Good Morning Glories! How is everyone doing today?

My hubby cooked the BEST dinner last night!

Shrimp Scampi, a lovely Heirloom Tomato Salad w/ a special shaved Ricotta, and Blackened Snapper. It was deeeLISH!

We arew going to see The Police in Concert tonight! We rarely go to concerts (too expensive) - we go to maybe one per year, or every other year - but we splurged on these tickets to get good seats (it's at an outside pavillion; smaller venue) it should be wonderful on this warm summer evening!

Morning Ladies,
The concert sounds nice HB how did it go? Was it good? You mean your hubby cooks! Not mine I think he doesn't that way I have to all the time.
I am like you I love Meeks avitar she is so pretty in it and the color she has is looks nice on her, she likes the same colors I do.
I have been sticking to the plan trying to stay around 20 carbs or less. I am now down to 186.5 not going to make it to 180 by bd thats fine at least I am getting down there. Better run and get water, have a nice day.

Yes, my hubby cooks! He taught me to cook! Plus he helps w/ the laundry & dishes and he even changes the bedsheets every Sunday! He's amazing. He is really creative too. He has remodeled our entire home from top to bottom both inside and outside with his very own hands. Somehow I managed to snag a good one!

Yo! Where is everybody else?

The Police Concert last night was FAB! My gawd Sting is such a babe! He's 56 and talk about aging gracefully - WOW. My hubby actually looks a LOT like Sting (just younger w/ darker hair) so maybe that's why I am so enamored w/ Sting??

Great concert, lots of energy and we stood & danced & sang the whole time! I love the outdoor concerts at this venue on a nice warm summer eveing. Oh and we saw the most AMAZING shooting star last night too. It was HUGE and BRILLIANT and turned GREEN at the end!!!!!

I'm doing good today, had an egg cream for Brunch and planning grass-fed beef patties & loaded broccoli for Dinner. I might have a snack before I take the dogs for a romp this afternoon...

I am so glad you had such a fantasic time last night.
Your hubby does so many things, what a lucky woman you are. Does he do windows too? I have to do mine they are such a hassle have to take off the screens too this time. .
I broke down and had a piece of whole wheat bread today, first since the program, I don't think it wil hurt me, it was 6 carbs, which kept me under my 20 still.
I love my bacon have you seen on the news latley about doctors saying high fat diets people are losing better? Hmmmm could it be they are just getting it.
Daughter in law came by for a while today and noticed how I have lost weight made me feel good that other people are noticing too.
I am lacking on my water today unless I get in maybe 64 more ounces before bed.
I better run for now will be back shortly,

How did you do on your 97+ carbs the other day?
I boiled eggs this morning to make deviled eggs as my snack, I am using a yogurt for my dessert, it is only 3 carbs, I buy the vanilla and add cinnamon which makes it taste like a cinnamon roll, keeps me away from the real thing lol I had my piece of bread yesterday with real butter and so far so good on the scales it is not hurting me because it is low in cabs. What bread is it that you all use? If any. This morning scales were 186 I am affraid before too long it will slow down on me. Better run and get bacon cooking. Have a great day ladies.

Good morning everyone! I'm on my way to SF this morning...

Alberta: I eat either Ezekiel or Alvarado Street Bakery Flaxseed (6 net carbs per slice!). You can get BOTH at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. When I eat bread, I restrict it to the mornings and only a couple times per week.

Alvarado Street Bakery Flaxseed Bread

Ezekiel Bread

Meek: except for dog romps, I haven't worked-out this week either, so I'm not gonna do a refeed today, esp since I had a mini-refeed (approx 150 carbs) on Wednesday. Where do you work?

Hey, if anyone wants more info re: Keto Diet w/ Refeeds, PM me with your email address. (Meek, you already have the info. Alberta, I already have your email address so I will forward to you now.)

Have a great day everyone!

Meeks, Would 28 days be the big day? Your wedding! I know you can do it you are doing so go now. This week hubby is home for vacation and when he is home I don't stay on plan as when he is at work but I told him this time I am I am losing and he is not going to mess it up. I found out when I eat beef I don't loose as well maybe the sodium in it or something so today is my one day of a steak on the grill this week. Then its back to chicken and bacon, love my bacon.
Better run and fill up water jug I am real low on it today better pick up on it.
Have a great day.

Hey Butterflies! I'm so excited, I just made Cleo's Oopsies (first time) and it looks like they turned out pretty good! I'm going to use them for a bacon & french toast breakfast in the morning! (with SF syrup of course!)

I also made a mini SF cheesecake w/ just a small dusting of almond flour for a very slight whisper of a crust for dessert tonight. We're having steak on the grill and loaded broccoli. YUM.

Hope everyone is having a super weekend!

Hey everyone..sorry I have been missing but lots of yard work to get done. I am almost winning against the buttercups for this week anyway, I have been staying pretty good on plan with the Atkins. I am back down to the 186. I have company coming tomorrow and they are bringing a cake for hubby's birthday but I told them they would have to take home any leftovers and I am making the Linda's chocolate cake for myself. I will whip up a small bit of whipping cream with some waldens chocolate syrup for the topping on it.
I am enjoying the great weather and staying out side a lot and off the computer. I just checked my email and seen mail from hummingbird and thought I had better check in. I find it hard to get time on the computer in the summer as I love sitting outside in my yard and reading a good book..actually I have finished a lot of books lately..lol..
I am also re reading my Atkins book as well..Isn't it wonderful that all the statistics are showing that this is the best weight loss program..The Today show and also our local news as both mentioned the test recently done saying the Atkins diet is really good for losing weight and lowering the cholesterol...NOW isn't that what Dr Atkins said yrs ago..???
I will try to get back on more often..hugs Hilda/buddysgirl

Don't put much faith in that test, in terms of research that was one worst set of parameters for a test ever. The test was uncontrolled and not a ward study. Atkins is a good program.

Agreed! Even tho there seems to be some controversy over the actual "study"...

YAY!!!!! re: Yahoo News Story re: LC Diet :)

I still think it's a huge step forward for recognition of the value of low-carb diets, in general, and I for one, was very happy to see THIS in black & white:

"And perhaps the most surprising: people on the low-carb diet, even after two years of dining on meat & cheese & eggs, did NOT have increased cholesterol levels. In fact, it actually lowered the cholesterol numbers of study participants."

To me, this is the big take away from the article, as it helps removes that kind of negative "ammunition" from the medical community's criticism of the Atkins WOE.

HAPPY MONDAY BUTTERFLIES!

ITS WEEKLY CHECK-IN DAY! HERE ARE MY STATS/GOALS, WHAT ARE YOURS?

1 - Hummingbird: 30 to lose/ 11 lost/ 19 pounds to go!

2 - I am back to serious daily exercise this week!
cardio, weights, wall-pushups, & plenty of ab work

3 - I'm going to keep my carbs low (20g) Monday thru Thursday.

4 - I'm going to eat high carb for one or two days this weekend.

5 - This is why: Leptin: the anti-starvation hormone

6 - TODAY is exactly 4 months before my next trip to Hawaii on 11/21
and I plan to transform my body. I will lose as much fat as possible + build as much muscle as possible. Today I weigh 164.5 and my bodyfat is 31%. I can safely say the 10 lbs I've lost since 3/24 is "locked-in" for good. Now it's time for a repeat performance; I must lose another 10 lbs! My weight loss must become my "second job" as it was during April/May. I was not nearly as focused in June/July; hence no more results (but note I didn't gain either). It's time to refocus!

7 - I already eat very well nutritionally: low-carb, organic, no sugar, no frankenfoods.
IT'S TIME FOR MORE: Exercise and Water. Exercise and Water. Exercise and Water.

I CAN DO THIS; I KNOW THAT I CAN. I MUST IMPLEMENT MY KNOWLEDGE AND JUST DO IT!

ITS WEEKLY CHECK-IN DAY! HERE ARE MY STATS/GOALS.

1 - Kris: maintaining at 114-give or take a pound!

2 - I am sticking to my M-F workout scheme, although it's harder with the kids home for the summer. I'm relegated to waiting until my DH arrives home. I don't care for 6pm workouts, but I do what I gotta do!

3 - I'm going to keep my carbs around 20-40 for the week, with a higher, healthy carb count for one of the weekend days. We're almost out of eggs and cr. cheese, so a Trader Joe's run is a must.

4 - I'm going to eat high carb for one or two days this weekend.

5 - I need to up my water intake. Supposedly I only need about 35 oz, but I really have to force myself to drink!

6 - I'm not going to stress about work!

Look forward to hearing about everyone else! Diane, congrats on the oopsies! They are addictive. I'm waiting for my muffin-top pan from Amazon.

Alberta's Stats
30 to lose / 10.5 lost, 19.5 to go

1) Stick to 20 carbs Sunday through Friday high carb on Saturday

2) Drink more water I have been lacking on my 100+ ounces a day

3) get in more proteins

4) exercise more.

I have not seem to be getting in all my water for some reason I know I have to make a great effort to do that because when I do I do not feel as hungry nor when I get in all my protein I am not hungry. I have been eating loads of salads with bacon and eggs added.

Aimee is 6 and Charlie is 10. He's our carnivore. Nothing makes him happier than buffalo jerky from TJ! Aimee, not so much. She's our little sweet tooth, unfortunately. However, when I make homemade cookies, I really cut down the amount of sugar in the recipe to make sure her taster isn't getting used to really sweet things. I refuse to give them any artificial sweetners, just my opinion though.

I don't know what macros are..I'm too lazy to do all of that. I'm even a fitday dropout!

Going bowling with the kids after I finish my work. I think L will be an omlette with shrimp, avocado & tabasco. Oh, and cheese. I picked up some dill havarti last night, my second favorite. Maytag blue is #1 in my book.
