperature to 300, and bake until spoltchy, brown, and crispy, 10 to 15 mins. Place on a paper towel, and let cool.

Kelly, thank you for clearing up the extra carb delete day!! I did it last week, and I will not do it this week after my carb up day tomorrow!!

I was extremely out of breath which I new I would be and the top of my feet were burning. So I don't think I was running right. But I will try again on Wed. I can't imagine ever jogging for 5 min.
Also tried the oatmeal again this morning but with the strawberry atkins shake and it was very good. Then I finished off the shake but was very full.

I made shrimp last night (hope we can have that). I melted 1 teaspoon butter with half a clove of garlic and added 6 0z shrimp then put it over my steamed asparagus and my broccoli and had a side of cucumbers and it was very tasty.

Kim
Congratulations on the c25k...I think you did GREAT!!!! Workout 2 will probably go the same...but by w1d3 you will probably notice you are already stronger!!!!! So go girl...you are doing just fine!!!

Glad the oats were better for you this am...I am planning to try the strawberry shake on them too.

Shrimp sounds delicious...I haven't had any shrimp for the WOE yet...gotta try it.

Sounds like you are doing great, KUTGW!!!

It is so worth the extra money to me. I also do the Atkins, Slimfast, and EAS premade shakes - Atkins is my favorite - again the pricey one of the bunch
Thanks for the thoughts, I've tried atkins and slimfast, but couldn't get past the taste. I've also tried the Isopure 0carb vanilla and it's good too, but pricey and in huge quantities. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'll have to go back and look them up, the price was mid $30s for a huge container, but maybe the price per serving is less and therefore better value for the $$$.

Oh, this is so sad, and how out of shape I am...I thought the 1 mile in 4 weeks was walking....I can't even imagine running! I do have a plan for interval walking I want to do though. Right now I just walk down my road and back but need to work on increasing the distance! I'm eating out for supper for the first time since being a cracker. I'm hoping to find a salad with grilled chicken...had my broccoli this noon so don't have to worry about that. If I can't find what I want for a salad, I'll just buy a dinner salad and a grilled chicken breast and put part of it on there myself...I have a meeting tonight and wouldn't get home until almost 10...the last two weeks I did that I just was too tired to eat...I get up at 4:30 a.m. so would have eaten and gone right to bed, that's not a good idea! Don't know why I didn't think of stopping somewhere to get a salad on the way before....guess I'm a slow learner! Ha!

You can make fries out of parsnips too, but I've never tried them with garlic powder. One thing though, I would think parsnips are as carby as carrots so I wouldn't eat them unless it is a carb up day, cheat day or high carb day. I love fried parsnips though..

Hi Kelly
Yes, I am also on week 1 day 2. Doing fine so far. I love my protein shakes and they get me from meal to meal famously. I really want to try a one minute muffin but will wait until someone with more experience gives me the green light. Sounds very tasty. Good luck, Kelly

Had my other slice of bread, I'm happy! Making a big pot of chicken vegetable soup so will have a cup a day for one of my meals and it will cover everything. My kids love this so will have to get my next 3 servings and hide them for me.

Yup, we go to Jax once a week on Saturday, but they have terrific salads so I'm not worried. You and hubby take up dancing, you can count it as exercise. So many people are here doing just that. They hate gyms and we do work you out. Very social, extremely fun! Go to SSQQ Dance Studio to see class list. Of course any with my name are the "best"!

I have my Crack the Code book and a Calorie/Carb cook book and go through these a lot figuring what my meal will be counted as. It helps.

How I got to an hour a day walking? Slowly. I would walk out my door, when I started feeling it I would turn around and have the same distance back. Next time I would push for a end of the block of where I was tired. Before you know it your looking at the scenery and realize you've gone farther than you expected, and half to get back. Sometimes my daughter and I would sit on the curb so I could get my breath back and home we'd go. Like this diet, one-day-at-a-time.

Pat - I have class on Thursdays and don't get home until around 930 usually. I always stop on the way to grab a salad from chikfila or mcds. I just posted the 4 weeks to 1 mile and 4 weeks to 2 miles.

For week oners - go for the full fat and enjoy

Week 2 - go for lowfat or make your own. I make my own out of EVOO and champagne or white wine vinegar or sometimes balsamic, garlic, dijon mustard and salt and pepper to taste.

Kelley,
Can I have a one minute muffin while on week 1? If so, do you have any idea what's the carb count on that one? Thank you.

Ha!

From the looks of the ingredients from Kate's recipe it looks like you can. Just make sure to count your 3 carbs for the muffin. Alissa wrote that 4TBS has 6 Net Carbs so I just halved it. Enjoy!

HI Dear Kelley!! I am so glad you are feeling better!! We don't get much time to chat now-a-days! I posted the glycogen discussion on the FAQ thread...hopefully we can direct people there for some answers ALSO...GREAT SUGGESTION on posting a disclaimer of sorts on the continueation of a deplete week in the opening. I wonder if we need to rework the opening to account for the increase in interest and simplify the link backs? I would thing a link back to this thread with directions to scroll down for additional weeks may help? OR adding the links from past weeks to the FAQ thread so we don't have to keep posting all of the past weeks links??

Thoughts?? Ideas?? I sure love seeing that smiling face! My fit test is tomorrow...I am excited!

p.s. I took the battery out of my scale to prevent my 'accidental' weighing

I'd have to have my husband hide the battery. I'll see how it goes this week, and then consider weighing once a week. It's a hard habit to break that served me well so far.....Only speaking for myself.
