»»»ºOh I'm Gonna Lose This Weight! summer 2008º»»»
Hey everyone, I wanted to start a new challenge for the summer!
There are some guidelines you gotta promise to stick to plan, no matter what plan that is... Keep cheating to a min. You have to check in atleast every few days. Gotta try to encourage eachother. Get atleast 15 minutes of exercise a day. (if you can't find time to exercise do things like, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking your car further away at the mall, walking to the store instead of driving, chasing the kids around the yard etc) When you join set a small goal for yourself that you would like to achieve by Labor day Weekend. Every Sunday/Monday will be mini goals.. you set yourself a mini goal for the week and then keep updated on the post how you are doing with your goals.. (for example of a mini goal; I want to walk atleast a mile a day, I want to drink atleast 100oz of water a day, I want to go atleat a week with out drinking coffee, etc) The first week in Aug. we can all update how we are doing with our bigger goals.. I'd also like to set up an online im(instant messenger) buddy system where we can all share our screen names, and I figure if enough people are online if anyones feeling bad, or we need some help or encouragement, or just to chat, we can have someone to talk to. Losing weight isn't just physical its mental too, and sometimes you just need someone to talk to! You can talk about anything here, health problems, menus, exercise, life problems, rants raves, etc.. Anything you may need to talk about that may be effecting your weightloss mentally, or physically! Just remember, anyone can join! atkins, south beach, weight watchers, eggcreamers, etc etc.. What ever works for you is ok! XOXOXO Kerry

you dont have to measure, I just do that so I know what I lost by the end.. Sometimes you don't always lose much weight, but it may be in inches

I've been reading for months...not mentally or physically feeling ready, but I want to join this challenge. I don't want to be whining, but I have so much going on but know I would be so happy, and able to face my challenges if this weight was off my body! In a nutshell:
I'm a single mom, 59 years old, 1 full time job in a bakery (4 am to 2 pm); mentor 4 kids who lost their mom; live with my 24 year old son who has cerebral palsy; a 23 year old daughter going on for her masters degree in college; foster mom - just moved out the 18 year old who lived with me as he graduated and off to college; broke; frazzled; feeling like I have diet ADD; stressed; not enough time in the day. I am sure we all have our stories, and it's learning how to set the goals, one at a time. I would love to do this as planning an "egg creme" is a lot easier and faster than planning a whole days meal in advance, as I am gone so much, or home a few hours taking care of my son and trying to give him the time he deserves. My husband died, my dad just died, my dog just died on my birthday. I am a stress eater - no doubt about it. Sick of obsessing over food to comfort me. "'God doesn't deal us anything he doesn't think we can handle" - well then, I better get busy and move on and make my life better. I am printing out this challenge, will try and post my menu (be accountable), haven't exercised in years, just starting to walk a little, printing out the egg cremes recipes, I feel overwhelmed....

once you see the weight start to come off, YOU GET MORE AND MORE MOTIVATED! ITS GREAT! if not doing it for weightloss, do it for your health so you can contue to take care of your son! ![]() if you need any help feel free to pm me or im me! |

My mini-goal for this week is to exercise 5X (Shred or similar DVD).
I've been sticking to Atkins WOE without a problem, the exercise is where I'm lacking. I recently began exercising again and want to continue. This will be good motivation because I need to report what I've done. |

I'm here!!! I posted my final challenge results on the old July 4th thread. I'm ready to keep moving down with this next challenge. Exercise has helped me so much, so I'm definitely sticking with my T-tapp routine. I never thought I would actually exercise EVERY day. But I'm actually able to work it in to my schedule since it is only 15 minutes. And, I think it has really helped me to lose much needed inches in my waist and abs!
I'll be sticking with my egg creams breakfast--low carb rest of the day. I'm really getting a kick out of this challenge thing. I think the last one was the first challenge I started and completed!

Welcome qbu! The more the merrier! lemonmama-Do you have t-tapp tapes? I have the book but find it kind of hard to follow. |

Jenn--Yes, I have the Instructional #1/Basic Work Out Plus DVD. I just had the book first, but, like you, had a hard time figuring it all out. I borrowed the DVD from a friend and realized it made everything much easier to understand. I still have my friend's DVD and will be purchasing my own soon. My Mom just bought the entire Total Work Out, so I may try it soon.
I have really been amazed by how it is toning me up, and I can do it, because it is just 15 minutes a day. I sound like an infomercial, but I am really excited! :-) Jessica :-) |

hey!!!
I was part of the last one, but I fell off the face of the planet...trips got sick, then vacation. I am a Braves fan too! I am ready to be committed I mean commit to this challenge. I would like to lose 15 lbs. I think I have figured out that if I dance with the girls around the family room for about 30 minutes that is about the best I can do right now. So maybe my goal will be to do that and then maybe a Walk Away the Pounds dvd after they go to bed or something. What is the 30 lb shred? But I gotta be honest...once the trips are in bed, I just want to veg out! pathetic huh? Ok, my AIM is briwenmizell Kerry - tell me about this sf lime jello egg creme Thanks!!!! Wendy

I'm in Kansas City. Big time humidity. My air conditioner is working overtime. I can't seem to keep it as cool as I would like in here! I really don't like sweating at all! I know it is good for me, but I just feel yucky. Plus, getting in a shower with my three little ones around is next to impossible! ![]() Wendalina--welcome back! I don't have triplets, but mine are ages 4, 3 and 16 months, so I totally understand the wanting to veg out when the kids go to bed. I actually put in a 30 minute show for them in the afternoon and try to get in a little workout then. |
