Divine- howdey!

Teresa- you are awsome with your 2/14 and I can say so am I!

I survied 2 stressers today. First my dog who is my best buddy decided she had enough of my 2year beating on her and she bit him on his check, corner of his eye and his lip. No stiches needed but I was made at them both. Thankfully he is ok.

The second thing was my newest worst fear. Do you all remember that I had to move my dad on my own because every one was injured and he insisted that he could make it at his new place. Well he called me in tears and hyperventalating tonight because he got all his bills and cant make it. He swore up and down that he would be able to. He is really starting to slip and theres nohing I can do. I made my brother and husband go over tonight with him to help me straighten out his finaces, calm him down and go threw the news paper to get him out of this mess. He will likely get sued for breaking the lease. He is on dissability for emotional stability issues. Dh decides he wants to get a Pizza and I begged him to let me go to the store and buy dinner and I also stocked my dads cupbords with food. He only had white rice, an onion, and a little bit of cereal in a box.I actually belived him when he said he was buying his food each day when he would go out. He used to eat at my house atleats once a day when he lived down the road and I was always taking over left overs. Some times he seems ok and others I wouldnt leave him in charge of a bird. Now I have to find him somewhere else to live and between my brother and I we have to bail him out $. The plain is to put him in an effeciency apartment for a year to recover. I am holding my brother to helping me more. I am the youngest and have 4 small kids he is 36 married and has no kids. He can help.

Any way my point is I made it threw and I feel like haveing this challenge helped me. It wasnt a matter of effecting a total loss by a certain day with room to spare. It was a daily achiement that I have total control over.

Kbetz: You are a strong lady, whether or not you know it. I'm so sorry to hear that your dad is not doing as well as you were led to believe, but it really is a good thing that now you and your brother know the truth. Sending prayers your way, darlin'.

Lisa: So glad to hear from you! What a trouper, to come to the computer and check in like that! Please be very good to yourself and recover quickly!

Well, it's the 4th of July...it's sunshiney but cool outside. We're having a quiet day and a simple menu plan of meat and salad, which works well for everybody. The darling dh is turning on the heater for his wife, since cool water temps aggravate my fibro symptoms to a painful degree.

Ok, report time: 2.4 lbs. down today, after using my new prenenolone with DHEA cream, plus the other new supplements, and a higher carb day.

Yesterday's totals were as follows:
Cals: 1,647
Fats: 118 g
Carbs: 62 g [total]
Protein: 79g

Basically, that is 'Eat Fat, Get Thin' at its higher carb amt. but lower protein amts. Fat is not a limit on that woe, none at all. The focus is more on the amts. of protein and carbs, anywhere from 65 down to 20 or so. The more I read on fats [and the controversy over them] and the more I stick with low-carbing and higher fats, and see how my blood test results are wonderfully improved, the more I am convinced FAT is the way to go!

Today I'm returning to the fats and proteins cycle, since that monthly cycle business is approaching. I figure give the body all the fat and protein it demands [but hardly any carbs so it has to use my body fat for energy] and maybe - just maybe - TOM might be a bit kinder...Again, it is too soon to tell what the new regimen of supplements and natural hormone enhancers with DHEA will do this month [in regard to how TOM behaves] but I think the fact that I'm still losing a bit of wt. this week, in addition to the better energy level, is a very good sign.

Happy Forth of July everyone! Hope you all are having a fun and safe holiday (and weekend)!

Yay on the lbs down Miss M! Have you gotten to a new low yet? If not, you have got to be really close with all these lbs you have been dropping!

kbetz--sorry about how things are working out with your Dad, that's got to be rough for everyone---and probably really hard for your Dad to admit his mistake and that he needs help. Good for you not letting it derail your eating/health!

Getting ready to go out for the evening but there will be no eating or drinking (other than water) so it's pretty safe to say....3/14!

Have a great night all!

Lisa- glade you are ok, stay strong

Divine and Teresa- thank you for the words and support.

Teresa- Ok heres the deal, I can say 3/14 because I stayed withinn my limits and everything but I ate 5 carbs of LC ice cream so I feel like I cheated yet its not really diffrent then if I would have had a LC home made treat. It was store bought so it seemed naughty! Oh well I can live with it.

My husband is on a mission to destroy me. I leave him alone with his lack of quility eating with his diabbeties, but he needs to stop insisting that I eat the jusk with him.
He got his pizza today and I stayed on a small salad. He's under stress at work and with HIS dad's cancer, hes struglling. I want this to bad for him to get in my way. My too tight shorts from may are finnaly falling off me.

Boy, I think I better not ever have that Low carb icecream again! It tasted sooooo good. Better than the real deal! This morning I awoke wanting every thing I could get my hands on. I checked the scale and I am at 284. So I lost 1 pound in 3 days. I should not check check again for a while because I am bumed out now!
I know this is about keeping clean for 2 weeks. My face is almost clear again. You think that would be enough to keep me on plan.

As for my dad he drove him self over here last night to show me a paper describing an apartment I suggested. ( I had been in the units before) It was nice with 1 bedroom and the living room has an extra pull out from the wall bed. It is close to have a 2 bd room. It even has a utility closet that you can put a washer and dryer in. Its even near the walking path I go to all the time. Next to a farm that he would love to stare at all day.
He has decided that he is going to sighn his check over to the Vetrans administration and go live in one of there nurseing home units far away. He said hes droping off his truck at the bank. OH God, please help me know what to do with him~! My brother was supposed to go to the bank with him today to see about lowering the payment, but he called me last night and said he was going Ki-acking instead. When I asked him how he could do that to us, he asked what it was that I had to do, and I said I am raiseing 4 kids while my husbdand works 70 hours a week. He said he took off thursday so he could have a 4 day weekend and wants to go to the river and cant I take care of this "one thing" I lite him up and said I take care of everything, you are never around and I do it all! I told him my kids are not going to sit well in a bank for a peroid of time. He told me I need to get a grip on them before they are teenagrers. The one's we were speaking of are 2 and 4 who have developmental delays. Oh I could chook him!

Sorry for dumping here I just hope that maybe some one can atleast relate to rotten brothers and careing for family members.

I keep waiting for the phone to ring or the front door to fly open with my dad behind it. Dont get me wrong I just need him to sit on his hands and watch Andy Griffin for the weekend untill I can figure something out.

I need to go walk the path with the kids to release some emotion! Maybe I can cut a tree down while I am there. LOL

Pool is finnaly doing ok. We are now beyond leveling the walls and have moved onto mastering the chemical levels. It was never a worry before since I kept drainging the thing to move it. lol I picked up a book explaing it and it seems easy. Its like cooking.

Oh ya we went to a big pool/spa place yesterday and we have decided that we will do what ever it takes to beable to use our entire tax return to have a above ground pool installed and we will do the stone block patio I want. DH wants to get a heater on it and we can swing the cost of it but I dont know how much it will cost us to run it. He has the idea that he wants to swim all year and I think hes out of his mind. I wouldnt mind being abtle to late april threw october. We live in Ohio where we get snow dumped from december- mid march.

Inregards to the upper comment about the pool with a tax return. What I ment was next springs tax return. We currently have a bisic pipe pool from walmart. We also want one bigger than 18 ft and I refuse to attempt another one on my own.

I had chicken for breakfast and a little salami for lunch /snack.

I am haveing a hard time eating all the protein I am supposed to have. Its not that I want more carbs, its just alot of food to eat. I might experiment with a grazing meathod of proteins. I have a large round veggy tray with dividers. I am supposed to consume 40 grams of protein per meal 3-4 meals a day. If we just went with the 3 meals, it would be 120 grams of protein a day.
I could throw hb eggs in it, diced turrkey breast, chicken chunks, a little cheese, maybe some taco ground beef, chunked steak bites. What ever..... many people keep a water bottle with them to sip from every so often.
I want to resist the idea that protein is a maigic pill that makes you lose weight because it doesnt. On the flip side when we dont eat because of keto then we take the chance of going into callorie depervation and our bodies resist letting go of anything.
Divine had pointed out to me that in protein power the 5-7 carbs a meal is suggested but I could go lower. This is such a science! right turn , left turn, wrong turn!

I need to restock the freezer with family meals on sunday. I think I only have 1 left. Boy that sure does help in a pintch!.

I also love family meal time. It is so great to sit with DH and all the kids in one room when every one must use there manners and we share undivided time together.

Wow I just scratched my face and its got a real fresh feel to it. Normally it would be bumpy and oily despite the care i was giving it. I should take a picture of my self when I am eating clean so I wont forget. This is a huge deal for me. I have gotten so used to the idea of being beautiful on the inside and excepting my outward flaws as part of life that I forgot how nice it is to have a pleasent apperance.

kbetz--the ice cream bar was lc, so I think it counts as being on plan. Too bad it set off cravings, but now you know. And, you should take a picture of your skin as a reminder of how good this plan makes you feel! You should take some pics anyway so you have a "before" pic (even though it's a bit late--better late than never!).

LISA---soooo glad to hear from you! Be careful, take it easy, don't push yourself and all that good stuff! Seriously, the first week or two after a major surgery your body needs to use all of it's energy to heal--so take care of it and let it do it's thing.

Dream--nice to see you on a weekend! 1 out of 14 is better than 0. However, hopefully before the weekend is over you will have a couple more days to add to it.

Where is Jennifer? I know she went on vacation but shouldn't she be back by now? I'm getting a bit worried....

bbl to report for the day

Lisa i am sending you a big gentle hug. Try and remember that everything in life eventually passes. Rest when you need to and try and think about where you will be in 6 months. I cant wait to watch your progress. I barley know you but I think you are amazing.

Dream- 1/14 is still a success! Now lets see if you can make 2/14. I know you can do it!.

Teresa- lets rock the water! As for pics of before, I have them at my highest and rite before I came back at 300. I need to get the new one off my camera and try and scan it into my computer to up load here. Its a challenge, but I will try.

Today was the first day that I actually would say I got a real work out in the pool not just playing with the kids. I threw the boys out and let DD stay withe me while we swam in circles around the pool. I had to use a water noddle under my chest to keep me abovce the 4 ft of water. We would swim 5 time around the 18 ft circle then rotate the other way, then we switched to our backs. We did it for 30 minutes and I was actually tired afterword. i have always liked to swim but felt like a looser because I couldnt do that many laps in a publiuc pool. I plan to do this every day and maybe when winter comes I will get a 3 month memebership at our local rec center. They have a great pool, a lazy river, and a kiddy water play area. It would be a great PE activity for during the school year and a 3 month $ commitment is not bad for our family! I wont commit to a year round plan.
I am going to start useing our weight machine a few days a week. I want to make a schedule and talk it over with DH so I can stick to it. In the past he has felt annoyed when I would hide off in the work out room. We have a tredmill. weight machine and eliptical that I could be useing.

So far I have stayed on plan today and dont expect any strays

4/14for me to! Is it me or is this going fast?

I feel sick tonight. I have heart burn really bad and cant figure out why. The only thing diffrent was walking a whole bunch tonight and swam today.

I ate chicken chunks with celery and a dash of fench onion dip. This never bothers me, but who knows?

Hello everyone...Thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing. Looks like you guys are hanging right in there. I'm so proud!

Lisa-how exciting that you have the surgery out of the way and are on the other side. I'm so happy for you! Get alot of rest and you will be back on your feet in no time.

Kbetz-Teresa-you girls are rocking on your challenge. Is it to late for me to join?

I don't have alot of good news to report. I am up 15 pounds from my lowest of 197. This morning I weighed in at 212. I can see it.... I am on my way right back to where I started from if I don't kick myself in the rear end and get motivated again. I really don't know what happened. I was doing so good until we started moving into this house and my eating just got away from me. I keep saying..in the morning I'm back on my diet..but that hasn't happened yet. I have cried until I can't...I am so frustrated!!!! The one time in a very very long time I was starting to feel good about myself and I have sabatoged myself.

I know what I have to do to get back on track and that is eating properly, drinking lots of water..and getting on here and being accountable! Today is a new day...I can do this ...can't I???

My Mother and Son were in a car accident yesterday. Looking at the car you would think that they would have been hurt very badly, but by the grace of God they only have a few scratches and bruises. They were hit head on by a truck that was on the wrong side of the road. They both had their seat belts on and that is where the majority of the bruising came from. The EMT's found drugs on the woman and gave them to the police, but she still walked right out of the hospital...I don't understand that..she should have went to jail or something...It was all I could do not to drag her off that bed by the hair of her head and whip the crap out of her. I was able to control myself and was civil to her and her family. She had her 14 yr old daughter in the truck with her. Everyone was able to walk out of the hospital. My son is blaming himself because they were on their way to pick up his girlfriend. I told him that I believe things happen because they are meant to happen and that its not his fault. He was crying last night about my Mom's car..she just bought it 6 months ago and it barely had 7000 miles on it...I told him that we could replace the car, but we couldn't replace him or his Grandmother and not to worry about it. I have been up and down all night checking on him. He is 17 but he is still my baby.

Well thats about it for me. Everything else work, house, DH and DD are fine.

Lets hope I can make today the day I get back on track.

Thanks for listening.

J

Jeannie--welcome back! Of course you can join our challenge, it's never too late!! I understand the whole gaining thing and not being able to get back up--I went through that for a couple of months and it was quite scary and frustrating. I have been back on track for about 1.5 months now--lost all I gained and a few more--so hang in there, before you know it you will be back in the "game!"

Wow--thank God everyone walked away from that accident. I hope the driver gets what is coming to her. It's horrible that your son and mom had to go through that....but it's even more horrifying that she drives around with her daughter while under the influence and/or with drugs in the vehicle. She definitely needs help.

kbetz--congrats on the 4/14--you are doing great!! The pounds will be melting off this month! Do post a picture, I would love to see your new glowing skin!!

Today is dedicated to getting all the stuff done that I meant to do this weekend--but instead I goofed off and did a ton of shopping! So, today is cleaning, cooking/baking and a few errands. I have also been working off and on at going through all of my clothes and getting rid of things that are too big. I had hoped to get it all done this weekend but I think it will take next weekend as well to get it accomplished. Scary thing is I just did this last fall, I didn't realize that I had so much stuff!

bbl to report for the day

Jeani - glad you are back and everyone will be ok.

Teresa- where you staying on plan befor the challenge or is this helping?
For me it gave me my edge back The edge I have not had since this time last year.

I thank you gals for doing this with me. It really ment alot to me. I think so often we get the feeling that everyone else is doing "It" , why cant I? Or I want to do that and then we destroy our self.

I did 2 water work outs and walked today. I am tired. I didnt eat much today. I had a bowl of fresh spinach with the sallami and pepperoni, jalapeno, bannana, green peppers, and a little shreeded cheese from subway for lunch. No dressing, didnt need it.

dinner was on the run but on plan. DH had to go into work to take care of a problem. He manages a Burger king. I got a 2 whopper patties with cheese on a small side salad with a little Mayo. It was wonderfull after swiming all a day. I have never had a tan so nice in my life. I am still fare compared to most but I have some color now!

I am not to sure where I am with what plan I am actually on? I am finding it hard to get enough protein in. What I am doing is both Atkins and protein power. I keep carbs at about 5 carbs a meal, less then 20 a day. I allow myself what every form of carb I want as long as its a low carb food. No frankinfoods! If I want a little cottage cheese I am eating it! If i get the urged to eat everything in sight I try and make sure what ever I eat has lots of healthy fat in it. I stop carbs at dinner and am pounding the water.

I guess the only thing in protein power that i am not doing rite is ensureing that I eat 40 grams of protein with each meal.h Although, I never eat a carb by it selfs.

Atkins says eat libral amounts of protein
PPLP says eat regimented protein and calories do count.

I think I will just go with eat 3 meals/snacks a day and stop when i am no longer hungry, not stuffed.

SO in the end I am definatly staying in plan I just cant alays eat that much protein at one sitting. ( although if it had been taco bell I bet I could have) Ha Ha Ha!

I am craving a nice beef roast with cheesy cauliflour.

hmm 283 this morning with a surpised TOM. Its weird I had no worning sighns, no acne flare up, no cramps no nothing. I am hopeing the 3 pound gain is from all the exercise and TOM. I didnt stray at all?
It is very hot and humid this morning.

Hi Ladies:

I'm back from a long weekend. My score 2/14 - but I do much better during the week, so hopefully that first number will go up.

Jeannie: Good to have you back. So sorry to hear about the car accident. I'm so glad your mom and DS are okay. Phew. That was certainly a close call. We have often told our kids the same thing. A car is just a car. No big deal, it can be replaced, but they can't.

If its any consolation, I'm still here and I still weigh about the same, well a lb or two more. I'm not stalling. I just cant seem to behave myself, but look at my record, supposed to be at 6/14 and I'm at 2/14. There is the reason.

Teresa: I didn't get anything done this weekend. I don't know why I couldn't function on Saturday. Then on Sunday, it dawned on me all the things I should have done. Good grief. We did go bowling on Saturday and golfing on Sunday. Friday, I worked really hard around the house to get it cleaned up for DH's return, went grocery shopping, made a fabulous dinner and ran errands. He got home Friday night and was home such a short time and has already had to return to work.

I'm determined to get a 5 out of 5 day score this week on our challenge, Monday through Friday. You are doing awesome.

Kbetz: I'm sure the lbs up are temporary for you. Remember, you are down 20 lbs! Thats a huge accomplishment. You are doing great. The water exercise sounds like fun. You have a whole gym at your house. I want one of those! Great job on the perfect score.

Divine: How's it going? You were on a roll during your last post. I too, cannot find full fat yogurt. Still looking. I'm thinking a specialty market, either whole foods or new seasons may carry it.

Hi everyone else. Check in. Okay!
