I'll be in San Antonio for Christmas because my daughter doesn't have the vacation time to come home.

Julie,
WOO HOO!!!!!! Maybe we can get together over the holidays. I would love that. Remember what I said about it being a small world? Our son and DIL also work at USAA!!!!!!

For Fat - just use your head - you don't want to eat full fat sour cream, cheese, mayo and a bunch of red meat in a the same day. I use a sprinkle of low fat cheese, I cook with canola and EVOO, eat at least 80% lean meat. I have not stressed about this one bit. Just be sensible this is not atkins where you get to eat as much fat as you want.

No regular bread on carb down or baseline days only EZ -

Buckwheat question would have to go to Jerri, but you can give it a try and see if it stalls you.

NO you don't ever need to count CARBS again!
Kelley,

Thank you so much!!! So, you don't really count fat the way we counted carbs, right?

I am looking forward to my EZ bread tomorrow - got it in tortilla wraps, pita pockets, cinnamon raisin and sesame. Can I put some jelly on it? I have low sugar and no fat.

Hi Everyone,
Just getting in from work. My day has been perfectly normal. Eating is easy for some reason. I just follow the plan for the day and keep it simple. My twins and daughter start tomorrow. I got my Crack the code dvd in so the twins are watching that tonight to get ready and my daughter has me and we went grocery shopping for two.

Someone brought me a birthday cake to class tonight and we sang and I cut cake for everyone and no one notice I didn't get a slice for me. Everyone happy, especially me.

I had two people tell today I was looking very good what was I doing. I'm gonna have a whole studio of people on this before you know it.

Jodyjane I'm sorry you had issues but the old not gonna quit makes me proud and this will be the week you do it. Your sister will be an inspiration or you will be.

I love that everyone is losing their pants, I want mine to fall off. Let you know when.

Hi Kelley, I was craving free after week 1, but then I had some oatmeal and just went from there. I knew the whole time that I was going off plan but I really didnt care. I had some stresses and the candy shop just got the best of me.
I am prepared now and finally am back on plan. I was so proud of myself and my blood sugars were way down, so I know this is the way for me.

WOW! My daughter has worked there since May 2008. She's a young newbie and doing quite well...excellent evaluations. They had her doing some fraud alert calls Saturday. Nice overtime for her, and more in line with her degree. She only lives about 10 minutes away from USAA, and she's training to run the USAA mini marathon.

I helped move her to San Antonio last March, went back for my birthday weekend in April and went to the River Walk, Alamo, and Japanese tea gardens (GORGEOUS!). I was there for a week in July (HER birthday) and I'll be there from the 19th til the 26th of December. I will have seen 4 seasons of San Antonio weather - gorgeous, gorgeous, HOT, and ????? Anything's better than the snow! I think it would be fun to meet!

I'm in Northeastern Ohio. I think Salem is farther south.

By George, I think I just got it!

I was going over things one more time and all of a sudden a light bulb just went off in my head!

OMG, Jackie, you're making this much harder than it is. I keep wanting to count everything, but I think this is it:

Carb Down Days: 1 carb meal before 3:00 pm
Baseline Days: 2 carb meals before 3:00 pm
Carb Up Days: Carb meals last 2 meals of the day

I was reading it as 1 carb before 3:00 pm I was thinking how am I supposed to have a sub and chips plus a tomato? That's more than 1 carb, then it hit me, it's meal not 1 carb!

It just continues to cycle, do each week of each cycle, then start all over again except with the deplete week, right? Until you get to where you want to be, and continuing will just ensure that you stay where you want to be, right?

This is amazing if I have it right now!

Love it, Love it, Love it. I love this new body I'm on my way to!

Jackie you have it.

Jeannie you are going on to weed 3. Just do two carb down days in a row and be done with worrying.

Dede I think tomorrow we start new thread. I'm heading to bed with a book and dreams of being on week 8 already.

It sounds like it was a gooood and happy one!

Jody Jane, said hello to your sister on the next thread. I know you are ready to get back on plan and show her the way. Sounds like you did what we all often do, grab food cause you are emotional eater! Do you have some shakes and enough other "good" things to eat at work? The Atkins Chocolate Royale is good and chocolatey for those sweet cravings. Grab a few and keep in the refrigerator at work so you can grab that instead of heading for all that chocolate in your environment!

Jeannie, sounds like you could do one of two things: Proceed to week 3 and do a B day as scheduled or Proceed to week 3 and substitute a C day for that first B day. Life happens and that is what makes this WOE soooo doable! We all have some minor slip ups, sometimes some major slip ups. We can just pick right back up and keep on going! Just don't let it be an excuse to continue slipping up, and dig right back in!

Can we use skim milk? I always made mine with skim and no sweetener because i really don't like them sweet, but I've stayed away from milk since I started cracking.
No milk unless carb up or free day...I'm echoing Kelley...se beat me to it Eventhough it is fat free, it has lactose-ie sugar so no milk on carb down and baseline days

Very good...just remember it is a SERVING of carbs in baseline and carbdown days...ONE SERVING...Not a predominately carb meal. You must have your protein with the carb. On carb up days the last two meals are MOSTLY CARB meals with controled fat and some protein.

Great Job!!

You are supposed to watch your fat intake but no you don't need to obsess.

Remember EZ Cinnamon Raisin is ONLY for BASELINE and CARB UP days due to the sugar from the raisins. Yes, you can use low sugar jam for your toast in the morning! You also get 2 pieces of EZ bread for your serving - not just one!

Forgive yourself! That is the number 1 important thing. It is what it is and you can't go back to yesterday. Have a carb down day afterwards. No need to do the 4 because you didn't do that bad.

I am lucky in that the first place I found talking about this WOE was this thread waaaaay back the end of July. But when I see my medical test results for diabetes be the best they have been in years, you gotta believe there is something to it!!! Have I been perfect every day? Hel- NO! Have I lost weight? About 11 pounds that I don't plan to refind! Do my clothes fit better? From too tight 16's to 11/12's and even a pair of 10's!!!! Have I reduced my insulin and diabetic meds ? My Goodness YES!!! Am I an exercise guru like Alissa, Kelley and others? What is exercise? Or, Are you really serious about that question? Do I care what the nay sayers think - Absolutely Not!!! They aren't me! Do I love the people on this thread? Without a doubt, with all my heart!

So, glad you will stay with us and make up your own mind! After week one, no one will really notice the difference in how you eat. If they do, you can just day you have had to make some adjustments for medical reason (no one knows part of the medical reason is your own sanity!)

Connie

Connie, you are my hero! I want to start the walking tonight but it's raining and I'm finding every excuse not to! It's nice to read someone else has a struggle with the exercise! I won't post more on here since we have next week's up and running....

Hi Ladies I'm glad that I wasn't the only one to mess up over the weekend. Was it a full moon???? And what's up with the peanuts? I was into them, too. However, candy corn does not tempt me. Just give me the chocolate. Okay, now it's a new week, so let's not beat ourselves up over past indescretions. Think positive.

Oops! I guess I missed the new thread also! Posted on the old one...

Just checking in again...Day 1 Week 3... and so far 9.5 nasty fat lbs. melted away! Yay!!

I hope I can add in more power walking next week. This week is 1st Quarter finals and I will be up most nights writing tests and grading papers. So, I can pretty much guarantee no walking this week. Perhaps I could learn to sleep "power" walk?!? Oh well.

I have to admit that I enjoyed week 2 much more! I even ate a few handfulls of popcorn with my little girl on carb up day as we enjoyed High School Musical 3 (Ok, it actually wasn't as dumb as I thought it would be, I kinda liked it...). I thought I would pay for the popcorn in more ways than one, but I just did a carb down day on Sunday and all is still well. Whew!

I am getting so much inspiration and some really great hints from all of you, so keep it up! And I thank you for just being there with all of that!! I may not be able to keep up with most of you ladies, but I am truly inspired by you from afar!

Have a good week all!
