I feel your pain! I've been bouncing between 208 and 211 for about a MONTH!
A MONTH!
I've even cut out dairy and nuts for the last two weeks and NO BUDGE.
Aaargh. Damn this slow weight loss. I never cheat! NEVER! I always eat less than 5% carbs. I eat to BMR... I do everything right and am just waiting waiting waiting to be rewarded on the scale.

I'm going to keep off the cheese and nuts for another two weeks but if I don't get results I'm adding them back in. I mean, if they're not the culprits why do without them.

Maybe it's time to vary your diet and up your carbs? Sometimes restriction is not the way to go. I don't lose on Induction carbs anymore. Btinc has made some interesting posts and I have been researching that a lot of women do better with carbs around 50 g-hormonally for some there is no difference between 30 or 50 carbs.

Sure worth a try, upping carbs, as long as we reach for vegie carbs. I'm keen to add more vegie carbs. Soon. Just want to get below 390. Been waffling around in the 390s for too long now. Impatient to start waffling in the 380s! Been craving a big leafy salad, full of spinach and weedy greens and romaine and all the stuff that I used to think were fine for a LC plan. Might have bleu cheese crumbles all over, blending with olive oil to make a nice dressing. Ah, maybe my reward for finding my way to 385? That way, a 4# bOunCe won't take me into the 390s and make me feel all desperate and forlorn, as happens when I drift back UP on a 1% bOunCe. Funny, what we crave as we modify our focus on LC food, isn't it? I crave vegies!

Been there, Done that. I've gone as high as 35g a carbs a day (all veggie) didn't affect my weight loss AT ALL. I appreciate the suggestion but I've already tried that one! The 5% carbs is just sort of my normal settling point. I still eat plenty of vegetables, fresh zucchini and tomatoes from the garden... it naturally comes out to 5% carbs. I've tried upping it to see if it would stimulate weight loss - it didn't.

I've found the same thing - I don't crave sweets often (pre-TOM is the exception) - instead I crave veggies, leafy green, amazing veggies. How wierd is that?

I cut back my dairy last week and started taking CO to help with the yeasties, and with a clean week of induction, I managed to see a 10 pound drop - I know 5 of it was water because of a high carb weekend, but I'm sooo encouraged to see some progress again. I'm hoping to see more as I continue to cut back dairy and add more of the yeast fighting protocols.

35 carbs a day is not more hormonally than 20. You need to raise them to 50 or above for a few days to see if it stimulates your metabolism. I know it is sooo frustrating-hopefully you will find what works.

Ok. I'll put it on the to do list! I'm going to give this no cheese no nuts yeast protocol with ACV and CO another coupla weeks before I rule it out as the solution. then I guess I'll try the way higher carb approach. But what will I use to up the carbs? I guess some berries would be a good way to go. I'm not really a fruit fan. Maybe some higher carb veggies? I guess I'll have time to plan my attack! So 50 total carbs?

If your anti yeast protocol doesn't work I would try upping your carbs to around 50 for a couple of weeks and note what happens. I was stalled big time at Induction carbs and felt horribly weak and sick-I do better around 50 or above. Still stalled because of health problems but at least I am not gaining and feel better. Try adding an apple with some cheese or pb, yogurt or cottage cheese, starchier veggies like half a sweet potato etc.-all Atkins acceptable but further up the rungs of OWL. It's worth a shot if nothing else works.

If you are like me I had a hard time upping them at first. Felt guilty then I realized that's stupid-these healthy foods are allowed on Atkins. I do enjoy them now though!

Ok Lisa, I guess I'll buy another bottle... I just didn't notice anything different but, of course, I didn't research all of the benefits either!

Lisa I belong to another board and there is a person on there who advocates upping your carbs when in a stall as well... Works for some, not for others... I think it is a great suggestion though... I've tried it a few times and it has worked, although I only lose one pound at a time!

Wendy....congrats dang 10 pounds is a lot! Ok, now I'm definitely going out and getting that darn CO that I was supposed to purchase over the weekend... Today I started M&E fast to see if I can shake things up. Now I have NEVER done this because it just seems to severe for me....but I'm desperate to see more than one pound gone at a time! I also started IF at the same time... I'm sure I will not have any energy all week, even though I upped my fats to compensate! Today I fasted most of the day and had 3 eggs, 3 slices bacon, and 2 T. butter for dinner!

Kisha sorry upping your carbs didn't work for you.... It works for me sometimes... I'm definitely onboard with Wendy and the YEAST KILLERS.... I have yeast and it is a real problem, right now I have a rash that I am trying to get rid of that itches a lot on my stomach... I stopped the ACV for a couple of days to see if the rash eased up, but it hasn't... I've had it before and cannot for the life of me remember what I did to get rid of it....yeast overgrowth sucks! Just an after thought, I have been eating a lot of cheese and that could be the problem. Perhaps not having any this week will get rid of the rash! I'm sure that is another reason my weight loss is so very, very slow, YEAST!

Hi gang,

Here's my totals for yesterday (look! Look! I think they're almost perfect!)

Calories cals-1,839
Fat grams-137.9 1,232 percent-67 %

Carbohydrate grams-11.9 44 percent-2 %
Dietary Fiber 3.7
Protein grams-132.9 564 percent-31 %
Alcohol 0.0 0 0 %

I'm really happy to be under 1900. i ate by far my biggest meal of the day at lunch also and then a lighter dinner calorie wise. This morning I'm at 207.5 which I have seen before in the last month but its still my low low low of my bounce so I'm planning on a repeat of yesterday to see if I'm rewarded with a new low.

I'm still following the yeast protocol from the candida thread, still eating to BMR, planning on getting my thyroid tested next week... and trying to muster the will to start exercising!

Hey Kisha,

Congrats on your new low!!! I guess the yeast protocol is working... I'm going to get my CO today and going to order some coconut cream online, as well as CO.

Question for anybody: It's 8:30pm and you have only 950 calories and a BMI of greater than 1700. Do you continue to eat (even if you are not hungry) or go to bed.

750cals short? Well, VCO at 120cals/Tbs might do the trick, as a nightcap in a BIG cup of hot chicken or beefy bouillon or even a nice cuppa hot cocoa.

I would make sure I ate at least 1200 calories every day.
Even if that meant taking a couple of TBS of Coconut Oil or whatever to get my calories up. I personally would not go to bed on a 950 calorie day.

I agree, I wouldn't worry about one day either... Calories fluctuate, some days we have good days and some days we don't.... The CO sounds like a quick fix though, although it keeps some people up if they take it too late in the day...

In keeping with my tracking resolution

here are my totals from yesterday:

Carbohydrate 5.6 21 1 %
Dietary Fiber 2.0

One percent carbs? How do you manage this? I hope you get a deserved loss, as faithfully as you are hitting your marker for fat-protein and well under 5% carbs. You deserve a WHOOSH!

I found a savior for my protein / cal needs - Linda's protein cookies.

With the brand of powder I like and subbing CO for butter, I get ~90 cals, 10g protein & 0 carbs. The protein powder is 0 fat, so the only fat grams come from the good healthy fat!

Delish!

A teensie high on the calories... I'm aiming for 1800-1900 a day but overall good.

This morning's weight, 208. I just SO WANT TO SEE A NEW NUMBER!
I would love to see a new number too, waiting to jump on the scale on Friday. Although I must say I feel bloated... Started using my progesterone cream so that is probably the culprit.

Finally purchased the CO today and used it in my coffee (decaf) after dinner....now I'm anxious.... I guess I should have taken my own advice because it is 12:00 and I can't sleep...

One percent carbs? How do you manage this? I hope you get a deserved loss, as faithfully as you are hitting your marker for fat-protein and well under 5% carbs. You deserve a WHOOSH!
yeah thats way low isn't it?!?! If this yeast diet I'm trying doesn't get me losing again I'm going to try way way upping my carbs to like 50!

How do I do it? Well, Yesterday was a weird day here's what I ate:

Breakfast, 3 eggs mixed with 1 fl oz of heavy cream and 2 pkgs splenda and cinnamon, scrammbled and pan cooked into a giant fluffy pancake topped with butter.

L: I walked to the deli near work and got a medium container of their chicken salad (just chicken onion may and celery). I ate half the chicken salad and from the salad bar got lettuce with just bacon bits (real bacon) and full fat ranch dressing. I ate half the chicken salad.

Sn: 2 squares homemade coconut oil candy

Then when I got home from my meeting I ate the other half of the chicken salad.

The days when I have like 1 or 2 % carbs are the days where I have no carbs at breakfast and then just salad but manage to have a carb free dinner like chicken salad or steak and eggs or ground beef and eggs or something like that.

I don't think its really super effective for me as my weight loss is slow but I'm comitted to finishing out at least a month of no cheese no nuts before I try way upping my carbs. Believe me, its next on my to try list!

I made Prozak's coffee drink today with the coconut cream and coconut oil and have had diarrhea all day today... Perhaps too much, too soon. Will try again tomorrow though because the drink was good and my energy was over the top. I'm wondering if that is short lived... If I recall from using it before it was for me...

Tomorrow is weigh in day... I am praying for a new low...

Good Luck TJ!

Personally i've been staring at 208.5 for days.
Perfect eating days might I add.
I'm beginning to suspect the Yeast Protocol isn't going to work for me.

I'm getting my thyroid tested next week. Maybe thats where the answer lies. I checked my fitday and even though I have been RELIGIOUSLY following my WOE for the last year I have only lost eight pounds in the last six months. Gee, I sorta think that qualifies as slow loss right? Maybe the tests will reveal some answers.

If not then I'm going to try way upping my carbs next. To like 60 a day.
