Hey Lianne, sorry that you experienced that!
Geez. Those people must be HUNGRY!!!!! How else could somebody act like that to somebody they don't even know??!!! Hope that wasn't here at LCF, but yeah, it happens. Just brush it off. I hope that you can find the right mix but in the meantime, nice to see you back hanging with US! ![]() |

Week 2, day 2 (2nd time around) another carb-down day for me. Was busy getting my boy off to summer camp this morning, so couldn't really cook; just had a hard boiled egg and some cottage cheese. Not optimal, but it worked. I also agree with that it's important to say something about the tweaks, because you're right, new people read the boards and believe that whatever is mentioned is okay on the plan. Not always true. I'm not sure on the Ezekiel raisin bread by the way. The regular has 12 net carbs, 4g protein and zero sugar. The sesame has 11 net carbs and 4g protein and zero sugar. The raisin has 16 net carbs, 3g protein and 5 g of sugar. I don't know if 5 grams (the equivalent of one teaspoon) of sugar makes a difference, but since she has SF everywhere else in the plan; this is a food I personally would not eat. I've found I like cinnamon without the sugar, added to cottage cheese. So you might try using butter for your fat on regular or sesame Ezekiel bread and sprinkling with plain cinnamon to see if that would be okay instead. I know - not the same, but ... ![]()

Hello ladies,
Hope everyone is doing good! This is Week 5 Day 3 for me and 12 lbs lighter. It hasn't been as hard as I thought BUT I had my share of ups and down. Since my husband is on the same program it helped a lot when one of us starts going crazy. So dont be shy to come to forum when it gets hard. Like last night when I was making homemade Blueberry Bran muffins. The whole house smelled so nice but we have to wait until tonight to have it. My husband even took one muffin and was sniffing it..... and moaning.... I was laughing so hard. But we didnt eat it. I counted all muffins in the morning just in the case he got up in the middle of night and had some. To all of those that are struggling I just want to say to hang in there. You are already making a huge progress by making a step to learn how to eat healthier. And if you fail its ok, you can start again. And ignore those that are giving you a hard time. We are all different individuals and what might be hard on you might be a piece of cake for me. Dont judge, unless you want to be judged is my motto. And some people are diet freaks!!!!! If you eat something that you shouldn't instead of saying it in the nice way they jump on you like you hurt their loved one. For smokers or ex- smokers.... I quit and gained 20lbs within 8 weeks. And I still carry that extra weight for over 3 yrs now. Quiting smoking is HUGE and if you have any kind of stress in your life, including trying to follow your diet and lose weight, its hard to do it all at once. Some people are stronger then others and can do it cold turkey some dont, but just by trying to find a solution to quit is a big step so be proud of yourself. Also I made my own millet bread and it was so yummy. I recommend to everyone to do it, its not a science and you don't have to be expert in baking.

Its great to be back. It was on some atkins 24/7 site not on here.
I really missed it on here. Yesterday I def didn't eat enough but then again I was trying to follow what they had online to a T. I am so glad with this I have so much more options within reason. So glad I came back on an up day too lol. Been looking forward to the pizza we bought since Wednesday. Besides with this diet Saturdays I can enjoy eating what I would like within reason with my parents. Week 7 & 8 my cheat and high carb days are on Tuesday and Wednesdays I wish I could change them to the weekends Is there anyway I can go about that when the time comes so that I can still eat with them what I would like?? I started on a Thursday so I know that makes this hard. I am only on Week 3 day 6.

Ok...
I have a friggin addiction to these message boards! I keep finding myself checking them constantly throughout the day!
So, I had my first diet coke in over a week today and I am jittery!!! I satisfied my craving for it though, and have decided I don't need another one anytime soon! I will stick to the water and the crystal light (which I think I might becoming addicted to, lol! |

Hi Everyone. I just read Jerri906's post. Today is week 2, day 2 for me. I used my Ezekiel bread slices at lunch with 2 slices of turkey and one of cheese. Was that a mistake for a carb down day?

Welcome back Lianne. Sorry you had problems elsewhere but I am glad you are back.
As for the smoking issue. I have never smoked but my husband is a smoker and (I think I mentioned it before because of Beth's ex) and he may have lung cancer. We still don't have a diagnosis but his doctor is quite sure it is lung cancer. They haven't given him much hope for very long survival but....you never know.....doctors aren't always right. I also miss my mom. She died in 1997 and it was very sudden. She wasn't very old....in my eyes. Gotta go and get some work done. Will check back later. Marie

Hi Everyone,
So good to get that info from Jerry. He's answering a lot of questions that have been niggling at all of us. As far as the book is concerned, I don't really know how this works but I'm thinking they probably sold more copies than they expected after the magazine promo (hence the difficulty getting copies), does that mean they will be reprinting sooner than expected? If so, is it worth us contacting the publisher directly so that we can try to influence the editing of the reprint? Or am I getting above myself? I know Jerry said the book was "cheap" but I paid $16.95 +s&h for mine -not cheap. However, if this WOE works, it was priceless! I'm still in DC, Week 3 Day 16 Carb Down here's what I've had so far today: Meal 1 1/2 bagel 1 egg + 2 egg whites scrambled with a smidge of Brummel & Brown spread Tea with a little milk Coffee with sf International Delight 20oz Water & Crystal Light Meal 2 Out for early lunch on 18th St. before DD went to work: A cup of gazpacho, then I ordered a salad with smoked salmon, salad greens, cucumber, tomato olives & feta cheese - it was huge! I did "a Wendy" & ordered the "to go" box immediately & put half the salad minus the salmon (I estimated total weight of salmon & 1/2 the cheese was about right for one meal's protein) Water Cappucino (I know, but this is the best place in DC with the best foam!) Meal 3 Left over salad with 3-4oz Wendy's Tasty Turkey Taco salad (no scales so I'm estimating) So I've had my 3 "main meals" & will probably only have 1 more snack today which will be a shake if the ice cubes have frozen in this teeny tiny fridge! Yesterday I only had 3 meals & didn't do well on water + I didn't have any coffee. I felt really tired & sleepy all day (lost the huge energy boost I've had since starting this). Woke up this morning feeling awful - headache, lethargy, yuck! Pretty obvious that the eating every three hours & making sure to get 80 oz of water rules are there for a reason! Have a great day, Margaret |

Lianne, I can't remember exactly right at the moment how to do it (somebody??) but the beauty of this plan is that those days are interchangeable for when you need them.
I can't remember what days you do when, but you know you have time where you could probably reset your days mid-week by doing carb downs and get back to the regular Monday thru Friday rotation before Weeks 7 & 8. Or since you're coming back why not just pick up at a regular Tuesday for the week you're on. It would certainly be easier to follow the rotation and that's exactly why I want to stay with the rotation when I get through and restart. I would totally screw things up, knowing me! ![]() Quote:

Sara, I think that she was talking about the Ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread someone asked about earlier wasn't she? So long as you used one of the regular wheat versions for your starch food types, you're okay.

Call me arrogant . . .
OK, so I went ahead & did it!
I just sent the following e-mail to the editing department of McGraw-Hill: My questions are about: Wendy Chant: Crack the Fat-Loss Code, ISBN: 007154691X / 9780071546911 This is a great book, it is obviously selling fast as a number of people are having a hard time finding it. Here are my questions: 1. Is there a chance that the book will be reprinted? 2. Will there be an opportunity for significant revision & editing in a new edition? 3. Is it possible for the author/publishers to include input from current readers/users of the book in the editing & revision process? I have been following the book's plan for almost 3 weeks & simultaneously sharing experiences with about 50 others from all over the US, on an Internet message board. We all love the plan & are enjoying many successes including weight loss, inch loss, & increased energy levels. However, between us we have found multiple errors, misprints, confusions & contradictions in the text of the book. It would be a shame to reprint it without taking the opportunity to fix these for subsequent readers. Thanks for your time, I'll let you know if I get a response! Margaret |

Wendy Chant does call those 4 carb down days at the end of Week 8 something like a 'carb deplete lite' I think, but unfortunately she says nothing about where to pick up from there. At least that is my recollection. I know myself though, so I'm picking up the week at that 5th day to stay on the rotation and keep my Carb Up Days right. Otherwise I guarantee I WILL screw things up for sure!!

OK ..im in heaven. Im a little late on this cause im only allowed one carb before 3 and i just ate it. Just 12 mins later. lol
Here is what I made and it was so good!!! EZ has tortillas. so i made a greek pizza. I used an EZ tortilla. placed it on a baking stone. I had left over sauteed egg plant so i added it on top of the EZ. I then added crumbed feta cheese, not to much, thin sliced red onion. and drizzled olive oil and place in oven till crisp and cheese melted. I had my oven at 400 ..so maybe 10 mins or less. I live by a middle eastern store and got oil cured black olives. I cut only 4 in a fine dice and cut some fresh basil and added it on top. It was the sh*t!!!!!! (pardon the excitement) I was going to add some chicken but it was so good by itself!!! Just wanted to share!!! Last edited by Marty Sweetness; 08-05-2008 at 04:27 PM.. |

If I restart tomorrow that would make two up days in a row. Would that be bad?? Because thats the only way I can still have the up days on Saturdays where I need them and then once I get to 7 & 8 I would have the cheat days where I need them too if I do the switch now. Please let me know if 2 up days in a row is acceptable. Thank you.

Marty, that Greek pizza sounds fabulous! I hope I can find the right EZ to make it. Thanks for telling us all. And your new picture is too cute!
Mary Mc, I am so glad you wrote them--we can save a lot of editing time by letting them know of the errors and confusing parts we are finding--and maybe you'll get a free, signed, new edition, whoo-hoo! |
