BootCamp Charlie For Men (June Edition)

June 2008 EDITION

Welcome to Bootcamp Charlie, a place started by our man Mack, otherwise known as Sarge , where men looking to lose/maintain weight and improve their overall health with exercise and proper nutrition gather for support.

The routine for accountability stands as such:

Weigh in every Monday. Report On:
Previous weeks weight
Current weeks weight

On the 1st of each month report what you can:

All time high
Weight as of 1/1/2008
Current weight
Total pounds from high
Total pounds lost in 2008

There are a few rules to follow.

No Emoticons, they are definately not manly!

Visitor's are welcome every Sunday to post their views of the Camp.

Visitor's, if you see acronym VFZ, that means Virgin Fat Zone. i.e. a weight the individual has not seen in a long time - a sign of real progress.

Share what works, what doesnt, but check in often. Straying from the camp for a period usually means somethings gone wrong. While tempting, don't go AWAL just because you screwed up.

All men feel free to join the camp, summer is on the way.

Challenges are encouraged, be it a week, or 2 or more. April's challenge was the speedo challenge, anyone who did not lose 10 lbs for the month, poses in a speedo to be posted on the main board. It was a real motivator.

Stats for the month.

May 1 - 373 lbs

June 1 - 356 lbs

-17 lbs for May

Even though this past week has been a bust, I guess I did enough the other weeks to have a good loss for the month. Good luck every one.

Start Date: August 10, 2004
June 1st weigh in.

hey guys,

heres the numbers:

January 1 2008 - 159
February 1 2008 - 158.5
March 1 2008 - 157.5
April 1 2008 - 159.2
May 1 2008 - 155.4
June 1 2008 - 145.4 - 10lbs, new VFZ

well i dont know exactly how that came about, a lot has to do with all the work ive been doing around the house and not eating properly, another part is we have kept up with the P90 workouts and have only missed 2 days in 2 months, i have also started eating smaller (read normal) portions of food, and have been trying to eat smaller meals more frequently, i probably need to watch my weight now, i dont think i should go under where im at now, today the wife will take our 3rd set of pics and measurements to see how the p90 program is doing

goals for June: i am going to look at getting some weights or a machine and starting to build in my upper body, add more foods in to my diet reasonably, keep up running 5k couple times a week, start the Power 90 next set of DVD's tomorrow (the master series), and at the end of the month, hopefully move to the P90X program

ooba, very nice job,

Here we go,

5/1/08 - 201.2

6/1/08 - 200.6

Sure as hell ain't -10 lbs. but I sure can maintain this weight. Well my new workout for the month will be to cut split and stack a whole lot of firewood. If that doesn't get this weight moving in the right direction nothing will.

Ooba -17 thats impressive great job.

Ken -10 you skinny b@$*^&d your making me jealous LOL KUTGW.

My goal for this month is to get into onderland and stay there.

Wow, what a wild ride for the month of May, here goes;

1/20/2008 (start date):315
4/28/2008: 251
6/1/2008: 241
For the month: -10
For 2008: 74

Wow, that is insane considering what I was at just a week ago. I think a lot of that was water weight and my running a lot and lifting more burnt it outta me. I leave for home in 6 days, and would like to be under 240 when I get there. New mini-goal.

Here is a chart of my progress:

So tonight I decided to make up a batch of wings. Usually I just throw in the Franks buffalo sauce and call it good. However I was reading the story of how buffalo wings came about and decided to experiment a bit. I took a whole bottle of the buffalo sauce, threw it in a sauce pan and added a stick of butter. Let it simmer till it was all melted. Gave it a good stir with the whisk and added two packets of splenda.

In the end it toned down the spiciness of the wings, and added a bit of sweet to it. The whole thing of sauce only had two carbs in it. Added some blu-cheese to it and I think dinner had maybe 5 carbs. Pretty good, next time try it.

Also, today was 7 days in a row at the gym. Only a short workout to make up some sets I coped out on earlier in the week. Off to watch the World MotoGP race in Italy. Anyone else gonna catch it tonight on Speed? Rossi wins (saw it in news earlier), GO YAMAHA!

10.8 down for the month of May

I saw all the comments on the May thread. Thanks fellas. Doing that ride was a real good goal for me. A half century (as they call it) ride will be my next big one.

I really dont know what my next weight goal will be. I dont feel restricted in anything I eat. I enjoy my way of life and might have fewer food vices than others (I dont like beer, no parties/celebrations to attend and be tempted) so its easier for me. For you dudes with busier lives I feel for ya. Take time to prepare and plan, be in control and help yourself win this battle.

June was a month alot of us were staring out at (back in the winter) hoping that by this time of year we were making positive changes in life and taking care of our health. Know matter what the scale says I sure hope youre treating yourself good.

And CTI, you dodged a bullet there. Dude status maintained.

VFZ - 186 (4/05)

Late check-in for June. It's been a full month now that I've been stuck around 202. I am down a pound this week, so hopefully that's the start of some good movement.

My goals for June: get to onderland (and then under 195), exercise on at least 22 days and no cheats. This is going to be a tough month for me. Every weekend we've got something going on which is where I usually have "issues". I've got to have a good month, because I go to Europe for 10 days in the beginning of July, and I really need to have my head in the game to survive that.

Wow, May was a great month for some of the campers. Double digit losses all over the place. Ooba, Ken, Wall, Adam and CTI all with outstanding months so far.

Ken, 145!?! How tall are you? Dare I ask, but you're not losing too much are you?

Ed, I have a feeling June will be your month. As quick as you were losing at the beginning of the year, you were due for a slow month.

Thanks to the ladies for finding our June thread and prettying the place up!

Hey all been on a bit of a stall for the month of May. Here are the numbers:

May 1: 224.5
June 1: 220.2

I was actually back up to 222 again midway but I think I'm officially stalled. As some of you know, I'll be hitting up a carb binge then back on strict induction to get my fat-burning going again. Also gotta recommit to the weight room. Ugh. I'm pretty certain I can do 10lbs. in June. Is there another challenge?

While I realize my icon pic is a bit revealing, I did agree to show my white, fat a$$ in a speedo if I didn't meet the challenge. I'm pretty sure nobody wants to see that but I'll live up to my half of the bargain if required.

Congrats for all of you who continue to lose and those in VFZ! Great job and keep it up peeps.

Hey Guys....Harley Checking in.
Monday Weigh in.
Highest weight ever: 302
1-1-08 279.5
5-26-08 246
6-2-08 236
Weight Lost this week: 10
Weight Loss in 2008: 43.5
Goal: 210

I am not really going to count today's weigh in, as I am pretty sure I am dehydrated from doing rock all weekend. It was nice to see that number on the scale though. If it sticks, it will be my new VFZ.

Well, I finished the rocking about 10 o'clock last night. I had a buddy help me run the Bob Cat for awhile yesterday, and that helped out quite a bit. My hands are trashed though....to much shoveling/moving rock.
Here are a couple pictures if anyone wants to see them.
Pile 1

Pile 2

After Spreading (I haven't trimmed the fabric yet and I am getting concrete edging done next week, so that is why there is piles by the edges)
Back of the House

Side of the House

Front of the House

Down the Driveway

Hopefully I am not boring you too much with the pictures. As I mentioned, the concrete edgeing will be put in next week and the driveway will be asphalted the following week.

Nice job on the losses guys!

Harley Out!

Yup!!

I will have 3 months of initial training in Oklahoma City, followed by 2-5 years of extended training at my facility in Seattle. It's kinda weird how fast time has gone. I graduated from UND almost 7 months ago to the day, and it seems just like yesterday.

CTI: Gratz on the job. Sounds like you've earned it.

Harley: Cool pics.

Ken: How long does each p90 workout take, and how much space do you need for it.

Ed: You are so freaking close. You've got to get over the wall this week.

Morning fellas. Just incase any one is interested, I see p90 and p90x on craigslist from time to time. So, if you have a local craigslist or even check ebay, you may be able to save a little scratch if you don't mind a little work finding it.

Also, does any one have any LC chicken marinades, either store bought or home made recipe?

Have a good day, and keep up the good work.
