Just signed in. Been busy today trying to keep up with a helper who is bent on emptying out a storage space that I've been paying rent on for 18yrs now - and the rent is rising fast. They now want $3/sq.ft. and I find that a lot to pay for stuff that I don't exactly recall and never meant to pay storage on for 18yrs.

She went early to create an inventory, then showed up a 11am with boxes of stuff for me to wade into, identifying trash for her to take to dumpster. Some of the stuff may actually be of some use to others, so it is now on our HELP YOURSELF counter, for anyone who wants to take an item, re-home it, cherish it, or gift it to someone else. Many trips back and forth. At 5:30pm she said she was ready to quit. I'd been ready to quit for HOURS, so no argument!

Tomorrow she will appear with more boxes, for me to make more decisions.

Exhausting, making decisions. So many books and so little shelf space here!

WOE: Low Carb! Alternate Day!
Start Date: March 2008! January '09 Restart!
Hi everyone...today I am down 20 pounds since March. Lately, I have been wondering if I haven't been eating enough calories... I went back and refigured my BMR which is 1670... I then figured the number of calories I need to consume to maintain my current weight, 2900....

Okay, I usually eat between 1500 and 1800 but usually fall between the two. For that reason, I have decided to up my calorie count beginnng today and see if I get closer to 2000 to see if I will drop weight any faster...

I struggle, however, with eating more often and sometimes get stuck doing IF because I don't feel like eating... I guess I'll try this through next week and see how that goes...

Have a great day!

TJ

383.4 on the scale today, first try!
...that's 11# GONE since 10/1 (394.4)
...and 2.8# less than a week ago, 10/16 (386.2)
...and 6.8# less than 2wks ago, 10/9 (390.2)

With 10days to go before my Nov.1 weigh-in,
I'm hopeful I can see 379# on or before 11/1/08.
Just 4.4# more will get me to 379#... I'm drinking LOTS of water, to entice The Whoosh Fairy™ to visit. *gurgle gurgle* Do pray for me to stay on target!

Jane & Kisha:

Hope the Armour sublingual tip makes your morning rituals a bit easier -- I know that I'd completely lose it if I didn't take my Armour this way. I'd never find a slot for it twice a day otherwise, what with trying to properly space out my calcium, iron (I'm currently anemic), and other multi-vits, all which have to be separate from each other. Grrr!

Hope also you both have better results with weightloss/breaking stalls than I'm having with thyroid treatment. 3 months in so far and no results on the scale, tho we are still titrating my dosage upwards and maybe when I finally hit the "sweet spot" I'll see some improvement in that area as well as energy levels, etc. Here's hopin'!

Thank you. I am absolutely sure that the prayers of my friends is what brought to me the home helpers that I have met as I dared to ask for help in managing daily affairs. Today I saw a 4-drawer file cabinet leave my room, so that a wooden chest from my storage area can come into it. After 18yrs of standing on end, it will be here, probably Saturday! Yay for the help of a few kind folks who can do what I cannot do, as I sit on my bed and make choices of what to keep and what to donate and what to send to a dumpster. These home helpers are my legs, my arms, and a strong back too!

I am hopeful that I shall drop pounds too as I let go of a lifetime of memories, scraps of paper that remind me of who I once was. I am looking foward now!

Thanks I will definitely keep you posted...right now that seems like a lot of calories, however... I think I need to let go of the starve yourself thin philosophy...because that tape keeps replaying itself over and over and over again in my head!

Hello everyone...well for one whole week never wavered off plan, eating to my bmr, etc. and I am now 209...lost 5 pounds this week - I don't care if it was water or not, hopefully it's just gone. I use fitday eveyday because even tho I am counting carbs I need to know the other numbers too.

Everybody have a safe and good weekend!

TGIF...and here's hoping we each make good healthy LC choices today for our minds and bodies. My home helper is here to say that she has cleared out ALL of the stuff in the 5x5ft storage room and we will be finished today with that!

Got to go. She's wheeling boxes into the house now for me to decide what goes and what stays (somewhere in this room that now seems larger to me). She runs faster than the Energizer Bunny, this marvel of a dynamo, my new neighbor who plans to leave California in a week to drive to Florida to see her grown son and to run an office he plans to open in Orlando. She's an angel passing through my life at a time when your prayers were heard. Thank you for your prayers that my life would be simplified. Our prayers have been heard.

Oh my gosh Zer, you are doing so well taking control of your life in so many ways! Continued prayers are with you!

Congrats Jane - 5 pounds in one week is awesome!

Today I decided to try on some size 14 pants I haven't worn in a year. I hit 25 pounds gone a couple of days ago and noticed my 16 jeans we getting a bit baggy (started out with mushroom top). I'm happy to report that the 14 slacks were very comfy and no mushroom at all!!! So psyched! I've averaged about a pound a week and I couldn't be more pleased. But the changes in inches is what is really amazing.

Hubby has gone from XXL Tall shirts to being able to wear his XL Talls - snugly but he's really excited. This WOE totally rocks.

Hello all. It's been awhile since I have reached my BMR. Was determined to do it today since I have been on a stall. I made it today but think I made a major mistake. Made one of those super easy "No-Bake Best Tasting Cheesecake" out of the Recipe Room. Well it was the easiest, best tasting thing i've eaten (well, besides that Coconut Bark stuff), since starting this WOE.

Problem #1: I made 1/2 of the recipe without crust. Calculated that this stuff is approximately 4.4 carbs per large tablespoon!

Problem #2: I've got approximately 10 tablespoons left.

Problem #3: This stuff is good and I live alone!

This is exactly my sentiment. As I'm losing weight, I'm going to try and clean out my house of some of this accumulated "junk". I've got boxes of stuff still with tape on it from when I moved 10 years ago. It's time for some changes.

Congratulations on the movement in weight and stuff out of your life!

Oh, who among us has not been in precisely this position, with a LC treat and an impulse to have just one more bite? I've one-more-bite'd myself into an empty dish more than once.

Oh, I do know my limits, since eating too much of many good things that are LC but that are too "more-ish" for me to have at hand. Keeping such stuff in the freezer, portions sized and bagged up, seems to help. Working off a larger piece is a real challenge for me, as I am seriously "portion-challenged" and tend to allow myself to whittle or nibble away at anything tasty.

Making smaller batches sometimes helps.

Oh, who among us has not been in precisely this position, with a LC treat and an impulse to have just one more bite? I've one-more-bite'd myself into an empty dish more than once.

OK - only 2 more days to the end of the month & i've still got 3 more pounds to meet my monthly goal of 10 lbs per month. Time to get starting eating if I'm going to make it.
