Coconutty cojones?

Having a lot of fun, for folks who are snarffling up cream cheese delicacies to get our calories up to BMR and are losing weight while we are 'deprived' of all the empty carby stuff that most folks on low-fat diets are eating. Is it legal to enjoy any eating plan this much?

Just checking in with my totals for the day.

Total: cals-2035
Fat: grams-176 1586 percent-78%
Sat: 74 665 33%
Poly: 30 273 13%

I got the 25 grams of carbs I've been aiming for easily by adding a few higher carb cherry tomatoes. Of course, my fat level doeslook like i've been munching piratey fat balls all day (AGAIN, LOL)

So thats where my numbers will be Once I drink an egg cream for dinner. I'm just really craving that root beer float taste!

I expect to be 2169 for the day:
54%fat
23g/6% carb
38% protein

Give or take, I may up it higher today. Menu is
Egg cream (2 egg, 1/4c h.c., 12oz water, van. extract, 2 sweetener)
protein powder (4 servings)
white castle hamburger pie
celery with c/c
almonds

I've been in such a rush lately that I've been relyign on protein powder for filler.

Tomorrow, I have a day off. Spa, then house clean and get life in order and enjoy a long weekend.

Not expecting a loss this week as it's TOM next week and I historically hold this week and next and whoosh 4lbs the week after.

Thursday? Already? S.H.I.T. (Sure Happy It's Thursday)

Oh, got to add coconut flakes to my Netrition order this time! What a treat to have on hand, for that little SOMETHING to remind me what a lavish lifestyle LC eating CAN be when one uses a little imagination. Creative cream cheese balls!

I'm off to a start with my WPP+cacao+espresso crystals and 4 dollops of VCO! What an amazing feeling, to start off the day with 20g of protein in a yummy Hot Slosh. Always gives me the feeling that I can whip my weight in pussycats!

Here's to a successful BMR day for all of us! I'll be ba-a-ack to report on my eats. Looks to me as if it's salmon-mayo with chunks of red onion and a dash or two of Mrs.Dash's Extra Spicy seasoning to lift it out of the mundane and to enrich it with thermogenic spices to kick my metabolism up a notch or two. I've got 3HB eggs that might well serve as a topper for that pink fishy protein. That is the plan, as well as a wash or two to freshen up things for the wknd. Clean sheets and crisp pillowcases always make my bed-nest a place I want to be.

Someday soon, I hope, my weight will be such that I can anticipate a busier day than that. But for now, I'll do what I can do - and be grateful for that.

Tuna & Cottage cheese?

A devout LC maintainer tells me she prefers using cottage cheese to mayo:

Yes, this lady makes her own crackers. She's got LC down to an efficient daily series of snacks as she makes carby meals for a working DH who likes all the stuff that made us fat in the first place. He's not fat. She's lost a lot of weight and plans on staying trim, so she eats LC all day long, no matter what! She's barely 5ft tall, so it's not easy to keep the weight off. Love hearing how she sets up her fridge for fast-food that is all LC. She snacks all day long on delicious minute muffins and vegies dipped into yoghurt-salsa dip. And she's a go-go gal, on the move, enjoying an active retirement in Vegas!

The % are different for fat and protein because fat=9 calories per gram and protein=4 calories per gram. Carbs are also 4 calories per gram. Thats how you figure calorie counts of a food. Fat X 9 + Protein X 4 + Carbs X 4 = calories-this is how a hidden carbs calculator works.

Kisha, I love using cherry tomatoes too. I love the fact that there are self-contained units that I don't have to weigh or measure, just count. I had 10 yesterday with lunch and dinner. Plus I have two cherry tomato plants growing in my garden right now. I won't have to pay for any tomatoes in a month or so.

Zer, I'm so jealous that you can get Spicy Mrs. Dash. I haven't seen it anywhere for like a year. I assumed it has been discontinued. Maybe I can find it online, cuz that sure is some good stuff!

Ok, I have got to try some big ol' pirately balls. I have a package of shredded coconut in the fridge as we speak. Hmmm....it seems that I have a date after work!

O, I get it. The percent is percent of calories for the day from protein and percent of calories for the day from fat. Its unrelated to the grams.

Our tomato plants are growing and looking georgous... but no fruit yet. I've been buying mine at Trader Joes. They're organic, great quality and ReALLY affordable.

We've got to work on perfecting this recipe! I wish I had some pina colada da vinci's on hand so I could get cracking on it already. I mean, its a delicious treat, AND an after work date all rolled into one delightful fat hairy piratey mouthful. Who could want more?

What about mixing cream cheese with some minced dried fruit? Raisins or dried cherries might be an interesting way to sweeten cream cheese. I'd even like a mixture of cheeses, maybe a bleu cheese or some of my stinky Asiago grated into cream cheese, then a coating of coconut to keep my fingers clean. Yum!

Here's an interesting article about Whey Low.

Wow. Yes, I knew that it was real sugar - but stupid me believed the hype re: "low glycemic". It was supposedly invented by a Doctor for his Diabetic wife. Lots of SomerSizers use WheyLow.

But this part of the article really bothers me:

Oh, goody - fructose may cause insulin resistance, the root cause of type II diabetes and polycystic ovarian syndrome. How... healthy. Yet the producers of Whey Low are recommending it for diabetics.

Thanks for sharing, Lisa. I have updated my post above accordingly.
XO,
HB

So do I!

My nutritionist gave me the ok to start low-carbing after my vacation. I have the correct DANDR book and got the shopping guide. If I eat cheese, stick to cottage cheese. For some reason I feel "funny" when I eat cheese these days. It is good but I'd rather eat a juicy peace of fruit instead. She said it will help my binges and I will be able to eat the protein and get the iron I need to feel less weak.

I'm a member of the new 2008 Mid-Year Resolution and this is is a good way to start.
